I can't say it enough, this next move for KBLB is big. This is the point where development turns into commercialization. This is where KBLB / Kim Thompson must act on the method to making a profit from what has been hypothesized, researched, developed and tested. I believe that the delay thus far is due to many moving parts needing to come together at an extremely critical stage for KBLB. Just as important as what you're selling is how you are selling it and who you are working with. I don't look at it as Kim just starting a business, I see it as him building an empire. Foundation is the key, trust is required and the task is not for the short sighted.
Meanwhile more research and development are taking place where as we are waiting on more info about Big Red (just one of KBLBs customized projects) and beyond that Darwins Bark spider has yet to enter the scene (as far as we know). The great thing with KBLBs product is that there is more than just one type of silk that KBLB can market. For every application there can be a silk engineered that can fulfill that specific role. The types of silk customizations just as the variety of applications for them are really only limited by science and the imagination.
GO KBLB.
Hey everyone.
Just thought I'd pop in and say hi.
Keep up the great posts. I remain positive about this
company as do most of you here and can't wait to hear
the next round of PR's. The wait is definitely frustrating,
but having done my DD with this company and its "competition"
I can handle it and believe its for a good reason.
This next move is big.

Well said, totally agree.
To add, just as a business needs to change and keep up to succeed so do its investors.
As KBLB discovered new things about its own technology it has changed its business plan accordingly.
It seems that when shareholders got this info some seemed to not really absorb it and remain steadfast with old info blaming Kim for missed CC's or announcements or ability overall.
Initial commercialization plans thought to enter MS into the garment business, which would have been relatively quicker than what has taken place. After Monster Silk was showcased at the Techtextil Event suitors that approached Kim gave him insights on all the specialties that Monster Silk could be used in and all the things they could do with such a fabric. Hence the business model changed. Hence timelines were moved.
Before that KBLB moved to add in Sigma Aldrich to use Zinc Fingers and innovate their research...complaints anyone?
After Techtextil KBLB made Big Red (either because they underestimated MS's uses or possilby they had a special request or maybe it's because this company is not messing around)...any complaints on the newer stronger fiber research and success?
Currently we are waiting for a CC on the heels of our CEO coming back from a foreign government visit and a recent shareholders meeting. Some seem like they would have rather had the CC before all this just to have one. Id rather wait till after these events have been resolved to have a CC with more info than just to have one because its closer to a tentative date that was given.
People need to understand what tentative means..
No More Excuses. lol

GO KBLB
I think everyone needs to just settle down and relax.
We are in between communication periods with the Company and that is always a frustrating time. History has shown with KBLB that every time they have gone "quiet" they come back with something worth saying. Whether it was the Sigma Aldrich deal that no one saw coming or the Big Red announcement (also out of nowhere) KBLB has proven it can get things done. All can argue of the pace of movement for what they think is going on, but think about the Sigma Deal or Big Red, while complaints were made about Kim not talking to shareholders or seeming like he doesn't know what he's doing, things that us shareholders didn't even have a chance to critique were set out and accomplished.
Kim's next move is big. Those that worry that Kim will somehow make the wrong deal should have that much more patience for the process.

UW Professor Signs Consulting Agreement with Kraig Biocraft:
http://www.uwyo.edu/uw/news/2008/06/uw-professor-signs-consulting-agreement-with-kraig-biocraft.html
Excerpt from University web page:
Kraig Biocraft is a technology company focused on developing high-performance polymers and protein-based materials including spider silks for use in the multi-billion dollar technical fibers market, Thompson said.
Earlier this year, Jarvis joined UW molecular biology Professor Randy Lewis and University of Notre Dame molecular biology and genetics Professor Malcolm Fraser Jr. as members of Kraig Biocraft's Board of Scientific Advisors.
Jarvis's appointment to the board was made in anticipation of this consulting agreement, and he will retain his position on the board.
Jarvis said he proposed to develop a novel system for the production of spider silk fibers in a grant application to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a potential way to extend the efforts of the Lewis laboratory to produce spider silk fibers for various biomedical applications, including sutures and artificial ligaments.
"The NIH grant proposal was funded for $397,000, and our team is starting the second year of research," Jarvis said of his laboratory's collaboration with the Lewis and Fraser teams.
Jarvis said he was pleased to join Lewis and Fraser on Kraig Biocraft's scientific advisory board.
"This will strengthen our opportunities to funnel basic research funded by the NIH into an effort to manufacture 'biomedically' relevant products in the private sector," Jarvis said.
Thompson called Jarvis a renowned inventor who has developed a variety of technologies for the production of biomedical relevant proteins, such as spider silk proteins.
"It was Dr. Jarvis's developmental work with spider silk polymers that first caught my attention," Thompson said.
Jarvis is the inventor or co-inventor of more than a dozen patented applications, including technologies related to the production of pharmaceuticals.
Additional information about Jarvis is at http://uwacadweb.uwyo.edu/uwmolecbio/Faculty/D_Jarvis.asp.

Scientists Collaborate in Developing Male-only Silkworm Strain
http://www.redorbit.com/news/health/1112823838/oxitec-and-chinese-scientists-collaborate-in-developing-maleonly-silkworm-strain/
Has this been posted already?
-Oxitec today announced the development of strains of the silkworm, Bombyx mori, which
allow production of exclusively male populations and could greatly enhance the efficiency
of silk farming.
-Males require less feed and produce
better quality silk than females, but until now, separating males has remained
impractical.
-Oxitec’s novel solution was to create strains of the moth in which
females perish unless supplied with an antidote

We also have a vigorous program of research in transgenic silkworms. Silkworms are natural protein biocreators and may be engineered to produce recombinant human diagnostic and therapeutic proteins, as well as recombinant silks. One recent application has been the development of recombinant spider silk production in transgenic silkworms (see: www.kraiglabs.com).

OTC dilutes at 40% rate while KBLB only does 5% rate
-now of course this is paraphrasing and a general est.-
Great point carp302,
Many of us here have said and agree that the dilution has been very little in comparison. Just because the word dilution is typed in BOLD type 3-4 times a day doesn't take away from the reality of the actual rate of dilution for KBLB.
KBLB has run a relatively tight ship in the way that it has worked and continues to work with Notre Dame and Univ. of Wyoming to facilitate the research.
And if anyone thinks that reporting a lot of things getting done is pumping so be it. I want to know what's getting done. If the CEO gets invited to a foreign country and its business related, OF COURSE I WANT TO KNOW. If they are starting a production series, I WANT TO KNOW. Over the last couple years shareholders have made it abundantly clear that they want more details, even if they are not huge details. So, now we get more details as stages advance towards commercialization.
Just my Opinion of course.
GO KBLB.
Todays action makes me think of Bigfoots post:
People are missing the bigger picture IMO.
This Shareholder Meeting was a formality of sort to allow Kim Thompson/KBLB to have the flexibility and aggressiveness to move faster on big decisions. Why would he need that?
Think about it....
Secondly this company has diluted over time..it's been discussed to great length here. Not new and not very scary if it's actually being done in way that is adding long term value. Now the business plan that everyone has always been wanting to know, will they acquire some small business, will they add a partner, how will they acquire or fund it? Well now it's getting closer to fruition and being flushed out. Should that disappoint shareholders or should it please them to clear up the long standing hypothesis's as to how KBLB will grow. I think the latter.
We should be having some PRs soon enough.
Thanks to all for updating us on what you knew about the Meeting today/ Red & Zinc/Rose.

Annual Report
Plan of Operations
During the next twelve months, we expect to take the following steps in connection with the further development of our business and the implementation of our plan of operations:
[ ] We expect to spend approximately $35,000 per quarter through March 2014 on collaborative research and development of high strength polymers at the University of Notre Dame. If our financing will allow, management will give strong consideration to accelerating the pace of spending on research and development within the University of Notre Dame's laboratories.

Along with the notice of meeting, the Company's founder and CEO, Kim K Thompson has posted a letter to the shareholders on the Company's website.
"We plan to continue accelerating our commercial development through 2013 and beyond," said CEO and founder Kim K Thompson. "We will also be announcing a shareholder conference call to be held sometime after the shareholders' meeting, to discuss our progress and ambitious plans for 2013 and 2014."

This is my 666 post. Creepy.
Has any one decided if they are really going to the Shareholders Conference?

I would think there would be a PR just after the Shareholders Conference regarding the 'voting'/amendments. My guess is that Kim will PR the Shareholders Conference result/actions along with the Conference Call details info in one PR. Then after the Conference Call there will be a PR about any bold points or announcements disclosed in the Conference Call, if any. Again, jmo.
Separately we could see a PR on any of these topics at any time:
Foreign Country ??
SSM Industries Inc. ??
Big Red ??
"Pure" Spider Silk ??
Trademarks ??

Remember the Big Red announcement came out of nowhere..
what else could Kim have up his sleeve?
These guys see an upside to KBLB and so do I:

GO KBLB!
Except for SSM, all these companies have a stake in KBLB.
Soon we should hear if SSM and KBLB take the next step and go further than an MOU..
Also we have yet to hear more details about Big Red...
Or what country did Kim visit and what was accomplished....
Or what will become of the trademarks last extended in Nov.....
Or what advancements they've made since Big Red towards "pure spider silk"......
Not to mention, Big Red came out of nowhere. There could be an opposite fiber in creation that has the opposite mechanical characteristics of Big Red........
Each of these events individually can add 3 to 5 cents to the SP imo.
We could be looking at .25 as the next base price for KBLB by June.

Pursuant to the agreement, the University of Notre Dame will become a shareholder of the Company. The University will also receive a 2% royalty of the Company's net sales of products which incorporate the technology.
Prosthetics (as far as my understanding) are considered medical uses.

Very interesting link. One day KBLB might have a helping hand in space endeavors.
Here's a link off of yours:
http://www.kuraray.us.com/products/fibers/kuraflex/
(such a high tech product, yet used for such common place things)
The more I look at Kuraray's site I see KBLB in exactly the same position. Fibers, adhesives, elastomers, composites, resins...

News after news is what's coming for KBLB. We all know it. As we move toward the CC and Shareholder Meeting there will be ups and downs for sure in the SP, but overall it's trending higher and higher. Big swings come with big news and KBLB has a lot to tell us.
Have a great day all!

Updated Ibox.
Almost .13 now, and you're right, not even PRd. If the CEO is taking the time to schedule a Shareholders meeting on top of the CC you know something's up. If Kim needs to change share classes or consider streamlining shareholder contact info and voting procedure, you know there's reason for it.
Plenty to think about..
Which country did Kim go to?
What has SSM produced with Monster Silk?
How did Big Red's testing come out?
Are they really that close to "Pure Spider Silk"?
Who's working with KBLB besides SSM?
GO KBLB!
I live on the west coast so unfortunately I will not be attending the meeting. I envy any of you who do make it to the meeting.
Does anyone think KBLB will have the CC before the Shareholders Meeting? I would think that Kim would want to outline what he has planned for the business at the CC first and then have the Shareholder meeting. We know he will be in town on Tuesday April 16th for the meeting so maybe the Friday before that will be the CC...just speculating.
GO KBLB!
Just hit .12!
Was going to follow up on that point, but canceled that post. They do have a lot as it is. It will be great to know the actual number of shareholders if possible from the Shareholders meeting.

Message Center, or just under Company News?

I have to agree, and from a lot of other posts I don't think anyone wants a reverse split. There have been a lot of good posts recently why KBLB is good right where it is. They could however discuss voting rights per share and adjust class type for shares purchased down the road. Perhaps shareholders at an earlier stage of the company might have a separate class of voting rights compared to those after a certain point, like maybe after the company releases actual specifics of commercialization structure.
There's also room for the possibility of Kim retiring x amount of shares.

I don't see it on my TDA site yet. Thanks for posting.
As KBLB goes commercial and things start falling into place I'm guessing Kim sees many issues that will need shareholder approval.
Exciting times right now for KBLB, second product being tested, first product going commercial and visits to foreign countries.
GO KBLB!
Will KBLB tighten up share structure?
Will we get the CC this month?
How's Big Red doing?
Why am I up so early??
Everyone have a great Easter weekend and be safe.

....some very entertaining posts lately.
I just have to say thanks to all the posters who take the time to add to the wealth of information that has been assembled here about this stock/company. I am consistently surprised by the community that has developed on this board around this company and the information that is shared with one another. Although I don't post as much as I used to I continue to read posts and update and shape the ibox as news/info comes. KBLB has issued a lot of news lately and we all know there is much more to come.
GO KBLB!
Can't wait for the CC!
Which foreign government invited KBLB?
What will be SSMs first product using Monster Silk(TM)?
How did BIG RED test?
If KBLB made BIG RED in an effort to gain strength but lose elasticity, will we be hearing about their next fiber that has exactly the opposite target specs?
Will KBLB really achieve a reasonable match to "pure" spider silk this year?
