I agree, Batman Begins was an awesome movie, one of the few movies I actually own on dvd.
I gotta disagree about the Pirates movies though, I actually liked all of them (albeit a little less each movie) but they were pretty entertaining if nothing else. I didn't like the 3rd one the first time either, so I watched it again and I got a better idea of what was going on.
While on the subject of great movies, I watched "Heat" the other day, what a classic that movie is. You gotta love Pacino, Deniro, Kilmer, Sizemore, Judd and of course Pedro Cerano from Major League all rolled into one movie!

OK, now I am even more confused. Wisconsin combat sports is now saying that the 9 episodes of GI's vs Pro's is going to be taped over the TWO GI vs Pro events (the 4/19 and the 5/24 events). This site has been the most accurate IMO, since this whole FSN thing started so I am inclined to think this might be the case. However, this totally contradicts the Facebook ad and a few other sites that said we will visit 9 cities or have 9 different events. As much as I hope this article is wrong, it does seem to make the most sense. 9 events in the next 4 months does not seem possible for this company yet.
Any thoughts on this? If anyone has any contact with CJ maybe we can get clarification on the number of events since we have now heard anywhere from 2 to 9.
http://www.wicombatsports.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=282&Itemid=1
As you may remember, I posted an article in February stating that Wisconsin fighter, Nick Agallar would fight Dan Lauzon in the Art of War show this weekend called “Pros vs. G.I.s”. Long story short, Dan Lauzon had to pull out of the fight due to an injury. Nuri Shakir replaced Dan Lauzon and the fight was set to go until Nick Agallar pulled out of the bout with an undisclosed minor injury. Such is the fight world. Agallar will now fight Chris Brennan in the finale of the show on May 24th, in Winstar, Oklahoma.
Nick Agallar will still serve as a coach or captain in the show this weekend for the G.I. Team. Agallar spent 16 months in Iraq in late 2003 to early 2005. Madison’s Ron Faircloth will headline this weekend’s show against Damien Stelly in Tunica, Mississippi. The two events in Mississippi and Oklahoma will be cut into a nine episode television series that will debut nationally on Fox Sports Net on July 19th. Nick Agallar’s bout vs. Chris Brennan will air on the finale of the show on September 13th. I have attached a schedule of the TV series according to Art of War:
"GI vs. Pro" Fox Sports Net telecast schedule
Sat. July 19 GI vs. Pro - I 12:00 Midnight
Sat. July 26 GI vs. Pro - II 12:00 Midnight
Sat. Aug. 2 GI vs. Pro - III 12:00 Midnight
Sat. Aug. 9 GI vs. Pro - IV 12:00 Midnight
Sat. Aug. 16 GI vs. Pro - V 12:00 Midnight
Sat. Aug. 23 GI vs. Pro - VI 12:00 Midnight
Sat. Aug. 30 GI vs. Pro - VII 12:00 Midnight
Sat. Sept. 6 GI vs. Pro - VIII 12:00 Midnight
Sat. Sept. 13 GI vs. Pro - FINALS 12:00 Midnight
Nick Agallar last fought Luke Nichols at Freestyle Combat Challenge 33 in February in Kenosha. Agallar won via submission due to strikes in less than a minute into the bout. Nick Agallar sports a (20-5) record according to Sherdog and has won three straight fights and nine of his previous eleven. He has experience in many of the world’s largest organizations including BodogFight, UFC, WEC, and Hook ‘n Shoot.
Chris “The Westside Strangler” Brennan sports an MMA record of (19-12-1) according to Sherdog. He has been fighting since 1996 and holds wins over notable fighters such as Joe Stevenson and Thomas Denny. He has fought in many large organizations such as the UFC, King of the Cage, Shooto, Pride, and most recently Cage Rage, where he lost via TKO to Jean Silva in September.
Problems at Art of War/Sun Sports & Entertainment Group?
John Buckeye Epstein, former President of Sun Sports & Entertainment Group, which owns and operates the Art of War shows, was fired last month. According to Adam Swift of MMA Payout, he didn’t leave quietly and has filed a $25 million dollar lawsuit against the company. Here’s a quote from the article:
"I can't believe the audacity of Mr. Comu; the company had no funds, credit cards are shut off, vendors are calling every day, employees are owed more than forty thousand dollars in back expenses, and the medical bill reimbursements of past fighters like Justin Eilers and Pedro Rizzo were not being paid. All this while Comu takes a limo to the airport ten miles away," Epstein said.
Epstein may have a point as the company recently announced a financial overhaul that includes debt restructuring and the creation of new equity. Hopefully, the new deal with FSN will be enough to keep the company afloat and generate new fans through their new television series.
Another fighter on the 5/24 card revealed and a spnosor for a couple of the fighters.

The PR machine is up and running, hopefully we'll get alot more as the tour unfolds.
I know we've discussed before whether or not this will be 4, 5 or 9 events, but check out what Facebook says about the tour (we were listed there 4/7)
The series will be like no other before it and will take place in 9 cities across the US.
This leads me to believe we are going to have 9 events which is very good news! I hope a few of those 9 cities include a stops in Nevada. Reno and LAS VEGAS come to mind!

What's happening bro, I followed you over here from you know where, is now a good time to jump in this one?
I know absolutely nothing about this company but I see you guys got some news and I have a few dollars laying around!!!
This is an excerpt from Buckeye's PR, and I wondered if anyone here knows who exactly sits on SUN's board of director's currently? Maybe this is someting we can find out if anyone has contact with CJ.
"The suit alleges that Titan Securities was improperly involved in a huge conflict of interest, controlling the Board of Directors and the expenditure of funds, all without disclosures to the public"
Dave, glad to see you posting, I thought maybe you were gone as well. That was a well thought out and classy post on your part, i know I will miss FJ around here too even though I didn't know him on a personal level as you did.
But as they say, the show must go on, so we look to the future of this company as bleak or bright as it may be! Laraz5 and chucka, thanks for stepping up to moderate!
Here's an interesting opinion from a 3rd party, so to speak, for what its worth.
http://fightlinker.com/blog/?p=2023
That whole SUN Sports GI vs Pros thing has just gotten a lot more interesting, with a former SUN Sports president releasing his own press release saying that SUN Sports is practically broke and owes tens of thousands of dollars to all sorts of people:
Epstein added, “This is not a disgruntled employee case like most people assume when they hear an unhappy executive leave a company”. Under Epstein’s sports marketing direction, within a year Art of War was recognized as possibly the number two contender in producing Mixed Martial Arts events. “This is about an employee trying to fight for honest and ethical treatment of shareholders, vendors, fighters and employees who was thrown out of the company for his trouble. The problems at SUN are far-reaching. Just last week Mr. Comu signed for a nine-show tour (a start date of April 19th) with George Greenberg (Fox Sports Net’s Executive Vice President, Programming & Production) with virtually nothing in the bank.”
I was kinda interested to know how SUN Sports was gonna bankroll their new series of shows, but once I realized the US Army was involved I just figured they were paying for a massive chunk of the event costs plus the additional cost of producing the show on Fox Sports Net. Since it’s basically just one big recruitment show, ya know?
The allegations sure are interesting, but on the other hand how much stock can you take in a press release from a guy who thinks he made Art of War “possibly the number two contender in producing Mixed Martial Arts events”. Come on now. And the whole “This isn’t about me being pushed out, this is about getting money back for the fighters and vendors” thing … I’d say the fighters have a better chance of making money back if the company rallies from the brink of bankruptcy, rather than going under. So yeah … it does kinda seem like sour grapes from the outside.
No FSN logo, no friends, no list of fights for the 4/19 event? This makes no sense. Maybe they are still in the process of updating the site. Their myspace page was helping them attract fighters, it doesn't make any sense that it won't be updated furhter. Just one more thing to watch for now!
Regarding myspace...
A division of News Corporation (NYSE: NWS, NWS.A), Fox Interactive Media (FIM) is a portfolio of leading social networking, entertainment, sports and information sites that offer a platform and tools for consumers to express themselves, communicate with each other, and engage with media. The company's worldwide network includes such category leaders as MySpace, Photobucket, IGN, FOXSports.com, RottenTomatoes, AskMen, Flektor and more that together comprise one of the largest audiences on the Web.

I respect your decision FJ. Good luck to you and your investments!
This writer isn't too enthused about the tour, but the title of this article is what stuck out to me.

The US Army funds a recruitment show - er, MMA reality show
April 9, 2008 – 3:28 pm by fightlinker
Man, I’m such a fucking cynic. They announce another MMA ‘reality show’ on Fox Sports Net and instead of being excited I just think “Man, more fucking garbage MMA”. Am I jaded? Am I spoiled? Or is it because so far all this small fry MMA is about as fun to watch as kittens getting chop sueyed at a Mongolian restaurant.
Behold SUN Sports’ GI vs PRO show, which will feature … get ready for it! Army guys trained in MMA fighting average guys trained in MMA. This would be interesting if not for the fact that 85% of all regional shows in the states already feature armed service veterans fighting, sometimes against non-vets and sometimes against eachother. And that’s not so surprising considering the number of people the US has cycled through Iraq over the past two wars. And let’s not forget how lots of those people have issues now that can only be sorted through expensive therapy the army ain’t going to provide. But I guess the cage is a good place to let off some of that steam without ending up in jail.
But who knows, perhaps I’m just being a jaded asshole as usual. Perhaps there’ll be a fun twist and they’ll be pitting crafty Vietnam vets with jungle psychosis against unsuspecting MMA fighters. Now that’d be something I’d like to see … right up until the vet gouges out some dude’s eyes while screaming incoherently about someone named Charlie. But as it stands, this looks like one big infomercial for army recruitment.
Oh, as a side note, kudos to SUN Sports for surviving after HDNetFights cut their legs out from under them, stole away Guy Metzger, and took them off HDNet. I was pretty sure they were gonna go tits up after that but it looks like they’ve managed to think outside the box to stay alive.

The winner gets to keep the losers ears as a trophy around his neck. It does look like a recruiting tool but so was that Americas Army game and it turned out to be really good. I’ll be happy to see Tim Kennedy fight cause he is actually a good fighter.

Bad logo, thought at first glance it would be guys fighting in gi’s vs. guys fighting in traditional MMA gear.
This would be great if all the military guys lost, ruining the propaganda appeal. Honestly, though, I’ll give them my sure-fire idea for free. Go steal the TUF format with military soldiers “trained in MMA”, but make it so all the losers get an extra two years of military duty attached.
Then you’ll see some real fucking fights.

“I just think “Man, more fucking garbage MMA”. Am I jaded? Am I spoiled?”
A perfectly sane reaction in the age of Bodog, the IFL and [god help us all] Iron Ring.
UFC, EliteXC/Strikeforce, K1 and Dream are really the only orgs that have consistently put on good MMA TV. IMHO, of course. [And K1 and Dream, in Japan only, natch.]
on 09 Apr 2008 at 9:28 pm10jiujitsu365
The bad thing about this is that even though it is a recruitment tool, I am still going to watch it. Besides, I already served in the army so they won’t be influencing me. A couple of my family members have done 2 to 4 tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., so I don’t think the Army will influence them either…

I don’t know if you mentioned it, but they also have “Top Army Fighter” airing on the Military Channel (April 14-16th).

Thanks for sharing that man, its time to do some re-evaluation here. If any of that is true then we are in bad shape.

jhmfc,

This might help our cause. ESPN has a sherdog link on its site for GI v Pro. I know alot of people will see this.

I like the analogy, thanks Wally.
I have only played a few penny stocks and do not have a very good track record with them (that's bad news for all of you since I'm in this one) but show me another sub-penny pinky that has a contract in place with a MAJOR television netork and I'm buying the lotto ticket (to use your analogy).
I know its going to take time for this to all unfold and I think becoming a fully reporting company will also help. CJ stated in the one PR that was the plan, so maybe that will be our next major announcement to look out for.
I did not buy anymore today and am kicking myself for picking up more .009's the other day, i should have waited for the FSN news to take effect and grabbed some .007's today (such a sarcastic jackass I am).
It appears now as if the FSN news was already built in to the pps and some who were hoping to make a quick flip on the momo (that never came) have decided to get out even or slightly down. Either that or some longs who were hoping for more of a spike on the FSN news have decided to move on because lets face it, the FSN news didn't really do anything for us.
I have not sold 1 share of this stock and as I stated before will either ride it to triple 000's or a quarter, whichever comes first, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in the lack of pop we had from the FSN news and the fact that we're now back to .007.
My guess is that we're going to have to see audited financials and clarification on the A/S amount before we go anywhere but as I've proven already, I have no idea. What's your take, what gets this thing going?
I noticed that too, the bid did drop to .006 for a while today but was raised after a few buys at .008. There seemed to be a lot of buys at the ask today but those 2 big dumps killed us.
I watched all day today and saw some pretty big bail outs at the bid. One for 300,000 and one for 400,000 and a few other smaller ones.
This stock is like a continuous kick in the teeth.
haha, I can't throw any more of those bad boys out, they're going to be worth alot more once they are featured on FSN!
FJ, we just officially signed a 9 event agreement with FSN and you don't give us your opinion? I know you're probably busy, but as board mod and a man well respected in these parts I demand you give us your thoughts on the unfolding of SUN's future and yesterday's announcement!
I'm just messing FJ, but I would definately like to hear your thoughts on our deal with FSN!!!
Also, I was a little late on my prediction of 50 boardmarks and will guess that the increase has nothing to do with our FSN deal and everything to do with the pics of chicks in our I-box!!!!!!
I'm full of coffee and energy this morning and pumped as ever about the future of SUN. For those old enough to remember Hanibal, Face, BA Barakus and Murdock, let me just say "I love it when a plan comes together"

Fedor vs. Sylvia is on.
http://www.sherdog.com/news/news.asp?n_id=12220
Nice! I'm not sure now about the number of events, is it 9 events or 9 broadcasts of 4-5 events? Either way we will have a ton of exposure airing on FSN for over 2 months!
http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/ticker/article.aspx?Feed=MW&Date=20080408&ID=8450542&Symbol=SSPE
Just re-read the PR and this jumped out at me. We are going to have 9 events and each one of them is going to air on FSN starting 7/24 and ending 9/13.
That gives us roughly 5 months (half of April, May, June, July, August and the first part of September) to put on 9 shows. That almost 2 shows per month for the next 5 months.
So far we know of 2. There is alot going on right now, so hopefully CJ and the boys will keep us up to date. I hope a few of these events are held in Vegas myself, so lets just what happens.
Just emailed sherdog the link, I'll watch to see if it shows up.

The fact that we have 9 events lined up for 2008 is awesome news alone. Now add to that the fact that we will be airing on FOX SPORTS NET and people will start to take notice.
Hell, we only had 4 events all of last year.
9 Freaking events!!!!!
I just picked up a few at .009.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYEAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Did you read the whole blog? Faircloth is pretty funny!
I can't wait until we find out all of the details with what's going on with this tour. We know it's going to be on tv (not officially yet) and the exposure we will get is going to be nationwide! It's time for CJ to give us more details as the first event is only 2 weeks away.
I think Rizzo vs Sylvia would be a pretty good fight and a good thing for both organizations. Sylvia is still a pretty huge name in the mma world so he would draw viewers, so hopefully these 2 organizations can work something out this time.
Kenneth "The Black Ninja" is going to be fighting on the May 24th card. He left this message on Patrick Castillo's myspace page.

Ron Faircloth blog dated 3/24/08.
http://www.wicombatsports.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=252&Itemid=1
My name is Ron Faircloth and I am awesome. I'm smarter, faster, better looking, and I hit harder than most of the people that will read this. I get to write a blog and I'm not even sure what one is. I have better than 40 pro fights. I have been in every major organization in the states, not to mention most of the small ones too. I have been fighting for 8 years. I started out training under Dave Strasser. Anyone in Wisconsin who thinks that they fight and doesn't know Dave needs to get to Kenosha and meet the guy.....
When I started training it was Pat O'malley and I beating each other retarded and driving to Kenosha three nights a week to work with Dave and his guys. I was sweet, Ben Rothwell and I came up at the same time.
Mike Delaney was there and still to this day is one of the hardest guys I've ever known. It wasn't like now where there is a gym on every corner and fights that pay. I have payed 40 and 60 bucks to get into tournaments and fight 4 times a night. Where you had to take at least 2nd just to get gas money to get home.....
There was a time when it was a sport for the hard and only the hard.
Then I met up with Nick Thompson who would later become one of my closest friends and all time best and most dedicated training partners.
Not to mention go on to be ranked in the top 5 in the world.
A few years later we rehooked up with my friend and Jits coach Mark Plavcan. Then the Madison scene got some good people going. Demain Decorah, Mark Plavcan, Pat and Mike O'Malley, Kain Rizzo, Nick Klien, John Phelan, Troy, and a whole bunch of other people who I'm sure I'm forgetting.....
Right now I'm getting ready to fight my 2nd fight for the ART of WAR.
I'm headlining the Pro vs. Joe shoe at Harrahs in Tunica Misissippi.
It's gonna be aired on Fox tv on Juil 19th. I'm busy traing and looking for sponsers and trying to get to 185. Life as a fighter bites when you can't eat. I also have to leave with Jameel Massouh for his fight in Hardcore Fighting in Canada. I think we leave on Wednesday but I'm not sure yet.
I once had lunch with Red and Reese and I think Reese was giving me the hairy eyeball. Next time he and I eat together I'm sitting on the other side of the table so I can tell for sure. I ate a bigger hamburger than him so I'm sure he was mad about that. Who wouldn't be?
Another guy that can't eat a large burger is Demain.

Dear Ron,
You stated that when you started training, it was
you and Pat O'Malley beating each other retarded. If my memory
serves me correctly, you also spent a few of your early days
with Pat beating me retarded at some karate school and then
later in Pat's basement. You used to complain that you never won
any wrestling ribbons, and Dallas had a whole basement full of
them. You must've collected a few ribbons (and human skulls) by
now, right?

Matt I forgot about you, sorry. We had some great

As far as Jason Day
goes...He's a great guy, hard fighter. Doesn't hit very hard and
has active submissions. Not making any excuses but it was my
first cut to 185 and I came in to heavy. 21 lbs to cut in the
last 2 days. I gassed a little in the sencond round which lead
to me moving a bit slower than I sould have and I took a cut
over my right eye which ended the fight. I was winning right up
until the cut.
He throws wild punches and is not real tough
to take down. On his back he'll go after subs and doesn't mind
getting hit. Pin him to the cage and go to work.
I think Alan
takes it.....
