Frankly I'm confused from the post all together because for the most part(except for the first quote and statement) it seems for each question posed to my quoted statement, my next quote dismisses the statement or rebuttal. One argument/statement even seems to resolve itself,

Go KBLB.
Do YOU know that as fact?
"k, so the answer is no, Kim has no expertise in patent law.
Not saying he should...... "
I didn't mention Kims knowledge of patent law. I could ASSUME he should know some patent law since he dealt with intellectual property rights, but cannot say for sure what his depth of knowlede in patent law is, if any. You could ask him yourself and should before you post that he has none.
However, I did post that if it came down to a patent dispute or a case of infringement the Universities who own the patents would have to take that on. KBLB/ Kim Thompson licenses the rights to use, market and sale products made from said patents. Its really the patent holders responsibility to protect its patent(s). So Kims depth of patent law is a non issue in the respect of him having to defend or represent himself in a patent dispute regarding KBLB. Unless we find out he is well versed in patent law and then maybe the Universities would use him as legal counsel.
And as you said "not saying he should..." I know you know how the company is setup. We all know you've done your DD.
Primarily I focused on the part where the post says he has ZERO business experience, even though he founded his own lawfirm, even though he started KBLB and even though he worked out license agreements with 2 Universities(Univ. NotreDame & Wyoming) and 1 large company(SigmaAldrich).
It would seem to me that he at minimum has the business experience of founding and operating two businesses.
Or
Apparently starting your own succesful law firm doesnt count as business experience. Or starting up a company and collaborating with 2 major Universites doesnt count as business experience.
I guess taking a fledgeling research biotech stock public and handling its day to day affairs for the past 6 years such as,
SEC filings,
license agreements,
NDA's,
CA's,
press conferences,
trademarks,
conference calls,
lab expansion,
lease agreements,
press releases,
...none of that apparently counts as business experience?
"what is his experience? He purports to have provided services to business in the form of a lawyer, in a specific facet."
"A lot of what is needed is character quality (in negotiations), but everything else you need is experience and know how"
What??!
Even though he had a commercial lawfirm and won cases representing small and large cap companies as it relates to intellectual properties and distribution rights (but he doesnt have character quality?) Zenaku posted an article about Kim winning in court just the end of last year on behalf of a couple against their local police abusing power. He must have some kind of court room presence to win his cases. Not to mention its reported that his winnings are quite sizeable, that's not just a win, but a 360 Slam DUNK.
Ever consider that part of his "know how" is that 'specific facet'. Is it missed that that specific facet directly applies to exactly what KBLB needs? Research into IP law and Distribution rights gives you precedence on what has been done, what can be done and the limits and boundaries that large companies hope a small company at the negotiating table doesnt know.
GO KBLB.
It's one thing to honestly warn people of the reality of the risk of investment, especially when something seems to good to be true. It's another thing to ignore facts, and support mis-information while doing so.
I have no problem stating KBLB is a risky investment, there is always a possibility things for whatever reason just won't work out. There is always that risk in investing, even more so with new startups, but that's why people are in OTC's in the first place, to receive quick gains by trading in and out or to try to get in on the ground floor of something new hoping it actually succeeds.
UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME WILL PROTECT ITS PATENTS.
UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING WILL PROTECT ITS PATENTS.
THEY TOGETHER WOULD FIGHT ANY PATENT INFRINGEMENT.
KBLB has the rights to market and distribute MONSTER SILK(TM) and any other products made using said patents. Basic DD would let anyone who wants to invest in KBLB know that. If anyone didnt know how the patent arrangement was setup for KBLB, now you do, you're welcome.
KBLB doesnt itself own the patents, THE UNIVERSITIES DO. Any further products will also involve SIGMA ALDRICH'S/SANGAMO'S tools, and they would also fight to protect its patents.
GO KBLB.
GO ahead...
make their day.
May I refer people to the stickies above, KBLB CEO:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=78329055
Prior to becoming a public company CEO, Mr. Thompson was the founder and senior litigation partner in a California commercial law firm where he worked as corporate and litigation counsel to privately held and public companies.
His many accomplishments in corporate law include winning and collecting in full what his firm believes to have been the largest award of lost profits in a California commercial arbitration up to that time.
An important part of his work was winning victories on behalf of corporate clients in disputes over intellectual property and distribution rights.
He has represented business clients ranging from small start ups and micro caps to Fortune 100 companies.
Being savy in disputes of intellectual properties and the handling of distribution rights as they pertain to might be a good thing to be awesome at when negotiating your own patented property and how it should be distributed.
Im not even goint to say pretty much,..
It directly relates to the negotiating table. Kim is well experienced for what KBLB needs in order to create a deal. On top of that he's disclosed who he goes to when he needs another opinion. I beleive one of his consultants had something to do with DuPont himself....Joe Cunning, Ph.D.
GO KBLB.
Clarification,
Okay, so the argument is that KIM THOMPSON who FOUNDED his own COMMERCIAL BUSINESS LAW firm who REPRESENTED SMALL CAP AND FORTUNE 100 COMPANIES who also WON cases on BEHALF OF CORPORATE CLIENTS fighing for INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS AND DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS and has a measured IQ level ABOVE the 99.9 percentile will be LIMITED in NEGOTIATIONS and has ZERO business experience? Am I to beleive this?
Next.
KBLB's MonsterSilk(TM) could be at the next Olympics!
Imagine that, uniforms/athletic apparel made with KBLB's Monster Silk. Depending how Kim stuctures his business only a couple brands would be able to say, "Now with new Monster Silk technology!"
There is plenty of time for Monster Silk(TM) to make it to Brazil!

They're under the License Agreement section,
(B) License Agreement
On May 8, 2006, the Company entered into a license agreement. Pursuant to the terms of the agreement, the Company paid a nonrefundable
license fee of $10,000. The Company will pay a license maintenance fee of $10,000 on the one year anniversary of this
agreement and each year thereafter. The Company will pay an annual research fee of $13,700 with first payment due January
2007, then on each subsequent anniversary of the effective date commencing May 4, 2007. Pursuant to the terms of the agreement
the Company may be required to pay additional fees aggregating up to a maximum of $10,000 a year for patent maintenance and
prosecution relating to the licensed intellectual property.
On October 28, 2011, the Company entered into a license agreement with the University of Notre Dame. Under the agreement, the
Company received exclusive and non-exclusive rights to certain spider silk technologies including commercial rights with the right to sublicense such intellectual property. In consideration of the licenses granted under the agreement, the Company agreed to issue to the University of Notre Dame 2,200,000 shares of its common stock and to pay a royalty of 2% of net sales. In addition, the Company is in negotiations with the University of Notre Dame for a research and development agreement.
Upon successfully entering into such an agreement, the Company anticipates it could owe approximately $144,000.
The license agreement has a term of 20 years which can be extended on an annual basis after that. It can be terminated by the
University of Notre Dame if the Company defaults on its obligations under the agreement and fails to cure such default within 90 days of a written notice by the university.
The Company can terminate the agreement upon a 90 day written notice subject to payment of a termination fee of $5,000 if the termination takes place within 2 years after
its effectiveness, $10,000 if the termination takes place within 4 years after its effectiveness and $20,000 if the Agreement is terminated after 4 years.

....Yes that's a quarter next to them.
Just a point of reference for some worried about space and issues with ramp up. KBLB doesn't need an airplane hangar.
KBLB is not making airplanes or working with large machinery. They are creating and breeding a new line of silkworms.
They are storing the eggs and most likely stockpiling the cocoons from those they don't refridgerate for use in product testing/samples.
If the CEO/CFO didnt care about cost I'm sure he could blow way more money on lab space and have a bigger facility just for show.
I for one like the CFO/CEOs frugality with regards to expansion and also like the location he acquired.

Kim Thompson Posts Letter to the Shareholders on the Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Website
http://globenewswire.com/newsroom/news.html?d=10000962
August 5, 2012
Dear fellow Kraig Biocraft Laboratories shareholders,
I am writing to update you on the significant progress the Company has made in executing its business plan in 2012, and to share with you our vision of the road ahead. The Company has achieved a number of milestones in late 2011 and during the first two quarters of 2012, starting with the publication of our work on the creation of spider silk based polymers by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. That was closely followed-up by Textile World, the prestigious industry publication, featuring our spider silk based polymer, Monster Silk™, as its “technical textile of the month”.
The aforementioned publications, as well as many other articles, were important catalysts that focused the spotlight on our work. Following which a number of companies approached us wanting to know if our spider silk based fibers would work in their existing product lines, or to explore the possibility of using our Monster Silk™ to enter into new markets. As discussions with these companies about the potential opportunities progressed, we decided that the best approach to commercializing our Monster Silk™ would be to work cooperatively and collaboratively, possibly on an exclusive basis, with one or two companies with existing market share in our target markets. We currently define those target markets as: military, police and DHS related applications; sportswear; other industrial and consumer applications, clothing and fashion wear; and finally, existing silk product markets.
Initially, our strategy was geared toward identifying potential Monster Silk™ commercialization partners and we’ve been in discussions with a number of interested companies about incorporating Monster Silk™ into their products. We then exhibited to the technical textile industry at the TechTextil trade show in late April, where Monster Silk™ sparked tremendous interest at the show.
Even though the exhibition exceeded our expectations in terms of the generation of interest and numerous contacts with new potential commercialization partners, which resulted in ongoing negotiations, some may have interpreted the lack of public comment by the Company as an indication that we stopped moving our business plan forward. Nothing could be further from the truth, as we are actually accelerating on all fronts.
The nature of the negotiations we've entered into require extreme discretion due to non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements. While we cannot comment about specific discussions, I can state my personal belief, which is that the first commercial Monster Silk™ agreements will be with military and sportswear producers.
I believe that we are currently on track to enter into memorandums of understanding and letters of intent in the near term, although we continue to receive additional inquiries and we’re even in the midst of the negotiating another non-disclosure agreement as I write this letter. We are likely to select one or two defense contractors (or companies that supply defense contractors) and one or two sportswear companies, to receive some degree of partial exclusivity for the commercial development of Monster Silk™ in their respective markets.
We have a once-in-a-lifetime technology. We have taken the first two quarters of 2012 to lay the foundation of our commercialization strategy to ensure that the commercialization agreements we enter into maximize long-term shareholder value. Some of the companies that we’ve been talking with include household names and well-known brands.
The current negotiations approach is not unlike our bold move to secure the use of zinc finger nuclease (ZFN) technology. Although the ZFN technology negotiations with Sigma-Aldrich took time, they yielded impressive results. Because of these actions and others like it, Kraig Biocraft Laboratories was able to accelerate research and development and is now positioned for greater success.
As those of you who closely follow the Company know, we have been working with Sigma –Aldrich’s ZFN technology to increase the power of our own technology. In the first half of this year we experimented with the combination of our technology with ZFN. The ZFN has proven to be so powerful that it requires an adjustment in our genetic packets. Our analysis of the data has given us increased confidence that we are on the right track for the development of fibers that are even more advanced than Monster Silk™. While that work is continuing we are also in the later stages of producing more exciting new genetic configurations for use in combination with ZFN.
Until recently all of the Company’s laboratory work took place entirely within university laboratories, pursuant to collaborative research agreements, which we renewed with the University of Notre Dame. Even though we increased our financing of the collaborative research project and we are now accelerating our research at Notre Dame, in the second quarter we signed a lease for a laboratory near the university. That was a big step forward in our growth and indicates our commitment to accelerate the development of new spider silk based fibers; because we believe that we are closer to the development of our pure spider silk platform. Our new private laboratory at Innovation Park, a state of the art facility near Notre Dame, is equipped with top of the line security, including bio-sensors, which we feel is more appropriate for our technology at its current state of development.
Kraig Biocraft Laboratories has made great strides and achieved several milestones in the first two and a half quarters of 2012, plus we laid down a very solid foundation for both our commercialization program and for advanced R&D. Laying down that foundation has been grueling work, but, now that the foundation is in place, the next stages of development should be more exciting and tangible.
Our plan is to continue to build on our research knowledge to develop more advanced polymers in the near term. On the Monster Silk™ commercialization front, we are currently in privileged discussions with potential commercialization partners including some medium sized and larger companies. We anticipate that those discussions will bear fruit in the near term.
In short, I am determined to unlock the maximum value for our shareholders. We are delighted with the current positioning of our commercialization opportunities, which we’re building on the foundation we laid out in the first half of the year in order to seize those opportunities. I know that this comprehensive approach takes more time, but I’m convinced that we control our own destiny and this will enable us to create far more long-term shareholder value.
Thank you for supporting the Company and taking the time to read this letter. I am very proud of our innovative Company and the ingenious technology we’ve developed, but I am more confident than ever that Kraig is favorably positioned to become a leading technical materials firm and I am even more intensely excited about the big future that lies ahead for Kraig Biocraft Laboratories.
Sincerely,
Kim Thompson, CEO

It is really an unfair assumption IMO:
"That they've not proven capable of converting what they have into any revenue generating deal... is just a fact. We know it's a fact... because they've obviously NOT announced any deal ? "
Basically the fuse is lit and making its way towards the firework, but we can say it's a fact that it hasn't proven it's capable of going off? Isn't it also is a fact that theres no indicator to say that it won't go off.
If the argument really is capabiility then it can't be properly assessed without taking into account what Kim (the CEO/CFO/Founder) has done so far. Everything Kim has put together, accomplished, negotiated, licensed, patented, trademarked, PR'd, and even argued in court shows that he is fully capable of creating a revenue generating deal. There is no indicator saying this firework will not go off. It is however a fact that is has not gone off yet.
What else can one fairly base capability on other than past and current accomplishments.

I thought someone posted that KBLB just started selling shares without a plan asap. That is not the case.
Sometimes its good to remember(or learn for the first time) how and why a company started:
Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc Announces Corporate Milestones-
LANSING, Mich., March 7, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCBB:KBLB) announced today that its common stock is now publicly trading on the OTCBB under the trading symbol: KBLB. Copies of its latest financial reports and SEC filings are available on the EDGAR system and on the Company's web site: www.KraigLabs.com
In light of these exciting events, the company's founder and CEO, Kim Thompson, said, "It is appropriate that we provide the financial community with a brief outline of the company's historical milestones, which have brought us to the OTCBB."
Kraig Biocraft Laboratories was founded in April 2006 to develop and commercialize spider silks and other high performance polymers using spider silk gene sequences discovered and invented at the University of Wyoming by Dr. Randy Lewis, in combination with genetic engineering concepts developed by the company's founder.
In May of 2006, Kraig Biocraft Laboratories signed an intellectual property licensing agreement with the University of Wyoming whereby the company obtained certain exclusive rights to use the patented and patent pending spider silk gene sequences famously developed by researchers at the University, in the Company's field of use.
At the same time, the University of Wyoming Foundation became a shareholder in the Company. "The University of Wyoming has long been at the forefront of recombinant spider silk technology," said Thompson. "The agreement with the University is the culmination of years of work to harness this exciting technology for commercial applications. We are literally thrilled to be the leader in what we believe will be a coming revolution in materials science."
In July 2006, noted genetic researcher Dr. Malcolm Fraser joined the Company as its chief outside scientific consultant.
In February 2007, the Company signed a collaborative research and intellectual property agreement with the University of Notre Dame. Pursuant to that agreement, the Company is sponsoring genetic engineering research within the University's laboratories with a primary emphasis on spider silk polymer development and production.
On September 26, 2007, Kraig Biocraft Laboratories filed its SB-2 registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
On October 16, 2007, the Company's registration became effective.
In late February 2008, Kraig's shares were listed on both the OTCBB and the Pink Sheets under the trading symbol: KBLB.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Genetic Engineers Complete Five Separate Rounds of Zinc Finger Nuclease Assisted Genetic Insertions Over the Past Two Weeks
LANSING, Mich., April 10, 2012 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB:KBLB.PK) (the "Company") announces that researchers working with the Company have performed approximately five thousand zinc finger nuclease assisted mirco-insertions during the past two weeks. The genetic insertions were performed in five separate and unique batches of approximately one thousand insertions per round.
"Given the targeting efficiency of the zinc finger nuclease technology and the knowledge base we developed, it is highly probable that these five rounds will produce multiple transgenics," said Company CEO, Kim Thompson. "Each of these five rounds is distinctive in terms of the genetic sequences that were used or based on some other special attribute of the genetic insertion protocol."
"From my perspective," continued Thompson, "these five thousand insertions, performed by a very distinguished group of researchers at the University of Notre Dame, consist of our most recent configurations and are the most exciting and promising to date. Each of these insertions was tailored with one goal in mind, the creation of our generation two, advanced spider silk polymer. Kim Thompson Posts Letter to the Shareholders on the Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Website
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LANSING, Mich., Aug. 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB:KBLB.PK) (the "Company" or "Kraig") announces that Kim Thompson, the Company's CEO and founder, posted an open letter to shareholders on the Company's website.
The main topics covered by the letter include commercialization and laboratory updates. To read the letter, please go to http://www.kraiglabs.com/shareholder-letter-080512.htm
Kim Thompsons Letter to Shareholders:
August 5, 2012
Dear fellow Kraig Biocraft Laboratories shareholders,
I am writing to update you on the significant progress the Company has made in executing its business plan in 2012, and to share with you our vision of the road ahead. The Company has achieved a number of milestones in late 2011 and during the first two quarters of 2012, starting with the publication of our work on the creation of spider silk based polymers by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. That was closely followed-up by Textile World, the prestigious industry publication, featuring our spider silk based polymer, Monster Silk™, as its "technical textile of the month".
Initially, our strategy was geared toward identifying potential Monster Silk™ commercialization partners and we've been in discussions with a number of interested companies about incorporating Monster Silk™ into their products.
I believe that we are currently on track to enter into memorandums of understanding and letters of intent in the near term, although we continue to receive additional inquiries and we're even in the midst of the negotiating another non-disclosure agreement as I write this letter.
Some of the companies that we've been talking with include household names and well-known brands.
As those of you who closely follow the Company know, we have been working with Sigma -Aldrich's ZFN technology to increase the power of our own technology.
Until recently all of the Company's laboratory work took place entirely within university laboratories, pursuant to collaborative research agreements, which we renewed with the University of Notre Dame.
We are delighted with the current positioning of our commercialization opportunities, which we're building on the foundation we laid out in the first half of the year in order to seize those opportunities. I know that this comprehensive approach takes more time, but I'm convinced that we control our own destiny and this will enable us to create far more long-term shareholder value.
Thank you for supporting the Company and taking the time to read this letter. I am very proud of our innovative Company and the ingenious technology we've developed, but I am more confident than ever that Kraig is favorably positioned to become a leading technical materials firm and I am even more intensely excited about the big future that lies ahead for Kraig Biocraft Laboratories.
Sincerely,
Kim Thompson, CEO

Go KBLB.
Kim Thompson has been a fine CEO for KBLB.
What he has accomplished and continues to accomplish with KBLB is clear and in black and white. Any inference as to his lack of attention to KBLB is completely senseles and without merit. Also KBLB has put out a consistent amount of PRS in that last 3 years (at least 10 a year) which challenges anyones allegations of nothing being told to shareholders or accomplished.
Shareholder impatience is not the CEOs fault, and where no one knows clearly all the facts of what is happening at this stage (aside from the lab expansion and the trademark process about to be complete)when NDAs are in effect, repetitive overposts of nothing happening or getting done when we simply cant see whats being done are getting tiresome. If anyone remembers what happened during the Sigma Licensing "silence" one could easily apply it here again. SP in a downtrend and repeated posts of doom and speculative demise when really its just a small layer of fog and land is just a few hundred yards away.
See the Ibox for all Pr's, too many to add to this post.
Thanks Zenaku.

Even the art on the USTAR building commercializes Randy's spider goats! lmao
It’s the work of Ray King, a sculptor based in Philadelphia, who was chosen by officials at Utah State University, USTAR and the Utah Division of Arts and Museums to make a sculpture for the BioInnovations Building, which was dedicated in October 2010.
The ebb and flow of the circles all connecting together references USTAR professor Randy Lewis’ work with transgenic goats to produce milk with spider silk proteins. The proteins are purified and spun into fibers that can be used to create technical fabrics as well as artificial ligaments and tendons.

Good links Zen. I remember seeing an article a couple months ago that hinted to cracking the process for creating a more consistent strand from "goop". They key it said was pushing the material out or through rather than pulling it. I can't see the video from your link though so not sure how the University of the Pacific are doing it.

Very much appreciated DoD. The journal hints at new advances in recombinant engineering of silks for medical applications but just speaks of the Ecoli via Teul'e. Go KBLB!
C'mon news!
Hope everyone is having a good year so far!
Why Silk May Be Added To Vaccines Someday
-Another link with Dr. Kaplans most recent PNAS published work.
Silk proteins stabilize the medicines and act to "pin the structure in place"
he and his colleagues have worked out how to pack medicines in tiny silk pouches, in a manner that makes them almost indifferent to heat. Dr Kaplan and his team describe their technique in this week's Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. They start with silkworm cocoons--the raw material for almost all silk production. They boil the cocoons in a solution of sodium carbonate to separate a protein called fibroin, which is the one they want, from another, called sericin, which they do not.

This is a seriously huge breakthrough!
KBLB could supply those silkworm cocoons, maybe customize something for Dr. Kaplan...
GO KBLB!
What do you guys think??
New silk-based stabilizer, good ole Dr. Kaplan!
Article Header:
Researchers funded by the National Institutes of Health have developed a new silk-based stabilizer that, in the laboratory, kept some vaccines and antibiotics stable up to temperatures of 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This provides a new avenue toward eliminating the need to keep some vaccines and antibiotics refrigerated, which could save billions of dollars every year and increase accessibility to third world populations.
Excerpts:
Kaplan and his lab have been working extensively with silk films that essentially wrap up the live bioactive molecules present in antibiotics and vaccines. This protects these essential bioactive elements, and so can greatly extend the shelf-life of the medication. Silk is used because it is a protein polymer with a chemistry, structure, and assembly that can generate a unique environment, making it an attractive candidate for the stabilization of bioactive molecules over extended periods of time.
Kaplan's team stored the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccines for six months at the recommended 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as at 77, 98.6 , and 113 degrees Fahrenheit. The results show that encapsulation in the new silk films maintained the potency with minimal loss over time and enhanced stability, even at very high storage temperatures. Similarly, antibiotics entrapped in silk films maintained near optimal activity even at temperatures as high as 140 degrees. In addition, Kaplan's group found that these silk films had the added benefit of protecting one antibiotic against the detrimental effects of light exposure.

Go KBLB.
Great job Dr. Kaplan!
Hi Jose, That I'm aware of.
I highlight the (TM) because of where we are in the trademark process and it's importance as to how it relates to where we are in the business plan. I previously posted that I believe the movement on the trademark front was more telling (when it comes to do we have any deals or not) than any PR we've received yet . I put it as S.O.U. equals some sort of deal or sale basicaly. JMO.
GO KBLB.
I'm definitely happy for any update from Kim but as far as I'm concerned the trademark movement was a more significant update.
I had prev posted that I won't drone on about my speculation with regards to the SOU, but had to mention it to satisfy this post.
