Yep, glad I'm watching as that end of day sell-off had a bite. It does seem to have a daily trend up till 1:00 then a sell off but I'll still watch...
You did good to get a little profit! I don't think the small bumps are worth the risk and don't know how low this will go ... thats the big question! Aside from a couple longs, I'm mostly out of market and in cash waiting for a bottom now -- not risking on either T nor S at the moment and the little S I do have I may sell soon. I have NP waiting!
If you picked up around $49 then you're up from that today but like I said, lower high and lower lows is near term trend ... enough volatility to make small chunks if you're watching it closely but understand the trend is overall down still. I have a small chunk of S in a play account but waiting this out.
So I have successfully average down before ... it can certainly work longer term.
With the massive drops, we may see a small rebound before slide continues to find a bottom. So possible to make a few $$ on that bounce (and future bounces) but seems lower highs and lower lows is the near term forecast so preceed with caution, that is, be happy with smaller gains on bumps! Can't knock making a couple percent every few days in a downward trend as it can add up to big gains on a annual basis vise to just hold where you will have to be prepared for huge paperwork losses untill recovery (if it does). Not a bad strategy but rather a time consuming tricky one.
Well the cash move saved me over well over $8k today alone! Wow! I'll watch the nas mini futures Sunday to see if still time to move to SQQQ but everything can change over a weekend! GLTY and everyone!
And that would be by March! Always good to have a little leeway in your predictions, but to be honest, I thought the same thing when he texted it ... and more now!
Yea I'm still here as like playing these but I'm just not in right grove. Maybe we'll have some good news after weekend?
For what you said about doing the opposite of what they say ... yes! So Cathy wood been pumping tech and saying value is the buble ... then come to find her ark funds sold off 2/3 of their hot tesla holdings. And the hype of a 1-2 percent interest rate hike is a joke to anyone who remembers double digit interest rates. Lots to say but your right!
I just decided to go mostly cash ... even dumped my oil stock. I figure I can buy back cheaper. Sold TQQQ open market (I never ... now almost never do market orders ) at just under $60 for big loss. Sooooo guess it will go up now...
I had many GTC buys out there with zero action (eventually just gave up) so I know how hard it can be. I might try again though as seems there is some action now.
Think there is something not right about your numbers??? But speaking of numbers, some sites, like this one, are showing it down today 50%. Then others sites are showing it right but post numbers show 100% gains ... funny how easy things can mess with the numbers lol
Nice grab for a hard to acquire stock as surprised anyone is selling for someone to buy at these prices! Congrats!
It will open tomorrow around $76 so not much of a prediction lol. $80 tomorrow would be nice though.
It's always worth watching and I can see a number of reasons to in this case. You never quite know when a catalyst will hit and, of course, if not watching can miss. I was just under the impression you were considering and/or pulling the trigger and didnt see it at this time so I spoke up - sorry. TommyBoy invited me to check his board out so was doing some and have been doing some.
CHEK looks like a dive bomb ... .10 off low of .58 ... trying to catch a falling knife doesn't usually end well ... wait for technicals/news to say buy ... not seeing it. IMO
Agree, I said that last year too. There is no need to make any issue over 50k shares... or 100k shares. That is like arguing about pennies when 1000s of dollars are involved.
I'm not posting much, but I'm still holding and will continue ... dont post cuz just that not alot of "new" to say that already hasn't been said.
I have thoughts, what i do, but even in physics/math there are limits and bounds ... in you example its escape velocity!
But you are so right on stocks. PE ratio used to have meaning and thus so did fundamentals. Fundamentals gave way to technicals long ago. IMO use both when only both makes sence. But there is a much bigger driver in markets called sentiment.
Fact seem to say the markets are more moved by sentiment that anything else. If the sentiment isn't there, even the best stocks will fall ... and if the sentiment is there all but even the worst stock will Excell. Sentiment just doesn't care about fundamentals nor technicals. Sentiment is so powerful that analysis will rationalize some current event is pushing the market direction even if it makes zero sence ... and many people will believe it. The certainty of sentiment is it will change.
So, some actually bought and held TQQQ throughout 2021 with great returns. I think 2022 is going to be different though and much more playing the up and down cycles ... chart it and you can see it happening near end of 2021. And ofcourse, the idea of a big correction comming in tech.
Interest rates, QE, taper and inflation is a tough one. Interest rates been so low for so long that people forget historic rates that once exceeded 20% with long term averages around 8%. And ofcourse, National debt skyrocket ... all debt did cause money was cheap. Historically, the FED tightens the money supply by raising interest to slow the economy/inflation and lowers in time of resession to bump the economy -- rates being so low took that resession tool away. Also, as you noted, the treasury (not to be confused with FED) doesn't take in enough taxes to pay the interest on debt at historic average interest rates. All I can say is it's a nasty economic stew we'll have to eat at some time.
Sqqq was good move, well it moved good. I'm just not to sure tqqq isn't resetting down more. It's a good entry point if just a bump but like you said earlier, may be better to see what big boys do.
$5.75! Lots of buy/sell action in QQQ Eearley... wondering who is doing buying and who selling ... and why!
If you just add up all the reported buys, then subtract the reported sells for the year, there is just an unbelievable amount short ... don't know if it's 9B shares as my ape brain too small to count that high but it's huge! I think there will be government intervention at some point because no entity or group of entities has the trillions in capital to cover that. Aside from bankrupting AMC, he only possible way out i see is to buy AMC and and make it private but don't think that will happen.
Ummmm with a 1:5 split on Jan 13, the price will easily be in $25-$35 range so begs what you mean by $14.
Personally, this is a long for me so down 30% is just paper loss. And I can load up here so as to leverage down, although I haven't yet (emphasize yet). Having shown growth and profits (rarity in industries big names) I feel this is a good long term investment -- they are on top of things! Stocks go up and down, what they do, so while being down substantially is curently a disappointment, I feel good for the long term. My 2 cents ... Any reason I shouldn't????
You can do both ... probably should ... just saying. But was a good week for SPY due to Santa. Anyway, just here seeing what you have going on. Back to reading...
I think the second scenero is highly possible (the santa thing) ... $180? ... but we are in volatile market and I would expect good downward retracement to follow ... early January?
I suspect 2022 going to be a lot of ups and down along a lateral market untill first rate hike hits. Oprotunity in TQQQ and SQQQ to capitalize on these waves. Yes, markets will make a big deal on rate hikes but reality is interest remains near zero with hikes ... certainly far biger concerns in ecconomy and markets to be worried about ... and then there is that big crash ... didn't happen in 2021 so maybe 2022? And again all just opprotunity!
I'm still holding too...
Good post!
Don't know but TQQQ sure looks bullish!
Certainly true in the past and usually carries into the new year. But also know the past is no true indication of the future. Either way I'm in so certainly hope your right!
So you're saying maybe good time to reload fridat/monday?
That was last Wednesday's news and they were predicting rise in index ... well should be good gains at Mondays open but could be volatile!
Trading implies there is not only a catalyst to buy/sell but also stock to buy and sell. I just think there's very little to buy/sell. I might put in 100k buy at .3 and see what happens ... still a good price to be accumulating. In the past when I did that it ran up to my buy but I didn't accumulate much (I had GTC buys in that rang that bought zero) meaning there's not alot to buy. Face is Jake and big owners own this and not selling ... usually a good sign but doesn't leave a lot to buy.
Perhaps so! Market is crazy volatile right now ... verge of crash? Or just volatile? If we could figure that out we would all be rich!
I saw in the news that markets down big due to new African COVID variants. Really? Does anyone really believe that? Or any news that comes out these days? Or, could it be, well, maybe, there is just not any good reasons for it to be going up? Ow well, it's going to be a heck of a ride!
Lol. Seem a lot closer to $100 then that $4 you were talking about ... just saying!
Yep! And I hold!
sound off!: So Who's in and Who's out? And if your playing volatility (day trade more or less) or longer term (for correction crash)?
Everyone says eventual correction/crash is inevitable (a given?) but nobody can say when <or> by how much <or> what the catalyst will be. As for catalyst, there's certainly been plenty that could-have-would-have but left nasdaq unphased. And at the moment it seems to be be more volatile action then correction/crash.
So wondering if your in/out, your rationales, and short/long a short? Ill start: I'm in and for correction/crash but now doubting its time and thinking of just play volatility.
Hope ya right cuz, and dang it, I'm back in.
Yea few in MJ space are officially making money. I thought ACB was on the ball early on, but they over did growth and loosing millions. Glad I dumped it ... I don't think they can recover personally, though they take pride in only loosing 23M last I read. But there are a couple in MJ space that doing well. Showing growth is better than profit though ... WSHE seems to be doing both.
Just watched AMC on CNBC ... a rerun but enjoyed ... had Aaron,Tray, Matt and more. If you haven't seen its a must watch. Go apes! Yea I'm still in but I'm not following much so will probably miss MOASS when it happens but that's not why I'm in. Go Apes!
Ah, that's where he gets them lol
