OT. "Judge not lest ye be judged".
I won't support anything the Gay community stands for anymore. In this town there are two members of the city council (one lesbian) whose attacks on the boyscouts are vindictive and hateful in their efforts to ban the boyscouts from city property. Members of this community calling them nazi youth, city police targeting them in ticket sweeps while bypassing others.
Tolerance and forced acceptance are two diffrent things. Hate agendas are not. I don't take it from the christian right and I certainly don't take it from the politcaly correct.
My gay friends know exactly I feel about this.
Ironicly most of us are live and let live kind of people and on that we agree.

State electric grid in need of a tuneup
Thursday, April 15, 2004
By Bill Toland, Post-Gazette Harrisburg Bureau
HARRISBURG -- Pennsylvania's electrical transmission grid is reliable but in need of some fine-tuning, and isn't immune to future blackouts like the one that darkened much of the Northeast last summer, according to testimony from the chairman of the state's Public Utility Commission.
There is no perfect electrical generation and delivery system, said PUC Chairman Terrance Fitzgerald, which is why "we need to do everything we reasonably can to prevent [blackouts]," despite the system's overall clean bill of health.
He offered his testimony Tuesday at a Senate consumer protection hearing on blackout prevention and electric service reliability.
Though Pennsylvania's grid is by and large reliable, the PUC this year has opened separate investigations into the service quality offered by the Metropolitan Edison Co., Pennsylvania Power Co. and the Pennsylvania Electric Co., all of which are owned by Ohio-based FirstEnergy Corp., Fitzgerald said.
The ongoing probe will investigate the number and duration of power outages to determine whether FirstEnergy met the PUC's reliability standards.
In November, a joint U.S.-Canadian task force concluded that FirstEnergy was mostly to blame for the August blackout.
Public evidentiary hearings related to the PUC probe are being held through today.
Tuesday's Senate hearing came just a week after the same joint task force released its second-phase recommendations for improving electricity transmission in North America. One of the recommendations calls for greater regional cooperation among electric companies, an area where Pennsylvania is ahead of the game, thanks to PJM Interconnection, a Valley Forge-based regional transmission group.
PJM brokers electricity transactions and runs power grids operating in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland and elsewhere.
Frank Koza, a manager with PJM, said it's his firm's responsibility to "balance supply second by second" and forecast daily demand.
"Regional planning is essential," Koza said.
Pennsylvania, especially the southwestern part of the state, also has a dense supply of high-voltage transmission lines, meaning the grid isn't as easily overloaded on hot, high-use days.
On the whole, he said, long-range investment into transmission infrastructure -- power lines, transformer substations, computer control centers -- is prudent, but a total overhaul on Pennsylvania's distribution grid is unnecessary.
Some disagree with the more rosy diagnosis, including Nora Mead Brownell, who sits on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and is a former PUC board member. She says since 1992, when a federal energy restructuring law was passed, there's been precious little investment in new transmission lines across the United States and in Pennsylvania.
Those lines may hold up for now, but "are not capable of supporting a digital economy over a long period of time," Brownell said.

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2004--FindEx.com, Inc. (OTCBB:FIND - News) announced results for the year ended December 31, 2003 and for the fourth quarter.
Net sales for the year ended December 31, 2003 increased 12% to $4,390,757 from sales of $3,908,694 for the year ended December 31, 2002. During 2003 the Company had several non-recurring items take place totaling approximately $1,390,000 which positively effected net income. These non-recurring items had no effect on the cash flow statement. Accordingly, net income increased from $216,978 in the year ended December 31, 2002 to $1,841,499 for the year ended December 31, 2003. Net of the non-recurring items, our net income increased approximately $235,000 from a net income of approximately $217,000 for the year ended December 31, 2002 to a net income of approximately $452,000 for the year ended December 31, 2003. Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS) increased from $.01 for the year ended December 31, 2002 to $.09 for the year ended December 31, 2003.
For the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2003 the Company reported net sales of $1,801,937 as compared to $976,228 for the quarter ended December 31, 2002. This represented an increase in sales of 84%. Net income increased $1,255,460 for the quarter from a net income of $93,603 in the fourth quarter of 2002 to net income of $1,349,063 in the fourth quarter of 2003.
Commenting on the year, Steven Malone, FindEx's Chairman and President stated, "While pleased with results, we had hoped to realize a better outcome. We believe the delay experienced in releasing QuickVerse 8, our flagship product, cost the Company an additional million dollars in revenue. However, we have made provisions so that we should not experience significant product release delays moving forward."
"As for the future, we are very encouraged by the direction we are heading in 2004 and beyond. We have rebuilt our development team and are continuing to add new talent. We have expanded our sales and marketing team, and embarked on an aggressive product development and marketing schedule that we feel will achieve substantially greater results for us in the year to come. Lastly, we are pleased to have finally settled our dispute with the Zondervan Corporation, and we hope to one day work with them again."
In discussing the operating results of the Company, Kirk Rowland, Chief Financial Officer for FindEx stated, "We improved our profitability from operations, doubled our net income after removing the non-recurring items, and continued our positive cash flow from operations. This allowed us to improve our working capital and make significant progress into the next phase of our corporate growth strategy. The non-recurring items, while not providing any cash, did result in approximately $1,390,000 of additional net income and an improvement in our balance sheet."
