CPST cup and handle breakout on the monthly chart. This has more room to run, IMO.

No problemo AF. I have a rather lengthy list of scans and hopefully will have my MySQL server set up on my recently built desktop by the end of the week so I can download my own stock data and populate the tables to produce tons of auto-scans on my own.
Using TDA strategydesk gets quite cumbersome when you do so many different scans.
The 8x34 has been working extremely well lately too.

Hey Alex,
Can you use Schwab's VROC scans intraday? Is that what you are doing to find all these big time movers with enormous volume?
I haven't checked into this, but if it's possible I need to set this up and receive text/email alerts.
Keep up the great picks!
Thanks

AEN showing strength pre-market. Up 9.5% from yesterday's close. May be a good flipper today.

AEN and BIOD...Couple of EMA 8x34 crosses with heavy recent volume along with the cross. More room to the upside with these two.

In your experience, what e-wave patterns give you the best probability of success?
I assume the ABC descending wave.
~Boochy
Hey Highhertel,
Are your elliott waves based off intraday prices or closing prices?
I've studied them some, not in a lot of detail. I know you have the 5 waves for a rising pattern followed by 3 waves to a sinking pattern and you can have waves inside of other waves.
It can get quite confusing.
Thanks,
~Boochy
As guess it depends on whether you are an investor or a trader as to your opinion on ACLS.
If you are a trader and looking for a short term gain, the stock may not adhere to anyone's opinion on the financials of the stock. I look moreso at the chart and try to determine if the stock is going to be good in the near future, regardless of the financials.
That huge bearish engulfing candle that appeared when the stock was near 3 was a potential sign of weakness and the stock has since traded down to 2.23 level.
If you bought in around 3ish hoping to make a quick profit, you probably would also think the stock was a POS.
No matter how much pom pom waving is done, the market is the ultimate arbiter that determines the price of the stock.
The market is hardly ever correct long term (see Warren Buffet and Ben Graham), but short term it can be really tough.
People trade with emotions, thus the reason for the crazy volatility in most all stocks.

Hey Kevin,

Wow no takers on the info. Kinda shocked.

If anyone is interested in receiving the list of Golden Crosses and EMA 8x34 crosses I have compiled over the past several days, just let me know and I will send you an excel based list.
I am doing this so that we can hopefully get more analysis and eyeballs on the lists and hopefully come up with a good methodology of trading these events.
I have nearly every day of Golden crosses for the past month or so and I have sporadic data on the EMA 8x34 crosses, however I have been scanning these almost daily over the past week or so.
I was out of town in Panama City from Thursday - Sunday last week, so I missed a day or so of the crosses, but it's still a very lengthy list.
If you are interested, just let me know through the board with your email address and I will send the list later this evening.
All I ask is that whatever analysis you do on the list, that you share back with the group. If you believe you have a great method for getting the most bang for your buck in trading these, let everyone know.
We are all here to make money...and help each other out.
Thanks,
~Boochy
This was caused by a natural disaster. You can't place all the blame on the nuclear plant, as it was apparently safe. I mean what if a diesel was transporting toxic materials and crashed releasing the toxic materials into a heavily populated town.
You simply can't prevent all accidents from happening.
Natural disasters will continue happening and wreaking havoc regardless of whether we have 1 or a million nuclear power plants. With nuclear energy being one of the cheapest forms of energy, I don't foresee any changes taking place in this sector near term.
I believe wind and solar energy is a pipe dream because of the infrastructure that would it would take to transport the energy, not to mention the unpredictability with those two sources.
If you want cheap energy, you can't do without nuclear energy.
~Boochy
As in Lexington Ky?
Just curious as I am also in Ky actually.

Out of curiousity, why the name LexTrader?

Behold the power of the EMA 8x34 cross. Of my research on stocks that had an 8x34 EMA cross as going back to crosses that have been in play at least 1 month, I have arrived at the following conclusions:
1) 461 (97.5%)out of 473 of the crosses experienced a higher price than their crossing price on the day of the cross. Of the 12 that did not increase in price, only 7 never got back to their price at the cross.
2) Of those 461, the average hold time for them to hit their high price is 27 days.
3) 42 (9%) of them hit their highs the very next day.
4) 95 (20.6%) of them hit their highs within 7 days after the cross.
5) 54 (11.7%) of them hit their highs between 8-14 days after the cross.
6) 41 (8.9%) of them hit their highs between 15-21 days after the cross.
7) 38 (8.2%) of them hit their highs between 22-28 days after the cross.
8) 70 (15.2%) of them hit their highs between 29-35 days after the cross.
9) 50 (10.8%) of them hit their highs between 36-42 days after the cross.
10) 52 (11.3%) of them hit their highs between 43-49 days after the cross.
11) 41 (8.9%) of them hit their highs between 50-56 days after the cross.
12) 20 (4.3%) of them hit their highs between 57-63 days after the cross.
13) 149 (32.3%) of them hit their highs in under 2 weeks.
14) The average high for the 461 stocks was a whopping 19.1%
15) 299 (63.2%) out of 473 remain higher than they were at the cross. Their average price increase is 15.3%.
16) 168 (35.5%) out of the 473 are currently lower in price than at their cross by an average decrease of 8.9%.
17) 6 (1.3%) out of the 473 are currently at the same price as their cross price.
In my experience, this scan seems to be more powerful than the 50x200 SMA scan, but I will try to verify this new theory in the coming weeks with hard data.
I will continue to monitor the 8x34 EMA crosses going forward and compile as much information as possible on them.

So Greta, Alan Colmes, Juan Williams, Marc Lamont Hill, Kirsten Powers, Bob Beckel, Susan Estrich (havent seen her lately), Lanny Davis, Pat Caddell, Geraldo, and others are conservatives?
Hell, even Dick Morris was once a Democrat and was Bill Clinton's right hand man. Dick is one of my favorites because he usually shoots straight from the hip, other than when he talks about Hillary. He really seems to despise her for some reason, but on most other topics he tells it how it is. When the conservatives are screwing up he calls them out and he does the same for liberals.
I like Beckel, Williams, Caddell and Powers as well, even though I disagree with them on most all topics.
Hannity drives me crazy most of the time, but Fox seems to be much more fair than CNN and Al Jazeera. Al Jazeera is sharia loving muslims for the most part, so how you think they are fair baffles the mind.
Not sure where you are studying, but just because you are studying doesn't mean you know what you are talking about.
The majority of news is presented through a prism from the commentators point of view. They can spin it however way they like and that is the issue with all news channels.
Libya is going to blow up big and I just hope it's over with quickly so it doesn't adversely effect the market.
We are all here to make some dough and the unrest does none of us any good...except for those of us holding these volatile oil stocks. Just remember to keep your finger on the sell trigger in case Oil starts to reverse.
Have a good weekend.
So if it comes from FoxNews, it's not real facts? As opposed to the "real" facts from CNN, aka The "Communist News Network"?
I hope you are joking, right?
Let's all make some money and forget all the corrupt bureaucrats!

PEIX - The bears really pushed it back down from it's high today. Today's candle is ugly, and IMO it may need a little good news for a real solid breakout.
Been perplexed by it's weakness considering the perfect storm of high priced oil and middle east troubles. Seems there would be more of a push into alternatives.
