Nice. In 20 years when the MF has reached its full capacity those kids are still
in their late thirties and can probably already retire ? how nice.
Maybe your friend is not aware of the split either? If so he may get a shock just looking at today's pps vs the .66 he bought at
what i meant is 40% uncertainty or underguidance (to be extreme) of what can realistically be expected for 2015. Say if they internally expect a gross profit of 230M for 2015 (hypothetically), why not guide for only 0.6 x 230M = 138M for now (that's a rockbottom yoy increase of 7%) then as they get more funding and productions ramp up nicely they can guide for higher numbers?
Underpromise and overdeliver IOW.
HB: thanks for coining Siaf's ultimate second name. It says it all to me.
I lost track of when I first bought into SIAF. Maybe end of 2009 or Jan 2010 but this was my first post about SIAF on IHub:

then you donot want to listen to this but there are 2 things that get instis excited about a company (besides solid fundamentals): a CC and a guidance. If a company is not confident enough about its own earnings prospects to issue a guidance how the hell can it get a fund manager who is responsible for investing $$$ of others' money be excited and invest in it? How does he justify his decisions quarter after quarter to his investors? And it's mostly institutional money that moves a stock, not retail like you and me. Hopefully Bertil and Box Comm get this right. It's the 101 of investing IMO. Agreed?
I bought them thru ETrade and Tradeking.
If Bertil can get Solly to issue a guidance (how about a low balled one for now and upgrade it a few times later this year?) at the next ER which is just a week away I believe that would be a major catalyst for me. Half a dozen instis already in, many more are watching and just waiting for that damn guidance IMO.
Haha you brightened my day....
Louis Navallier has certainly a lot more cred in my book than the small cap analyst who issued the Sell recommendation yday. Did you ask your broker how many followers or readers of his newsletter he has? Never hurts to get new eyeballs.
you sure deserve a glass of Vintage 2009 wine of the finest kind the house has to offer at our $100 party as the oldest Siaf LONG still aboard (courtesy Empty on behalf of us all of course) if Joe doesn't dispute that title haha....
Wasn't Treit (Peter G) also in at that time? I remember he wrote a lot of informative posts early on that helped me decide to jump on board in 2010 first on and off for a while until I saw FF1 turn productive and have stayed in since late 2011.
I thought the PT was upgraded to $100! Nice 3 digit #.
another weird finding this am: pps jumped 19c in Premarket on 1000 volume !
EXTENDED HOURS:
Last: 15.20 Change: +0.190 (+1.27%) Bid: 15.20 x200 Ask: 15.25 x100
spot on. Is "Overbought" = expensive ? Then lots of items offered for sale on the annual Black Friday are expensive? hmm....
Yeah "too expensive" based on what? on PE of 1-2 ? Lol
Liquidity has not been a problem in the past mainly because of dumpage IMO. Going forward I think it will be increasingly a problem as shares become scarcer due to the stock getting more and more eyeballs from both retail and institutions on different exchanges. The particular share ownership dynamics of this stock will make it appreciate even faster than many of us realize. Hang tight on your shares folks and get ready for a big ride. JMO
I donot recall having had to submit any application. Don't think the F shs are tradable.
Jay: If you owned shares as of the record date which was some time in 2012 you should have received the F shares (100 regular shs for 1 F share) in your ETrade acct long ago. I remember I had called them at that time about the F shs and they told me that that would automatically be taken care of. I have received my F shs for a couple years now. Maybe you should call ETrade asap and ask if you still haven't received your F shs yet.
Nice to have you on the MB, NjNj.
Go Siaf!
I think HB said his group will own 20% of Siaf sometime this year. That's about 3.4m shs. If you add all the other U.S. owners it may be about 4m shs in the hands of Americans.
how come pps didnt move at all on that 200k trade? somebody playing games here...
yikes.
A 150% premium is not justifiable when most s/h are expecting a 2 to 300% pps increase within next 12 months just for a subpar trailing PE of 7 to 10 on OSE. Probably more as eps will rise too with time IMO. They will not get my vote for $25 to 40 i can tell you that.
You think so? Most of the longs have been here for as long as you two. For a good reason.
Even without those none of the other BOD members would sell now for less than...4 digits pps I would think.
Nah don't think so. How do you know it btw? You seem to know everything...
looks great, thanks Swede and NJM.
nice P. Keep up the good work.
Idk, the smaller tanks maybe. You can fill about 30 smaller tanks at a time with the 8000 cbm holding tower. There is plenty of work harvesting from 30 tanks full of kicking prawns I would think.
No pain no gain eh? Same here I hope ...
Got the truck loaded today with Nov 2.5 calls although at a slightly higher price than you. Thx for the alert SE.
Yup they can fill only so a certain amount of tanks at a time then they will refill the holding tank with fresh water from the river or sea, then fill the next set of tanks. There is no need of filling them all at a time since it probably takes days to harvest a batch so no need to have more or larger water holding tanks... Imo.
Yeah that's a 8000 cbm holding tank. Feeds about thirty 300 cbm fish tanks (say 10m x 10m x 3m each). My guess is the tanks have their own RAS and just need to be filled once at the beginning or after a complete emptying for maintenance. Every now and then the tanks just need to refilled to make up for evaporation and leaks... Maybe that's why they donot have so many (fresh) water holding tanks for the many many growout tanks.
RD: It doesnt mean the water holding tanks are underground. It just means they are housed in a semi open building.
Ask RD. That's what he said.
I hope you are right that all tanks are self-sufficient wrt water supply or refilling. If they make sure that the waste water from the tanks and the hydroponics grounds donot go back (even partially via seepage) into the underground reservoirs then we can probably say that all tanks are free of diseases. Otherwise water just like bacteria knows no boundaries unless it's contained in an insulated tank or reservoir and treated accordingly.
the only way we know it for sure is that when each tank has its own RAS system and that water is not being pumped back to a main tower or sump where viruses can spread to other tanks. Whether the biofilters and UV filters can destroy all viruses or bacterias is still uncertain IMO. Some virus strains have been shown to be even antibiotics resistant. I am not a biotech or biochemist expert, just read about that stuff somewhere.
I think they are talking about John Fredrikson, major s/h of Marine Harvest, not FD of ECAB.
