Mike Savage: Promises Broken
July 7, 2022
There are many people who are concerned about the trajectory of our economy and are expecting the price of goods to fall because of declining demand. In the past I would have likely agreed- but NOT today.
I believe that most people are taking the central banks at their word that they will continue to raise rates and start selling off assets rather than buying them. While rates have risen slightly the balance sheet of the Fed has GROWN $30 BILLION in the last 30 days. That is NOT shrinking but growing. I also believe that with stock “markets” having miraculous rallies at the end of down days, and BOJ, ECB and Fed all admitting to rigging the debt “markets” for lower interest rates, the numbers on the balance sheet we are NOT allowed to see is likely orders of magnitude higher.
There are others that believe our interest rates could rise to 20%- and they just may BUT the Fed would have to lose all control for that to take place. Many bring up Paul Volcker and his 18% interest rates as an example. The main reason I can’t buy that argument is that, at the time, the USA has a national debt of LESS than a trillion dollars. Debt to GDP was 30% while today it is more than 4X higher (admitted to) at 122%. The 122% is likely FAR understated.
In addition, cities, states, companies and individuals didn’t have ANYWHERE NEAR the amount of debt being carried today. Basically, raising rates to anywhere near where there would be a chance to tame inflation would wipe out most of the economy.
Basically, I believe-as I have stated many times, that the USA and indeed the entire developed world is now a banana republic where the only real solution (if you can call it that) is to try and inflate the debt away by “printing up” what is necessary to give the illusion that the country is still solvent and can pay its bills with what it produces. That has NOT been the case here in the USA for decades.
Just to give an example the year over year interest payments for the US government was just under $900 BILLION at the end of May. That is just interest- not ONE PENNY of debt reduction. As a matter of fact, our debt is GROWING exponentially.
The bottom line is that all we are seeing is an illusion and we are nearing a time when the truth will be exposed- that there is NO WAY mathematically that our (or the rest of the developed world for that matter) debts can EVER be repaid with our currency retaining almost any value at all.
TRANSLATION- The developed world NEEDS INFLATION to inflate their broken promises away.
For me, this means that those selling commodities- and in particular gold and silver will be greatly disappointed in the near future. Many people are asking me to time this and that cannot, in my opinion, be done. It is a rigged “market” like just about everything else. I will bring up, however, that Goldman Sachs has a $2500.00 price target for gold by the end of 2022. That may give us some idea of what others “in the know” believe.
Gold and silver miners have been slammed across the board despite being some of the most solvent and profitable companies on the planet. Again, anyone selling at this point is likely to be GREATLY disappointed going forward.
I believe that if you just look at the USA you see a country in total disarray and if that were all there was to it, I could buy the deflation story. The world is FAR larger than just the USA. We have entered into a paradigm where the world will be bidding for food, fuel, and finished goods at a time when supplies are tight, but “money” is loose all over the globe. In addition, the producers of such goods are getting tired of taking orders from those who create NOTHING of value but create chaos in the economy with their manipulations. In addition, those producing are realizing that they are doing the labor and those clicking a few digits on a computer are determining their fate.
This will likely lead to a major devaluation of fiat currencies and a major re-valuation of those currencies that have some type of physical backing or are produced by major commodity producers- like Canada, Australia, Norway, Russia, etc.
At the end of the day, I believe we are nearing the end of unbacked currencies and entering into a new paradigm where currencies backed by hard assets will be the currencies that will rise in value and get the goods that are being offered.
I don’t believe there could be a worse time for this to happen for us in the USA.
By definition, if this happens, everything that has tangible value will rise in price. I believe that the necessities of life may rise higher than we can imagine at this time. I also believe that there will likely will likely be deflation in goods that people WANT rather than NEED as the basic necessities will be taking up most of the earnings of average folks.
For anyone contemplating giving up and going to cash keep these few things in mind.
For FDIC insured banks
Money deposited is no longer your “money” but is an asset of the bank and a liability to you.
* There are bail-in rules in place so that in the next downturn the bank can turn your cash into stock of the bank- erasing their liability.
* With inflation at 15% real (8.9% admitted) you are losing purchasing power at a huge rate with the interest rates being miniscule.
* For other forms of cash
* Here in the USA and across the developed world all currencies are units of debt- not YOUR asset but an asset of the central bank.
* There are no guarantees of the value of that currency and there could be large fluctuations in price vs other currencies and hard goods.
* Basically, with the situation as it is, there in NO WAY to preserve your purchasing power with a fiat currency.
Paper assets can, and often do, go to ZERO. There is no rebound from ZERO.
Hard assets, while they can fluctuate greatly in price, they always have VALUE. If you retain VALUE, then the price can always come back.
Personally, I have no faith in the central banks, their “printing” or computer blips. I do have faith in hard assets, companies and countries that produce them and in those that are looking to end the domination of the few over the many. What is the value of a promise that cannot, or will not, be kept?
The world is changing right before our eyes.

Kunstler: Ignition… Lift-off!
By James Howard Kunstler

It looks like someone has called room service in a certain Swiss Fortress of Solitude and ordered der Schwabenklaus’s ass to be handed to him on a platter with a side of sauerkraut. The assisted suicide of Western Civ, Euro division, has been interrupted by peasant uprisings, first in the Netherlands, now spreading to Germany, Italy, and Poland. The farmers are on the march. They are coming for you, Klaus, and your World Economic Forum’s legion of implanted government goblins.
The governments of virtually all the nations of Western Civ have become enemies of their people. It’s been obvious in the USA for quite some time, but our preposterous attempt to turn Ukraine into a forward NATO missile base next door to Russia finally revealed the villainous rot in Euroland, too. Cut yourselves off, Germany, from Russian oil and natural gas? Whose bright idea was that? (Hint: Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who else? He supposedly runs that joint, doesn’t he?) Plan B, you Deutsches Volk now realize, is to burn your furniture to stay warm at Christmas.
America’s gambit to goad Russia into a Ukrainian quagmire turned into such a mighty fail that the US news media doesn’t even report on the doings there anymore. Which are: the Russians sent in their junior varsity and systematically wiped up the floor with Ukraine’s 250,000-man, NATO-trained (ha!) army of neo-Nazis. That is not an empty pejorative, by the way. They really are explicitly true believers in old Adolf’s mid-20th century program of exterminating the Russ people next door. Mr. Putin wasn’t kidding around when he highlighted that feature of his operation.
So, now the heart of Euroland looks forward to a new era without energy and without modern industry, meaning what? Well, without modern life (maybe without life, period). Der Schwabenklaus outlined that pretty clearly, too, with the by-now shopworn slogan that “You vill own nussing and you vill be heppy.” It was such an absurd maxim that many who pretend to think took it as a sort of joke. And, let’s face it, Klaus really does appear to be a comic figure — the weirdo tunic he sometimes wears, the Hollywood B-movie accent. But not so many are laughing now as the lights go out from Galway Bay to the Gulf of Riga.
If not the sinister Schwabenklaus, then, who or what entity is behind this world-ending mischief remains a matter of baffling consternation? Quite a few people, otherwise not insane, say we’re in thrall to some hovering alien presence not-of-this-Earth somehow directing our own destruction. Personally, I find that a bit silly. The most persuasive real-world clues point to China’s Communist Party (the CCP). Where did the “Wuhan Flu” (Sars C-19) emanate from? (Trick question.) At whose 2019 Wuhan World Military Games did the first outbreak occur? (Ditto.) Whose policy model was adopted in the US and Euroland for dealing with that punk-ass virus with lockdowns? Which current President of the USA has been on the payroll of the CCP for nearly a decade via shady business deals grifted up by his son? Hmmmm.
This latter saga of R. Hunter Biden is so well-publicized in its grotesque details — smoking crack and cavorting with Russian whores on-camera — that it seems like just another Netflix series. But guess what? It’s really real. And so are all the deal memoranda and emails on Hunter’s laptop, which has been in the passive possession of the FBI for three years. And you mean to tell me that no one has done anything about it? How is Director Chris Wray still walking around a free man?
Meanwhile, the very people who helped engineer the Wuhan Sars C-19 virus — and the mRNA “vaccines” now proving way deadlier than the virus — are still in the employ of our government: Anthony Fauci and former NIH Director Francis Collins (currently “Joe Biden’s” chief science advisor in the White House at $300+K-a-year). The effrontery! Notice, too, that, having winkled the Pentagon into “vaccinating” all our troops (including our military women-with-penises and men-with-vaginas), we now have an army programmed to drop dead on any battlefield they find themselves at without an enemy firing a shot. How do we even propose to defend North America if, say, China took a notion to seize our land by main force?
These quandaries and conundrums form a toxic cloud of cognitive dissonance blanketing America like a cosmic miasma of wickedness. We have got to turn the tables on these ghouls running things.
This week, a serious rebellion has sparked off in Europe. The Dutch government moved to seize the land belonging to about a third of its farmers, supposedly to cut nitrogen-oxide emissions so as to satisfy WEF-inspired EU 2030 climate goals. There is more horseshit in the government’s policy pretexts than there is on the farms of Holland, so the farmers have formed a tractor army of rebellion, blocked highways and border crossings, and mixed it up physically with the police. As I said at the beginning, the revolt against official climate change psychosis is spreading quickly to other European countries.
Perhaps the non-elites of Europe have realized that they were played for chumps. (They were.) They went along with the “vaccine” mandates only to learn now that their countrymen are dropping dead at suspiciously alarming rates, and maybe it has something to do with those shots they lined up for so obediently. And they can see the vast loss of jobs and income ahead as their industries have to shut down for lack of fuel. And they can see how their governments seek to starve them and force them to freeze to death a few months from now. So, it’s game on and governments are about to fall across Europe, and God knows what kind of strife will erupt out of that. BoJo is going in the UK… Holland’s PM Mark Rutte may be next… Olaf Scholz after him… and Mario Dragi in Italy. Look out below.
As of this writing Friday morning, we have no idea what the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe might signify — except, perhaps, the ominous beginning of a global trend.

Great Reset Will Be the Great Reject – David Morgan
By Greg Hunter
On July 5, 2022
Economic analyst and financial writer David Morgan predicted in early March, “When you get gasoline going up to the $5, $6, $7 range and you’ve got food going up to the level it’s gone up to and continues to go up to, it’s going to be bad.” Morgan was right, and he says this destabilization of the middle-class is all part of the so-called “Great Reset” by the global elite. Morgan says this is not going to turn out like the globalists want. Morgan says, “This is not about money–it’s about control. They want absolute control.”
What can people do to make the “Great Reset” not work? Morgan says, “It’s the ‘Great Reject.’ You do not participate in the ‘Great Reset.’ You stay out of the system to the best of your ability, which means you use cash like Catherine Austin Fitts talks about. You can trade in silver and gold. Some states allow you to do that, and more are coming on all the time, putting into law the ability to transact in gold and silver in that state . . . to be able to use gold and silver again. Mitigate your food situation by growing some of your own. . . . Get friendly with farmers. There are a lot of things you can do that are pretty simple. There a lot of things you can do that put you in control. They want this . . . but it’s not going to happen. What they want is the ‘New World Order,’ or globalism. What they are really going to get is the opposite. . . . You are going to see a disintegration of that kind of power base and get more local. As the situation gets worse and worse, the smaller communities will get together and say what can we do to survive? So, they are basically going to get the opposite of what they want.”
Morgan talks about the deflationary nature of all these CV19 injections. He also talks about why silver and gold work best in deflationary environments. Morgan tells you the importance of having cash and predicts extreme inflation and deflation coming at the same time, which is the definition of stagflation last seen in the 1970’s. This time, Morgan says it will be far worse and predicts, “The next ‘Great Depression’ will make the last ‘Great Depression’ look like a small technical correction. . . . . The worse you inflate or destroy the value of a currency, the worse the repercussions are. . . . Not only are Social Security and pension plans going to collapse, but it is the system at large. It is going to be pervasive; it will touch almost every person.”
In closing, Morgan says, “We are fighting evil people, but are we fighting more than evil people at the top? . . . We are fighting principalities and powers of evil.”

The Calamity Janes
By Rick Fuentes
July 5, 2022
Note: There are active links contained within the original article at the website linked below
June 24, 2022 was a momentous day for both life and democracy. The SCOTUS decision in Dobbs, hardly a cliffhanger by standards of the Roberts court, sent the issue of abortion back to the states where it belonged and put the endemic malevolence and selective outrage of the Democrat party on full display. Before that anticipated decision, Democrats were already circling the wagons, huddling into a troop of see-no-evil monkeys and averting the glare of political violence in plain sight.
Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, who have issued an ideological fatwa against MAGA voters using the January 6th Commission, pushed the pause button long enough to promote insurrection against a branch of government. They did so despite understanding that inflammatory rants over the Dobbs decision could spur weak-minded individuals such as Nicholas Roske to action. The House Speaker could hardly restrain her arm and hand spasticity as she swatted off annoying questions about kidnap and assassination plots against conservative justices and the flurry of pregnancy center and church fire bombings. Pelosi realizes that the fuse is burning down to November and, with a series of high court setbacks over guns, abortion, voting rights, and freedom of speech and religion, the train is coming off the rails, along with much of the progressive agenda.
Even more frustrating to both majority leaders is that the Dobbs ruling is not giving the Dems the expected bounce. Vile comments and disrespect of the party elite toward the Court and justices, rhetoric that has gaslit street actions in blue cities still rebuilding their communities after the peaceful protests of 2020, have exacted little reaction from the voters-at-large. Democrats have yet to understand that inciting violence as a gambit to achieve one’s political goals is a loss leader for a party that claims to champion the lower and middle class while offering them little more than rioting, crime, inflation, and scarcity of basic needs.
Republicans, by and large, take out their grievances at the ballot box, while Democrats rely upon intimidation and violence. To make their point after Dobbs, Democrats have once again unleashed their paramilitary wing of shock troops, ending the truce brought about by the installation of the 46th resident of the Oval Office and their dreams of upending fair elections, disarming the most well-armed populace in the free world, and breaking the back of the middle class before they awoke from the pandemic.
Leading the charge is a group of dilletante firebugs and graffiti artists called Jane’s Revenge, a nom de guerre commemorating Jane Roe, actually the alias of Norma McCorvey, the original plaintiff who in 1969 sought an abortion in pro-life Texas. McCorvey was also the inspiration for Chicago’s Jane Collective that aborted 11,000 babies in violation of the law in the early seventies. Many Americans don’t know that twenty years after Roe v. Wade, McCorvey turned her back on her comrades in the movement and lived out her days as a staunch Catholic and pro-lifer.
The reprobates of Jane’s Revenge are a pop-up group of pro-abortion extremists that hurl Molotov cocktails, smash windows, and spray paint the walls of pregnancy centers, religious institutions, and holy statues in the dead of night. It is a geographically-dispersed alliance of mostly black bloc feminists in league with Antifa and egged on by the hacktivist group, Anonymous.
The group called for a Night of Rage -- a pro-abortion Kristallnacht -- on the day of the Dobbs decision, taking a page from the Days of Rage in Chicago in 1969. A half-century apart, both events suffered the same fate at the hands of well-prepared law enforcement. Except for the usual urban locales, Portland and Seattle, where antifascists rule, the event was a non-starter and garnered little public attention.
At least forty suspected incidents of arson and vandalism are linked to Jane’s Revenge, sixteen of which have been attributed by online communiques of similar language and terms, suggesting at least some level of organizational sophistication and communication. The group recognizes that size matters to its survival, claiming the movement will be “unsustainable if it continues to rely on the same few hundred people.”
Is a more violent terror campaign in store for Jane’s Revenge? It seems probable, given a rising desperation that their incendiary antics against property will not bring back abortion as a phony federal right. Neither has it intimidated the justices. Beyond the fizzled Night of Rage, the muscled conservative majority on the Supreme Court has continued to issue several decisions devastating to the progressive agenda.
It is characteristic of protest movements that a lunatic fringe devolves into terrorism in furtherance of their cause. For Jane’s Revenge, history offers a road map to insurgency. In the sixties through the eighties, militant activism centered on the imperialism of America and its allies, coalescing around the hot button political issues du jour, such as the Vietnam War or corporate and military investments in Prime Minister P.W. Botha’s oppressive South Africa regime. Groups like the Weather Underground, Black Liberation Army, FALN, and United Freedom Front recognized the ineffectiveness of curbside antics and the futility of face-to-face police confrontations. Each group hardened into one or more small cells to carry out a subversive campaign of bombings, robberies, and assassinations.
Jane’s Revenge, Antifa, and co-eds protesting in colorful plumage are all in play for the summer of 2022. Whatever is to be accomplished on the progressive agenda cannot be trusted to the November voters and must rely upon slim congressional majorities and swing-state judicial and legislative activism to keep the sluice open to election shenanigans. As the midterms loom, the Left is also hoping that the drumbeat against Dobbs along with Trump-stopping subcommittees and investigations will divert Americans from the successive and intentional failures of the Biden administration’s domestic and international policies.
Workarounds for the Dobbs ruling are underway as the Biden administration searches for regulatory loopholes in the cabinet departments. HHS commissioner Xavier Becerra is plotting to subsidize transportation to abortion-friendly states and send out abortion pills like mail-in ballots. Congressional power brokers and blue-state governors are pushing Joe Biden to open abortion clinics on federal lands, such as national parks, in pro-life red states. All of this is in violation of the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal spending on abortions.
Other progressive have suggested a public emergency declaration, sidelining the legislative and judicial branches and ruling by executive fiat similar in policy and practice to the way the federal departments imposed COVID shutdown and vaccination mandates. Joe Biden is favoring a more heavy-handed approach, prompting Congress to set aside the filibuster rule and codify abortion rights into law.
We now know that it takes a political tempest to force Attorney General Merrick Garland to do his job in a manner beyond that of a figurehead who parrots the talking points of his political masters. In a series of letters signed by a plurality of congressional Republicans, Garland was put on notice to either investigate Jane’s Revenge or resign in shame for nonfeasance of duty. The following day brought word that the FBI had finally stepped up to open a domestic terror investigation, leaving one to wonder that if the House and Senate minority had not turned down the screws on the DoJ, would crickets still be the only chorus coming from the J. Edgar Hoover Building?
In the months ahead, Jane’s Revenge will serve as combative tip of the progressive spear. In support, the Left is constructing a veneer, branding pregnancy centers as fake clinics, greenlighting fire bombings by silence, and concocting alibis to downplay the violence. Ethical terrorism is put forth as one pretext; namely, hissy fits against property that does not take lives but advances preferred narratives, goals, and agendas.

Prepare for War, Higher Energy Prices & Significant Civil Unrest -Martin Armstrong
By Greg Hunter
On July 2, 2022
Legendary financial and geopolitical cycle analyst Martin Armstrong says, “If my computer had legs, it would hide under my bed.” That’s how bad things are looking for the rest of 2022 and 2023, according to Armstrong’s “Socrates” program that foresees future geopolitical and economic trends and events. Let’s start with war that is already underway with Russia. Armstrong says, “They wanted war. It’s all been provoked, and it’s intentional. . .”
Armstrong points out, “Ukraine President Zelensky already has hundreds of millions of dollars stashed off-shore. He’s been offered a golden parachute, and he’s willing to fight until the last Ukrainian dies on the battlefield. This is nothing more than a proxy war between the United States and Russia, and they know that. Russia knows Ukraine is not the enemy. It is the United States.”
How close are we to all-out war with the U.S. directly involved against Russia? Armstrong says, “I can tell you I have a friend whose brother is in the U.S. military here, and they have already been told to prepare for war. The U.S. is shipping more troops over to Europe. They are not shipping troops to Ukraine, but to NATO countries. They want war.”
So, are higher energy prices coming? Armstrong says, “They need to get gas prices to $10 a gallon so people will drive less, and that way they can get their electric cars. This is the insanity of what is going on in Washington.”
One rumor that Armstrong is hearing from his Washington D.C. sources is talk about granting citizenship to illegal aliens flooding across the southern border with a Presidential Executive Order shortly before the mid-term election in November. That would allow illegals to vote, and that sort of outright cheating could touch off violence. Armstrong says, “I am concerned if they pull that and they grant all these people citizenship. He’s been flying them in and dropping them off in the middle of the night, why are they doing that? It is to change the election. . . . I am concerned you would be talking about civil unrest going into 2023 that is going to be significant. You have already divided the country between blue and red to begin with. They have misrepresented the abortion thing. Now, with the aliens, how much more are we going to take of this?”
Armstrong talks about the dumbest world leaders he has ever seen. He also talks about Soros and defund the police. Armstrong tells us the importance of silver and cash if there is a total break down on the financial system, the disease cycle that started in 2022 and the decline of the global population that will keep falling until 2040.
In closing, Armstrong says, “The higher the gasoline prices, the greater the economic stress and not just in the U.S and EU, I am talking everywhere. This is why they need war. They need the great distraction, and that is manufacturing World War III.”
There is much more in the 1-hour and 7-minute interview.

The most closely watched of all economic indicators, the employment situation is a set of monthly labor market indicators based on two separate reports: the establishment survey which tracks 650,000 worksites and offers the nonfarm payroll and average hourly earnings headlines and the household survey which interviews 60,000 households and generates the unemployment rate.
Nonfarm payrolls track the number of part-time and full-time employees in both business and government. Average hourly earnings track employee pay while the average workweek, also part of the establishment survey, tracks the number of hours worked. The report's private payroll measure excludes government workers.
The unemployment rate measures the number of unemployed as a percentage of the labor force. In order to be counted as unemployed, one must be actively looking for work. Other commonly known data from the household survey include the labor supply and discouraged workers.

Be Prepared!

Joe Biden's open border is now the world's 'deadliest' land crossing
By Monica Showalter
July 5, 2022
When you think of the world's "deadliest land crossing," what springs to mind?
Perhaps the Stalag-like border around North Korea? The jungly narcoguerrilla-infested Colombia-Venezuela border? Perhaps the swampy predator-infested Colombia-Panama Darien Gap? Maybe the Israel-Gaza line? Some nightmare crossing full of child soldiers around the Central African Republic? The Afghanistan-Pakistan land crossing? There are a lot of hellholes out there that make good candidates.
But according to a United Nations agency, looking at the objective numbers, the honor goes to Joe Biden and his open border -- now the world's deadliest land crossing.
According to the Epoch Times:
The U.S.-Mexico border has become the world’s “deadliest” land crossing, according to data recently brought to light by a United Nations study.
A historic high of 728 recorded immigrant deaths and disappearances along the U.S.-Mexico border crossing in 2021 has made the land crossing the deadliest in the world, according to the study conducted by the United Nations agency, the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
These deaths accounted for the majority of the 1,238 immigrant deaths in the Americas in 2021, the IOM said in a press release on July 1, adding that these numbers should be considered an “undercount” due to difficulties in collecting data.
The study attributed the deaths and disappearance of immigrants in the Americas to a “lack of options for safe and regular mobility,” saying that this would drive migrants, presumably those choosing to enter as illegal aliens, to pursue riskier dangerous pathways to their destinations.
The agency also noted how the dangers faced by migrants are highlighted by recent news about what amounted to the deadliest known smuggling incident in American history: the discovery of 53 bodies in a tractor-trailer packed with 67 illegal immigrants in San Antonio on June 27. https://bit.ly/3uqkhnE
That's quite an achievement, Joe, besting North Korea and all. What a "historic first" as Joe likes to say. What feather in Joe's cap.
The U.N. has a lot of garble about what is causing this, citing the "lack of options for safe and regular mobility" as if all would-be migrants -- all 158 million of them worldwide -- are utterly entitled to U.S. residency, jobs, and citizenship on demand.
The hard fact though, is that it's not gun towers or guerrillas who make a border dangerous -- it's the absence of any state control at all.
Biden may think he's doing migrants a favor by leaving the border open and encouraging 3.2 million illegal migrants to abuse the asylum system by entering illegally, incentivizing illegal immigration at every turn.
But the hard fact is, leaving the border unlocked doesn't create a free and open border, it creates a power void.
That power void, like all voids, has been filled by the world's foulest criminal gangs, Mexico's utterly inhuman cartels and human smuggling rackets, the monsters who hang bodies from bridges and leave bags of human heads in schoolyards.
That's who controls the border since Joe Biden won't. Joe won't build a fence, so the cartels have been doing it for him. That's always what happens, and it's as natural as sunrise.
The high migrant death count gives the IOM perfectly good grounds for making its claim of 'world's deadliest land border.'
The cause of though 732 deaths, though, is not state or natural power -- guards shooting at illegal entrants, or wild animals attacking people -- as happens elsewhere, but smuggling cartels taking advantage of Joe Biden's open borders -- leaving their charges to die in the harsh Southwestern desert, dumping them to injury or death over the unimproved border wall, shooting the non-payers, engaging in high speed car chases that lead to deaths, or just leaving the migrants in a sweltering truck to die, as happened in San Antonio.
Seems that that is even more deadly than all of the North Korean border guards and man-eating jaguars and crocodiles of the Darien Gap.
The U.N. wants the U.S. to create an even more open border by handing out visas and work permits to all comers which is pretty much what is going on now with the Biden-encouraged abuse of the asylum system.
It makes about as much sense as Joe Biden's "spend harder" solution to inflation. That "solution" will only increase the death count, because it doesn't address where the deaths are coming from. They aren't coming from the state, but from the cartels, which will simply get hungrier for more profit and find more willing dupes among the lower middle classes of many countries (the dirt poor can't afford to emigrate), who will end up dead. Open-er border, more deaths. The cartels, as always, get a free pass -- they don't even exist in the eyes of the United Nations, which is busy handing out free money to encourage illegal immigration from some other agencies, or Joe Biden, who views the chief obstacle to open immigration as Trump supporters, not criminal gangs.
Only securing the border is what will stop the deaths.
Take a bow, Joe. Running the world's most dangerous land crossing is your legacy.

The Calamity Janes

Level 32,517 actual vs 20,712 prior
Definition
This monthly report counts and categorizes announcements of corporate layoffs based on mass layoff data from state departments of labor. The job-cut report must be analyzed with caution. It doesn't distinguish between layoffs scheduled for the short-term or the long term, or whether job cuts are handled through attrition or actual layoffs. Also, the job-cut report does not include jobs eliminated in small batches over a longer time period. Unlike most economic data, this series is not adjusted for seasonal variation.
8:15a ADP Jobs Report
Delayed at source
8:30a Initial Jobless Claims
Initial Claims - Level 235K actual vs 231K prior
Initial Claims - Change 4K actual vs -2K prior
4-Week Moving Average 232.5K actual vs 231.75K prior
Consensus Outlook
Jobless claims for the July 2 week are expected to come in at 230,000 versus 231,000 in the prior week.
Definition
New unemployment claims are compiled weekly to show the number of individuals who filed for unemployment insurance for the first time. An increasing (decreasing) trend suggests a deteriorating (improving) labor market. The four-week moving average of new claims smooths out weekly volatility.
8:30a Goods and Services Trade
Balance $-85.5B actual vs $-86.7B (rev) prior
Consensus Outlook
A deficit of $85.2 billion is expected in May for total goods and services trade which would compare with an $87.1 billion deficit in April. Advance data on the goods side of May's report showed a narrowing of $2.4 billion in the deficit.
Definition
International trade is composed of merchandise (tangible goods) and services. It is available nationally by export, import and trade balance. Merchandise trade is available by export, import and trade balance for six principal end-use commodity categories and for more than one hundred principal Standard International Trade Classification (SITC) system commodity groupings. Data are also available for 48 countries and 7 geographic regions. Detailed information is reported on oil and motor vehicle imports. Services trade is available by export, import and trade balance for seven principal end-use categories.

There is a lot more in the 41-minute interview.

9:45a PMI Composite Final
Composite Index 52.3 actual vs 53.6 prior
Services Index 52.7 actual vs 53.4 prior
Consensus Outlook
The final services PMI for June is expected to hold at the 51.6 flash which would compare with May's final 53.4.
Definition
US Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) is based on monthly questionnaire surveys collected from over 400 U.S. companies which provide a leading indication of what is happening in the private sector services economy. It is seasonally adjusted and is calculated from seven components, including New Business, Employment and Business Expectations.
10:00a ISM Service Index
Index 55.3 actual vs 55.9 prior
Consensus Outlook
At 55.9 in May, the ISM services index slowed to the lowest reading in more than a year. No rebound is expected for June where the consensus is a further dip to 54.8.
Definition
The Institute for Supply Management surveys more than 375 service-providing firms from 16 industries (construction and mining are included). The services composite index has four equally weighted components: business activity (closely related to a production index), new orders, employment, and supplier deliveries (also known as vendor performance). The first three components are seasonally adjusted but the supplier deliveries index does not have statistically significant seasonality and is not adjusted. For the composite index, a reading above 50 percent indicates that the services economy is generally expanding; below 50 percent indicates that it is generally declining. The supplier deliveries component index requires extra explanation: a reading above 50 percent indicates slower deliveries and below 50 percent indicates faster deliveries.
10:00a Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey
Job Openings 11.254M actual vs 11.681M (rev) prior
Consensus Outlook
Having exceeded expectations the prior four reports, job openings, at 11.400 million in April, hit Econoday's consensus on the nose. May's expectations are a slight dip to 11.250 million.
Definition
The Labor Department's JOLTS report tracks monthly change in job openings and offers rates on hiring and quits. The reporting period lags other employment data including the employment situation report. The word JOLTS stands for Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey.

Florida County on High Alert After Giant African Land Snail Emerges
By Paul Bois
4 Jul 2022
A county in Florida has gone on high alert after a giant African land snail has emerged half a century after it was thought the species was eradicated in the state.
The giant land snails were found in the New Port Richey area of Pasco County on June 23. According to a statement from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), the giant African snail is devastating to Florida’s agriculture and “consumes at least 500 different types of plants,” making it “one of the most damaging snails in the world.”
“These snails could be devastating to Florida agriculture and natural areas as they cause extensive damage to tropical and subtropical environments,” FDACS said.
“The snails also pose a serious health risk to humans by carrying the parasite rat lungworm, known to cause meningitis in humans.”

Though the snails are illegal to import or possess in the United States without a permit, the snail has been eradicated twice in the state of Florida. The population is difficult to control due to the snail’s fast reproductive rate, producing up to 2,500 eggs per year.
“The first detection was in 1969 and was eradicated in 1975. The most recent eradication of this pest was in 2021 from a detection in 2011 in Miami-Dade County. Prior to the recent detection, the last live snail in Florida was collected in Miami-Dade County in December of 2017,” the FDACS said.
According to News 4 Jax, a quarantine was issued on June 25 that “prevents residents from moving the snail or related items, like plants and soil, in or out of the designated quarantine area.”
“Last week, FDACS’s Division of Plant Industry started to survey the area, enacted a quarantine and will begin treatment for the detrimental pest,” the outlet reported. “FDACS said it will treat properties with a metaldehyde-based molluscicide (snail bait). FDACS said it plans to spend three years eradicating the population in Pasco County.” (which is the county immediately North of Pinellas County, where I reside.)

Kunstler: A Great Endeavor
By James Howard Kunstler

Lil Miss Hot Mess, author and performer
I wish I had a time machine. I would teleport a small delegation of Ben Franklin, Tom Jefferson, and Button Gwinnett from their sweltering labors at Independence Hall — then known as the Pennsylvania state house — to a Drag Queen Story Hour hosted by Lil Miss Hot Mess (“The People’s Drag Queen”) reading from her best-selling book, The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish, to a roomful of six-year-old offspring birthed by America’s current Progressive ruling elite. Here, I would explain, is what it has come to.
Have today’s elites in our country, marinated in social justice and frantically signaling their goodness-and-virtue, gone perhaps a tad too far in their quest to liberate the populace from boundaries previously established for human behavior? It’s one thing, you know, to throw off the onerous yoke of a British King and his agents, with their vexing taxes, despotic harassments, abuses and usurpations. It’s perhaps another thing “empowering” children to bethink themselves monomaniacs of sexual confusion, years before they’re mentally equipped to devine the conundrums of sex. What, after all, is a “hot mess?”
Well, Google’s top search answer, from the Oxford Languages website, defines “hot mess” thusly: a person or thing that is spectacularly unsuccessful or disordered, especially one that is a source of peculiar fascination. Okay, I see: this metaphor signifies what the ruling elites would like our nation to become! And, more generally, western civ — that agglomeration of fusty creeds, shopworn traditions, oppressive laws, dubious virtues, and racist arts. Mission accomplished, then!
On July 4, 2022, America is a hot mess, but exactly! Are we not now spectacularly unsuccessful and disordered — in body, mind, polity, culture, mores, convictions, and aspirations? What is functioning in America these days? Absolutely nuthin’, ugh, say it again, to quote a song lyric of my bygone youth, when our project in Vietnam had gone off the rails. Of course, that was then and this is now. Back then, say 1970, we were the exuberant avatar of Modernity and the rest of the world was still a little groggy from World War Two. In that America, a man could easily support a family, we never gave a thought to our oil supply, and the doctor would see you now.
This birthday of the republic we are on track to going medieval, or something that at least rhymes with it. I’m regretful as anyone to leave so much baggage behind, but frankly it’s been a long time since all the Fun, Fun, Fun was over and Daddy took the T-bird away. Daddy himself is gone, along with all representations of him. Donald Trump tried to play the role in a movie called The Years before Covid-19 but the critics savaged him. Anyone who dares to try to be Daddy in America now will be Me-tooed and J-Sixed to a fare-the-well, we’ve been warned. In your New World Order of Bill Gates and the Schwabenklaus’s Great Re-set, we are all expected to be a hot mess (so the exterminations can proceed without resistance).
I, for one, refuse to comply with all that insolent wickedness and urge you to join with me in making something decent, honorable, and workable in the vast salvage yard that America will be when we expel the degenerate maniacs who broke it to pieces. You do not have to be a hot mess. You can, for instance, be a man. Or, another instance, be a woman. These binaries of human reproduction can produce new humans. A man, a woman, and children will comprise a family, a good start in rebuilding the organism called a society.
The chief duty of men and women in this future will be doing everything possible to ensure that their children do not become hot messes. Their duties beyond that entail the search for purpose, meaning, and happiness, and building institutions to support those ends. We can start with the language we use amongst ourselves to make sense of who we are and where we are. Our language must have a rigorous correlation with reality, which makes it possible to determine what things are true and what are not true. The time will soon be at hand when it is possible to tell who is speaking the truth and who is not. A battle may ensue over this and those on the side of the truth will prevail. Consider these propositions as you flip your burgers and hoist your malty brews today. Think of the men who gathered at Independence Hall two hundred and forty-six year ago and the trepidation they felt facing the unknown as they signed their names, pledged their fortunes, and committed their sacred honor to a great endeavor.
