when a company decides to buy back its own stock it tells the market in unequivocal terms that it sees its own stock as the best growth opportunity, better than any operational move. I agree that's the case when the P/E is 2-3 instead of 20-30 where it should be. But if Mgmt sees a better, more accretive way to increase s/h value in the longer term they should of course weigh the pros and cons of both. Most companies that buy back their stock do so only with their excess cash. It's however another matter if they can convince somebody to lend them money just for the purpose of buying back shares. I have rarely seen a loan for only that purpose. OTH if it's a 100M loan and they are using only 1/10 of it for a share buyback I can see it being approved.
Bruce: there are lots of variables of course that determine the final offer price of a buyout. But I also expect a premium of 30 to max 50% of stock price if we get bought out. I think most anticipations tend to get baked into the pps as with most other stocks. So I am no longer looking forward to a buyout until the pps has advanced to near 3 digits that would appear more acceptable to most shareholders.
yes the BNN interview was discussed here a few times where PT had mentioned S3D's partnership with VMWare and Microsoft.
payment of promised dividends could be an issue IMO. If I were the regulator I would not take a chance admitting a company that does not pay declared dividends to its s/h while every thing else looks fine on the paper... Would you?
As I pointed out before, last year June was the month with the most new listings on FN, even surpassing Sep and Dec. What summer lull? Stock exchanges donot go to summer vacations...

I am for both hah...
from the horse mouth wow...

same with Etrade as of 5Pm yday. Here is the message I got :
Thank you for your message regarding a dividend for SINO ARGO FOOD INC NON CONV PREFERRED SERIES F RESTRICTED.
The dividend has not been received. I have submitted a dividend research request for additional information. Please allow 2-3 business for completion. Thank you again and have a good day.
yup that's what I originally had in Post #26622. About 3.2M new shs if all warrants exercised or 9% max dilution. Not bad at all as I expect the pps to at least double before the year ends. Have put mucho options money where my mouth is. You too?
ok so max dilution = 1.62/35= 4.6%?
Options 3 and 4 seem most likely to me. Btw can you explain why 5.2M new shs?
TMK Siaf never had any warrants before Sep last year. The new warrants with ECAB have not been exercised yet. The 30-40M shs they had issued prior to that were to their JV partners and vendors. But KNDI had a few PP in the past with many warrants attached that always put a lid on the pps (at least for a while) and also probably used by the financiers (who were the same group with a FROR) to short the stock against. Hope we are not running into that problem here bc the 2 PP investors are IMO a different group here.
I think the same, just wanted to see what max dilution it is.
Does it mean 3.2+ M shs if all warrants are exercised?
"Giant river shrimp"= Green Giant Prawn
"Vannamei shrimp= Mexican White Prawn
Eels, Sleepy Cod... Who else can it be but Siaf?
agreed. The only reason we haven't seen a filing yet is bc they have not reached 5% imo.
Shouldn't they file a SC 13G when they exceed 5% ownership?
Well ANY has validation from more than one respected name. Maybe are Microsoft, Dell, Ericsson... all wrong like Mayo Clinic?
It was Solomon who said that acc. to the transcript.
yes I expect the impact of the refresh contract b/w 400 hospitals and Novorad on Q3 financials to be significant. Worth quoting in this context what Orion Nebula (with 35 years of experience in this hospital admin field) had to say about the Novorad deal (see stickie):

yeah that's why I said "temporary bottom". Until good news come.
nice call TF. Here is a different view of the MA's with today's MA 50 at 13.20 (vs. yesterday 13.11) and RSI at 45.5. Hopefully we have reached a temporary bottom.

SE: I wouldn't bet the farm on a buyout offer by mid Nov but a stellar Q3 E/R that seems quite possible based on what has already transpired so far (see below) is all it takes to send the pps to a new range well above $5... Let' say Q3 rev comes in near 40M (double that of Q1) or higher and prompts Mgmt to drastically revise upward the $160M rev run rate target for Q4'15. Just what instis have been waiting for to pile on the stock and blow shorts out of the water...A possible scenario IMO...
From Mac's post # 26114:
They need to own about 900k shs to be a major s/h.
Couldn't resist adding some more Nov 5 calls at 55c just now.
Was that the question whose answer from the MS rep was like "bc we cannot do what S3D's technology does"?
Sounds very familiar to me too. Something of major importance always happens along the way and pushes the time line of the much awaited Arrival Date a year or two back... But when the Day arrives or in process of arriving it makes the wait really worth it. I am (presumably) going thru latter experience with one of my other "story stocks" that gives me the extra energy to wait here a little longer. Another year with ANY''s prospects is N0 problemo for me.
agreed. We have given back about 20% of the 100% gain we've got since Feb 1. Not too shabby so far imo.
hmm.. the 2014 10k page 122 says he's 65. From past filings I remember his age well b/c he's one year older than me hah. The guy can't be 72 imo.
Lee Yip Kun Solomon 65 CEO and Director
Tan Poay Teik 56 Chief Marketing Officer and Director
Chen Bor Hann 50 Secretary and Director
Yap Koi Ming (George) 62 Independent Director
Nils Erik Sandberg 74 Independent Director
Daniel Ritchey 46 Independent Director
Lim Chang Soh (Anthony) 51 Independent Director
Olivia Lai 55 Chief Financial Officer
I donot think Solomon is 72 years old. You may have mixed his age up with Nisse's. He's 64 if memory serves.
I think Bertil mentioned the FN listing possibly before the summer (but he added he couldnot guarantee anything IIRC) on the first CC that preceeded the recent one.
As for the F share dividend I talked to ETrade back office today. They still haven't received any payment yet be it a check or electronic transfer. The moment they receive it they will send me a PM. Fyi
now trading below the lower BB bound...hopefully support at MA 50 (13.11)

sounds like SnapCloud will be a BIG money maker for S3D to me. Who would have thought that when they bought Overland?
Not being a chartist I have been often irritated by a log scale that distorts things compared to a linear scale at least when I am interested in ST movements. That said that chart gives a very clear message as to what we may expect in the ST. The stock has gotten a little ahead of itself in recent months and can use a good consolidation before good news come. JMO
BB: I hope not. But if it does, a drop of 30% means we may revisit the $12 level before the stock turns.
