Slowest moving storm I ever saw.
Not bad here. Worst was just after 1 AM, this morning.
North of here will have more to worry about...Georgia, Carolinas, et. al.
Bahamas, with 23-foot surge, is quite a disaster area.
Finally begins...35 mph winds as the appetizer. Next 24-48 hours will tell the tale.
The scale does not go above 5, mainly because the destruction factor does not compute after the strongest hurricanes on record. Not sure I fully go along with it, but apparently there is no worse destruction past 180, as it is designated catastrophic above a Cat. 4. It seems to me, if the unthinkable 200 mph or above occurs, like an F3 tornado, it can be worse.
I guess past thinking is, when buildings are gone, nothing is worse.
May lose power late tomorrow night (Monday/Labor Day).
Not a bad idea. Either that, or SCUBA gear.
We may need a 5.5 hurricane designation (although, above 185/200 may not make much of a difference).
20 - 30 feet
HAPPY HURRICANE/LABOR DAY.
I think I will take the day off...
and go for a swim. Maybe something like this:
LOL, I can see that.
This slow moving monster is like waiting on a dangerous snapping turtle.
Thank you, and yes, I always stick around. Get together with neighbors and help them.
Hopefully, our shallow coastline will minimize it somewhat, and it looks like it may shift a bit southward. In any case, it could be the big one...stay tuned.
I'll look at yours if you look at ours.
Dorian could be a problem in the near future...
Greetings from the soaking sun melt (uh, sun belt).
People starting to build arks again. If I meet somebody named Noah, I'm outta here.
Painfully, indubitably.
Good note, or you may get a hole in one.
An ADR down big today.
Right.
(& I Don't Know is on 3rd)
Maybe just tired...get re-tired again. (Oh my.)
I did not guess Right, I did Guess Who.
Ya mean, never?
Retired, or expired? lol
Guess...Who.
Indeed.
Nice...not for me. :-/
Weather here very nice for me. Comfortable during the day with unusually low humidity, and slightly cool at night. Quite a different April from the usual here, but most welcome.
The schedule looks favorable for him...like you said, if his back holds up.
It could be close. I think Nicklaus won his last one at 46 years old. Tiger is 43 in a time where athletes play longer...
Indeed. Rolling Stones (Jagger heart surgery) tour replaced by Fleetwood Mac (Jazz Fest), postponed due to Stevie Nicks' illness. Who's next? Who's left? Ok, I'll say it, The Who?
Will he catch Jack Nicklaus?
Bad (Good) Master Tiger Day!
Floridians are goofy too. Spent the evening at the Fairfield Inn bar (by Marriott). They had the fireplace going in 76-degree weather. A couple of Irish whiskeys, Cabernet Sauvignons, & a Bloody Mary, and I was hot.
They are culminating with the Hotel California concert in Las Vegas in September. (Naturally, with whomever is still alive.)
Maybe, but I bet you are not nearly as comfortable as I am.
The Eagles are playing again, so Hell is freezing over again.
Get outta the way!
I feel kinda bad sitting here on my balcony, partly sunny, 70's, light easterly breeze, very comfortable in my shorts, waiting for the Falcon Heavy launch from the Kennedy Space Center...
OK, I don't feel that bad...
but, hope all are safe up there at the North Pole annex.
I saw the snow forecast for MN on the weather channel this morning. Like I've said in the past, I don't know how you guys live there.
79 & sunny here now, thank you.
