Cassandra,
My Lucie also died of cancer at 11 1/2 years old in May, 2000. I never thought I would be able to get another dog after her because I was so distraught when she died. I finally got to the point where I realized that the house was too quiet and I needed a little puppy around to make me laugh again!
I went to http://www.petfinder.com/ and was looking for awhile. I finally put in an ad myself and within a week I got an e-mail from the person who had rescued Bailey's mom from Atlanta, GA the day before she was scheduled to be put down. This woman lived 5 minutes from my house. I originally thought I was going to get the Momma dog because she herself was a baby but the woman got so attached to her that she decided to keep her. I got the pick of the litter, and we liked Bailey so that's how we got her.
Geez....I guess I should have posted this on the PETS board! Churak will be pissed!!!!
They (whoever they are) say that mixed breeds are the healthiest.
Right now when Bailey is cute, I could eat her up, but when she's in her crazy mood......I want to give her back! (nah, I could never do that!)
Tomorrow she is going to see some of her brothers and sisters. She's one of ten.
Sometimes it might be cheaper to hire a decorator to help you rather than to buy ten quarts of paint.
Now why didn't I think of that!
A chip (in the store or in the house) just doesn't do it for me! I am not good at visualizing the whole picture.
When I buy a car, it's gonna be a color that they have on the lot.....when I buy a couch, it's gonna be the material they have in the showroom. I need to SEE what it's going to look like!!!!
Isn't that why they have fitting rooms???? It's not to see if something fits,,,,,,it's to see how the color looks!
AK,
I know that was meant to be a joke but believe me it ain't so far from the truth!
I live in the 10 mile radius of a nuclear power plant and they test the sirens from time to time. One day I happen to be driving past where one of them was located. Damn near drove off the road because it scared the living hell outta me!
Piercing!
I thought I was the only one who did that with the quarts! I could open my own paint store with all of the quarts of paint that I have bought and then hated the color!!!!
BTW....as the paint dries in the room, it's starting to grow on me. Either that or it looks better at nightfall!
At least a Heinz 57! Mom's a beagle-dachsund mix and Dad's a mystery.
I guess it's time to let my fingers do the walking!
Dragging...
Drag a dry brush through a thin layer of the glaze color.
Recommended on very flat vertical or horizontal surfaces - walls, paneling and doors.
Additional Tools/Materials: 4" nylon/polyester paintbrush or wallpaper brush, cloth rags.
Application Tips:
Simulating the textured look of silk, Dragging offers an attractive solution to disguising the grooves in wood paneling.
Dragging is much easier on smaller areas such as molding, doors and furniture than on walls, since straight lines are difficult to achieve. When Dragging on walls, use a straight edge to lightly pencil guidelines every 12 inches or so.
For a woven or linen look, additionally drag your brush horizontally across your vertically Dragged wet surface.
Hold your dragging or wallpaper brush parallel to the surface and press the brush flat against the wall, tilting the handle toward you. This keeps the bristles rigid. Pressing too hard will cause the tips to create a streaked imprint.
Steps:
The thinner the glaze, the better, as long as it doesn't run. Be aware that a thin glaze dries quickly, so you'll need to work fast.
Beginning at the top of the surface, brush or roll a thin, even amount of the glaze color.
With light, even pressure, drag your dry brush downward through the glaze color. To maintain a dry brush, always wipe the brush with a cloth after each pass.
For a more coarse effect, drag the surface a second time.
For a softer effect, lightly brush the tips of a dry brush over the damp dragged surface. Make sure that the brush strokes are in the same direction.
Ah.....I guess I'm a little slow on the uptake!
Not something that I think about while in Vegas!
I kinda liked it myself! LOL
It wasn't the post as much as where you posted it! I don't like posting there and I just had to rebut.
Did you see my response yet?
BTW...nice grub
Best garlic fries in the whole wide world is at Giants Stadium!
After your post on the zoo ealier, you are lucky that I don't send you a knuckle sandwich you Canucklehead!
Something I don't do well.
A picture of what? The room?, me, the map to get here?
Be more specific
AK,
When we were in California last year we were driving somewhere (I don't remember where) when all of a sudden all I could smell was garlic! We happened to be driving through Gilroy which apparently is the garlic capital of the world. We were a day late or else we could have enjoyed the garlic festival which included garlic ice cream. Yechhhh!!!!
If I could get them you would have yourself a deal!
How about a game some time in July? Beer tastes better in the hot sun anyway!
Unless he plans on sightseeing (other than the strip), he won't need a car in Vegas!
The last time we rented one, we used it to get from the airport to the hotel and back again. The next time we used a cab!
If he wants to see the desert, he should go to Phoenix!
Colleen,
I am not angry at BnB. I don't do angry very well.
There is a little controversy going on between a few posters and I feel as if I have been put in the middle.
Enough said 'bout that. Now I need a $%$%@^%$ painter!
Please send Paul!
The stripping is done, decided against the stipling(?) and now I am in to dragging.
There is nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment when you do a job and it comes out great.
OTOH....it completely sucks when it comes out bad because you don't know what in the hell you are doing!!!!!!!
LOL...I'm trying! See previous post.
Soxy,
Would you come over here and help me?
Please?
I am taking a break from the world's worst painting job Colleen!
AK, pics are on the way!
Colleen, are you stuttering today or did I end up on RB?
Uhh.....she saw it and she's NOT pleased!
You can find her response on the zoo.
Please don't make her post there anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a harder habit to break than quitting smoking!
Occasionally?
Do I get a pic of it?
Thanks guys!
ah.....that's a plan!
I agree.......where can we go, low?
