Agreed. Only thing missing is BIG volume.. What will be the trigger? This will not wait until Q1 2011 Rida results..something will have to give before then..
Ariad is looking very good, America!
Good interview with THE key scientist at Ariad:

How about, SarcomaArrestTor?
Thanks Don, for bringing us back on track from the path of fear mongering..
Thanks BTH, I knew you would come around and see it my way..
I'm extremely confident Rida's name WILL NOT be JENZYL.
It most certainly will have the "tor" in the name. Watch.
I don't see it either.. I believe the author sees a pattern, but doesn't understand the other components to validate the pattern..
Barry well said.. With 650 patients, there is absolutely no way that some of the patient responses are not known..
An advanced pipline with 2.5 drugs, and Mr. Market wants nothing of it.. Strange, to say the least...
They wacked it the day before the earnings call... What nerve!
Another reason why we need new treatments for this dreaded cancer:

hedge hog is a concept at this point, that's all.. Ariad has plenty of time to ramp up sales before this "miracle" cure is delivered..
It's a phase I trial, and it's by Pfizer, so I don't put much faith in it... Pfizer has lost their way..
Now that Harvey has shown his poker hand in announcing no deal until Rida results, we slowly go down by one thousand cuts.. Takes the spectulative "want to own" right out of the stock..
Merk just spent $70 million for the rights to Rida. There is no way they are delaying or screwing around with the results of the Rida trial.
Merck has discussed the pipline on every quarterly cc that I've listen to in the past, but maybe this time it will be different..
FYI, Merck released their quarterly results today..haven't had time yet to see if there is any reference to Rida..
I feel more comfortable, science wise, knowing that Dr. Clackson and other members of his team have been slogging it through all their research with Harvey for over 16 years. One could conclude that he (Dr. Berger) is a very reasonable person to work for.. Sure glad they recently promoted Timothy.
BTH, please, no snide remarks!
How you all can defend Harvey Berger with what he says and what he does in his actions, boggles my mind.. Why you all stay so loyal in just unbelievable. He has said the same thing, and did the opposite for TWO of THEIR COMPOUNDS now. Ken Lay had a following all along as well.. I guess it's called the hope gene.. As for me, I'm ashamed to be an investor in this company.
I still think Harvey has the mad man complex.. He is doing the same thing as he did with Rida.. He still wants to build a standalone oncology company, now on the back of '534. Let's see if Mr. Market remembers and lets him get away with it..
1.7 million shares traded in the first 25 minutes.. That isn't the little guy bailing..
Well, it's went from 89 million shares in 2007 to 130 million shares after this secondary in 2010.. Most investment managers will steer clear with that kind of dilution. Is there such a thing as a serial diluter?? Is it a crime against current shareholders? Maybe not legally, but certianly emotionally.
News for 'ARIA' - (*DJ Ariad Sees Filing New Drug Application For Ponatinib In 2H12)
Harvey is up to his old tricks again.. His first CC on Ponatinib said that they expected the filing for the NDA would be in late 2012 or early 2013.. He is going backwards, where he will ultimately dissapoint.... imho
Harvey has got the PR machine all fired up this morning trying to protect the $3.70 price..
My uncle McGillacutty always told me to not believe everything you read on a message board.
Sure......
Still, it says volumes on Harvey's confidence in Ridaforolimus in the SUCCEED trial. Let's say he waited until results on Rida, and the results were positive..it would probably add $2 per share from where we were yesterday, and Harvey could have pocketed another $ 32 million. Which would add 5 months at their burn rate. They are burning through a tremendous amount of cash for their size and use..
But Don, this secondary will get Ariad to the middle of 2012, so they will have to partner, or dilute again then, BEFORE '534 scientific results..
I think it was slimy to announce the Rida results being moved out into Q1 2011, when just a few days ago, he said Q4 2010.. He had to know that..
Harvey might be a mad man based on this statement today:
"Importantly, the Company anticipates that this funding will allow ARIAD to retain the substantial potential commercial value of ponatinib in multiple lines of treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and other cancers by focusing its partnering strategy on a regional collaboration in select markets outside of the U.S. The Company does not intend to pursue a global partnership for ponatinib."
He hasn't learned his lesson. This is the stratagy he followed with Ridaforolimus. He will HAVE to do ANOTHER secondary in early 2012 to survive..
What do the results of the Succeed trial have anything to do with the '534 advancement? The company is funded through the middle of 2011..
You issue a secondary a few short months form the results of a phase III trial? What does that tell you? BTH, are you still OK with buying all those Ariad shares on Friday?
They can't build on the momentum because THIS IS THE PEAK for this cycle for this stock. This guy is screwing around with our capital. I'm surprised Harvey only had to have two underwriters for this secondary. I figured it would take at least six, because Harvey has lost all credibility with the street.. Just a few days ago he said the SUCCEED trial analysis would be available by the end of the year, now it's Q1 2011. I guess Harvey wanted to hedge his bets in case Rida fails.. Management at Merck will be wondering if their $70 million investment was prudent.. imho
They are now taking votes on the WORST Biotech Chairman in 2010.. Looks like we got one in the running again..
How in the world can they be burning through their money that quickly???
I agree.. I've seen Reuters make some serious journalistic mistakes over the years..
I think the smallish research houses will do Ariad justice over the next few months..
Ariad Research Reports will now becoming from every where, and they will be connecting all the mTOR dots, '534 dots and and the'113 dot.. Who knows, even Adam from The Street.com might even like the story.. FWIW, bought PIP three weeks ago..
Next, on to the phase III trial for endo..
I love Ariad's timing on this news...right before the bell.. Thank you Harvey!
