It needed to be done starting July 12.
Wholeheartedly agree, kk!

Kunstler:
What You Don't Know Might Surprise You
“One debate doesn’t change the issues Americans are facing every day.” — James Rickards
James Howard Kunstler
Sep 13, 2024
Pre-blog Note: Some of you may have noticed that my regular website, www.kunstler.com, vanished from the Internet all week. We have been frustrated trying to get straight answers from the host company, only vague references to “a hardware problem.” We begin to suspect that the Three-letter boys might have seized the server unit my website lived on last Sunday night. We’re standing by on further developments. For now, the blog is still here for you on Substack, Fridays and Mondays. Thanks for your support through this difficulty.
By now, you’ve probably heard enough debate about The Debate, so I’ll spotlight only a few points everybody else left out. You might know this, but Hollywood plays a larger role in the Kamala campaign than just stuffing the endorsements of celebs such as George Clooney, Taylor Swift, and John Legend into the corporate media tank. In fact, much bigger playas, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg, are producing and directing things backstage at Kamala Central, so what gets in the Kamala news plays as a Spielberg movie like The Color Purple. Just so you know. . . .
Ms. Harris had the advantage Tuesday night of being able to speak in declarative sentences, while her opponent, Mr. Trump, is given, shall we say, to a more choppy, telegraphic speech delivery. It lent Ms. Harris the appearance of being intelligent. The catch was, everything she said was disingenuous or an outright lie.
One whopper — more significant than you might realize — was her stating that she was in the US Capitol building when the J-6 riot happened. You’d think she’d want to be on-hand there, seeing as a joint session of Congress was about to certify her as the first female veep in US history — a chance to be joyful and shine! But, in fact, at 11:15a.m. on 1/6/21 — hours before protesters breached the Capitol — Kamala Harris was spirited away a few blocks to 430 South Capitol Street, the headquarters building of the Democratic National Committee, where a pipe bomb (or facsimile of one) had been planted hours before by some DC law enforcement person (Capitol police? FBI? DC Metro Police? A paid “contractor” to the preceding outfits?). The exact identity of the culprit has never been released by the FBI, though they have all the perp’s cell phone data and closed circuit TV footage.
The plan, you see, was to disrupt the election certification process underway at mid-day in the House chamber by creating a furor over the discovery of the pipe bomb planted to assassinate veep-elect Kamala Harris — a joint blob / Democratic Party operation. The pipe bomb ruse, it turned out, was never needed because the FBI-instigated riot at the Capitol created a big disruption just in time to send the politicians scurrying for safety and cancel scrutiny of various state’s electors’ reports.
After that scare, the Senators and Congressmen did, in fact, drop the certification challenge and returned to hurriedly finish the certification process later that night of 1/6/21. The pipe bomb story barely made the news, and the scant news about it was expeditiously memory-holed thereafter. After nearly four years, as averred to above, the FBI has come up with. . . nothing. It is important that you understand just how nefarious your federal agencies are, and how corrupt the news is.
Now, as for the Harris-Trump debate, otherwise, and given the rigged features of the exercise, it’s obvious that Mr. Trump muffed several major scoring opportunities. When Ms. Harris dredged up the notorious hoax about “very fine people on both sides” in Charlottesville, Mr. Trump could have addressed the moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis and asked them why they did not “fact-check” the utterance, which had been thoroughly debunked by the Left-wing site Snopes.com, advertising itself as “the definitive Internet reference source for researching urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation.” Nor did they fact check the likewise debunked “suckers and losers” hoax about US soldiers supposedly uttered by Mr. Trump at the Normandy D-Day cemetery. Actually, Muir and Davis “fact-checked” Mr. Trump over thirty times and Ms. Harris hardly at all.
In any case, Mr. Trump blew many other chances to pin Ms. Harris with her own lies and hypocrisies — like, failing to state plainly that in nearly four years she never actually visited the Mexican border (whatever her designated title was: “Border Czar,” “Root Causes Detective”) . . . failing to clarify that the president has been removed from the abortion debate altogether and has no role in telling women what to do with their own bodies under current law. . . that Ms. Harris’s voteless selection as nominee was a paradigmatic affront to “our democracy” that even her own fellow party members ought to recognize . . . that the War in Ukraine was actually started in early 2014 by Barack Obama, Victoria Nuland, and the CIA, not by Mr. Putin . . . and omitting to state that all — every last one — of the 2020 election lawsuits across the nation were dismissed on procedural grounds and not on the merits of their arguments, which were never heard in court. That’s just a short list. It is also rumored that Ms. Harris got the debate questions beforehand, since her husband, Hollywood lawyer Doug Emhoff, is a close friend of Dana Walden, Co-chair of the Disney Corporation board of directors (Disney owns ABC-News.)
Anyway, that much-awaited event is over now and we are into the homestretch of this election. Kamala Harris has still shown no disposition to meet the press, to answer any questions impromptu and unscripted. The voting public seems to be losing patience with that. Her poll numbers are sinking, despite her admirable ability to speak in declarative sentences and lead joyful laugh-fests.
What remains for our sore-beset country beyond that vortex of nefarious blobbery and balloting lawfare is the interesting development that our government is now pressing to commence World War Three before the election can happen. “Joe Biden,” of course, is lately as absent from the public consciousness as Rutherford B. Hayes, but whoever acts in the president’s name these days just gave permission for Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with long-range missiles. So far, the UK and the Netherlands have officially jumped in on that decision.
Note that the Ukrainians have no ability to actually do the targeting of said missile themselves, which involves satellite technology, meaning whatever missiles happen to get fired into Russia will be done by NATO personnel. Mr. Putin has made it clear that such action will have consequences. We might infer that means Russia will strike back at some NATO targets. I must imagine his primary target will be NATO headquarters in Brussels. Other targets would probably follow, perhaps even in the USA. Prepare to duck-and-cover, or possibly to put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.

Men are from Mars....
Why Men Hate Kamala
Male voters were alienated by the "Joy" convention.
September 13, 2024 by Daniel Greenfield 55 Comments
The “joy” is fading in the Kamala campaign as the latest polls show that the gap is closing.
And Kamala’s biggest problem is the men. White men. Black men. Young men.
Gen Z has the largest gender gap of any age group with young men supporting Trump by margins similar to those of older men. Black men and Hispanic men have been the hardest minority groups to persuade into the Kamala camp. A New York Times article last month blamed lagging black male support for Kamala on the ‘misogynoir’ that black men were suffering from.
Why is Kamala doing so poorly among men? One hint comes from polling numbers showing that white men went from supporting Trump by 13 points before the DNC convention to 21 points afterward. “Joy”, “brat summer” and all the efforts to brand a presidential campaign like the Barbie movie backfired making Kamala into ‘Barbie’ and Trump into ‘Oppenheimer’.
It’s not just the vibe, climaxing in Oprah’s convention appearance, that’s turning off men, the vibe is a symptom of the real problem not only with the campaign, but the candidate.
Kamala is a lightweight politician running on feelings at a time when men need something more solid. The “joy” theme told votes to turn off their brains, join the party and stop worrying. TikTok dances make a certain kind of voter gush while completely alienating another kind of voter.
Having “brat summer” inflicted on you when you’re cutting back on groceries is salt in the wound. A trivial campaign is insulting to those who are suffering and falling behind on bills.
But TikTok dances are the whole reason why Kamala is here.
Swapping out Biden for Kamala wasn’t about shifting the issues, but the personalities. Despite her disavowals of most of her past views, like banning cars, health insurance and plastic straws, and the random adoption of some Trump economic proposals, the Democrat presidential ticket is still fundamentally the same on the issues as it was in May 2024. All that’s new is the vibe.
In polls, men are statistically more likely to vote on issues, and women on personal characteristics. The Kamala coup offers new personal characters, but not issues.
The DNC had no new platform. Its platform was considered so irrelevant that no one got around to editing it to remove mentions of Biden’s second term. The Kamala campaign only added an ‘issues’ section to its website days before the upcoming presidential debate. The message is that issues don’t matter, what does matter is that Kamala is like the best friend you never had.
And Trump is a mean old man.
Kamala is hardly the first politician to run on personality, not issues, but in the middle of an economic crisis, a crime crisis, and record low levels of public insecurity about the future, her glib positivity and shallow narcissism have fired up upscale liberal women while turning off men: especially working class men of all races concerned about being able to earn a living.
The 2024 convention and the campaign’s Zoom groups, like the DNC 2020 convention, felt like a party for members of the laptop class, a pep rally for a clique convinced of its specialness, rather than an address to the nation. That’s why not just white men, but many black men feel uniquely disconnected from a campaign for a woman seeking to be the second black president.
Obama branded his campaign as a larger racial and national achievement, but Kamala’s campaign, like Hillary’s, never feels like it’s about anything except her. Very few black men buy into the idea that Kamala in the White House will mean anything for them. That would be bad at the best of times, but it’s catastrophic during an economic crisis and crushing inflation.
The unhappy truth about Kamala is that she has no idea how to talk to anyone outside the upper class social strata in which she began her career. Her fake persona as everyone’s best friend was ideally suited to Nob Hill socialites but wore out its welcome in any contested election. Fortunately for her it’s been a long time since Kamala had to run for public office in a truly competitive election and never in an election that people were actually paying attention to.
Putting together her campaign like a Taylor Swift concert series created the illusion of populism. Republican ineptitude kept her opponents from being able to define her, but instead she disastrously defined herself around vacuous cheerfulness and TikTok memes.
Kamala locked in Gen Z women and locked out male voters.
Democrats and their media are busy blaming sexism, but the issue isn’t resentment of women, but a candidate and a campaign incapable of talking to voters outside of her very narrow social circle and circle of preferences. Biden’s campaign trail behavior could be bizarre, but Kamala’s is just that of a blue city shut in who can’t help condescendingly speaking to everyone else.
Kamala compensates for her inadequacies not by getting to know other people, but by accusing them of racism and sexism. Toward the end of her failing primary campaign, Kamala Harris had complained, “Is America ready for that? Are they ready for a woman of color to be President of the United States?” Whenever Kamala’s campaign hits a wall, it still brings out the same line.
Rather than considering how Kamala could better reach beyond her circle, the campaign’s political allies demean men, even black men, as bigots. Americans are not there to empower the narcissistic political ambitions of any candidate regardless of which groups she belongs to.
It’s the other way around.
Political fandom, cults of personality whose members convince themselves that they’re part of something bigger, are un-American and were rejected as evil by the Founding Fathers. Political representatives exist for the sake of people, people do not exist for the sake of politicians.
Celebrities turn people into fans by manufacturing a false sense of intimacy. Kamala acts like she’s running to be America’s best friend, not the person tasked with fixing its problems. Some have been won over by the “joy” routine, but others, especially men, are not interested in pretending that a millionaire politician who notices them every 4 years is their best friend.
Kamala’s fake smiles, fake laughs and fake friendship are turning off men of all ages and races. And there’s no joy in coconutville as “brat summer” turns to falling poll fall.

After the smoke clears and the propogandists settle down, Paul Ingrassia sums it up:
Donald Trump, in vintage form, emerged out of ABC’s lions’ den victorious
written by Paul Ingrassia September 11, 2024
Op-ed by Paul Ingrassia
President Trump delivered a vintage debate performance last night, taking on not only Kamala Harris, but ABC’s two debate monitors, David Muir and Linsey Davis, whose hostile questions and fact-checking primarily, if not exclusively, were directed at the 45th President. The 45th President displayed a masterclass in polemics to over 50 million viewers – with fair-minded commentators ranking it among one of the President’s best.
He repeatedly drilled down on the issues that matter to voters this election season – above all, Kamala’s catastrophic border crisis, which has unleashed tens of millions of criminal invaders into the country with impunity, bringing lethal drugs like fentanyl as well as unprecedented barbarity, including drug cartels and human trafficking, which have no analogue in American history.
The tenor of the President’s remarks and style were apropos the gravity and extraordinarily high stakes of this election cycle: fierce yet reserved, intense yet thoughtful, serious and sober. In sharp contrast, Kamala Harris reeked of juvenility and weakness throughout, nervously trying to cackle herself out of uncomfortable situations addressing problems for which she is chiefly responsible. This includes the outbreak of the Ukraine War that observed Vladimir Putin send troops into Eastern Europe just three days after she was tasked by Joe Biden to broker peace in the region.
This was in response to Putin sensing her weakness, a point that President Trump stressed, as well as observing just months prior Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. The catastrophic pullout directly caused the deaths of 13 American troops and left millions of dollars of equipment behind for dangerous terrorists to swoop up – this country’s greatest foreign policy blunder in living memory.
Moreover, the President dealt another haymaker when he excoriated Kamala’s mismanagement of the border when she was designated as the Biden administration’s “border czar.” The President pulled no punches when he declared, “[The migrants are] eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats, they’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” referring to an influx of recent Haitian arrivals in Springfield, Ohio, who have been reported – and corroborated by a police report, despite the gaslighting of ABC’s erroneous “fact-checkers” – to be eating American pets, bringing the barbaric and uncivilized practices of the Third World to these shores.
Speaking of third world barbarity, the President delivered another blow to Biden and Harris when he attacked their record on the economy, which has resulted in inflation at record-setting levels, sabotaging the jobs market and resulting in the slowest growth in both the stock market and growth domestic product since the Great Recession. The damning jobs report, recently put out by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, showed that last quarter the Biden-Harris regime created some 1.2 million jobs, but those jobs were incredulously, exclusively for foreign laborers – many of whom are illegally domiciled here. Meanwhile, native-born American citizens have lost 1.3 million jobs – an unmitigated disaster.
On these statistics, the President held Kamala’s feet to the fire. “Kamalanomics is killing the American Economy!”, the President declared. “When I left office, I handed Kamala a surging economy. Mortgage rates were around 2%. Gasoline was $1.87/gallon. Incomes surged. Kamala blew it all up.” All true.
President Trump then succinctly captured just how disastrous the policies of the Biden-Harris administration have been for the economy: “If she becomes president, this country doesn’t have a chance of success. Not only success, we’ll end up being Venezuela on steroids.”
In addition, President Trump did a stellar job articulating the fact that Kamala Harris’s policies are dangerously liberal: she is a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist. He adeptly dispelled any doubt as to her radical beliefs by delineating the origins of her extremist philosophy: “She’s a Marxist, everyone knows that, her father is a Marxist professor in economics, he taught her well.” In this line, he made reference to Kamala’s father, Donald Harris, who was a professor of economics at Stanford for many years, a specialist in Marxist economic theory – that, through her daughter, have demonstrated the disastrous practical implications of such theories through the policies Kamala and Biden have enacted over the past three and a half years.
These policies include price controls, higher taxes, and handouts for illegal aliens. Furthermore, they include her radical plans to socialize medicine and eradicate private insurance; introduce central bank digital currencies, replicating the CCP’s system of assigning social credit scores; and phasing out fracking, oil, and gas, in pursuit of crippling electric vehicle mandates, putting the United States on the road to serfdom.
The President’s closing statement was maybe his knockout punch. He asked a very simple question: why hasn’t Kamala Harris, who has been serving as Biden’s vice president for the last three and a half years, been unable to deliver on any of the promises she proposed on the debate stage.
“They’ve had three and a half years to fix the border,” President Trump said, “three and a half years to create jobs – and all the things we talked about. Why hasn’t she done it?”
It was that final line that will remain in the minds of the 50 million viewers watching last evening. And this was observed in post-debate polling: when asked who won the night, Newsmax found that 93% of its audience believed President Trump won, compared with just 6% for Harris. Even C SPAN, a neutral network, found that 83% of its audience believed the 45th President had won the evening’s debate, compared to just 17% for the Vice President.
Among CNN’s audience, when asked who would better handle the economy, President Trump’s numbers improved after the debate. Entering the night, 53% of CNN’s left-leaning audience thought President Trump would do a better job handling the economy compared with 37% for Harris. After the debate, President Trump’s numbers increased to 55%, and Harris correspondingly dropped to 33%.
American voters are intelligent enough to cut through the nonsense. It is for this reason that Harris immediately begged President Trump, as he was wrapping up post-debate interviews, for a second opportunity to debate him. Among Pennsylvania voters, President Trump’s remarks performed especially well. His points about saving fracking and mass deportations resonate with this mostly blue-collar audience, who – like large swathes of the rustbelt region – have been especially devastated by globalist policies that have outsourced their manufacturing jobs to China, Mexico, and India and eroded their culture with mass immigration at home.
As a globalist herself, Kamala Harris is the mouthpiece for Washington’s failed ruling class – the likes of which also include Dick Cheney, the chief architect of the disastrous Iraq War, whose endorsement she bizarrely welcomed on stage. In this she revealed herself to be the establishment candidate, embodying the same ruling class that has brought endless wars and untold economic ruin upon this nation over decades.
The fact that President Trump made a concerted effort to appeal to the constituency most harmed by destructive neoliberal and globalist policies last night, in particular, was a brilliant move – for it will be states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin that ultimately decide this election, much as they did for him in 2016. These voters are naturally drawn to the President’s plans to close the border and prioritize America’s interests, as well as his rabble rousing, no-holds-barred rhetoric that has endeared him to hundreds of millions of Americans, who to this day turn out by the tens of thousands to his rallies wherever he goes.
On that appeal, the President was a smashing success, looking every bit the part of vintage 2016 Donald Trump, who famously pierced the blue wall and shocked the political world by defeating Hillary Clinton, the face of the Washington Swamp, on a very simple yet powerful message: to Make America Great Again.
After last night, he looks poised to do it all over again.

Here's what The Federalist had to say:
The Debate Was So Biased It Was Divorced From Reality. Trump Should Refuse To Do Another
By: John Daniel Davidson
September 11, 2024
By disorienting and demoralizing us with endless, brazen lies, these ‘debates’ make it even harder for Americans to practice self-government.
Tuesday night during the presidential debate between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, the fact-checks were flying, but only in one direction. As expected, ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis were criminally biased, making the debate effectively three-on-one against Trump and practically amounting to an in-kind donation to the Harris campaign.
The lying and gaslighting were so brazen from Harris, and the “fact-checking” from Muir and Davis so lop-sided (they failed even once to push back or correct any of Harris’ obvious falsehoods), that the entire spectacle eventually took on an air of unreality. It was bizarre to see it happening live on the air. By the end, my main takeaway was that the purpose of these debates, besides the media’s obvious goal of boosting Harris and hurting Trump, is to confuse and demoralize the American people by distorting reality and flooding the internet with lies, making it impossible to know what’s true and what’s not.
At one point, Harris recited a litany of the most obvious, thoroughly debunked lies about Trump, from the “fine people on both sides” comment on Charlottesville, to the “bloodbath” remark about the auto industry, to claiming he “incited” the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6. Anyone can go online and check for themselves that these things are all hoaxes; they never happened. But the moderators said nothing.
They again said nothing when Harris lied about her views on fracking, gun control, and defunding the police. Nor did they say anything when she erroneously claimed there are no American troops in combat zones (three U.S. soldiers were killed in a drone attack in Jordan earlier this year, and seven were injured in a raid against ISIS in Iraq last month), that police officers died on Jan. 6, that third-trimester abortions never happen, or that the Trump tax cuts disproportionately benefited the wealthy. On and on, lie after lie.
With Trump, it was of course much different. Muir and Davis routinely inserted themselves into the debate under the guise of “fact-checking” the former president, even on trivial matters, to the point that at times it devolved into a side debate between Trump and the moderators.
But again, media bias is baked in, and wasn’t a surprise. As Megyn Kelly noted, “The person who runs ABC News,” Dana Walden, “is a close personal friend of Kamala Harris,” and the moderators “did exactly what their bosses wanted them to do.” We’ve known all along that Trump isn’t just running against Harris and the DNC; he’s running against a machine that includes the entire corporate press, the administrative state, the intelligence agencies, Big Tech, and even Taylor Swift.
What was different about this debate, though, was how brazen the bias was, how unconcerned ABC seemed to be even with presenting the appearance of journalistic integrity or fairness. It was shocking to see it. And the effect of it isn’t necessarily to move the needle on the election one way or the other. It’s unlikely that anyone, whatever his views, will be persuaded by anything that was said or done during this farce of a debate.
No, the real effect is to erode our ability to function as a coherent polity, to maintain a democratic form of government or anything close to self-government. You can’t do it like this, especially not in our digital era. The lies and distortions and undisguised bias get fed directly into social media, which instantly becomes a feeding frenzy of claim and counterclaim, replete with clips and commentaries that serve only to compound the distorting effect of the debate itself.
That’s what happened Tuesday night. Corporate media commentators like Chris Hayes of MSNBC declared Harris was “cleaning his clock.” California Gov. Gavin Newsom later used the exact same phrase. Meanwhile, commentators on the right were apoplectic about the bias from ABC and the dishonesty from Harris, and they furiously posted evidence debunking her lies and omissions.
You can’t engage in meaningful debate this way. You need a bare minimum of shared reality for that. The conduct of ABC and the rest of the corporate press is making it impossible, which is why we would be better off without these presidential debates.
If they’re going to be like this, then they’re just contributing to the disintegration of our polity by distorting reality and making political discourse impossible. Instead of a necessary and salutary part of our national elections, they are poison in the bloodstream of our national life. Trump, at least, should refuse to take part in them going forward, and the rest of us should refuse to watch if he does.
