w0w, Hopeful. you come up with 'at all by yo'see-elf?
[OT] No, Loch3, your point is well taken.
[IMHO] Although ALL of those things with hate are empty & without a deepest sense of “home” [home as a metaphor for immaculate highest self/allness/oneness/yada-yada-yada]. While all those things with...love...are closest to acts of perfection & the immaculate notion of highest ascendance. Again, yada-yada-yada....
It’s always debatable, certainly. Sometimes I believe love was the original highest motive, ...made trite long ago by the acts of egocentric men with a clever notion to count, label & classify. After all, without the grandiose classifications provided by gunpowder and gold, ...who’d tear the soil, stitch the leather, drive the buggy & raise those troublesome kids?
But then who is to say those [elusive/fabled/yet likely] cave dwelling, buffalo hunting, ancient aboriginals of the pre American continents shared a sense of love while their medicine women were passing all that they’d learned through trial and error onto their matriarchal progeny...as the old men told patriarchal stories to young hunters & gatherers fresh out of icy stream bravado. But then why tell stories and pass anything down of not some kind of love drive.
Again hugely debatable. Sheez, there are always several who will claim those cave dwelling buffalo hunters NEVER even existed. The paintings on walls and the strange odd shaped skulls a figment of scientific imagination, rubbish, ...& nothing more. The word “love” itself can infuriate some people. You had better be able to defend yourself or take a good punch in the nose if you use the word without a well-timed wisecrack while presiding over a Guinness and whiskey.
lol
sigh
I dug your post. The great thing about minds is that, if given the opportunity, they can wax on-and-on about everything under the sun
...& yet still find themselves, upon reflection, deep in the heart of the same repeated historically stupid erroneous acts of humankind...& still, forever still, NOT listening to &/or fending for the screams.
Love as an emotion is a great escape/muse/inspirer; love as a motive could lead us all into a New Renaissance of human wonder. ...But then what to do with all the brazilians of pesos worth of weapons &...flags? Again, yada-yada-yada....
Great day for catch with a football. Got some more winterizing to do now, after a bowl of oatmeal to douse the chill. Peace, man.
chrisbaskett:
yep...there's another good reason to get up in the morning alright. & one that, in some groovy way, fulfills the other 4-5. yes? may i suggest another couple:
1 - a heartshaped and blanket warm perfect azz, one of matriarchal perfection and vital honey, in the palm of a gentle, expressive and just now conscious hand of nearly identical heat...mmm.
2 - after a modest omelet, some sliced tomatoes and a protein shake, ...catch with a football on a just yet slightly dewy lawn partially covered in oak, poplar, beech, redbud & maple leaves...w/m’ sons and best gal; ...the pair of red tail hawks circling directly above our meadow of mutually gratifying activity.
...i’ll get up for these.... they are both exactly why i’m up this morning. Although “2” is still in the makings.
hey, hey...my, my
loch3: ahahah, lol, ...cool post man. taking it a bit out of the investment context, those are 4 happenin' reasons for getting up in the morning. i will offer/add: love. many here will scoff at that, ...so be it.
stay gold
ee-izz 'at ee-it? hmm... ...oh.
loch: ...interesting theory. may or may not explain it all, ...although it’s phenomenon has been mostly realized away by myself for a certain time now. with the advent of frudIago and bone & the occasional return of stockysan [DNAP’s greatest beneficiary to date...chuckle] & a host of other toadies ala “you might be a redneck...”, the impact and poignant rhetoric has gone well out of the basher ilk. having such a feeble second/third string in now actually gives me the willies from time to time; as one would think DNAG would aim to provide more aggressive reasons for the more asstuttin’ starters to take the floor again.... stay gold bro; don’t loose your head....
1. Once upon a time, in Amherst, Massachusetts, there were two little children, Matt Gross and Uma Thurman. They were four years apart, and never met, as far as I can remember.
2. Matt's little brother Stevie was good friends with Uma's little brother, who went by Mipam or Max, depending on how much the other kids in the picturesque college town made fun of him. Steve and Mipam/Max would often play at the Thurmans' enormous, ramshackle Victorian house, and once, when Matt went with his mom to pick Stevie up, he found the Thurman kids — there must have been half a dozen of them — playing video games on an Atari 2600. Matt wanted to play, too, but the Thurmans wouldn't let him. In all probability, Matt was too shy to even ask to play. Uma may have been there.
3. Years passed. The Grosses moved to Brighton, England, then moved back. Stevie was still friends with Mipam/Max, but was also friends with a boy named Richard, whose dad was really, sickeningly, morbidly obese. In junior high, Matt was in Monsieur Luippold's French class. This was in, like, 1988, not long after Dangerous Liaisons came out, and M. Luippold spent one day in class explaining how Uma had been in his class years before and how he was dumbstruck to watch the movie and see Uma's breasts spill from her dress! Matt still hasn't seen the movie, but after he left Amherst for Williamsburg, Va., he heard from old friends that M. Luippold was very sick, maybe with AIDS.
4. Sometime before Uma ran off to New York to become a model and then a world-famous and quirkily beautiful actress, her mom consulted Matt's mom about Uma's future. Should she let Uma run off to New York to strut the catwalk without finishing high school? she asked. No, said Matt's mom. Uma went anyway. Think about it: If Matt's mom had been more convincing, there might be no Uma.

...again you use a word or concept i did not use, ...to skew the conversation or whatever it is you’re doing here... Who’s to say, really, what you’re replying to. Nothing I’ve talked about. Did i say you said something “wrong”? nope, just “nada” of related matter in regards to my query.
Looks like you and i are at an impasse, comparatively.
U want to bicker with me, going round & round about mostly nothing??,
& I want to get a response to a decent question,
from anyone who has the gumption...
or the willingness to take an HONEST shot..
You’ve lost credibility with me as of this morning;
Perhaps I have no credibility with you now, if I ever did.
If true...
Well, then it’s mutual.
At least we’ve got that, man.
As unfulfilling as THAT has been.
& to think I took the morning off to ask one question here,
in hopes that someone conscientious would shine an honest light..
on a going concern....
& to think yours was the only reply.
Such is this particular board.
Good thing there is MORE to do elsewhere.
The pleasure certainly was not mine.
Enjoy your board,
&, FWIW, ...kindly...
...take a hike....
geob, ...you hve now become one of the meaningless, as far as the DNAP board is concerned. circles within circles of nada from you. So be it. I really hope you find what you are looking for. Be well.
one other thing geob.... .....
since i'm supposed to be "simply" happy...& complacent; ...since it's all just an arbitrary joy button dance of the DNAg shareholders in cheerful waiting,
then why don't you go to your bank, take out a cashier's check for fifteen thousand...and mail it to me. whatz it matter, ...its all just a lot of funny money...no?
unless you are willing to do exactly that, then don't ask me not to pose questions of interest of any kind, both positive and contemplative on a flippant pump & dump board.
lest you paint yourself in stripes or spots....
I have been an earnest shareholder for years. It’s gotten me nowhere so far.
BUT I’m still plugging away. Holy banal banners Batman!!
geob? .... ........ .....
~~"but you blame the wrong side ........."~~
?? I did what??
I blamed exactly NO ONE for anything.
Sides? [lol]
I simply asked you an honest question, asked for your opinion with regards to our present state.
[You can't plant me in your treehouse, bro.]
Careful what you read into things, ...that aren't even close to being there.
You don't want to answer the question honestly, then don't concern yourself with it. But the question was a good one, ...& yet somebody with so much optimism won't take a shot at it?
So be it.
I’m through treating you like you’re a credible & honest shareholder.
Good luck with your investment here.
[jmho] Really, geob, ...please take a shot at this.
"Hold and buy the deals" banners don't work with the grey hairds any longer, ...getting too grey, pal. You appear to find yourself in an optimistic way, no?, ...what a ya got 2 lose by throwing your hat into the crowd? How is it that DNAP [g] progress [success] in the next couple of years can serve [rightfully so] the long shareholder who is now down to approximately one fourth of 1/20th of his share value from last year...which was then down to ¼ at the time of the ... ahh, ...restructuring?
~~~&~~~, this, without the shareholder investing any more than has already been mainlined-in-respectable-quantity into the hungry vein of our DNAprint genomics coffer?
I’m being serious, ...not having fun at your expense...believe me. There is nothing fun here.
How is it possible for an ethical minded BOD to make good on early promises...at this stage of the process? Give me a couple clues, ...& I will drop it. An earnest effort though, please, if any at all....
geob: .... ........ .....
~~"I'M BETTING ON IT"~~
oh, you are? that's great...
then would you be interested in taking a shot at this part of the ditty?
"...can it benefit those early proponents who lined-up to make-up the DNAP spittoon? hopefully so. who can show me how? ...anybody here who CAN MAP IT OUT?"
i'm all ears, geob. tia
Geob ... That’s not to exclude: Thank you for your kind reply._eom
geob: which part was particularly "beautiful", if you don't mind? or is it just the warm unsophisticated ramble as a whole? personally, i don't find any of it "beautiful, per-say.” mostly i find it particularly puzzling...just how a few years can make so great a difference on a people. a people i happen to have a strong fondness and inspired hope for, ...but with some doubt....
more power to ya....
[ot] Easyman.... ........ ....
Don't lose your head, bro. You'll turn things around.
:o)
Thanks for your genuine/generous reply, stakddek.
....
Although it appears to be somewhat in contrast to your previous post,
...the one I replied to.
That is what I think I was getting at. Optimism is a virtue, ...but what is the color of DNAG integrity in regards to momentous words past, ...and will THEY prove that Dr. Frudakis’s letter to the shareholders held water then...as well as now. OR is it all water under a bridge, ...and little more than a gifted wordsmith bushwhacking the last optimistic well-thinkers of the early 21st century, ...with impunity?
This is not to say one way or the other. Sure would be a boon if things went well for us...& them. Synergistically....
...But the omnivorous eat the weaker meat & celebrate a full belly....
stakddek: .... ........ .....
~~“There has to be something in the pot at the end of the Rainbow”~~
Would you be willing to hypothesize a bit more specifically? It is my greatest wonder how the BOD can make this worth our wile when the fabled “dayz of wine and roses” begin? I’ve invested more than an adequate amount of sobering income into this venture...to garner 20% or better on my risk. Really. You and I, & a good many others, have made known to DNAG a legitimate show of earnest hands for several years. How is it that you feel THEY will be inspired/able to offer gratuity to the long shareholder...upon landfall?
THIS is an honest question, ...I’m not being facetious. TIA
[I’ll read any genuine reply later, ...very late now...got’a fly!]
Looks like perhaps some work is being gotten done. Figured as much. People are going to and fro so that would have to be factored-in. Sleeves rolled-up and a pretty groovy cash-flow on our dime...and what remains of our backsides. Okay, it’s the price we paid to sit back and watch while others toil in real-time. When all is said and done...and the first supposed wave of pipeline revs begin to filter in...in however many moons it takes, ...will it have been worth the pains of several heady shareholder muggings? I guess we’ll see, won’t we? Now, [imo] as long as you are just now noticing DNAG...and taking a gooood looooong look at it...prior to making any decisions, ...you just may well be sitting in the fabled catbird seat. Those of us in the dug-in prone position, ...all covered in ersatz battle scars and & an overly-seasoned-mufti-seasonal-pot purée of worn-out camo gear & oh so fckn fatigued...
...well, ...hurry-up-&-wait! Could be a pittance in it for ye’all as well.... lol
wrl: not much has been said, not sure what's being done. that's about the gist.... hope we're havin' fun....
[chuckle/sigh]
correction of last:
1- dame = same
&
2- please strike "no mediocrity" from the post.
thnx
Frog:
Certainly, your point is well taken. But it continues to appear that you have avoided Bag8ger's question. If he asked me the dame question, I'd have a real upfront answer; no sweat, no avoidance, no mediocrity, ...no status quo, ...just an earnest reply...man to man, persona to persona....
JMHO :o)
[It's not my thread....]
FroggyD:
That’s a good question, ...worthy of a detailed response.
&, yet, by answering a question WITH a question,
...have YOU answered the original question, ...really?
Or avoided it gamely?
Naiveté...or just plain pragmatics, ..., which requires the proof that comes after the fact and mostly denies observation/insight? This is not to say that the pragmatic is incapable of observation/insight; ...wherein with who, THAT taken without the numbers, any theatrical hunches are put to rest. It’s just improbable, or, otherwise, unlikely....
But then this is red wine talking...and, coupled with my right-brained perspective as a whole, ...is grain of salt stuff.
[IMHO] It’s the GREAT American Legacy of the nobles!
Status quo.
The mean machine.
He who dies with the most toys and the poorest neighbors outside those gates...wins
How can you fault DNAG BOD for trying to be proper American lords and ladies...on the backs of the hoi polloi?
Not in some ways unlike France, circa 1790, ...but that’s just a flippant analogy.
Tomatoes, ...throw them tomatoes, ...NO, ...the rotten ONES!!
How can we deny them THEIR American dream,...
Nothing Gold Can Stay
by: Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
"...you wouldn't be a gourmet cook would you?"
Nope, ...just enjoy good cuisine & international simple fare when I can get out. We do cook around here, but not professionally. Occasionally it tastes professional. My brother-in-law is a Saucier...so I’ve tried some bitchin’ grindage over the years. The first five dishes on the list are some I have enjoyed both eating & preparing, ...but more preferably ordered in a good 3 ¾ star restaurant...lol...., so they came easy. The caviar I’ve never had (well, good roe with sushi) but it seemed appropriate to the blurb, the speghettini and truffle sauce I found by Googling a French menu...& I chose the foie gras because it was one of Hannibal the Cannibal’s dishes of choice...lol. I do enjoy a good bottle of wine though, if the conversation’s good.
