1000w microwave oven comes to mind.
give the the address and phone number of the very same store the card is from. That should give them something to figure out.
I know some do not like to shop with them for various reasons. But Walmart.com has many items not carried in the store. I've ordered some very expensive seats for my boat and they shipped quickly. I made a mistake on the first order and had the wrong color and just took it to the store for the return. I've also ordered a few other things and have never had a problem.
Site to store for shipping is free, but of course you will have to pay your state sales tax.
Got it, now I understand.
I'm confused with your response. I was referring to my previous post that when I was in my twenties, we sometimes used the paper towels for filters in the electric "Mr. Coffee (brand name)" coffee pot. Showing my age vs. you using a Purk. back in the day. You've been on this planet quite a few more years than I. LOL!
That was the days of "Mr. Coffee" for me.
used that method a few times back in my single twenties days. You can get a fair half pot of coffee out of yesterdays grounds.
The Democratic Majority Is Doomed
The entitlement mentality can't survive a weak economy.

Many argue the coalition that elected and re-elected Barack Obama represents a long-term shift in the electorate that will determine elections and public policies for generations. Some of commentators think conservatives have lost their relevance, and the Republicans are about to go the way of the Whigs.
It's an interesting theory, but of course it's wrong. Politics, like much in life, tends to move like a pendulum, shifting back and forth around equilibrium. While the liberal Democratic coalition is ascendant now, a few decades ago people were speaking about the decline of the Democrats. More recently, leftists took to calling themselves "progressives" to avoid what was seen as the pejorative term "liberal." And just over two years ago, the Democrats took a drubbing in the midterm elections. Today, with the real-time flow of unfiltered information via blogs, YouTube, Facebook, FB +1.94% Twitter, etc., and more Americans self-identifying as independents and able to shift their support rapidly to either party, lasting coalitions will be difficult to maintain.
But the primary reason today's liberal Democratic coalition will fade is because the very policies it pushes sow the seeds of its own destruction. The coalition can survive over time only by allocating slices of our nation's economic pie in a way that favors and placates its constituent members. But people, being human, will continually want larger slices of our economic resources, so continued success in placating those members, while at the same time adding the necessary new members, requires a continuing and ever-growing economy. A flat or shrinking economy will never generate the resources needed to feed the coalition.
Yet the White House and congressional Democrats are working to stifle economic growth. From their views on taxes and redistribution, to their policies on energy and regulation, liberal Democrats are standing in the way of the strong economy their coalition needs.
Instead of pushing policies that spur innovation and risk-taking, the left advances policies that discourage them. Instead of lower marginal tax rates and less complication in the federal tax code, we see higher rates and more complication. We see new taxes in ObamaCare and the partial expiration of the Bush cuts. California's new tax on millionaires brings the state rate to more than 13%, and the combined federal and state rate to almost 52%. The high rates are discouraging at least some wealthy taxpayers from staying in or moving to the state. As federal rates increase, such economic discouragement will be found across the nation.
Instead of policies that lead to the available and affordable energy supplies required for a growing economy, we see onerous new regulations on coal-fired electricity plants, foot-dragging in the permitting for oil and gas drilling, and a surprising lack of interest in the hydrofracturing process that has revolutionized the extraction of natural gas and worked to lower energy costs.
Instead of thinking of the government's role in the economy as one of providing the minimum rules for fairness, ensuring those rules are enforced, and then getting out of way, we see efforts to push federal bureaucrats—and their ever-expanding government programs, regulations and mandates—into more and more facets of the world in which we live and work.
The toll on the economy is real. According to a report by Sentier Research released last fall, inflation-adjusted median household income has fallen more since the end of the recession in mid-2009 (down by 4.8%) than it did during the actual recession (2.6%).
Without economic growth, other means are needed to mollify the coalition. So we see warnings of disaster if the left's policies are not pursued. We see over-the-top claims about the damage to be caused by having to cut federal spending in sequestration—by less than 2.5%. We see attempts to gin up phony wars against women and minorities. We see efforts to come up with even more groups that are labeled as "victims" in need of the federal government's help. The coalition is fueled by a growing sense of entitlement. But without robust economic growth, this very same sense of entitlement will drive the coalition's decline.
In the short term, the coalition can help delay this decline by picking the right standard-bearer in 2016. It is clear that at least some of the liberal Democratic coalition exists because of the historical nature of Barack Obama as the first black president. While a candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 would bring her own sense of history and excitement to the coalition, Joe Biden, while a nice guy, would not.
Ultimately, the coalition will collapse under its own weight. Such shifts take time, and conservatives and Republicans can, and should, do what they can to hasten the collapse. They need to advocate more effectively a set of policies that will reverse America's decline—and do a better job of explaining the benefits for individuals, families and businesses that come when we have lowered tax rates instead of increased them; the benefit of the independence that comes from a smaller federal government instead of a larger one; and the overall well-being and safety our nation enjoys when our economy is strong.
Caught part of a show about WWII. They were explaining Japans attack on China while they were in a state of disarray due to in fighting between factions within the county. Very interesting.
Romex is a brand name that has turned into a common term. I did some looking and cannot find shielded Romex type cabling. Price wise MC (metal clad)cable would probably be your best choice. Use metal connectors and boxes for the cable. ground all boxes via the ground wire and connect the ground back at the panel to the ground bar. Do not ground it anywhere else.
Low voltage cable is available with an aluminum shield and ground-drain wire, but is designed for instrumentation devices. typically 16g and smaller.

Six gun companies have announced plans to stop selling any of their products to any government agency in states that severely limit the rights of private gun ownership.
Disappointed with New York State lawmakers and other jurisdictions around the country who have passed strict gun control legislation, the companies—composed of firearm manufacturers, gunsmiths, and sporting goods retailers—have announced these policies in the past week.
Their various statements emphasize that such laws create a class of government employees with rights and and a class of citizens without rights. Thus, they refuse to aid the enforcement of such inequality.
The announcements read:
LaRue Tactical
Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tactical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies. In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.
Olympic Arms
Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee of such an entity - will no longer be served as customers.
In short, Olympic Arms will no longer be doing business with the State of New York or any governmental entity or employee of such governmental entity within the State of New York - henceforth and until such legislation is repealed, and an apology made to the good people of the State of New York and the American people.
Extreme Firepower Inc, LLC
The Federal Government and several states have enacted gun control laws that restrict the public from owning and possessing certain types of firearms. Law-enforcement agencies are typically exempt from these restrictions. EFI, LLC does not recognize law-enforcement exemptions to local, state, and federal gun control laws. If a product that we manufacture is not legal for a private citizen to own in a jurisdiction, we will not sell that product to a law-enforcement agency in that jurisdiction.
Templar Custom
We will not sell arms to agents of the state of New York that hold themselves to be "more equal" than their citizens.
As long as the legislators of New York think they have the power to limit the rights of their citizens, in defiance of the Constitution, we at Templar will not sell them firearms to enforce their edicts.
Templar Custom is announcing that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee will no longer be served as customers.
York Arms
Based on the recent legislation in New York, we are prohibited from selling rifles and receivers to residents of New York. We have chosen to extend that prohibition to all governmental agencies associated with or located within New York. As a result we have halted sales of rifles, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, machine guns, and silencers to New York governmental agencies.
Cheaper than Dirt
Recently, companies such as LaRue Tactical and Olympic Arms have announced that they will no longer sell prohibited items to government agencies and personnel in states that deny the right to own those items to civilians. It has been and will continue to be Cheaper Than Dirt’s policy to not to sell prohibited items to government agencies and/or agents in states, counties, cities, and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We support and encourage other companies that share in this policy.
Second Amendment activist groups Guns Save Life and Grass Roots North Carolina are currently urging big gun manufacturers Sig Sauer, Smith and Wesson, and Glock to halt their sales to government agencies within states that have clamped down on their residents' right to bear arms.

Sen. Steinberg - Proposals to Reduce Gun Violence
Law Enforcement, Mayors Join Senate Democrats in Proposals to Curb Gun Violence
February 07, 2013
(Sacramento) – Senate Democrats have unveiled ten legislative actions to curb gun violence in California designed to close loopholes in the existing regulations, keep the circulation of firearms and ammunition out of the hands of dangerous persons, and strengthen education relating to firearms and gun ownership.
The legislation would limit the proliferation of rapid-reload weapons, by banning rifles with detachable magazines and making all high-capacity magazines illegal to possess in California. The measures also will regulate the purchase of ammunition, strengthen efforts to keep guns out of the wrong hands, and require gun owners to be educated, trained and tested in the safe use of firearms.
“We respect the Second Amendment right of law abiding citizens to have guns for hunting, for sport, for protecting their homes and families. But loopholes in California’s tough gun laws have been exploited long enough,” said Senate President pro Tempore Darrell Steinberg. “We can save lives by curbing the proliferation of guns designed to be fired and reloaded rapidly. We can save lives by getting guns and ammunition out of the hands of the wrong people. We can save lives if every gun owner knows how to safely handle those guns. And if we can save lives, we must act to do so.”
Among those showing strong support for the proposed measures are Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, Richmond Police Chief Chris Magnus, Emeryville Police Chief Ken James, El Cerrito Police Chief Sylvia Moir, the Brady Campaign and other advocates for prevention of gun violence.
"This Senate package builds on California’s strong record and takes the next step with smart policies that close loopholes that have remained open for too long," said Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. "Other states, cites, and the federal government need to join us and do everything we can - as quickly as we can - to keep our communities safe."
“Violence does not know City borders and no single Mayor can stop gun violence alone. But if we work together – as a region, as a state and as a nation – we can make a real impact,” said San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. “Under the leadership of President Steinberg, the Senate has taken a comprehensive look at existing law, strengthening what’s there and addressing loopholes, while addressing the enforcement backlog so that we can reduce gun violence and make Californians safer. We must do everything we possibly can to prevent another tragedy.”
The ten legislative actions are contained in bills being authored by Senator Steinberg (D-Sacramento), Senator Marty Block (D-San Diego), Senator Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles), Senator and Chair of the Public Safety Committee Loni Hancock (D-Berkeley), Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara), Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco), and Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco).
Senate Democrats’ Ten Legislative Actions
REGULATION: Closing loopholes in existing laws
Fixed magazines (Steinberg): Prohibit the future sale, purchase, manufacture, importation, or transfer in California of semi-automatic rifles that can accept detachable magazines. This legislative action decisively closes the loopholes that have allowed the gun industry to flood our communities with rapid-reload battlefield weapons.
EXAMPLE: The featureless Mini-14 rifle, which contributed to the deaths of 69 people in the 2011 Norway massacre. This rapid-reloading firearm is currently legal in California.
High Capacity magazines (Hancock): Ban possession of large capacity ammunition magazines over 10 rounds. This legislative action decisively closes loopholes that have allowed the gun industry to enable the assembly and home-modification of 10-round magazines into larger capacity magazines.
EXAMPLE: In 2011, Jared Lee Loughner was able to fire 31 bullets in 15 seconds because he had supersized his Glock 19 handgun with a high-capacity magazine. In those 15 seconds, he shot 19 people, killing six, wounding 13 others.
Bullet button (Yee): This legislative action closes the loophole that has allowed the gun industry to flood our communities with modification tools to rapidly detach and replace magazines from semi-automatic rifles.
Shotgun Definition (Jackson): This legislative action updates the definition of a banned shotgun with a revolving cylinder to include the new technology of a shotgun-rifle combination.
EXAMPLE: The “circuit judge” with a rifled bore and revolving cylinder, capable of rapidly firing both 0.410 gauge shotgun shells and .45 caliber ammunition and has the same characteristics of the 1990s Street Sweeper.
CIRCULATION: Keeping weapons and ammunition in the hands of responsible gun owners
Requires Ownership Record of all Guns (Steinberg): Applies ownership records consistently across-the-board, ensuring all firearms are recorded, and ensuring that no firearms of any classification are legally accessible to prohibited persons or persons without a background check.
Ammunition Purchase Permit (de Leon): Expanding on what Los Angeles and Sacramento are already doing requiring anyone wishing to purchase ammunition in California to obtain a purchase permit first, by passing a full and complete background check.
Gun Loans (Block): This legislative action prevents unregulated gun loans, with exceptions, including hunting. To limit legal accessibility of weapons to prohibited persons or persons without a background check.
APPS Expansion (Leno): This legislative action prohibits individuals on APPS from residing in a home with any weapons. Expand the APPS list by adding more than two DUIs, other crimes.
APPS Enforcement (Leno/Steinberg): This legislative action authorizes DOJ to use existing DROS funding to eliminate the 19,000 backlog of individuals on APPS.
EDUCATION: Fostering a culture of responsible and informed gun ownership
Fire arm safety certificate (Block): This legislative action will establish a safety certificate for handguns, mirroring the training currently required annually to lawfully carry a concealed weapon (CCW).

The ground of the Campi Flegrei ("burning fields"), also known as the Phlegraean Fields, has risen more in recent weeks than it has in a long time. This does not necessary indicate a heightened risk of an eruption, however, says Thomas Wiersberg, a scientific drilling expert for the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) in Potsdam. The Phlegraean Fields are a large caldera, or volcanic crater, lying mostly underwater off the Italian coast. The caldera is thought to have been formed by a massive eruption some 35 000-40 000 years ago. The last major eruption in the fields of boiling mud and sulphurous steam holes, one of a few dozen super volcanoes worldwide, occurred in 1538.rnrnWiersberg is part of an international research team that began drilling into the ground not far from the caldera last summer to monitor possible early warning signs of an eruption. The team has drilled a pilot hole to a depth of 500 metres but no data has been gathered yet, Wiersberg said in an interview with dpa. Italy's Deparment of Civil Protection recently raised the alert level for the Phlegraean Fields, where Wiersberg said the ground was rising by about three centimetres a month. There are concerns that a magma chamber under the fields - presumably connected to the one under Mount Vesuvius, east of Naples - is filling up, the rising pressure possibly heightening the danger of an eruption. As Wiersberg pointed out, however, the two episodes of considerable ground uplift since the 1960s were not followed by an eruption. The uplift in the early 1970s - about 1.50 metres in three years - was somewhat greater than the current one, he said.rnrn"Many houses cracked," after which the ground deformation sharply subsided, Wiersberg said. "But it's true that the uplift has increased again during the past two or three months." An eruption could have serious consequences for the heavily populated region with knock-on effects for the whole of Europe. There could also be worldwide impact, for example in the form of climatic changes. No forecasts have been made thus far. Since super volcanoes seldom undergo massive eruptions, empirical data is lacking. "It's easy to assert there'll be an eruption sometime. That doesn't help us, though. We need more specific information," Wiersberg said. He said the drilling project aimed in part to monitor the Phlegraean Fields over the long term and gain more knowledge of what had occurred earlier in the super volcano. "First we've got to understand what's happening under the surface," Wiersberg said. Then it may be possible to say more about the likelihood of an eruption.rnrnFears of nearby residents - and some scientists - that the drilling could "awaken" the super volcano have proved to be unfounded. "Technically, everything went smoothly. No additional volcanic activities were triggered, nor were there any problems with gases or fluids," he noted. It has not yet been decided when the scientists will continue their project and begin drilling to a depth of 3 kilometres. "At the moment it's mainly a financial question," Wiersberg said. "There'll be deep drilling when Italy provides the necessary funds."

looks like they will be out on the street hiding in their armored trucks, on foot behind dumpsters or in the donut shop until the end of their shift. My guess most are going to be scared shitless on the streets of Chicago. Can't really blame them, I wouldn't want to be on the street either. I'm sure the local gangs know every crack in the street.
Yep, it will provide a sample of how they will approach things in the future. What better place to do a live test, right out in front of the people. They will all be praising them for taking action.
Chicago Police No Longer Respond To Lesser Crimes
February 04, 2013 |
To free up additional patrol officers, Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy has instructed officers not to respond to lesser crimes such as vehicle theft, garage burglary, or crime where the offender is no longer at the scene.
The move will free up 44 officers per day to respond to more serious offenses. The 911 calls are being transferred to the Chicago PD's Alternate Response Section, staffed by officers on light duty. Police reports will be taken over the phone. If necessary, evidence technicians will be assigned later, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
The Chicago Police Department is also in the midst of transferring 200 officers to patrol from administrative duties to stem the city's violence by the end of March. In January, the city recorded 43 murders, including 15-year-old band majorette Hadiya Pendleton.
The department will use the additional officers to saturate areas where trouble is brewing, reports the Chicago Tribune.

A very expensive battle is about to begin. The Gov. has control of commence, taxation, EPA, exec. order, TSA, and others to force the results they want. The NRA will need attorneys in every state, The states as an entity, the public, and other support organizations to push back.
Deal: NRA Lifetime membership for only $300 by calling 1-888-678-7894. It's usually $1000 so this discount is HUGE. The NRA needs members today to thwart efforts to ban guns!
Here's one to share with the uninformed.
Their comment is directly from the "Ed Show" on MSNBC. I flipped to them to hear the latest bull from then and they were showing pics of the CEO from brownings, midway and others. they went on to state the NRA does not represent gun owners anymore. Typical game play by the left. Put out misinformation, break it down to one sentence bits and repeat as much as possible.
The show aired Thursday or Friday.
Due to recent changes made by Reed Exhibitions regarding the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, Cabela’s will no longer sponsor this year’s event. After careful consideration regarding Cabela’s business practices, and the feelings of our customers, Cabela’s will, unfortunately, not have a presence at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.
Because you can never have too many laws, regulations and mandates, Massachusetts State Representative David Linsky has filed a new bill that would, among other things, force gun owners to undergo mental health background checks, acquire liability insurance, pay an additional 25% tax on all forms of ammunition, and require firearms categorized as “assault weapons” to be stored outside of their homes and only at government approved storage depots.
“This bill is a comprehensive effort to reduce all types of gun violence – murders, intentional shootings, accidental shootings and suicides. There is not one solution to reducing gun violence – we can’t eliminate it – but there are a lot of common-sense steps that we can take to significantly reduce the everyday tragedy of gun violence and deaths,” said Linsky.
…
“I have spoken with hundreds of people over the past few weeks in developing this legislation – victims, police officers, criminologists, physicians, and yes – gun owners and sportsmen,” stated Linsky. “There are a lot of good ideas out there. We should all have one goal – reducing gun violence and trying to keep more tragedies from happening.”
Provisions in the bill include:
• Having one standard of the issuance of all gun licenses, giving local police chiefs the ability to evaluate all aspects of an application for a gun license.
• Requires proof of liability insurance for possession of a firearm, rifle or shotgun.
• Requires that all large capacity weapons and grandfathered assault weapons must be stored at gun clubs or target ranges.
• Requires live shooting as part of the curriculum for a basic firearms safety course; this is not a current requirement.
• Requires all applicants for gun licenses and FID cards to sign a waiver of mental health records for review to be destroyed after decision.
• Imposes 25% sales tax on ammunition, firearms, shotguns, and rifles; dedicates funds towards firearms licensing, police training, mental health services, and victim’s services.
• Brings Massachusetts into compliance with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
• Limits gun buyers to one firearm purchase per month.

Bills such as this one are being filed by irrationally driven anti-gunners all over the country.
They are targeting every aspect of firearms in an effort to first reduce ownership, and then to ultimately ban it altogether.
They’ll expand the definitions for mental health to include basic forms of stress and normal human mood fluctuations and designate these as mental health conditions that would disqualify you from owning a gun.
They’ll tax gun purchases and ammunition like they’ve done with cigarettes (tripling the cost over a decade) and require huge insurance premiums, making ownership unaffordable for most Americans.
They’ll track the sale and transfer of all firearms through registration, with unjust punishments for anyone engaging in black-market trading.
And, eventually, another crisis – likely one that purports to threaten the very security and stability of the government of the United States – will be used in an attempt institute a complete roundup of the majority of modern firearms.
A full out assault on the Second Amendment is underway.

to bad they are so pricey
Three years ago, Swiss sensor manufacturer senseFly released its Swinglet CAM unmanned aerial vehicle. Priced around US$10,600, the little aircraft can follow a pre-programmed flight path or be piloted by remote control, and uses its built-in 12-megapixel camera to create aerial maps, or keep tabs on things like wildlife, crops and traffic. Now, based on its experiences with the Swinglet CAM, senseFly is about to release a new UAV known as the eBee.
Thanks to its detachable wings, the foam-bodied eBee and all its associated gear fits in a sturdy case that meets International Air Transport Association guidelines as carry-on luggage.
Once on site it can be launched by hand, after which it will autonomously follow a flight path mapped out in advance by the user, via the included eMotion 2 software. Users are also able to take control of the UAV at any point, and remotely pilot it in real time. Upon completion of its flight, it can land itself without any human intervention – thanks partially to an integrated ground sensor and the ability to run its motor in reverse.
The eBee has a wingspan of 96 centimeters (37.8 inches) and weighs in at 630 grams (22 oz)...
Some of the eBee’s other features include a 16-megapixel camera, onboard data logging, and the capacity to create 3D maps using that data after the flight. It has a 3-kilometer (1.9-mile) radio range, a maximum cruising speed of 57 km/h (35 mph), can hold its course against winds of up to 45 km/h (28 mph), and manages about 45 minutes of flight time on one charge of its lithium-polymer battery.
It has a wingspan of 96 centimeters (37.8 inches) and weighs in at 630 grams (22 oz), making it slightly larger and heavier than the Swinglet CAM – on the plus side, however, its camera, radio range, top speed, and flight time are better than those of the Swinglet.
Although there are any number of uses that the eBee could likely be put to, senseFly is aiming it at industries such as surveying and mining. While hobbyists might like to fly it around their neighborhood just for fun, at a planned price of around $12,000 (according to a report in IEEE Spectrum), they might want to find something else ... such as a $300 AR Drone, which is made by senseFLY’s new parent company, Parrot.

Not sure about that. It states they are not ordering, so they are still selling what they have. My guess is this is what all major sellers are doing since they all are out and many have resupply dates of jan 21 and after. I also find it odd that know one has 223 Mag's. Why would the companies that make these allow weeks of non shipment. all web sites I have been to state Feb 1 or later for restock. So the manufacture just decided to not make any for weeks?
My guess is they were "told" it would be in their best interest to not get stuck with Mags that can not be sold.
WalMart Suspends Ammo Orders Pending Gun Control Decision

RANGE-R® is a highly sensitive handheld radar system designed to detect and measure the distance to moving and near-stationary personnel through walls constructed of common building materials. Designed to increase situation awareness in urban environments, RANGE-R provides it's users with vital intelligence necessary to safely undertake a variety of law enforcement and search and rescue operations.
Typical RANGE-R applications include:
Police / SWAT — Determine the presence and location of assailants or hostages inside a building prior to entry
Search & Rescue — Locate injured or stranded people inside buildings damaged by earthquakes or flooding
Firefighters — Quickly determine whether people are trapped inside a room or building prior to entry
L-3’s patented stepped frequency continuous wave (SFCW) radar technology and proprietary target detection algorithms enable RANGE-R to operate as a highly sensitive Doppler motion detector. Advanced packaging design results in the smallest, lightest, handheld through wall sensor available today.
With target detection and analysis available in seconds, RANGE-R provides first responders with critical information that may make the difference between life and death.
