OT: Good Morning,
I'm a lurker here, but wanted to share this regarding all the comments on the board regarding the state of the world, terrorists, etc..
When I was growing up, I lived in the Florida Keys during the Cuban Crisis. I was very young then, but I recall the feeling that this might be the end for many of us due to the missiles aimed towards Cuba, the inundation of service men sent to Key West, and the general feeling of being on alert for something potentially very bad. Fortunately, we avoided a terrible situation.
I also remember The Cold War with the concerns regarding a nuclear war and how some people were building bomb shelters, etc. Again, we survived that.
Regarding the current situation, I get up everyday and I thank God for the day, my health, and what I have. While I know we have to be realistic and prepared, to live our lives in fear of what might happen certainly puts a damper on our days. After many things that have gone on in my life (losing a husband early in life, etc.), I appreciate and am thankful for what I have.
In summary, we all are blessed to have this wonderful board here with the help and direction we get from Zeev (btw, thank you so much) and others. There is much that we can look to with a thankful heart. I, personally, prefer to do that. Each day is a new beginning and things often seem to work out with time. I know this board isn't for political reasons, nor will I make it so, but I think new leadership and the perception that it could bring to the world might make a big difference. Of course, that's just my humble opinion.
I don't know that I can answer any posts to me for I'm not really a member with posting rights other than I think I'm allowed to make just a few posts in all. This is my second post, as I recall. Maybe that's all I get.LOL
Best Wishes,
Doribee
