Ill add it to the rumor wall. The C&A 2 script could also hit the rumor mill. But I bet they do alot of scripts first and then sell it to the studios.

I wouldnt be surprised to see more deals with Dreamworks in the future.
Id probally lose that bet.
Nice, thanks seabeewife. 2009 is going to be a good year with all these movies coming out. I wonder how Scott is going to get around. (private jet). He is helping to produce a lot of projects at the same time and some are in different countries. Italy (Dylan Dog) Australia (Witchblade) ???? (Cowboys) How fun.
MM
I have to say you could be right. Here.
Alana Joli Abbott is the author of two novels, Into the Reach and Departure, and is the writer for Cowboys and Aliens: Worlds at War. Her work has been featured in roleplaying games, including Chronicles of Ramlar and Steampunk Musha. Her love for fantasy and science fiction has led her to many diverse pursuits, including traveling to visit ancient ruins in Turkey, Greece, Ireland, the UK, and Mexico, singing madrigals, studying stage combat, and practicing kempo karate with her husband. She lives near New Haven, CT.
Cowboys and Aliens: Worlds at War is the comic sequel. She could be the comic artist assistant but I dont think so. She works on scripts.

Heres 1 lady. The report say has a part in the Cowboys and Aliens flick. Could it be? Rumor.
An agent saw her in a school stage production, which led to Pope's screen debut in an independent children's film, Cowboys and Aliens, on location in distant Eastern Europe.

No word on the actors. Yea, I guess they wont use any of those actors. :)
Nothing that I have seen. C&A may have started filming, but no way of knowing. Atlantis Rising probally is in script writing, but who knows. Or Nothing could have started on that one yet. This is all speculation of course.

ARCLIGHT FILMS, PLATINUM STUDIOS, INC AND TOP COW PRODUCTIONS PARTNERING TO BRING "WITCHBLADE" TO THE BIG SCREEN
LOS ANGELES, May 12, 2008 - Platinum Studios, Inc. (OTCBB: PDOS), an entertainment company that controls an international library of more than 5,600 comic book characters which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media, in conjunction with Top Cow Productions, an entertainment company specializing in building intellectual properties through comic book and graphic novel publication, and Arclight Films, one of the leading international film sales companies, today announced a deal to co-produce a feature film based on the action fantasy thriller "Witchblade." The best-selling comic book franchise created by Top Cow, has sold over 100 million units worldwide since its #1 debut in 1995.
It is anticipated that the film would be shot on location in Australia. The exact story line and nature of the script is being kept under wraps but will stay true to the "Witchblade" mythology which centers around an ornate, jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives superpowers to the wearer, a chosen female bearer of each generation, who possess it.
"'Witchblade' is one of the premier comic book titles in the world," said Gary Hamilton, CEO of Arclight. "This property is the cornerstone of our upcoming production and sales slate and we hope to be able to start production in September 2008."
Hamilton, Nigel Odell, head of Arclight's production operations, Platinum Studios' CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and Steve Squillante of Havenwood Media are all set to produce. Top Cow's CEO Marc Silvestri and President Matt Hawkins would serve as executive producers as would Platinum Studios' Rich Marincic. Former Universal Pictures senior executive Randy Greenberg of the Greenberg Group, who helped negotiate the deal with Platinum Studios General Counsel, Helene Pretsky, would also executive produce.
"'In my opinion, Witchblade' is one of the finest comic book properties yet to be made into a full length feature film," said Platinum Studios' Rosenberg. "'I believe that Witchblade's fantastic origin, intriguing mystery and wonderful story should satisfy the core audience while giving all moviegoers an amazing ride."
"We have been looking for the right opportunity to bring 'Witchblade' to the big screen," said Marc Silvestri, CEO of Top Cow. "We are fortunate to have production partners who value the story and the characters so much and have a shared vision."
The 'Witchblade' comic book has been published in more than 21 languages and distributed in over 55 countries. The notable success of the comic book led to the highly rated made-for-TV movie in 2000, which spawned a weekly series that ran for two seasons on TNT. The property has been licensed all over the world into magnets, trading cards, posters, lithographs, skateboards, collectible masks, lunch pails, role playing games, collectible Halloween masks, soundtracks, novelizations, die cast cars, Digital DVD comics, statues, Christmas ornaments and multiple toy lines.
Most recently, "Witchblade" was licensed in Japan to Gonzo Digimation Holding and made into an anime TV show. The first season's 26 original produced half-hour episodes ran on terrestrial television to rave reviews and ratings -- of the 97 different Anime series on the air in 2006, "Witchblade" was #17 -- and it was the highest anime debut of an American property ever. Late last year, FUNimation released the Japanese anime to the DVD market in the U.S. and it became the #1 Amine DVD debut of 2007.
Platinum Studios's film and TV division has various other properties in development at major film studios, including "Atlantis Rising" at DreamWorks and Kurtzman/Orci ("Transformers") set to produce, "Cowboys and Aliens" again at Dreamworks with Kurtzman/Orci partnering with Universal Pictures partnering with Imagine Entertainment, and "Unique" at Walt Disney Pictures. Platinum Studio's also recently announced its partnering with Hyde Park Entertainment to co-produce "Dead of Night", based on the beloved Italian comic book series, Dylan Dog.
Top Cow's TV series Witchblade , which was TNT's #1 original show of 2000, is set to have the 2001-2002 episodes released on DVD on July 29, 2008. Additionally, Top Cow has turned Wanted, a Will Eisner Comic Industry Award-nominated miniseries published by Top Cow from 2003-2005, into a major motion picture that is being released on June 27, 2008 by Universal Pictures. The film stars Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, and Morgan Freeman and is directed by Timur Bekmambetov.

"Did not hear it. I had actually emailed *** a couple of times asking **** to get on the radio. I am not sure how many of you have Sirius, but I asked *** to put **** on the Howard Stern show. Howard is a huge comic book / superhero fan, and even though his audience is smaller right now, they are still very much influenced by Howard. In my email, I said if they were afraid of **** being interviewed there, they should at least send over a "care package", mentioning all of **** upcoming projects, signed pictures, etc. Howard talks about comics and superhero movies all of the time, and would probably mention receiving the package."
Heres the latest on the deal with Witchblade. Platinum, Topcow & Arclight Films Pty Ltd producing. You guys (and ladies) will like this. The key words "We hope to be able to start production in September." and "The companies are already eyeing a location shoot in Australia".

Heres the story of Dylan Dog in the Italian post Brian was refering to. Came in my hotmail box. Sign up for newsletter if you havent yet.
Platinum's Dylan Dog announcement makes front-page news in Italy!!
Platinum Studios announced the feature film DEAD OF NIGHT via an exclusive feature in one of Italy's largest newspapers, La Repubblica. The feature ran as a full page on the cover of the newspaper's entertainment section. Even the journalist who wrote the exclusive feature was excited by it - and said it was "huge!!!!!!!" See the original piece below and a rough but concise English translation follows.
View the entire article here.
http://www.platinumstudios.com/docs/press/La_Repubblica_050908.pdf
English Translation:
"I can read the Bible, Homer or Dylan Dog for days on end without ever feeling bored," so states Umberto Eco, a fan of the comic created by Tiziano Sclavi in 1986, published by Sergio Bonelli Editore, a comic that has since become a real popular phenomenon (56 million copies sold in 17 countries, translated in just as many languages). "Dylan Dog" is also successful in the United States where, in 1997, Platinum Studios bought the ancillary right to the property, these include TV and Film rights as well as merchandizing.
After many attempts to extract a movie based on the adventures of the fascinating London detective, usually dressed in a black blazer, red shirt, jeans and Clarks shoes, who conquers beautiful women all the while investigating paranormal phenomenon and fights absurd monsters, zombies, vampires, werewolves "Dylan Dog" will be on the big screen next year. This ambitious film project - a Platinum and Hyde Park Productions co-production - has just been announced in Los Angeles. The film, titled "Dead of Night" in the United States, but "Dylan Dog" in the rest of the world, will be realized on a budget somewhere between 30 and 50 million dollars; principal photography is said to begin in early July. The director will be by Kevin Munroe ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles") and the lead will see American rising star Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns") in the role of Sclavi's hard-boiled hero. In fact, Dylan Dog had made it to the big screen once before with "Dellamore Dellamorte", a film by Michele Soavi (1994), with Rupert Everett, a film in which, although Dylan Dog was never mentioned, his traits, the situations he usually finds himself in and the overall tone of the comic, were all clearly presented. It also wasn't coincidental for Rupert to play the pseudo-Dylan: Tiziano Sclavi, who had named his hero after his favorite poet Dylan Thomas, also created Dylan Dog in the image of the English actor!
For Scott Rosenberg, president of Platinum Group, and Ashok Amritraj, CEO of Hyde Park (to which we owe a number of discretely successful films and which is now in Los Angeles producing "Streetfighter", based on the videogame) to finally realize "Dylan Dog" is nothing short of a dream come true, especially after previous attempts to set up the movie at Miramax and Dreamworks. To be able to develop the film independently, without the intervention of the major Hollywood studios is what has allowed the producers to faithfully adapt the beloved comic (the project will be looking for international markets sales at the Cannes festival).
"We do not want to compromise the classic representation of Dylan Dog, nor do we want to have to deal with people who do not know the character as well as we do", sustains Rosenberg. "We've been waiting for years for this moment: we really love Dog and his mystery world". "I knew the property but I didn't think it would be possible to make a movie from it until I received a copy of the script from Platinum Studios", adds Amritraj. "I liked it because it's an action movie at the center of which we find a totally original, cool, avant-guard character, he is surrounded by an absolutely interesting world that will be intriguing to all age groups".
The story has been moved to New York in the present day, from London where Sclavi had originally set the world. Dylan Dog is forced back into his nightmare investigation after he is approached by a woman who claims to have seen her father brutally murdered by a mysterious creature. With his street smart, his gun and a set of paranormal weapons- and the help of his sidekick- Dylan seems to be the only one capable to restore order under as well as above ground. "Even though the comic was well known in many countries, it was important to create a story that would also be relevant to those who knew nothing about Dylan", says Kevin Munroe, already on the East coast of the US to scout for a shooting location. "Dylan returns to his investigative specialty because he is not indifferent to humans' problems, he senses that he is needed to protect the living against the monsters that live amongst them". Producers and director affirm that what has set Dylan Dog apart has for long contributed to his success, isn't pure action in a world populated by vampires, zombies and werewolves: "The most exciting journey is an emotional one", continues Munroe, "in our movie, Dylan is dragged back in the darkest side of the human emotional landscape, a place he had resisted. Dylan Dog is not a super hero, nor is he super natural, he is a man who finds himself in extraordinary circumstances: gradually, over the course of the film we discover all these creatures who live amongst us and we slowly come to understand who the real bad guys truly are".
Like in "Men in Black", which curiously was also originally proposed to the same Rosenberg when he was at the helm of Malibu Comics before founding Platinum Studios, the comedic aspect of the story rests on the relationship between Dylan and his sidekick: in the American version of the comic, Groucho's moustaches had been removed to respect the wishes of the Groucho Marx estate, in the movie, the sidekick was replaced by a new fictional character who maintains the bright caustic spirit so much needed by Dylan.
"Dylan Dog is interesting because he is a faulty character, unlike Superman", explains Brandon Routh, who has been tied to the project for two years and who has known about the comic by Sclavi for a while, since he was introduced to it by a friend who had lived in Italy for a long time. "It will be exciting to bring him on the big screen, no one has ever seen a character quite like him. It is nice to think that my presence on the project will attract the attention of both the comic and fantasy worlds, due to my previous roles. For example, Dylan is a man who ends up losing his women, a problem a lot of us can understand. He is sarcastic but also has a god hearth. It is however also clear that this is a movie about escape, but at the same time one has to confront the usual questions surrounding life and death. Some will resist the fact that an American will play the part", admits Brandon, penned in for future sequels of the movie franchize. "But I believe the audiences will be open to our interpretation".
Munroe considers the Dylan Dog series a lot more exciting than the Ninja Turtles: "I'm fascinated by the stories," says the director. "They are populated by classic characters in the likes of Dirty Harry and Die Hard. And like in those movies, you understand that the worst monsters of them all are precisely human beings. It isn't by chance that, since my first meeting with Platinum and Hyde Park, even without knowing the budget, that I said that my idea was to show Dylan Dog in his world as realistically as possible, showing how the paranormal entities coexist flawlessly in a human world. The audience must believe that zombies can exist in New York, that vampires roam free even if they can't be seen, just like in Men in Black. I want a lot of action and very little CGI, more prosthetics and less special effects. I want to make a film that unites comedy and horror, an epic tale of love and horror." And like Indiana Jones, Munroe will end the movie with the possibility for future sequels.

Thanks for replying so quickly. We had already labeled the "Slaughter" movie as a rumor. It needs more digging to find out what is happening here. We still need to do D&D and these things will pop up from time to time. Just like you say artists open mouth, insert foot and we catch it. Just keep doing like you do "saying rumor until confirmed". Personally, Im glad both of you read this board and answer some questions. Helps us keep informed. We try to keep ourselves informed, but at the same time, may come up with something you did not know and you need to go check on. Hopefully, it will be something big you were waiting for.

I think we need Brain to comment on this. Depending on that, this could go to the rumor mill for further review.

BTW, I have noticed that the Dylan Dog press release has not come out yet on business wire or prime wire (yahoo). Not sure why, but Im not seeing any prs on this other than the one Platinum Studios did. The movie companys websites did pick up on it though. but looks like it is from Variety and does not include Platinums additional info.
Pretty soon he will be more well known than Stan Lee and he will be known as the next movie mogal. :)
Personally, I think it has to do with lack of exposure to the investors. Non-Advertising is one of the biggest killers of any company stock. Some of my other stocks that do not give out info to investor will sit for days on end with no volume. Platinum is getting out the exposure to the public. It just takes time. We have also only been trading for around 3 months. I would not expect to see heavy trading on this stock especially in this non spending economy. Almost all of the ob stocks have slowed in volume right now, even my good ones are down. People dont have money to spend on stocks. They need food, gas, life items first. However, That being said, I think money is sitting on the sidelines waiting to be spent. With the right advertising and contracts and letting people know about it, companys can make a killing. Increase in shares will not make for more volume. Just add to the problem. Volume will still be slow and we will now complain about too many shares. But your right. Not a flipper stock. Long term.
Just my 2 cents.
MM
Heres what I was looking for. Since Dylan Dog is a main European Icon, did they know about the latest news. Guess they did. News travels fast.

Brian, Are we going to be a Wizard World in Philly this month. or should I just assume we go to all conventions since this question would come up again next month.
MM
Hey, Im curious. How come his word vs Variety's word is better. They mention Platinum in Variety but Brandon did not mention it. Thats probally it. A guys word is simply not enough anymore I guess LOL. At least from a business aspect of it. But like Brian says, "they have to get all parties ready to reveal it". Thats just smart business IMO. It is pretty funny though now that I think about it. Oh well. At least we got a good movie in play with merchandise and all the benefits that come with it.
In my opinion.

Thanks so much.

BELOVED ITALIAN COMIC BOOK "DYLAN DOG" TO BECOME FEATURE FILM
Former Licensing and Merchandising exec who launched Fox's "The Simpsons" and Sony's "Spider-man" and "Spider-man 2" to handle worldwide licensing
LOS ANGELES, CA - May 8, 2008 - Ashok Amritraj's Hyde Park Entertainment Group, an entertainment company which produces, finances and distributes motion pictures around the world, and Platinum Studios Inc. (OCTBB: PDOS), an entertainment company that controls an international library of more than 5,600 comic book characters which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media, have entered into an agreement for the co-production of the motion picture "Dead of Night" based on the best-selling Italian comic book series, 'Dylan Dog' created by Tiziano Sclavi. Published since 1986 by Sergio Bonelli Editore, the comic series has sold more than 56 million units worldwide and has been translated into 17 languages. The companies' goal is for Dylan Dog to become a franchise with multiple pictures.
Brandon Routh, ('Superman Returns'), is set to star as 'Dylan' - a private investigator who is drawn into the world of the undead.
Kevin Munroe, whose 2007 re-imagining of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' resurrected the billion dollar franchise, will direct a script by Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly ('Sahara' and 'Conan The Barbarian').
Hyde Park chairman and CEO, Amritraj will produce alongside Platinum Studios' chairman and CEO, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, who brought the billon dollar "Men In Black" franchise to Sony. Platinum Studios' Rich Marincic will co-produce and Hyde Park's Patrick Aiello will executive produce. Former Universal Pictures senior executive Randy Greenberg of the Greenberg Group, who helped negotiate the deal with Platinum Studio's General Counsel Helene Pretsky, will executive produce. SAF Comics president, Ervin Rustemagic, will also executive produce.
Hyde Park is currently in production on "Street Fighter", based on the extremely popular video game that is being directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak under Hyde Park's first look co-production deal with 20th Century Fox. Hyde Park also recently released "Premonition" through Sony, "Death Sentence" through Fox and is in post production on Thomas Jane's directorial debut in 3D, "The Dark Country", which he also starred, for Sony's Stage 6. Hyde Park just wrapped the Jesse Metcalfe romantic comedy cross-cultural starrer, "The Other End of the Line", which will be released through MGM.
Other companies in the Hyde Park Entertainment Group include Hyde Park International, Hyde Park Animation, and Hyde Park Asia, each of which have their own projects in various stages of development and production.
Platinum Studios' film and TV division has various other properties in development at major film studios, including "Atlantis Rising" at DreamWorks with Kurtzman/Orci ("Transformers") set to produce, "Cowboys & Aliens" again at DreamWorks with Kurtzman/Orci patnering with Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, and "Unique" at Walt Disney Pictures.
Al Ovadia & Associates has been hired by Platinum Studios and Hyde Park as worldwide agent for merchandising both the Picture and the comic book property. The company's President, Al Ovadia, is the former head of both 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures Entertainment Consumer Products. Ovadia has managed a number of the entertainment industry's successful merchandising programs including Fox's global launch of The Simpsons, as well as, Columbia Pictures' Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 feature films.
"I am thrilled to have a chance start a relationship with Hyde Park and to renew one with Scott Rosenberg that dates back to the hugely successful, Men in Black.", said Ovadia. "With only limited previous licensing over Dylan Dog's twenty plus year life, and a fan base in the millions, we are hopeful that classic Dylan Dog and the feature Dead of Night will be big hits, in Italy and around the world".

Thanks for confirming it with us. We were waiting on it. Question: How did Variety get you to confirm this when Brandon himself already stated the fact? Is it because they mentioned Platinum? Im just curious is all.
Has Scott already booked his ticket to Europe. He should think of booking it now. Gas is driving ticket prices way up.
So, can we get a PR on these 2 items. Both are important (partner and movie confirmation). As much as I love our team here, there is only 9 bookmarks (confirmed investors here), excluding those that just read and dont post, and without a PR, you will not hit the masses on this news. I know you know this, just pointing it out. The Dylan Dog news is especially good and will drive those Europians into a frenzy. Dancing in the streets (joking).

Speaking of Cowboys and Aliens. After that movie comes out and is a big success, they can do this one. Can we say sequel. Interview.

Check out this C&A parody.
Okey, fair enough. I will consider "it" a rumor and since I dont know what "it" is, because you didnt post any links or really give details. Maybe I will find "it" in my searches. I see alot of things. :) BTW I deleted your post. So for now the rumor lies with you. And yes, things can turn. Nature of the beast.
Yahoo was stupid. Should have taken the money.
In my opinion.

Okey, now Im confused. Give me something to go on this Steve S. (last name) rumor. Link or something. I think people are buying shares (and this is just my personal opinion) because: Platinum has alot of things happening here within the next few months. I expect a blitzcrig of PRs on Comicbook Challenge, which will get people excited. They didnt have a stock last year so maybe people will buy. Convention this month. We have 2 movie options confirmed, 2 worldwide distribution on books, and 1 rumor that we squashed by proving it fact (waiting on Platinum to say yes). Splastk should be a major player here shortly with new updated videos (hint hint) and new movies in the pipeline (ie. witchblade 2009) and in future contracts. When we look at this, Im surprised there is not more people here reading all this good D&D and buying more.

Since we all love free, let me add this link.

irony, sorry, I misunderstood your post then. Ill take a look at this stock. Im still watching pown.pk as these guys bitch over there about Stan Lee and his lack of financials and information to the investors. Platinum has way more going for it, but it does look like they will be doing comic movies eventually over there.
Just my opinion.

This is probally a Brian question. I dont know, but I would assume that if the person is really good and talented, Platinum could probally hire the artist as the need develops. They have already seen the talent and the number is probally on file already. I think I have seen a comment on Platinum hiring some artists that were finalists. Heck, the bottom 5 of American idol get contracts. Why cant these people.
Just a thought.
You have your own business? Good for you. Dont think I could park cars. Thanks for thinking of me though.
MM
Heres one that could be called "WTF".
Somebody is loading a bunch of 2006 Comic Book Challenge Videos on Youtube (sorted by added). 2 years ago????. Comeon, Load the 2007 stuff in there if you feel the need. Or better yet the latest.
