Welcome ImjinBridger!
TOTALLY UNTRUE!!!
It clearly states "Pararamid fiber".
That is not silk.
DS is stronger than most spider drag line silk.
That does not make it the highest tensile strength fiber in the world.
There are several other factors involved such as weight, elasticity, etc.

WOW Super bad choice of image Truth!
The artist who drew that obviously was totally unaware of the meaning of the word!
A bottleneck is a narrowing of the pipeline, not a widening
Mike L.
Very pretty site!
Beautiful images!
A really professional grade of Hype!
Zero facts.
Zero numbers.
Zero current information.
100% forward looking information.
And of course since they are a private untraded non-reporting company
Zero guarantee or expectation of honesty.
Mike L.
Well I hope they know what they are doing because Bolt is not telling!
All 3 rounds of financing are "at unknown valuation"!
It seems like bolt is selling itself again and again!
Mike L.
Do you see this as a positive thing for Refactored/Bolt???
It is obviously NOT a positive thing for their shareholders!
The percentage of total equity involved in each of these new stock issues is not known to me, but given the escalation in dollar amounts from $5 million in 2014 to $82 million in 2015 this represents a potential dilution of previous investors holdings by ~1000% to 2000% !
Do you have market cap figures for Refactored/Bolt that would more accurately show their rate of dilution?
Since they are not a publicly traded company, and therefore not required to report anything, these numbers are not available to me.
Mike L.
Correct!
CRISPR, Like Zinc Fingers is a very general purpose tool for "gene splicing".
It will find all sorts of uses, many we can not even imagine, from cancer and hemophilia cures, to textiles, to turkeys with 12 drumsticks
Mike L.
CRISPR-Cas is a tool.
It was implied in the CC that KBLB is already investigating its use.
CRISPR-Cas may be better than Zinc Finger CompoZr or vice versa, the jury is still out on that.
NOTE: much of the appeal of CRISPER is due not to its quality/ability/consistency vs.ZF but to its greater availability at lower cost.
Whichever tool is better for KBLB's purposes, that is what they will use, or a combination of the two and or other tools that are becoming available.
Sangamo (the inventors and sellers of ZF CompoZr) needs to worry about the rise of CRISPR-Cas and other new competitive tools, KBLB does not.
If anything it will help KBLB both by making new sorts of transgenic products achievable and by holding down the costs associated with ZF via competition.

Response to a post from ZincFinger on another source:
but this one showed up in a random walk on utube, the legit ones rarely do.
(it was a follow-on to the spider silk sensors video posted yesterday)
Never claimed this was "High Quality".
Very little on utube is.
But it is nice to be put ahead of the goats by anyone.
and any publicity is good publicity.
Mike L.
Utube recognition!
Just a mention as their #6, but for a change it is Spider silkworms, NOT goats!
Some of their pictures look to be copied from KBLB's site.

notice where and from whom this story comes,
Can there be any doubts or arguments left to you?
(Self Serving Statements)
Mike L.
ANSWER THE QUESTION Abom!
You made a statement that is provably incorrect.
I asked you to show me any support for your statement.
your response was:..."don't really seem to matter to the respective parties and entities involved with them"...
So is this an admission that your statement was FALSE?
Or just an attempt to avoid answering my request for any supporting FACT?
It is "disingenuous" to knowingly make unsupportable false statements in the hope that no one will call your bluff.
Mike L.
Hi Abom,
You said:
Randy Lewis is Really Really good at writing grant proposals and getting government grants.
This in and of itself is a very important skill for a university researcher.
You must remember that as an academic RL's goals are different from those of Kim T.and KBLB and by extension ours.
We seek to produce a salable product or process and gain the rewards of such successes.
RL seeks to keep his research funded and gain monetary support for himself, his lab and graduate students and his university employer.
For us monies to support our research and development are a means to an end.
For RL, such support IS the end.
This is the essential difference between industrial R&D and academic R&D.

Judgements are easy, Money is difficult. (in some cases)
To get money for patent infringement the infringing party must have or be making money!
Entogenetics has no money and no product.
I wish Spiber would infringe our patents
Mike L.
Interesting!
They claim priority based upon two early applications from 2008
(KBLB priority dates are 2010, 2011)
But those earlier Brigham applications were denied I believe due to failure to reduce to practice.
In this filing they DO NOT Reference the UND patents, but they say that they used Fraser's PiggyBAC transposons to reduce to practice!
This is very conflicted as PiggyBAC was part of the UND patents.
It seems disingenuous to claim priority over another patent that you used to RTP your patent claims.
IMHO this should not have been granted, but it is not uncommon for conflicting patents to be granted.
The conflicts are resolved in court defenses.
I am happy to know that OUR CEO is a patent attorney!

Very Interesting!
Send this to Malcolm Fraser please.
I wonder how high the tensile / toughness numbers will be for a Dragon Silk(TM) worm fed Graphene supplements?
Mike L.
If Thuan's silkworms can weave blankets, could she get Monster Silk(TM) worms or Dragon Silk(TM) worms to weave Parachutes?
Or BigRed (TM) worms to weave protective soft armor?
Mike L.
Hi Truth,
You misunderstood what I said about time interval.
Excellent points Ray0,
From all that we know now it is likely that production CAPACITY is truly at metric tons, quarterly or annually if not weekly or monthly.
No time interval was given, people here just made eager overoptimistic assumptions about this as about so much else!
People also assumed that this was the end of the road, that those metric tons of raw silk would just magically be sold to market.
(See my signature cartoon - those who are ignorant of the details of creation always assume that they are trivial, because they are someone else's problem.)
We now know that KBLB Chose not to produce at maximum levels because they could not handle that volume properly at the pilot location.
We know that they are capable of producing consistently High quality in smaller batches.
With better and broader infrastructure such as that available in Vietnam KBLB should therefore be able to produce much larger batches while maintaining High quality.
Mike L.
Hi King,
These are folow-ons to the patent applications originally filed in 2011 as priority of invention place holders.
They provide more specifics and are re written to improve the ease of granting and improve protection but are still related to the original invention of Monster Silk, not later ZFN based fiber transgenics.
Mike L.
Wow, Just when you thought he was out of the game,RANDY LEWIS scores another big one!
RL has been having a hard time lately.
The Utah state legislature investigated where all their money was going at USTAR and found that RL was getting a lot of it based upon claims and promises that he had no hope of fulfilling.
The Utah state Teat was running dry!
But Randy is one of the best Hype artists in the world, and he has fond another teat to suck on, a big one!
The company mentioned is just a front for Randy.
This is an SBIR grant and to receive one of those you need to be a company of less than a certain size.
USU does not qualify, probably neither does ArachniteK.
So a new company was created on paper for the sole purpose of applying for this grant, not an uncommon or illegal practice, I was involved in one of these myself about 12 years ago.
The money is going to RL, Both to support his lab and some as direct salary as an employee of the new company.

In Emeryville, a city close to San Francisco, the researchers studied the proteins which make up the spider silk. They then developed their own proteins “inspired” by the natural silk.
No imel, a forward split increases the number of shares and reduces the PPS.
A reverse split Decreases the number of shares and increases the value of each share (PPS).
So $150 PPS to $15 PPS is a 10:1 forward split.
