Freedom needs to be a larger discussion in our global society.

Listen to the end.
JCPinny - I agree. I don't know if this Bloomberg article has been posted and its a bit of a long read. Maybe some here will find the article interesting. Ecaps are mentioned and there's a champagne glass waterfall graphic that's a bit odd. Comments welcomed.

The Last of Lehman Brothers
The bank whose collapse marked the beginning of the 2008 financial crisis is only mostly dead. These are the people attending to its last remains ahead of its final court cases.

Daryl Rattigan arrived at Lehman Brothers 18 years ago for a three-month assignment from his law firm. Eventually the bank gave him a full-time job at its real estate finance arm in London.
Then the bank suddenly collapsed.
And he’s still there, almost 14 years later.
It turns out that when global financial institutions die, it can take a while. These deaths require caretakers. The spirit of a bank, even in life, is debt, and debts don’t settle easily into a grave. Most of the assets banks own are the debts of others: the mortgages, commercial loans, and IOUs payable to the bank. On the other side, of course, banks owe—to their bond- and note holders, counterparties in financial trades, and a long list of other creditors. Banks such as Lehman topple over when they suddenly can’t wring enough cash from their assets to meet their liabilities....

I need to change imagine to feel in the previous post. I might only be able to imagine what it must be like for them when they have actually experienced (felt) it change their lives.
Dear Ghost - I imagine that many people from Ukraine are feeling much the same way and not because of a social gender issue but war. It could be much worse if you didn't have the freedom of living in a democratic republic that isn't a neighbor of Russia. Would you prefer tanks for the memories?
Trades short term are mostly crap shoots in periods of high volatility...and some investments aren't when volatility ebbs.
Trust yourself to know the difference.
Pagello - Thanks for your explanation. You know what you're doing. I'm not an expert at charting. I do like the finviz screener for info and stockcharts gallery charts for a quick look in multiple timeframes.
Oh and we all know size doesn't matter. I'm all about that base....
Sorry I thought 3900 was one of your targets. I'm primarily watching and looking for the same thing you are with less energy expended. Do you have any thoughts on the why the VIX seems stuck in a volatile and yet not capitulatory range? Tomorrow's PPI may shed some light.
Cheers.
Kudos GDL - Congrats. Hope you made some big bucks on your bets. The VIX is behaving oddly though and not signaling anything definite.
Cool chart Pagello. I am curious why you picked a 1 year and 4 months timeframe for "it" though. Also asking Ghost if he thinks its odd how the VIX is(n't) responding as the SPY market closes on a lower low. Something feels strange but maybe that's just me.
Pagello - You are a fortunate person. JW on SusieQ is magnificent!
Knowledge is a gift. Education is priceless.

SCA - You're welcome. Easter was good. It's not easy being any color these days still I prefer green.
Oh Pagello - I can handle some "light" reading. Good joke btw.
My apologies if you were triggered by the Dame Julie Andrews video. It was a gentle jibe from your "my favorite things" comment.
I'd have thought your favorite things were more in this culture.
Thanks Pagello - That helps me since you put inflation and can in quotes. If I'm understanding your point, you feel the Federal Reserve and a duly elected Congress dropped the inflation bomb in 2009 by bailing out the big banks. You realize that the same big banks were operating under another president prior to 2009 when most of those bad loans were packaged.

What would you do now to solve a problem inherited by another and how or when would know if it worked because of what you did? The world and our economy is more than politics imo.
I agree that the major indices could have a significant drop from these levels.
So tell me have those indices benefited in the past decade plus from narrow leadership? If so, there is an alternative reality in the market that isn't well represented by the mainstream financial press of stock market performance.
Great board btw.
An excellent rebuttal. Thanks for posting it.

Another alternative perspective to SPY charts.
My google search: How does the market perform in a midterm election years.

There are certainly examples to support your position. I picked this one though I encourage a deeper dive.

Any short term positions on the VIX in this loved disaster?

"Love the fact that everything is pointing to a disaster."
Godfather - I agree with your post. Time will tell.
Some streaming network should reboot this show. One season wasn't enough. It was quite good satire.
pagello - Please say more. I'm interested in your or others thoughts.
Meanwhile an anthem for our democracy.

Currently high short interest with volume dropping. Great name.
JHawg - Its an eternity of education in patience.
Oh my the 24th distro?
We're all in this world together. Deciphering shit or stuff? I guess that's why it's an "alternative reality" board.
It's magickal and in all ways us.
