100,000 shares for sale at .63
Smells like dilution
Couple things to ask, not complaints per se:
Bi-annual dividend to keep the news on it twice as much(as opposed to once a year) or even quarterly when the dividend gets up to that point. This will also end the yearly debate on "if" the company plans to continue at all.
Upgrade to a more respectable accounting firm based in the US. I can offer a couple good ones for that matter.
Institutional investment/Analyst coverage/CFO in the works/BOD/Audit Com?
The company has a lot of stuff ongoing, I personally don't buy into nor like the excuse from Chad regarding not wanting to spend cash(.01 raises the market cap of the company 700,000 dollars roughly). Let's not shy away from the market, announce your arrival and put out monthly PR statements since we can't all goto China to see it for ourselves.
SIAF two step!!
8 Days forward, 7 days back
I was feeling pretty good, but since the stock has to go up 50% from here to get to where it was.
Actually this is extremely odd, no bad news, earnings out...smells like a dumping on SIAF shareholder heads by someone.
I'm so pissed off at the short term movement I am not even going to look at SIAF now for a month, that includes listening to the CC. See ya then everyone.
You're right Treit
The way the Pref share structure is set up Solomon controls the company.
It'd be good if 1 or 2 JF affiliated or nominated by JF Swedes stepped up to the BOD, they bought the table, now take your seat at it.
Naw I don't think that
They just diluted sub 1/2 BV(which is financially stupid, and that is being kind). I don't think they diluted again so quickly or they'd of done a much bigger deal back in Nov.
Hidden in the PR I believe I read that they issued 4 million new shares(for the year?) and retired 1.4 million.
Some serious trading games going on today, I had to do some work to the guys trying to uptick me by .001(within 10 seconds of my bid placement) to get a little more.
I doubt they hold much either
Have you seen how many deals they have done since SIAF? They scalped their profit and moved on.
Long term we will see
The last 10-K wasn't pretty though but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Brazil is up and coming with some growing up bumps along the way.
BTW Brazil has the world cup and the olympics coming up in the next few years. I think this stock will take off when those come around.
Madsen is a tiny firm with too many clients(I checked a few months ago). They likely hire a 3rd party in China to do the leg work for them and they just sign off on it.
At least they are subject to US law and the PCAOB, which China based accounting shops are not.
I'm not concerned with the A/R so much as I am with the CASH.
The only two negatives I see with the company being completely unbaised are:
1.) Their auditor
2.) Cash on the balance sheet
NEP didn't do the sector any favors either today
Saw that POS going for delisting 2 years ago when it was halted the first time.
4/15/2012
is the final date but that is on a Sunday. So hopefully that means by Friday...but it could mean Monday as well. I'm certainly no expert what day it could be filed on when that date falls on the weekend.
I just hope that if the report is positive that they release it in the premarket to allow for proper PPS appreciation as opposed to releasing it Friday after close and getting less of an effect from it.
Technically the stock was borderline overbought since Monday.
I agree to strongly disagree with you that the overall market sentiment and accompanying selloff of 9/10 stocks played no role in today's price movement. Small caps run their own course this is true, but they are not exempt from the rest of the market.
It paused last time it ran up in the 1.00-.90 area as well.
Well it should create a good buying opp again.
The stock dropped today due to the "Eurozone" issue which is why pretty much everything was down 2-5%. Nothing escaped today short of bear market ETFs.
It dropped on very light volume which usually indicates there are no serious buyers or serious sellers...that usually means that it will rise back up on smaller volume as well.
I'm not concerned much, just that the 10K gets filed by April 15 and the rest will take care of itself.
Ahhhh
Didn't know
Thanks for informing me.
SIAF article I found, about 1 week old:
http://stockgumshoe.com/2012/03/microblog-siaf-sino-agro-food-the-best-stock-i-have-see/
I get a good chuckle myself
Stock rises a lot, Weebly posts some BS about a pullback to the .70s(meaning he probably sold) when it was in the high .80s. Next day or the following stock busts through to the 1 buck range...weebly posts it's going to go back to the .90s.
When we get to 1.20 this week, will we see a post from you that it'll be going back to 1.00 range?
Even a broken clock is right at least twice a day.
Congrats to everyone
Great week, and the run up to April 15's 10K filing has a pretty good chance to continue I think.
Hopefully that seekingalpha article comes out sooner rather than later to generate even more interest in the company.
Yes, but perception is an important thing given the number of Chinese Co's that have had auditors walk out at 10K time.
If it moves south on a late filing it will move back up once the 10K is filed. So as a longer term holder it really doesn't mean much to me in the big scheme of things. The trend moves upward overall and I don't see it reversing anytime soon.
A late filing is a negative thing BTW, not that I'm a seller even if that happens. But overall it will be viewed negatively for the reasons someone already stated.
Of note:
HOGS going private at 13.50, which is a TTM P/E of 8 roughly. Just think of the day when SIAF gets a valuation of 8!
As I previously said in another post which I replied to earlier in the evening:
I have been in contact with a couple Nordic investors day trading/swing trading this at every opp they get.
PPS will always follow fundamentals, might take time but it'll come.
Anyways, here's to wishfull thinking the company reports a timely 10K/10Q.
Uhhh huh
They are selling, go check the volume. One is selling and the other is buying, trying to make chump change from penny movements by selling in bulk(10,000) quantities. Where do you think it comes from? Do you think all of that volume comes from American investors who are rushing to the doors to invest in a chinese stock given their recent history of accounting irregularities and outright fraud?
And for the record, the PPS movement south came well before the Ironridge deal. But by all means continue to tell yourself that the PPS wasn't already down 50% before then. Then go look at a trend.
I own a substantial amount of shares here(mostly sub .50)...but that doesn't mean I wake up in the morning and put the blinders on. That's what fools who lose their money do.
Yeah it is a concern of mine as well. My guess is that the majority of the volume(long and short) is of Swedish origin.
If only they would all get on the right page this thing would be north of 2 bucks in no time.
Given that most of the volume is from JF, if only they had a brain and realized that if they didn't try to play amatuer day trader with a low volume OTCBB stock that they could just trade back and forth to each other without mass selling and walk this thing straight up to 2 bucks or whatever they felt they wanted to. I guess it doesn't help that they trade from BS retirement accounts which aren't likely taxed for each transaction that they make.
So if I state this you know the company likely knows this also...and all of you talk about SIAF wanting to list in Sweden. Honestly why would they? Knowing this? And there would be the answer to every person's questions as to the future listing of SIAF in Sweden, it'll happen when SIAF prawns fly.
"It was obvious already 1 year ago that the US stock exchange was not a good place for SIAF. The americans are fast shooting cowboys and squezze the sell trigger anytime there is some uncertainty."
Yet again, amazed by the 'knowledge'.
Since the "bulk" of the shares are owned by Nordic hands, you should type that in Swedish so they can understand. I happen to know several morons who happen to be day trading/swing trading(or trying to at least) this thing and guess what, their first language isn't English(want a hint where they hail from originally?)
Here's one vote against a listing in Sweden
Companies enter the public market to raise capital. Nothing personal but Stockholm/Sweden's financial power is about 1/100th of the US.
I am in favor of a Nasdaq listing followed by an HK listing of their subs.
Given the ownership by JF members in the company I would like to see one of the independent BODs be some high ranking member from Sweden.
2.8 billion potential fingerlings
That number doesn't factor in the mortality rate I'm assuming?
I believe the CEO referenced it in the conference call that it was the date at which the 3million had to be paid in full. It was 'early March'...can't remember the specific date.
Still think that .70 is what they will make in EPS?
1 buck!!! +/- 10% of the guidance projected.
.12-.14 EPS for the 4th quarter 2011, which will be reported mid-month hopefully.
Also
The divy for 2011 was .01
The divy for 2012 will be at least .02
You can not factor the convertable divy, it has been 3+ months now and nothing!
To be honest here
You don't really know..you are just guessing. So I should correct you since you have done this a few times. Unless you have inside information on company expansions, sales, etc.
The company has guided 1.00 EPS and that is the number...not your magical .60, which you have not given any estimates as to how you come up to that(how much comes from the plantations?, fertilizer?,fish(indoor)?, fish(outdoor, contracted)?, beef cattle sales?, feestock?, etc, etc. If you don't believe the 1.00 then you don't believe the company's representations shouldn't be invested in the stock.
2012 EPS of 1.00
Not trying to flame on you, but that is how it is.
You have correctly named the reason why the stock hs been dripping and not able to break .65 resistance.
Little to no communication/company news.
"If" they pull their late filing stunt again. It'll go lower than where it is now.
Ha
+20,000 shares at .50
Didn't stay down there too long, the wankers. I wanted to fill it all.
To date there is no convertable dividend, if there isn't going to be one now there wont be one in the future either.
just the .01, .02 next year.
Doesn't matter
This stock will drip till the company puts forth some news.
I believe the buy order was more than that and the last bid sell transaction took out the last 101,500 of it all at once.
Anyways, we are getting on the bottom or nearing it of that technical chart mentioned the other day, so it might run up like it has the past 2 times off this level.
Someday the PPS will match the company fundamentals.
Who just saw that?
Bid of 101,500 shares just get rolled right over?
Anyways, drip drip drip.
They are strictly off limits for me, trading, shorting, or investing for the long term. I've found only 2 worthy of investment out of the whole lot....so far. The ones that are legit and misjudged will all be multi baggers with time.
I can't wait to see the side by side comp of AAPL and SIAF come one year from now.
So you find the that the company's silence is funny? Interesting investment research strategy you have.
A simple, "yes, they are in line" would have sufficed. I wasn't asking for the full SAIC file on every sub in China. BTW, I have emailed company(chinese) IR reps in the past and they have been quite responsive to the request.
