Guess Who’s Propping McDonald’s?
McDonald’s (MCD – NYSE)
By Bottarelli Research
Published Monday, May 18, 2015
We’ve wondered who was propping up McDonald’s MCD – NYSE. Now, we know some answers…
According to recently filed 13-F reports, Highfields Capital raised its stake in MCD, and Jana Partners, Corvex Management, and Glenview Capital all took new positions.
So, there are a few hedge funds looking to pick up some change backing change at McD’s. But since the parent company itself can’t seem to get it together, and the franchisees are thinking seriously of just setting a grease fire and taking the insurance money, how are theses speculators going to pull this off?
Today we saw a clue there as well. The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a Washington lobby group that usually picks on McDonald’s every chance it gets. But this week, one of its reports is circulating claiming that five popular salads at McDonald’s competitors are actually worse for you than a Big Mac.
We suspect PCRM’s intent was to cast aspersions on anything other than fresh tofu and bean sprouts. But this report is actually providing cover for McDonald’s lack of “healthy” offerings — at least in the short-term. Long-term? Not so much.
Excerpt...More of this at Bottarelli Research..
Here comes MCD fading in a little bit...
I kept watching for a true climactic sell set up and never got a classic one, but it continued power-trending up until just now...
HD coming on down...target is tough to call, but could go to 113.00 with some bumps along the way...my best guess, anyway...
Look at ASNA, giving us guite the move up today after the climactic red day yesterday......

Goldman's Top 40 Cheapest Stocks

IcoEdit: as you can see, this came out in April...it ia quarterly list that GS puts out..and it is obviously dated...
However, it is perhaps even more interesting to look back and see just how much 'cheaper' some of these became over the last 6 weeks, and how the chart looks now...
As usual, I am looking for continuation downtrends, but there are a lot of different reasons to look at the list...
