What can I say ? I consider genocide and increasing CO2 output when it needs to decrease a bad thing.
But I guess racial oppression and global warming is ok with you .... unless you think the US is doing it. Then you get bent out of shape over it.
Interesting.
The excuses you fabricate to argue with me never ceases to amaze me.
But I'm sure the People's Republic of China appreciates your tolerance of their horrific actions. But there is good news - I'm not the only one who has issues with the "go-to Boogeyman".

Hi bbotcs, one problem I see is neither the right nor the left can or are willing to separate the predicate from what followed.
I suspect by inserting himself vigilante style into the anarchy, he broke some laws.
But once there, there's plenty of evidence that indicates his life was being threatened.
So he's guilty of some stuff, but the jury has plenty of info that casts reasonable doubt about what happened once he was there.
Well Al, if the reasonable doubt rule is still in effect, he'll be acquitted.
The cross examination probably should have ended with "Why did you shoot at him ?" -- "Because he was chasing me with a gun in his hand."
But personally, if he had fired some warning shots in the air when everything started happening, this whole situation probably could have been avoided.
Hi arizona1, one of your interesting personality quirks is your compulsion to debate me when we actually are saying the same thing. Your statement: is a theoretical academic discussion about the role of institutional bias that is hardened in to societal and legal systems
is no different than what I said. Other than your forgot to include the "R" word in your interpretation. And you forgot to mention it is still practiced in Asia.
lol welcome back, Al. So glad to hear you take time off every now and then.
Since you already know what CRT is, why dont you tell me.
But basically the theory suggests that the dominant race of a society makes laws and institutions that benefit them at the expense of other races. Like in Asia.
hi ayock, i've researched it. its a theory that probably made sense when it was created, like 50 years ago, but it doesn't hold up any more.
what version of it, if any, is being taught in schools is tough to pin down, since clearly slot of stuff us being called CRT, when its not.
Hi Peg, well the article bbotcs posted says parts of Maryland do, but now that I've done my own searching they don't seem to be. California just passed this law:
https://thefederalist.com/2021/10/14/critical-race-theory-wins-big-with-californias-new-graduation-requirements/
But is "ethnic studies" simply a course about asian, latin american, and african, and indigenous people's cultures ? I dont know and there's nothing wrong with teaching that given how multicultural so many places are now.
Hi Peg, CRT = Critical Race Theory.
Thanks for posting that, bbotcs. I'm glad my kids are all grown up. I had to deprogram them a little bit here an there, but I'm so glad I didnt have to deal with CRT.
Renewable energy in the U.S. nearly quadrupled in the past decade, report finds
Dear climate activists, next time, storm the Chinese embassy.

Asia-Pacific accounted for 52% of global carbon dioxide emissions last year
And they plan on increasing the amount of CO2 they put in the air, at least until 2030. Shame on them.
Dear climate activists, stop attacking the US. Maybe attack China instead.

Hi arizona1, your numbers appear to be exit polls not the actual numbers. I will look again to see if there are actual post election numbers.
From the link I posted:
Either way, data shows that after 50 percent of white women voters in Virginia supported Biden’s Democratic candidacy last year instead of Trump’s, that number ballooned to 57 percent in favor of Youngkin on Tuesday.
On a more granular level in Virginia, both college-educated white women and those without a post-secondary education voted in droves for Youngkin, a decided reverse from the trend in which ballots were cast for the 2020 election.
Fifty-eight percent of college-educated white women in Virginia voted for Biden last year, data shows. But on Tuesday, the number of college-educated white women in Virginia supporting the Republican candidate grew to 62 percent.
Hi Arizona1, not true. According to this, Plenty of college educated women rejected the excessive activism they were hearing.
https://newsone.com/4243329/white-women-voters-virginia/
Hi Ayock, I think I mentioned that I don't think the Va. election was a referendum on Biden's performance. Maybe the Democratic congress infighting may have been an influence.
but there you go again, whether you know it or not, of accusing progressive college educated women who strongly support social justice of being racist.
its not a good strategy for getting their vote.
you're both missing the point, which is weird since its so obvious.
but lets try again ... if you insult the people who you want to vote for you .... they may decide not to vote for you.
is that clear enough ?
Hi Ayock, the Va. election was primarily decided on local issues ....
and white progressive college educated women not liking being falsely accused of being racist.
And being told not to stick their noses into how their kids are educated.
Hi Ayock, again, blaming progressive college educated women, who are very supportive of progressive causes, for not going all in with every activist demand is a losing proposition.
Both parties are on a trajectory to lose support of their rational, educated, moderate constituents.
Earth to Democrats: White women voters, not Black women, are your problem
So this opinion article starts out suggesting that the Democrats went too far left in Virginia, alienating white progressive college educated women. But as you read further, the author comes out and says that the real reason is deep down white women are racist.
Unless the Republican candidate is a koolaid drinking Trump supporter, this is not a formula for getting women to vote for a democratic candidate in 2022. (Hint: Progressive college educated women (and men by the way) don't like to be falsely accused of being racist. )
https://www.yahoo.com/news/earth-democrats-white-women-voters-210500719.html
because the accomplishments of black people are never taught in history books
You mean like George Washington Carver ? Or Frederick Douglas ?
I have no problem with a curriculum that points out what African Americans have accomplished.
By the way, we're never taught in high school all the accomplishments that China had while western Europe was in the dark ages, middle ages, and Renaissance.
But in the meantime, here's an interesting show to watch.
https://weta.org/watch/shows/how-victorians-built-britain
Hi Ayock, I'm not missing anything. But the false narrative that white kids dont know about slavery or the civil rights movement as part of their normal history classes is insulting.
WE ACTUALLY HAVE A NATIONAL HOLIDAY CELEBRATING THE MAN WHO SYMBOLIZES THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT.
So the Whoopie Goldberg belief that white people need to be re-educated is nonsense.
Speaking of education ... you know if african american kids in and around major cities didnt have a 30% high school dropout rate .... and then go on to cause 10 times more violent crime than anyone else .... just maybe there'd be less of a problem.
Yes our systemically sexist/racist society keeps electing an increasing number of women and minority candidates to public office.
I don't get it.
Ayock, I'm just pointing out that we live in an era where most people strongly believe things that simply arent true.
and no matter how many times you keep saying it, I've always proven you wrong.
The election was stolen, the vaccine doesnt work, it's all Reagan's fault ..... in the 21st Century, there's no penalty for believing things that aren't true.
I saw this on CNN earlier today ... President Joe Biden pushed Russia and Saudi Arabia to increase oil production, blaming the oil-heavy countries for rising gas prices in the United States.
I thought the idea was to burn less oil ... you know .... to save the planet. Not that it can be saved if China keeps increasing the amount of CO2 its putting into the atmosphere.
Hi Ayock, lol the Dept. of Interior building instead of the Chinese Embassy. Funny how quickly you've forgotten about it.
Police and climate activists hurt in clashes at Interior Dept.
Climate demonstrators were attempting to occupy the Interior Department, with dozens entering the Stewart Lee Udall Main Interior Building on C Street NW. Those who remained outside clashed with police as they tried to keep the one unlocked door open. At times, protesters attempted to push past the police line.

Did you know that in Jan 2019 the US had 58,000 wind turbines and as of Jan 2021 it had 67,000 of them ?
and plans have been in place for some time for gigawatts upon gigawatts of offshore wind farms ? most recently:
https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/13/politics/biden-offshore-wind-plans/index.html
At least the media (CNN) is finally pointing out that CHINA is the worst CO2 offender and will increase how offensive it is until 2030.
and those kookie activists ..... clearly stormed the wrong building.
Hi Al, normally I would agree with Adam Baldwin and if you've ever seen an episode of "Chuck" he's handled more weapons in an hour than most of us do in a decade. And we all live by the rules to treat every gun as if its loaded and never point a gun at someone or something unless you're planning on pulling the trigger.
But in the Alex Baldwin case, these rules dont apply. First and most obvious, he's expected to point the gun and pull the trigger and something or someone.
Second, he was told by someone whose job it is to prepare firearms safely that the gun didnt have live rounds. If he hadnt been told this then yes, he would be at fault.
Third, there are 3 types of rounds: blanks, dummy bullets, and live rounds. Even if he had inspected the revolver, how would he know what type of ammo was in the chamber unless he unloaded it and reloaded it ? Should be mess with an 1880s gun ? Is he expected to be able to tell the difference ?
The real blame and root cause goes to whomever thought it was a good idea to have so much live ammo on set that made the situation an accident waiting to happen. So the right answer, as it almost always is, is to take human error out of the equation and make live rounds on set illegal.
Hi Ayock, thanks for agreeing with me.
The protests that erupted after the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis were also an important factor, in 2020, although experts differ about why. Some argue that the police, under intense scrutiny and demoralized, pulled back from some aspects of crime prevention. Others put the emphasis on the public, suggesting that diminished respect for the police prompted more people to try to take the law into their own hands.
“The distrust of police, the low morale among police, the fact that the police are being less proactive because they are legitimately worried about being backed up by their superiors” were all contributing factors, Mr. Winograd said.

I think you and ChrisJP should exchange PMs. You might have found a kindred spirit where you can exchange conspiracy websites.
Your inability to distinguish between "climate change is a hoax" and "China has been responsible for the global warming for the past 15 years" is disturbing.
Hi Arizona1, your need to dismiss my facts as opinions is .... sad. Here they are again, so please stop calling them opinions.
The US has spent an enormous amount of money supporting and elevating african americans over the past 40 years. That's not an opinion - its a fact. And you know it. This is not something that would have happened in a systemically racist society. And the results of this spending have been significant.
Women are 55% of college graduates and make 98% of what men make for the same job and same performance. These are not opinions - they are facts. And you know it. Gender pay inequality is one of the progressives "big lies".
For the past 15 years the US has decreased its CO2 output by 15% putting it back to 1995 levels. Meanwhile, China's CO2 output has gone through the roof - exceeding all industrialized nations COMBINED and they plan on INCREASING their coal burning power plants until 2030. These are not opinions - they are facts. And you know it. So protesting the US government's so-called "inaction" on global warming is foolishness. But I would support protests against China. By the way, while we are endlessly reminded that african americans in the former confederacy were slaves 160 years ago - China is CURRENTLY oppressing and enslaving its Muslim population in western China. https://www.democracynow.org/2020/1/9/inside_chinas_push_to_turn_muslim
Politicians - especially Trump and his media supporters - and the media on the left and right have done a great job turning Americans against each other. To the delight of China and Russia.
Hi arizona1, I'm used to you dismissing facts you dont want to accept as opinions.
Kinda like people who need to believe the election was stolen .... or that the Covid vaccine doesnt work.
The facts I cited are irrefutable and yet you insist on refuting them. Which keeps bringing us back to this post:
https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=166486412
Hi Ayock, I agree. It is real problem that requires action by everyone (see: Paris Climate Accord)
And the US has taken action, for the past 15 years we've been systematically shutting down our coal burning power plants and replacing them with renewables. And we continue to do so. To the point where our CO2 output currently is now back at 1995 levels and dropping. And yet progressives are either oblivious or in denial of this fact.
Meanwhile the so called Paris Climate Accord lets out of control China continue to increase its out of control coal burning to a point where no amount of reductions on our part will have any positive effect.
There's principles and then there's practices. Progressives may have good intentions, but their demands for how to address them are harmful.
Hi bbotcs, my issue is that progressives demand we move to more expensive renewables while China gets to burn more and more cheap coal for the next decade .... and beyond.
Without demanding China shutdown their coal burning powerplants immediately, all other global warming efforts are a waste of time. And allows China to conquer us and Europe economically .... and then politically.
