Top reasons to invest in a penny stock
1) Management:
Experienced management who has a proven track record and are ethical/credible in their conduct of activities
CHECK; SAME DIRECTORS OF AWSL WHO HAVENT DUMPED THEIR SHARES EVEN THOUGH THE STOCK WENT UP 30 FOLD
2) Product;
Must be a unique product that is in demand
CHECK: PROVEN PRODUCT IN OTHER COUNTRIES WHICH HAPPENS TO ALSO BE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.
3) Shares outstanding:
Shares outstanding should be limited, anywhere between 5 to 100M
CHECK: MEVT HAS ONLY APPROX. 16M SHARES
4) Debt
Company should be little or no debt
CHECK: THEY HAVE LITTLE OR NO BURN RATE
5) Potential
Is there a demand?
CHECK: 20 BILLION LOST ANNUALLY DUE TO FIRES IN THE USA ALONE. OTHER PRODUCTS OUT THERE BUT MOSTLY ARE RETARDANTS AND NOT INHIBITORS.
POTENTIAL FOR THIS PRODUCT TO BE SOLD TO COUNTLESS INDUSTRIES.
Conclusion:
Every one should do their own due diligence when investing in a penny stock.
These reasons pointed out are crucial if you want to be successful. There are many penny stocks that are pump and dumps. This management has never been associated with any scams or bad press.
John Embry, one of the most successful money managers in Canada will only invest in penny stocks with proven and credible management. He understands that even though sales and earnings are very important it may take a while to be successful.
If quality, proven, credible, ethical management are in place with a unique product it will be only a matter of time before the company is successful.
It would be amazing if one day John Embry gets a whiff of this stock...If he ever does this stock will EASILY go up 10 fold from that point...Is management listening? lol
truly a lovely sight benbarba

How Market Makers Work
Market makers "make" or set both the bid and the ask prices on their systems and display them publicly on their quote screens. They stand prepared to make transactions at these prices with their customers, who range from banks to retail traders. In doing this, market makers provide some liquidity to the market. As counter parties to each transaction in terms of pricing, market makers must take the opposite side of your trade. In other words, whenever you sell, they must buy from you, and vice versa.
Spread the difference between the bid and the ask price, and is often fixed by each market maker. Usually, spreads are kept fairly reasonable as a result of the stiff competition between numerous market makers. As counter parties, many of them will then try to hedge, or cover, your order by passing it on to someone else. But there are also times in which market makers may decide to hold your order and trade against you.
There are two main types of market makers: retail and institutional. Institutional market makers can be banks or other large corporations who usually offer a bid/ask quote to other banks, institutions, ECNs, or even retail market makers. Retail market makers are usually companies dedicated to offering retail trading services to individual traders.
btw we had an "institutional" market maker last week come for a visit a couple of times, BMIC - Biltmore International Corporation. Any guesses as to why a hint would be simply institutional.
As counter parties, many of them will then try to hedge, or cover, your order by passing it on to someone else. But there are also times in which market makers may decide to hold your order and trade against you.
Let's make them work for us. No sells & they will raise the price as they need shares. Buy/Sell only @ ask & they will raise the ask & everyone will profit more. And that is why we are here, right to profit & prosper.

very interesting read: Increased strain on our healthcare system
http://cupe.ca/health-care/health-care-associated-infections#how-hais-affect-us
Healthcare associated infections not only increase patient suffering and cause preventable deaths; they also place an avoidable burden on healthcare workers and the healthcare system.28 Numerous studies have conclusively shown that healthcare associated infections substantially increase patients’ length of stay in hospital and increase healthcare spending, both in hospital and after discharge.
In the UK, researchers found that after adjusting for other factors that might influence length of stay, patients with a healthcare associated infection, compared to uninfected patients, on average:
stayed in hospital 11 days longer
incurred 2.9 times greater hospital costs, and
incurred 3.2 greater post-discharge costs.29
A report by Cambridge University Hospitals reported that “C. difficile diarrhea can delay a patient’s discharge from hospital by up to three weeks.”30
A survey of Canadian hospitals (reported in 2000) estimated the direct costs of hospital acquired infections in Canada to be approximately $1 billion annually.31 In 2007, MRSA alone was estimated to be costing Canada’s healthcare system $200-250 million per year .32
Estimates of the cost per patient in hospital vary by type of infection and hospital department:
A survey of Canadian hospitals found that managing the care of a patient infected with MRSA cost between $16,836 and $35,000 (2004 dollars).33
In 2007, British Columbia health authority officials estimated that seven percent of all patients infected with C. difficile are readmitted to hospital, requiring an additional 13.6 days of hospital care, costing an extra $18,000 or more each ($900 per day plus an additional $5,800 in treatment costs). In 2002/2003, the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority spent over $3 million treating 2,526 readmitted patients with C. difficile34
In Calgary, Alberta, researchers found that ICU acquired bloodstream infections cost an extra $25,144 per patient.
The costs of healthcare associated infections are now being compounded by lawsuits on behalf of patients who have suffered or died from HAIs. In Ontario, there is a $50 million lawsuit arising from the 20-month Joseph Brant outbreak in Burlington in which 91 patients infected with C. difficile died.35 Patients and family members in Quebec are similarly seeking $10 million compensation from the hospital for the suffering and death of patients infected during an outbreak of C. difficile at Honoré-Mercier hospital near Montreal.36
The cost of HAIs extends beyond the hospital. There are costs borne by home and community care services as well as by individual patients and their families. After discharge, patients with HAIs (compared to uninfected patients) have significantly higher personal medical costs, more visits from community nurses, greater reliance on hospital outpatient and emergency services, and more visits to their family doctor.37
The benefits of preventing HAIs far outweigh the costs of treating them.38
Hospitals in the Netherlands have maintained low levels of MRSA infections (approximately one percent) because of their “search and destroy” strategy. The “search and destroy” approach includes screening, isolation cohorting39, decolonization of MRSA infected patients40, education of healthcare workers, daily disinfection of rooms and the healthcare environment.41 While it can be argued that the “search and destroy” approach is costly because it is very labour intensive, recent economic analysis of the approach revealed that the “search and destroy” policy was cheaper to implement than the cost of treating MRSA infections.42
The added and avoidable strain that HAIs place on the healthcare system is happening at a time when staff is in short supply and the healthcare system is under pressure

Medizone International, Inc. Announces Establishment of Canadian Foundation for Global Health
Posted on: Thursday, 30 October 2008, 09:00 CDT
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medizone International, Inc. (Pink Sheets: MZEI) is pleased to announce the formal establishment of a not-for-profit affiliate, the Canadian Foundation for Global Health (CFGH). CFGH was founded under Canadian Federal Law as a not-for-profit Canadian Corporation headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Under the leadership of Dr. Michael E. Shannon, a founding Director and the foundations' newly appointed President, it is anticipated that the foundation will attract a broad spectrum of the most highly qualified scientists, infectious disease specialists and other medical health professionals from diverse fields of interest to serve on its Board of Directors, Science Advisory Board or as Principal Investigators.
Medizone's Board of Directors have adopted a business philosophy of "creating a corporate paradigm in which the corporation's profit follows its' social contribution." The establishment of this foundation fits into that paradigm not only by being positioned to attract the highest quality professionals possible to our research projects, but it is envisioned that as Medizone's products and treatments become ready for market, the foundation may play a vital role as a distribution source for developing countries with varying price breaks depending on the county's needs and the availability of international assistance; we intend to make effort through both the for-profit and the non-profit to make affordable medical solutions as widely available as possible for the people of the planet.
Medizone International, Inc., is a research and development stage company engaged in the development of novel technologies and protocols for O3 based bio-oxidative treatment of diseases caused by lipid enveloped viruses, including Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Hepatitis B & C, and Herpes, the decontamination of blood, blood products and veterinarian serum products, and the treatment of external pathogenic conditions. It is currently developing technology to sterilize hospital surgical suites, emergency rooms and intensive care units.
This Press Release contains certain forward looking statements that involve substantial risks and uncertainties, including, but not limited to, the results of ongoing clinical studies, economic conditions, product and technology development, production efficiencies, product demand, competitive products, competitive environment, successful testing and government regulatory issues. Additional risks are identified in the company's filings made with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Medicare has named hospital acquired infections associated with three common procedures for which it will no longer reimburse hospitals, starting later this year. This means from October 2009, prevention of health-care acquired infections will come down to dollars and cents issues for hospitals. With the Medicare announcement that it will no longer pay for treating eight preventable hospital errors hospitals have a huge incentive to prevent HAIs. It is likely some insurance companies will follow the government’s lead and also stop covering the cost of many HAIs.
Medizone has the answer for this global problem. We invite you to watch the video on the AsepticSure™ development program as presented at Medizone’s recent AGM by Dr. Shannon and myself. Not only can AsepticSure™ save countless thousands of lives, it will save hospitals an estimated $6 to $7 for each one-dollar invested.
it is not only GREAT - it is UNIQUE :)

Reasons investors buy penny stocks and how it relates to MEVT;
The Pink Sheets are an exchange where most startup companies first get listed. There are no listing requirements to be traded on this exchange. A company does not have to have any sales, nor does it have to reveal how many shares outstanding it has to qualify for the Pink Sheets. MEVT VOLUNTARILY REVEALS THEIR SHARES OUTSTANDING -(by the way they are only at 15,979,373)
The reason why a company tries to get listed on the Pink Sheets, even though their stock will not go up in price because they have no sales to speak of, is because it gives their company more substance and credibility; it is typically easier to attract additional capital, obtain financing, and execute contracts and agreements if a company is publicly traded, even if it is on the Pink Sheets. MEVT HAS BEEN LISTED ON THE PINKS SINCE 2007
Also, it is easier to get transferred from the Pink Sheets to one of the larger exchanges than it is to go from being a private company to hopping directly on to one of the major exchanges, such as the NASDAQ or NYSE. Companies listed on the Pink Sheets trade as ridiculously low as $0.00001 per share, all the way up to $500 per share and sometimes beyond. MEVT WILL GO ONTO A LARGER EXCHANGE
The OTC (Over-The-Counter) Bulletin Board is similar to the Pink Sheets. This exchange consists of relatively young companies either with no sales or a small amount of sales. Companies listed on it are sometimes fully reporting (meaning that they reveal how many shares they have outstanding and what their balance sheet looks like). Often, companies go from the Pink Sheets to the Bulletin Board once they are ready to become fully or semi-reporting. MEVT IS WORKING ON BECOMING FULLY REPORTING
Most publicly traded companies that are now listed on one of the major exchanges (NASADAQ, AMEX, NYSE), at one time or another, were penny stocks listed on the Pink Sheets or Bulletin Board. Rarely does a company go from being private directly to one of the 3 major exchanges. Google is a rare example of a company that was able to do that, because they were so successful so quickly. But, most companies have to pay their dues and edge their way up from the penny stock exchanges to the bigger ones. MEVT HAS PAID THEIR DUES. THIS COMPANY WILL HAVE REAL REVENUES BECAUSE OF THEIR REAL PRODUCT
So, investing in penny stocks can be an excellent investment because some of these young companies will one day be worth a fortune. The hard part is finding the right company to invest in, because for every successful startup company, there is also one that fails within the first year or two. MEVT COULD HAVE FAILED DUE TO SHENANIGANS FROM PREVIOUS MANAGEMENT BUT IS STILL AROUND WILL COME BACK STRONGER THAN EVER
To find the right company, there are a few things you need to look for. Number one, you need to do some research and try to find out how many shares the company has in its float. The float is the number of shares that are currently being traded. Companies listed on the Pink Sheets usually do not officially report this number to the public, but with a little research, you can usually find out. It is usually contained in articles written about the company, or in TV or radio interviews with company officials that are sometimes archived on certain websites. MEVT IS ANNOUNCING THEIR SHARES WITH THEIR PRESS RELEASES
You can also look for the information on message boards or forums where stock traders chat with each other. Simply do a search on Google and read every article ever written about the company, and you will likely find out about their float. This is important because you do not want to invest in a company that already has something like 500 million shares in its float. Companies with this kind of share count are likely having problems moving forward, so they have issued more and more shares to raise money just to stay alive. You want to look for companies that have approximately 5 to 100 million shares in their float. MEVT IS ONE OF THE FEW PENNY STOCKS WITH A TIGHT FLOAT (16M), A REVOLUTIONARY PRODUCT, SOLID MANAGEMENT
Other things that you should look for in a new company are barriers to entry, patents, and consumer demand. Here are the questions you need to ask yourself when analyzing the probability that a company will be successful:
1) Barriers to Entry: Are there are obstacles that will make it difficult for the company to sell its products or services? NO OBSTACLES; THEY ALREADY HAVE WORLD WIDE CERTIFICATIONS FOR THEIR PRODUCTS. THEY WILL HAVE THEM FOR THE USA. WE ARE A GREEN PRODUCT LIVING IN A GREEN WORLD
2) Patents: Is the product that the company is going to sell patented? A patent will prevent other companies from producing the exact same product. ITS NOT PATENTED BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT THEIR COMPETITION CHANGING A COMPOUND OR TWO AND CALLING IT THEIR OWN. I BELIEVE THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN INVENTED SINCE THE 80'S AND SELLING VERY WELL IN ASIA. ITS A UNIQUE PRODUCT THAT CAN IMPACT UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF INDUSTRIES
3) Consumer Demand: Will there be a demand for what the company is selling? Sometimes a company has a great new invention or an exciting technology, but if it is not something practical that consumers are going to want or need, then it does not matter how great it is. BILLIONS OF DOLLARS LOST A YEAR AS A RESULT OF FIRES; THIS PRODUCT IS ALSO ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY...IS THERE A NEED?...UHHH YEAH!
4) Management: Ensure management is credible: MANAGEMENT HAS BEEN FIGHTING FOR THIS COMPANY SINCE 2007. THEY ARE NOT HERE TO HOODWINK ANYONE. BESIDES EXPERIENCE (SEE SHARE PRICE OF AWSL) AND KNOW-HOW THEY HAVE ETHICS!
THIS STOCK HAS ALL THE MAKINGS TO BECOME A STOCK THAT GENERATES MILLIONS OF REVENUES THATS TRADING ON A MAJOR EXCHANGE
DO YOUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE!
