Why are we all assuming that his announcements were to come during Anaheim Comic Con? This is exactly what he said that got everyone worked up:
"I’m really looking forward to the Wizard Con and to meeting all the fans—plus, there’s something else!” said Stan. I’m also eager to hear everyone’s reaction when I tell them my two breaking news announcements!” When asked what the announcements were, he just smiled and said, “Hey, everyone loves surprises!"
"I'm also eager . . . when I tell them," doesn't necessitate a chronological connection to Comic Con. Is it not possible that he's mentioning his upcoming excitement about Wizard Con, number 1, and his upcoming excitement about his announcements, number 2? He never said that the announcements would be during Comic Con--only that he's excited about the reaction when he makes them. Why can't he speak of separate events in the future in one sitting? I do this all time. So does everyone else. Just because I mention them in tandem doesn't necessarily mean that they're chronologically/causally related.
