Is anyone on the board shorting HFBG?
If so, which broker are you using?
I've looked around and have yet to find a broker with it as a shortable stock.
With all the negativity, here, I'm sure there has to be at least one shorter.
~Muddy
AA...Yes, please show us an instance.
Where phone calls killed deals. You appear very informed about the company. So I think we'd all appreciate your input on this.
~Muddy
No one is killing deals with phone calls. That's crazy
I just cannot buy that. That's another myth.
The company has a great product. I've tasted it. Received a bunch from the IR. But, it needs to be honest and upfront with investors. Stop putting out lofty PRs which it never intends to live up to. Why not put out conservative PRs and then exceed expectations? As opposed to putting out lofty PRs and only living up to 30-40% of the content? The latter is not a good way of shoring up market confidence in the company. The former would send this into orbit.
I have a nice position in HFBG. But, if shorting were allowed at brokers, I'd begin to do so.
That'd keep the company honest. We'd get to know its true strength.
~Muddy
I agree. HFBG on no shortable stock lists at brokers.
So it appears shorting by individual investors is a myth.
~Muddy
Who is shorting HFBG?
I checked Interactive Brokers list of shortable stocks. Not HFBG available.
I hear a lot of talk on this board about people shorting the stock.
Most brokers don't allow shorting of penny stocks. Interactive Brokers is one of the only that allows it. And HFBG is not one of its shortable stocks.
Are there any other brokers with HFBG as a shortable stock?
It just strikes me as a bit odd that we have talk about shorting when no brokers have HFBG as a shortable stock.
~Muddy
When are we going to get a website update?
That thing needs to be redesigned ASAP.
Has a bunch of old products on there. Looks very pre-2000 in terms of visual appeal!
It's not that difficult to get a better-lookin' website.
Shucks, even some on this board have volunteered to help.
~Muddy
Old news.
But, thanks for the info.
-Muddy
That's why I said it'd be a hit in the South.
I'm from the South, too. Mrs. Winner's tea was the the best approximation to some good homemade sweet tea. They sell it by the gallon! This is a fast food joint we're talking about!
Now, Mrs. Winner's is going under. Folks are going to want good tea.
Grandmama's Sweet Tea can fill that vacuum.
~Muddy
The school deal would be huge.
The sugar-free option is a no-brainer for kids.
~Muddy
Probably a deal reached with some major customer.
Good things are on the horizon, it seems.
The product is great. So a million customers can multiply pretty quickly based on positive reviews and word of mouth. A nice commercial would only help things.
~Muddy
Good analysis, Satellite.
I agree. Investors are looking for tangible results.
The company appears to be making the right moves.
~Muddy
Management has to get it on college campuses.
If so, it becomes a sensation.
Same here. That is, until I tasted the tea.
Then, I felt I needed to share what I thought about the product.
It is a winner. If the management team is aggressive in their efforts to really put it out there, it should be a bit hit.
The only other massed-produced sweet tea I've ever tasted that could rival it was at Mrs. Winner's. Folks from the Southeast know what I'm taking about!
Now, Mrs. Winner's just filed Chapter 11 and is closing many of its stores.
Folks are going to want some good tea. Grandmama's Sweet Tea can fill that void. Easily.
The South, alone, could generate incredible revenues for the company.
~Muddy~
Revenue will be generated so long as the tea is sold in the right places.
It'd be a hit in the South. So we need to be in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and other places.
Especially if we can get it on some of the big flagship college campuses.
Like the University of Georgia, University of Tennnessee, University of Texas, University of Alabama, UNC and so on.
College kids would love it.
And if we could get it into schools as an alternative to soda.
~Muddy~
I'm anxious to see the new website.
If we can get something as user-friendly and interactive as Sweet Leaf's, we'd be on our way.
And we have actual product.
A really good product. As more people taste it, they're going to want to buy in. Folks don't want energy drinks at times of the day. But, I can drink tea breakfast, lunch and dinner. And I do quite often!
The product is much better than other teas on the market.
Once we get to having different flavors of Grandmama's Sweet Tea, I expect us to gain a sizable share of the market.
Peach Tea would be orgasmic.
~Muddy~
And we don't even have to have ELITE athletes.
We don't need to have LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning and those types. They're too expensive.
We can go old school. Bring in naturally funny old school guys to complement LJ's humor.
People like Darryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins, Charles Barkley, Terry Bradshaw and others.
Chocolate Thunder would be a great fit in commercials with Grandmama.
Chocolate Thunder
I'm in a Catch-22 of sorts!
I've finished half of my tea samples. The product is just too good!
But, as I see my samples dwindling, I'm hesitant to drink more. But, I want to drink more.
It's like liquid crack. :)
We need more stores and online presence ASAP.
~Muddy~
What is the address for the IR's Facebook page?
Will have to save samples for Thanksgiving.
Looking forward to sippin' on tea alongside turkey, sweet potato pie, collard greens...the whole nine.
My family doesn't know about the tea.
I'm going to test it on them.
I'm almost done with my samples! :(
It's a good product. We need it in more stores and available for online purchase ASAP.
Makes them appear more legit.
Nevada just has an air of sketchiness about it!
I think the move to Delaware demonstrates that they're trying to improve the image of the company.
Delaware is a business friendly state. Lots of businesses incorporate there.
Delaware Business
Sweet Leaf has been around for a decade.
So, definitely a lot of work to get to where they are.
But this tea is a better-tasting product. It's up to management to work as hard as the Sweet Leaf guys did to make it a success.
We'll see what develops.
And I've tasted enough Sweet Leaf to say that HFBG is offering a better-tasting, more authentic "Southern" tea.
The website should have a testimonials section highlighting this.
I have no degree in marketing. So, I know if I'm thinking it, others are thinking it.
So let's make it happen, management!
The IR sent me the same message.
An updated website is a must. Especially if the company will be selling via the website.
All the defunct product lines need to be removed from the website to prevent confusion.
Remove Jim Brown if he isn't affiliated.
Sweet Leaf Tea
Notice how visual Sweet Leaf's website is. Also has the Facebook, Twitter and Myspace options to broadcast to friends.
That type of viral marketing is a must, too.
An interactive website would be nice.
Especially with sounds and images of Larry Johnson as "Grandmama"
That's what I was thinking.
A glass bottle would be a different look than most other teas on the market. And would give the psychological feel of making the tea feel cooler than normal.
But, as it stands, I'm impressed with the product.
I think it'd be a hit.
I wasn't convinced until I actually held the bottle in my hand and tasted it.
It IS delicious.
Was a bit skeptical until I was able to taste it myself.
I drink Arizona and Sweet Leaf, regularly. And the Wal-Mart and Kroger brand sweet teas.
But this tea beats them all. This is coming from someone born and raised in the South. So I know good tea when I taste it.
Management of HFBG really has a good product. I hope they don't blow it.
Website needs to be redesigned ASAP.
And focus mainly on the product the company is putting out there. If tea is the main focus, let's have the website revolve around that product.
Consumers shouldn't be seeing AD, HydroPower, Super Soda and other products if they aren't going to be produced.
It's a simple update. But a necessary update to make things clear for investors and potential customers.
Go HFBG.
Selling it by the gallon in grocery stores is a must.
The product tastes great. There's no doubt in my mind that it'd be competitive. It really tastes like "Southern" tea.
I just hope management makes it happen.
Do you own shares of HFBG?
My review of Grandmama's Sweet Southern Tea
It is a great tasting product. Easily the best tasting tea among the current offerings on the market. Has the true "Southern" taste I grew up on.
I'm from the South. And I've never really considered Arizona and other teas truly "Southern" offerings. It's hard to describe. But, I know "Southern" tea when I taste it. And "Gradmama's" has that taste.
I think we have a winner. If management can craft clever marketing campaigns, put it in more stores and so on, there's no doubt it'll catch on pretty quickly. And be profitable.
I agree. I just tasted my first bottle of regular tea.
Very smooth taste. I'm from the South. I've had a lot of tea. So I know a thing or two about good tea!
This can be a real winner. Much more authentic, "Southern" taste than Arizona and Sweet Leaf.
I just hope management continues to make progress.
I received samples!!!!
I didn't think I'd receive any samples after I received a response from the IR this morning. According to the IR, they'd shipped the last batch, as the company is on the verge of beefing up its online presence (i.e. ability for consumers to purchase tea online). Luckily, I am among those who received samples from the last batch.
They are currently in the refrigerator. It feels good to actually hold the product. I will post a review after I taste.
Go HFBG!
Purchase tea online, soon?
Apparently, we are close to having a better online presence per IR message. Maybe a way to purchase online.
The last of the samples went out last week. If you don't get anything from UPS by this week, then unfortunately you were too far down the list. We only had so many samples to send out, and we were told by the company to end the sample send-outs because their online marketing solution is close to being ready.
When did they send yours out? I think they're sending me some, too.
I'm ready to taste some tea!
