I've seen close to no political signs along the 30-35 mile drive I take.
No Harris signs and about five or six Trump ones.
People are playing their voting cards close to their vest around here.
ABC News rejects Kamala Harris’ last-minute bid to change Trump debate rules, will keep muted mics
By Diana Glebova and Steven Nelson Published Aug. 29, 2024 Updated Aug. 29, 2024, 1:36 p.m. ET
WASHINGTON — ABC News has declined to adopt Vice President Kamala Harris’ request to have wholly unmuted microphones during her Sept. 10 debate with former President Donald Trump — after days of wrangling over what Republicans viewed as Democratic attempts to lay a trap for the GOP nominee.
A network email reviewed by The Post lays out similar rules as those for Trump’s June 27 CNN debate against President Biden — including no audience, no pre-written notes or props and muted mics when a candidate is not speaking.
Trump and Harris will be standing on stage and will only be allowed to have a pen, a pad of paper and a bottle of water.
The Republican campaign had insisted the debate — set to be held at Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center — follow the same rules as the June showdown with Biden.
However, Harris’ team claimed Monday that they wanted both candidates’ mics on for the entire 90-minute forum.
A top Trump ally said ABC News had informed both campaigns in writing last week that it would employ the “CNN rules” and both had confirmed that Sept. 10 was a “go.”
“At this point, Team Harris is going to be taking an ‘L’ when they finally accept, as the debate rules aren’t changing, or they’ll take an even bigger ‘L’ if they back out of the debate because the Dana Bash/CNN interview goes poorly,” the person said.
The email seen by The Post was sent Tuesday by ABC News Chief Counsel Eric Lieberman. It reiterated the rules and asked the campaigns for their “formal acceptance.”
After The Post reported on the ABC News email Thursday, Harris spokesperson Brian Fallon said the Democrats “have been asked” to accept the Trump request to have the muted mics, but expressed frustration and said the Harris team remains “in discussions with ABC on the final rules.”
“Our latest understanding is that even though Trump said Monday he would be fine with an unmuted mic, his handlers don’t trust him to spar live with VP Harris and are asking ABC to ignore Trump’s comments and keep the mics muted or else they will back out of the debate for a third time,” Fallon wrote on X. “We have been asked to accede to Trump’s handlers’ wishes on this point for the sake of preserving the debate. We find the Trump’s team’s stance to be weak, and remain in discussions with ABC on the final rules.”
“The Harris folks are completely full of it,” Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller told Newsmax on Wednesday.
“Everything was agreed to and set last week,” he added. “The Harris people are trying to distract and come up with something shiny to move away from the fact that she’s not doing interviews.”
ABC News has not responded to repeated requests for comment.
It was widely assumed that Harris wanted the microphones unmuted to deploy an interjectory line to garner viral buzz.
Harris, a former prosecutor, generated sympathetic coverage for delivering a stern “I’m speaking!” rebuke in 2020 against then-Vice President Mike Pence — depicting him as sexist — after savaging Biden on a presidential primary debate stage in 2019 for opposing federally mandated interracial school busing.
“That little girl was me!” Harris emoted in a racially charged attack that prompted a furious future first lady Jill Biden to say the California senator should “go f–k herself.”
Both debate-stage quotes were later used on pro-Harris campaign merchandise.

Kamala Harris grants first interview to CNN after weeks of avoiding press, to be joined by Tim Walz
Joseph Wulfsohn Tue, August 27, 2024 at 5:21 PM EDT
Vice President Kamala Harris' first sit-down interview as the Democratic nominee will be a joint interview with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on CNN after weeks of avoiding the press.
The Democratic ticket will join CNN's Dana Bash for what's being called an "extensive interview" as they campaign in the battleground state of Georgia.
The interview will be taped Thursday afternoon and will air on Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET in a primetime special.
37 DAYS: VP HARRIS REFUSES TO REVEAL POLICY POSITIONS, GIVE NEWS CONFERENCES OR INTERVIEWS
https://www.foxnews.com/media/38-days-vp-harris-refuses-reveal-policy-positions-give-news-conferences-interviews
It has been over a month since Harris emerged as the Democratic nominee following President Biden's dramatic exit from the 2024 race. The VP had been facing growing scrutiny for avoiding interviews and press conferences, which only intensified after last week's Democratic convention.
Harris will have a lot to answer for, including several policy shifts she has apparently undergone, according to anonymous campaign statements to the press. She will likely be asked to explain her sudden evolution on issues like fracking, border security and private health insurance, all of which she took progressive stances on as a presidential candidate in 2019.
She will also likely face questions about what she knew about Biden's mental decline behind the scenes despite defending him publicly after his disastrous debate performance.

Walz, too, will likely face questions over the growing controversy surrounding his military service record as well as his left-wing policies he enacted as Minnesota's governor.
Bash was one of the moderators in the CNN presidential debate in June, which marked the beginning of the end for Biden's candidacy after his faltering performance shocked the nation.
AP PANNED FOR SAYING HARRIS IS ‘HAVING IT BOTH WAYS’ AS A SITTING VP, CHANGE CANDIDATE: ‘YOU’RE LETTING HER'

Former President Trump and his running mate Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, have repeatedly attacked Harris and Walz for avoiding the press as the Republican ticket has regularly done interviews and press conferences in recent weeks.
The Trump campaign responded to the news on X:
"BREAKING: On Thursday — 39 days since being installed as the Democrat nominee — Kamala will sit for her first formal interview.* ** * Joint, since she’s not competent enough to do it on her own. ** Taped, so her handlers have time to play damage control."
Trump senior adviser Jason Miller went even further, calling Harris a "chickens---" to "hide behind Tim Walz knowing he’ll get the tough questions on his doctored bio."
"Harris can’t even do 1-on-1 interview! & not even live, it’s taped, so they can edit Harris. Unbelievable," Miller added.

Most dangerous cosmetic surgeries revealed — one has a 92% risk of complications
By Reda Wigle Published Aug. 28, 2024, 1:09 p.m. ET
(Pictures at the link.)
Well, this is not uplifting news.
Americans can’t get enough of cosmetic procedures, which increased 5% in 2023 over the previous year, according to a report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
All procedures carry risk, but one in particular comes with a staggering 92% likelihood of complications, new research finds.
Eye color change surgery, which includes cosmetic iris implants, laser pigment removal and keratopigmentation, tops the list of the 10 most dangerous cosmetic surgeries.
With recovery times ranging from one to eight weeks and an average cost of $12,000, the researchers from the online eyewear retailer Overnight Glasses say patients are rolling the dice with their eyesight.
In keratopigmentation, which is not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, a laser is used to create a tunnel in the cornea to place the color pigment.
A French company that trains ophthalmologists to perform keratopigmentation shared footage last year of a woman who changed her brown eyes to a stark, vibrant blue in a clip scoring nearly 30 million views on TikTok.
But experts have long warned of the complications of this procedure, which include vision loss, blindness, glaucoma and uveitis, or eye inflammation.
Dr. Colin McCannel, a professor of clinical ophthalmology at the University of California, Los Angeles, told Healthline that it’s a “bad idea” to pursue “any unnecessary eye surgery” due to the risk of complications.
Other potentially dangerous cosmetic procedures?
Thigh lifts took the No. 2 slot on the Overnight Glasses list, with a 78% risk of complications such as blood clots, infection and altered skin sensation.
The celeb-beloved Brazilian butt lift came in at No. 3 with a 38% risk. Problems that can arise include fat cells entering the bloodstream and traveling to the lungs or brain, infection, nerve damage, swelling and scars.
Last year, a woman on TikTok claimed that she was “traumatized” by her BBL, comparing the feeling to getting beaten up by 20 gorillas.
Overnight Glasses’ list of the 10 most dangerous cosmetic surgeries
• Eye color change surgery (cosmetic iris implants, laser pigment removal, keratopigmentation): 92.3% complication rate
• Thigh lift: 78% complication rate
• Brazilian butt lift: 38% complication rate
• Body lift: 42% complication rate
• Injectable fillers: 65% complication rate
• Breast reduction: 38% complication rate
• Butt implants: 22% complication rate
• Breast augmentation: 14% complication rate
• Arm lift (brachioplasty): 21% complication rate
• Breast lift (mastopexy): 10% complication rate

Elon Musk leads parade of tech titans boosting Trump as the true ‘freedom candidate’
By Betsy McCaughey Published Aug. 26, 2024, 6:24 p.m. ET
(Bull feces talks. Money walks. I'm loving this.)
A shocking partisan switch is underway in the stratosphere of the tech titans: The industry known for its wokeness is betting big bucks on a Republican.
Last week, former President Donald Trump gave a thumbs-up to the notion of teaming up with billionaire innovator Elon Musk if he wins in November. Hours later, Musk posted a message on X: “I am willing to serve.”
Elon Musk for commerce secretary? Or perhaps for the newly created position of free speech czar?
Whether or not Musk actually joins a Trump administration — Trump himself said Sunday that the mogul is likely too busy to do so, but could “consult” — his bold steps to back the Republican signal a turnaround.
Musk voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020. Yet last month he launched a pro-Trump super PAC, which he and several other tech moguls are funding — even though Trump would likely remove federal subsidies for EVs, a major Musk industry, if he wins a second term.
Investor and “Shark Tank” star Mark Cuban called the phenomenon of tech bosses boosting Trump “insane.”
Not really: While Democrats strove mightily last week to push “freedom” as the theme of their convention, tech leaders are betting that freedom of speech, freedom to innovate and freedom from crushing government regulations and confiscatory taxes are more likely in a Trump reign than in a Kamala Harris administration.
Among those Silicon Valley heavyweights is Nicole Shanahan, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate.
“I would say that I trust the future of this country more under the leadership of Trump … than I do right now under Harris,” Shanahan said last week as Kennedy weighed his decision to back Trump in the race.
Harris’ economic plans, Shanahan warned — “particularly her flawed ideas about price caps on food” — echo “the very policies that caused the famine my family suffered through in Mao’s Communist China.”
The RNC platform, dictated largely by Trump himself, pledges lower taxes and deregulation, and describes innovators as national treasures.
In contrast, the Democrats’ 2024 platform vilifies businesses as greedy profiteers that don’t pay “their fair share” and proposes hiking corporate taxes to 28% and raising taxes on capital gains.
Andreessen Horowitz, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, said in December it would decide which presidential ticket to support based on one issue: “If a candidate supports an optimistic technology-enabled future, we are for them. If they want to choke off important technologies, we are against them.”
The firm called “bad government policies” the No. 1 threat to its industry.
Trump has expressed his enthusiasm for new technologies, even promising to “make America first in AI.”
By July, Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, the investment firm’s principals, had changed sides and endorsed Trump, saying the Republican will reduce regulation and lower taxes.
When Trump chose running mate JD Vance, a venture capitalist with Silicon Valley experience, tech entrepreneurs applauded.
PayPal founder David Sacks is throwing his support to Trump and even spoke at the Republican National Convention. Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale and cryptocurrency kings Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss are donating to Musk’s America PAC to back Trump.
Of course, the tech industry is an industry like any other, concerned with what government can do to damage the business environment.
Expect more tech leaders to change sides if Harris and running mate Tim Walz roll out policy proposals as misguided as those we’ve seen so far, like price controls.
Big Tech reacts to bad economic policies at every level, not just federal.
The same political metamorphosis bringing tech figures to Trump is also causing thousands of firms to flee California’s high taxes and overbearing regulations and relocate to Texas. They’re trading woke for business-friendly.
Austin, the state capital, has become a tech hub dubbed Silicon Hills. Musk announced recently he is moving his companies X and Space X to Texas.
Yet Musk is more than a Silicon Valley titan — he is also a crusader for free speech.
Last month he stared down a European Union bureaucrat who objected that Musk’s uncensored two-hour conversation with Trump on X could result in “disinformation.”
“Take a big step back,” Musk responded via a cheeky meme, after blasting the bureaucrat for his “alarming disregard for freedom of expression.”
Musk recently closed X in Brazil rather than comply with government censors there. X is suspended in Venezuela for refusing to take down posts challenging dictator Nicolás Maduro’s phony victory claims.
Ending government censorship is a top Republican priority. The Biden-Harris administration has used agencies from the FBI to the Department of Health and Human Services to pressure social media to do the administration’s bidding. The RNC platform pledges that federal interference will stop.
Musk wants “to promote the principles that made America great in the first place,” naming meritocracy and free speech among the core ideas his America PAC is pushing.
They’re not on Harris’ agenda — more reasons tech money is moving to Trump.
You don’t need AI to figure that out.

FNC’s Watters: ‘The Only Way Kamala Can Win Is if You Don’t Know Anything About Her’
JEFF POOR 27 Aug 2024 1:51
(I confess. I like the guy. Saw this last night. Loved it.)
Monday, during his show’s opening monologue, Fox News Channel “Jesse Watters Primetime” host Jesse Watters criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, and her campaign for avoiding interviews and attempting to change the terms of an agreed-upon debate with former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee.
“Kamala wants the mics hot because she wants to be interrupted,” he said. “Men don’t look good when they interrupt women or argue with women. That’s why I try not to interrupt Jessica so much on ‘The Five.’ I try. And she’ll probably snap back something sassy, and the media will package it that she won. The stakes are high because the debate would be the first time Democrats lose control over their anointed one. She’s on her own for 90 minutes, live in front of the whole country. No script, no notes, no Oprah, no Obama, no excuses. Kamala is going to have to defend the Biden record while explaining how she is different, defend her own record and explain how that’s changed and what it’s changed into. Defend her role in the cover up in the coup, and at the same time, attack Trump’s record on the economy, immigration and crime, which everybody knows is better.”
“And she’ll have to do it with joy in her first presidential debate against a guy who has done six,” Watters continued. “Now you know why she needs to bring notes. You’d think you would want to do some interviews first, you know, test out some lines. See how you react when you’re being challenged before you debate Trump cold, but apparently even that is too risky. The only way Kamala can win is if you don’t know anything about her.”

Zucker punch: Zuckerberg admits Biden admin pressured Facebook to censor COVID content, says it was wrong to suppress The Post’s Hunter laptop coverage
By Victor Nava Published Aug. 27, 2024, 1:16 a.m. ET
(Why do I think he's lying through his teeth when he says they'll be neutral going forward?)
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted Monday that the Biden administration pressured Facebook to censor COVID-19 content and acknowledged it was wrong to stifle The Post’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop.
In an explosive letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Zuckerberg wrote that “senior Biden administration officials, including the White House, repeatedly pressured” Meta to “censor” content related to the coronavirus pandemic in 2021.
The content the Biden administration requested that Meta take down included “humor and satire,” according to the Facebook founder, and he said he regrets complying with certain demands.
“I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,” he wrote. “I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn’t make today.”
Zuckerberg, 40, vowed that things will be different in future should the government make similar requests.
“Like I said to our teams at the time, I feel strongly that we should not compromise our content standards due to pressure from any Administration in either direction – and we’re ready to push back if something like this happens again,” he wrote.
Zuckerberg separately added that suppressing The Post’s exclusive report on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop ahead of the 2020 election was a mistake.
He explained to the House Judiciary Committee, which has been probing Facebook’s content moderation standards, that prior to the decision to limit sharing of the bombshell October 2020 story, the FBI had “warned” Meta about “a potential Russian disinformation operation” related to the Biden family and Ukrainian energy giant Burisma, where Hunter sat on the board of directors.
“That fall, when we saw a New York Post story reporting on corruption allegations involving then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s family, we sent that story to fact-checkers for review and temporarily demoted it while waiting for a reply,” Zuckerberg wrote.
“It’s since been made clear that the reporting was not Russian disinformation, and in retrospect, we shouldn’t have demoted the story,” he acknowledged.
Zuckerberg assured Jordan that Meta has put policies in place to ensure that similar censorship of stories “doesn’t happen again.”
“We’ve changed our policies and processes to make sure this doesn’t happen again – for instance, we no longer temporarily demote things in the US while waiting for fact-checkers,” the billionaire tech entrepreneur claimed.
Zuckerberg’s letter to Jordan is a far stronger admission that mistakes were made in the way his company handled The Post’s laptop exposé than the tech titan’s 2022 concession on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where he said, “it sucks” that the story was suppressed when it was not in fact Russian disinformation.
“It turned out after the fact, the fact-checkers looked into it, no one was able to say it was false … I think it sucks, though, in the same way that probably having to go through a criminal trial but being proven innocent in the end sucks,” the Meta CEO told Rogan.
“I think the process was pretty reasonable,” he added, still defending the censorship effort. “A lot of people were still able to share it. We got a lot of complaints that that was the case.”
The Post’s report on Hunter’s abandoned laptop revealed the existence of tens of thousands of emails between the president’s son and business associates, which showed how the first son leveraged his political access in his overseas business dealings.
Zuckerberg also said he doesn’t plan on spending another $400 million-plus to help finance local elections this cycle after the so-called “Zuckerbucks” initiative was roundly criticized by Republicans as an attempt to influence the 2020 vote.
“They were designed to be non-partisan — spread across urban, rural, and suburban communities,” he said of his motives. “Still, despite the analyses I’ve seen showing otherwise, I know that some people believe this work benefited one party over the other.”
“My goal is to be neutral and not play a role one way or another — or to even appear to be playing a role. So I don’t plan on making a similar contribution this cycle.”

Trump rally counter-sniper backs bombshell ‘evidence tampering’ claims by House GOPers
By Josh Christenson Published Aug. 26, 2024, 5:22 p.m. ET
A SWAT counter-sniper who was working the Pennsylvania rally where former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated last month agreed with Republican lawmakers Monday that an “odd” pattern of evidence-handling had taken place following the deadly shooting.
Washington Regional SWAT counter-sniper Ben Shaffer said it was “absolutely” concerning that the roof of the AGR International building had been quickly scrubbed and gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks’ body disposed of before an official autopsy report could be released.
Five House Republicans — Reps. Andy Biggs and Eli Crane of Arizona, Matt Gaetz and Cory Mills of Florida, and Chip Roy of Texas — hosted the panel discussion with Shaffer and other witnesses at the conservative Heritage Foundation.
“Do you find it odd that literally only days after the attempted assassination on President Donald J. Trump, while the roof was too sloped to place individuals for counter-sniper operations, that it wasn’t too sloped of a roof for the FBI to go ahead and tamper, in my opinion, with evidence by washing the roof off that may have had significant evidence on it?” Mills asked Shaffer, referring to the chain of events following the July 13 shooting at the Butler, Pa. campaign event which left one audience member dead and three others, including Trump, injured.
“Yes, I do,” Shaffer answered.

“Do you also find it odd … that the body of Matthew Crooks had not only been released and cremated — but that the coroner who’s responsible for releasing the body had no knowledge of it?” Mills pressed.
“Yes, absolutely,” Shaffer said.
“It sounds like destruction of evidence,” replied Erik Prince, a former US Navy SEAL who founded the private military contractor Blackwater in the late 1990s.
Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned over her disastrous testimony to Congress in the wake of the near-assassination of the 45th president, infamously said in her first interview since the attack that counter-sniper teams had not been placed on the AGR International building where Crooks later perched because of the “sloped roof.”
Mills also accused the FBI of a lack of transparency about Crooks’ purported “online” research into explosives and encrypted overseas messaging accounts.
Earlier, Shaffer told Biggs that Crooks being seen walking the grounds of the Butler Farm Show with a rangefinder scope should have elevated him from a “suspicious person” to a “person of interest” in law enforcement’s eyes.
“That would warrant some type of either investigatory detention or stop and question,” he said.
Crooks was first photographed by local counter-snipers at 5:10 p.m. and observed with the rangefinder “shortly after 5:38 p.m.,” according to Shaffer — 33 minutes before he targeted Trump at 6:11 p.m.
The gunman fired eight shots, striking Trump in the right ear and killing rallygoer Corey Comperatore, 50, and critically wounding David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74.
Counter-sniper teams fired two shots in response, but it is unknown whether just one of those shots or both killed Crooks, Shaffer noted in his testimony.
The 20-year-old shooter’s death was ruled a “homicide” by a “gunshot wound to the head,” according to an Aug. 2 report by Butler County Coroner William Young.
Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.), a former police officer and member of the House select task force probing the Butler shooting, revealed in a preliminary investigative report to the panel’s chairman Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) that “the FBI released the body for cremation 10 days after” the attack.
Crooks’ motivations remain a mystery for many lawmakers in the House and Senate — including Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.), another member of the select task force whose members traveled to Butler Monday to examine the rally scene.
At one point, lawmakers were spotted on the roof of the building where Crooks took up his position, about 150 feet from the stage where Trump was speaking.
Waltz said last week that FBI briefings had revealed Crooks’ use of messaging accounts on platforms located in Belgium, Germany and New Zealand.
“Why does a 19-year-old kid who is a health care aide need encrypted platforms not even based in the United States, but based abroad — where most terrorist organizations know it is harder for our law enforcement to get into?” Waltz said at a press conference last week.
“How did he learn to build those IEDs? How did he learn to install remote detonators? How did he conduct those searches and not get popped?” he told The Post the following day. “I still have a lot of questions.”
“We’ve heard both the Secret Service and the FBI kind of phrase it in different ways — that everything they’ve seen [points to] he acted alone and that they have yet to find any co-conspirator,” Waltz added. “I find that hard to believe, and I want to see, where’s the proof?”
“Any suggestion the FBI is interfering with congressional efforts to look into the attempted assassination which took place in Butler, Pennsylvania, is inaccurate and unfounded,” the bureau said in a statement Monday evening. “The FBI has been working closely with our law enforcement partners to conduct a thorough investigation into the shooting, and we have followed normal procedures in the handling of the crime scene and evidence.
“The FBI continues its painstaking work on the investigation to develop as complete a picture as possible of what led to the shooting, and we remain committed to maximum transparency as we continue to share information with Congress, which includes participating in open hearings and conducting multiple direct briefings and publish information for the public regarding the ongoing investigation.
“The crime scene was released to the property owners in phases as we completed our work at the AGR building, its surroundings, and at the Butler Farm Show grounds. Nothing was rushed and everything was documented as part of the investigation,” the statement added. “The FBI arranged for the cleaning of the location where the perpetrator died, which is in keeping with normal procedures. The shooter’s body was released to his family after coordination with the coroner’s office and our state and local law enforcement partners. This is also in keeping with normal procedures.”
The Butler County Coroner’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Tulsi Gabbard Endorses Donald Trump: He Did Not ‘Start Any New Wars’
ELIZABETH WEIBEL 26 Aug 2024 3:08
Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I-HI) endorsed former President Donald Trump for president on Monday, noting that during his first term as president, he did not “start any new wars.”
While speaking at the National Guard Association of the United States conference on Monday, Trump introduced Gabbard to speak. Gabbard’s endorsement comes days after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his presidential campaign and endorsed Trump.
“I mean what I say when I share with you that I know that President Trump understands the grave responsibility that a President and Commander-in-Chief bears for every single one of our lives,” Gabbard added. “Whether you’re a soldier, you’re an Airmen, a Marine, sailor, or a Coastie, he keeps us in his heart in the decisions that he makes. We saw this through his first term in the presidency, when he not only didn’t start any new wars, he took action to de-escalate and prevent wars.”
“He exercised the courage that we expect from our Commander-in-Chief in exhausting all measures of diplomacy, having the courage to meet with adversaries, dictators, allies, and partners alike in the pursuit of peace, seeing war as a last resort,” Gabbard added. “The truth is as we head towards our decision as a country in November, the same can not be said about Kamala Harris. In fact, the opposite is true, and we’re living through this reality today as this administration has us facing multiple wars on multiple fronts in regions around the world, and closer to the brink of nuclear war than we ever have been before. This is one of the main reasons why I am committed to doing all that I can to send President Trump back to the White House where he can once again serve us as our Commander-in-Chief.”
Gabbard added that she had been at Arlington Cemetery with Trump on Monday morning where he honored 13 fallen service members who lost their lives during the Biden administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal.

Comedian Eddie Griffin praised former President Donald Trump for saying what he was going to do for black people, should he win the election, adding that Democrats at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) did not “cop” his vote...
The comedian previously stated in an interview in 2015, that he would vote for anyone over Trump, such as Kanye West.
Really foul language. Read at your own risk.

Stewart Blasts Hypocrisy of ‘Often Contradictory’ DNC
IAN HANCHETT 24 Aug 2024 1:08
On Thursday’s edition of Comedy Central’s “Daily Show,” host Jon Stewart stated that the DNC had “a display of the breadth and width of this diverse, often contradictory party of Roosevelt.”
During a monologue, Stewart said, “But credit where credit is due, the Democrats, on short notice, exploited their newfound momentum and enthusiasm with a display of the breadth and width of this diverse, often contradictory party of Roosevelt. At their convention, they had union leaders and CEOs. They had Democratic Party icons and lifelong Republicans. They had a guy yelling screw the billionaires, followed immediately by a very happy billionaire. … They had guys making fun of people for going to Yale, and a bunch of people who went to Yale. … The Democrats had people who prosecuted sexual predators, and a –.”
After saying, “a –“, Stewart put a picture of former President Bill Clinton on the screen and then remarked, “There goes that booking.”

Israel and Hezbollah exchange fire over Lebanon over terrorist group’s revenge plot
By Katherine Donlevy Published Aug. 25, 2024 Updated Aug. 25, 2024, 4:32 a.m. ET
(Aren't we lucky to have strong leadership in the White House?)
Israel launched a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon early Sunday in an attempt to stop a missile attack by Hezbollah — which later fired rockets into Israel’s northern area.
“In a self-defense act to remove these threats, the (Israeli military) is striking terror targets in Lebanon, from which Hezbollah was planning to launch their attacks on Israeli civilians,” Israeli military spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said.
The attack was carried out by fighter jets, Hargari said, with a focus on the terrorist organization.
Lebanese media reported strikes in the country’s south without immediately providing more details.
The attack was made in anticipation of Hezbollah fulfilling promises to launch a heavy barrage of rockets and missiles toward Israel as revenge for the assassination of one of its top military commanders last month, the IDF said.
“We can see that Hezbollah is preparing to launch an extensive attack on Israel, while endangering the Lebanese civilians,” Hagari said.
”We warn the civilians located in the areas where Hezbollah is operating to move out of harm’s way immediately for their own safety,” he added.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military had eliminated “thousands of rockets that were aimed at northern Israel.”
“We are determined to do everything to defend our country, to return the residents of the north securely to their homes and to continue upholding a simple rule: Whoever harms us — we will harm them,” Netanyahu said Sunday.
Despite the preventative attack, Hezbollah went forward with its plan and launched a major barrage of missiles on northern Israel.
Hezbollah said its attack involved more than 320 rockets aimed at multiple sites in Israel and a “large number” of drones.
Warning sirens sounded in northern Israel and multiple explosions were heard around several areas as Israel’s Iron Dome aerial defense system shot down rockets coming from southern Lebanon, and several flights from Tel Aviv were suspended.
Hezbollah’s attack was in retaliation for the killing of Fouad Shukur in a strike in Beirut’s southern suburbs last month.
It was not immediately clear whether there were any casualties in the battle.
The exchanged fire comes as Egypt hosts a new round of cease-fire talks aimed at ending Israel’s war against Hamas.
Hezbollah, which joined forces with Hamas nearly immediately after Oct. 7, said it would put down its arms if there is a cease-fire.

Morning, cap. In your 20s, you have the face nature gave you.
When you reach your 50s, you have the face you earned.
Veep (withered flesh) Throat is in big trouble.
Thanks, I liked it too. Turley spoke the truth.
It also reminded me that Trump was a lifelong Democrat, too.
They rejected him years ago when he started putting out feelers about running for president.
DJT & RFK, Jr...
Don't get mad.
Get even.
Lesson of RFK is how Democrats drive away their own voters
By Jonathan Turley Published Aug. 24, 2024, 1:19 p.m. ET
The withdrawal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the presidential race and his endorsement of former President Donald Trump was yet another extraordinary moment in an election that has been anything but predictable.
Only a year ago, it would have been unthinkable that a sitting president would be effectively forced off a ticket and replaced by a candidate who did not secure a single vote for president.
Now, the nephew of John F. Kennedy and son of the Robert F. Kennedy has not just withdrawn from the Democratic Party but endorsed the Republican nominee.
Amidst all of the claimed “joy” of the Democratic National Convention, there is a sobering reality that is being ignored by the ecstatic press and pundits: this is how Democrats make Republicans.
There is an old expression that “a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged.”
Kennedy has not become a Republican but rather joined the roughly half of Americans now identifying as independents. While this country is solidly under the hold of a duopoly of power in the two main parties, only 25% of the country identify as Democrats, and 25% as Republicans.
Kennedy’s departure from the Democrats has been mocked in the press. However, when he spoke on his withdrawal, many of us who have been lifetime members of the party identified with his remarks.
I come from a politically active liberal Democratic family in Chicago. I spent much of my life working for liberals since I first came to Washington as a Democratic House page in the 1970s. I did stints on the Hill or on campaigns with Democrats ranging from Rep. Sid Yates (Ill.) to Sen. William Proxmire (Wis.) to Mo Udall (Arz.). I even worked on the campaign and ran for delegate for RFK Jr.’s uncle, Sen. Ted Kennedy.
Then the party changed. Where once they defended free speech, Democrats have rallied behind censorship and blacklisting of those with opposing views. They have sought to block dozens of Republicans from ballots, including former President Trump. To make matters worse, they have done so in the supposed name of democracy.
Those actions were raised by Kennedy in his powerful and poignant withdrawal speech. He detailed how the Democratic party moved to stop him from running against President Biden in the primary, including efforts to block him from ballots. It was an ironic moment. After harassing candidates like RFK and Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips, the Democratic leadership then simply installed their choice at the convention in an unprecedented bait-and-switch.
There could have been a substantive primary that exposed the diminished mental state of Biden and allowed for a democratic choice on the best nominee. Instead, the Democrats prevented such choices from being made and selected a leader with all of the transparency and deliberation of a party Congress in China.
Kennedy said that the Democratic Party has virtually shoved him and other voters into the arms of Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
Kennedy observed that “I began this journey as a Democrat, the party of my father, my uncle, the party which I pledged my own allegiance to long before I was old enough to vote.”
He said that his party was the one that championed free speech, government transparency, and opposed unjust wars. “True to its name, it was the party of democracy.”
He said that the party has turned its back on all of the values that once defined it. For former Democrats like Kennedy, running on “joy” is no substitute for these profound changes in the party.
Indeed, the DNC bordered on the creepy as speaker after speaker sold the idea that, if voters could just swallow the Harris candidacy, they would immediately experience joy like some political prozac commercial.
It is not clear whether the red pill/blue pill pitch will be enough, or whether Kennedy’s endorsement will turn the critical votes in swing states.
However, the DNC showed how Democrats make Republicans. The unrelenting identity politics and claims of defending democracy (while opposing democratic choice) only reaffirmed for many that there is no longer a big tent in the party of Roosevelt and Kennedy.
There is a serious question whether John F. Kennedy would recognize or support the current Democratic Party. It now rejects many of his core, mainstream values.
His nephew highlighted the irony of how the party not only worked to block the ability of opponents to challenge President Biden but worked to “conceal the cognitive decline of the sitting president.”
Even the Washington Post recently admitted that “the 81-year-old had shown signs of slipping for a long time, but his inner circle worked to conceal his decline.”
However, the Post failed to note that Vice President Kamala Harris was part of that inner circle. Indeed, she has been touting her close work with Biden in her campaign.
There is little recognition that, if true, it means that Harris, the White House, and leading Democrats lied to the public about Biden’s mental decline for their own political interests.
For Kennedy, it was all too much “and, most sadly … in the name of saving Democracy, the Democratic Party set itself to dismantling it, lacking confidence in its candidate, that its candidate could win in a fair election at the voting booth.”
There is little “joy” in that.

A great pejorative name for Harris...
Veep Throat.
Damn. I wish I had coined that.
DAVI: Hollywood’s ‘Joyous’ Kamala Cackle Cover-Up
ROBERT DAVI 7 Aug 2024 1:25
I’ve been an actor and director in Hollywood almost my entire life. It is a world of make-believe, not only on screen but off. There’s nothing that makes executives more nervous than a first-time director with no experience….someone in charge of the entire production who has never been in charge. But Hollywood has solved that problem over and over again by surrounding the first-timer with all the right people from the cinematographer to the production designer to the writers and on and on.
We all know Hollywood’s involvement with the left. We all understand their goal. So what do they do with the political equivalent of a “first- timer” with no executive experience, an unlikability factor that’s through the roof, an inability to improv or go off script, not to mention a cackle that makes fingernails on a chalkboard a sound to fall asleep to?
It’s simple. It’s a rebrand. The cackle is simply one word: JOY. You’ve already started to hear it and you will continue to hear it until November. Ignore her policies. Ignore her record. Ignore everything about her. Kamala Harris is filled with JOY.
Rebrand complete. Throw in the immense value of teleprompters at every turn and a complicit media that doesn’t push her to do any interviews or go off script and you’ve got yourself a movie.
Don’t watch it.

Wow. Bet the family will be in shock when they realize how long your sister has been gone.
I cannot imagine what you folks are going through.
Although you were estranged, it's still a heavy duty loss and reminder of mortality.
Hang in there... in good health.
Thanks, Flo. I got it and answered. I've already gotten a concerned PM and will share the story since you've given us the okay to do so.
Take care, dear lady. I'm glad you're still here.
GM, Gmenfan. Thanks. I was floored when I read it.
Harris and family = Government Grifters on steroids.
I can't think too much about it. It is making me crazy.
Looks like another nice weather day ahead.
The warming trend begins.
Not sure about your area but we're due for the 90s on Tu & W.
Hope you'll be able to enjoy it.
