Could it be Steve S. taking on a role as a director in the company and running his own film division? We wont know what happens until we get names and why. This is all rumor, speculation, fun of course.

Just for clarity: I start off with old material then show you the new stuff, well not really new, but you have to have a good eye to spot it.
BTW: I contacted "Al Newman" on the development of the "Killing Demons" Film. His response 3 words only: "Still in Development".
Platinum abducts UFO mag for films, comics, games.
Friday, June 18th, 2004 0
UFO Magazine: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Platinum Studios, the comic book company that moved into film production with Men in Black and the upcoming Cowboys and Aliens, has entered into an exclusive deal with UFO Magazine to develop the publication's extensive library for feature films, video games and comic books.
The deal encompasses more than two decades' worth of content related to UFOs and unexplained phenomena. The first two projects acquired under the deal will be developed as both feature films and graphic novels.
Based on a story by Scott O. Brown, "Escape Velocity" is a present-day action-adventure in the vein of "The Fugitive" about a reporter and a pilot who steal a working alien spacecraft recovered by the Air Force. The second project, "Hive," based on a story by Andrew Foley, is a thriller in the vein of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" about a woman attempting to escape from a mysterious cult.
http://www.movieweb.com/news/33/4233.php
It provides a vast resource for writers to draw from, and Platinum plans a range of online and print comics based on UFO material, beginning in 2008. The stories will encompass a variety of genres beyond just science fiction.

I just saw a TV promo on SCI-FI. It is about a guy that travels through parallel universes. Sounds familiar. Just like "Unique". We will see how good it does and if people like this kind of TV show. Looks like they do. Some good reviews on the web. Could be really good news for Platinum if Disney would hurry up and get "Unique" the movie out. Wonder if we could do our own mini-series on TV while we wait for them. Dont want to lose the momentum.
just my opinion as usual.
Airs Next: SciFi at Friday 20th 8:00 PM
"While on a hunt for a woman with no identity, Detective Charlie Jade is shot into a strange parallel universe (Betaverse) when a facility that he is investigating explodes."
Charlie is from Alphaverse, a dystopian universe that is ruled by five mega corporations. Betaverse, the universe Charlie is initially sent to, corresponds to "our" reality. But there's a third universe, the Gammaverse, an apparent Utopia that has an abundance of natural resources that Vex-Cor (one of the Alphaverse mega-corps) would like to exploit.
Charlie Jade was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa and produced by CHUM Television and the South African Industrial Development Corporation.

I think you are right. We still need to get more publicity too. That is happening but takes time. I expect more good things to happen if we keep moving at this rate. 4 months into a public company and already 6+ deals announced. Where will we be in a year?
I might have something here, as usual a Rumor until confirmed. Since I cant find a date, but it came up in my searches for 2008, I thought Id post it. No other info available.

Platinum Studios & Vanguard Comics Team for 'Illegal Aliens'From bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news
5 June 2008 11:45 PM, PDT
A rather unique joint venture has happened today. Rather than acquiring the film rights to a comic book film, Platinum Studios and Vanguard Animations are going to make their own comic publisher. From the newly formed Vanguard Comics they will adapt a film from whatever is created. To kick off this venture they are going to begin with Kevin MacDougall's Illegal Aliens. The comic is about a skeptical tabloid reporter sent to a Texas border town to investigate cattle mutilations. The reporter uncovers stories of the chupacabra monster.
They will simultaneously release this as a comic book and a feature film. According to Variety the studio hopes to turn this into a franchise. It would be interesting to see a feature film in which a tabloid reporter runs across different "cryptozoology" creatures like Sasquatch, the Jersey Devil, etc. We'll have to wait and see how this turns out.

PDOS: "Shrek" Producer John H. Williams and Platinum Studios, Inc. Create Comic Book Imprint: Vanguard Comics
Friday June 6, 6:00 am ET
The New Imprint is Looking for Fantastic Worlds and Great Characters.
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Platinum Studios, Inc. (OTCBB:PDOS - News), an entertainment company that controls an international library of more than 5,600 comic book characters which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media and Vanguard Animation, the film production entity created by the producer of the Shrek franchise, announced the creation of a new comic book imprint called Vanguard Comics. Vanguard Animation is 30% owned by Starz Media, LLC, which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation that is attributed to Liberty Capital Corp (NASDAQ:LCAPA - News)(NASDAQ:LCAPB - News).
This co-run imprint, which began life when Platinum Studios Chairman and CEO, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, invited Vanguard Animation Chairman, John H. Williams, to be a judge at last year’s Comic Book Challenge™ (www.ComicBookChallenge.com), enables Vanguard Animation to develop properties that can simultaneously launch as comic books or graphic novels and as feature films.
The venture has acquired its first property, “Illegal Aliens”, which was one of the Top 50 finalists in last year’s Comic Book Challenge™. The story concerns a skeptical tabloid news reporter sent down to a border town in Texas to investigate cattle mutilations. The reporter inadvertently taps into a myth that dates back to Mayan times: the terrifying, primeval Chupacabra monster.
A film version of the project is being developed simultaneously.
“When Scott asked me to be a part of The Comic Book Challenge™, I thought that it would be a great way to hear story concepts,” said Williams. “Scott and I both immediately agreed that ‘Illegal Aliens’, which is a full throttle horror thriller in the spirit of Aliens and Predator, had franchise potential.”
Added Vanguard’s Williams: “Out of that enthusiasm, was born Vanguard Comics, where fantastical worlds are grounded in great character based dramatic-action story telling."
“When I asked John to be a part of last year’s Comic Book Challenge™, I was hoping that something like this would come out of it,” said Platinum Studios’ Rosenberg.
‘Illegal Aliens’ was created by Kevin MacDougall, a freelance illustrator, who has done comic book work and commercial art for many companies over the past 12 years. He currently lives in Mooseheart, IL.
Submissions for The 2008 Comic Book Challenge™ close on June 14, 2008.

Brian, Im a little bit confused by this PR. What does the term imprint mean to you, like a side business? Is this an aquire, a partnership or just a working with? "So Vanguard Animation can develop properties that can simultaneously launch as comic books or graphic novels and as feature films". Does that mean that the film "Illegal Aliens is co-produced with us? It sounds like you are. So this is a new film to include in Platinums continuing library of films? Vanguard does not have Platinum listed on their website. Just got to know where to stick this thing "acquiring properties or milestone".

NEW INVESTOR ANALYST COVERING PLATINUM STUDIOS
Internet investment analyst Roland Perry has begun covering Platinum Studios in his popular online newsletter, "Hollywood Stock Review Online." Here's an excerpt from the latest newsletter, featuring the news on our recently-announced deal with Valhalla Motion Pictures:
Platinum Studios (PDOS) Announces Deal to Co-Develop and Produce a Feature Film with Powerful Hollywood Producer.*
Lot's of companies in Hollywood announce that they are going to produce a feature film. Most go direct to DVD, many more don't even get that far. So merely announcing that your making a film, isn't all that big of a deal in itself. We're on the same page as you, so don't stop reading yet.
Now...
How many times, if ever, do you see a publicly traded company whose shares sell for under a dollar, announce that they are "doing" the film with SAME producer who is also producing a film for another publicly traded company whose shares are selling for over $30, are listed on the NYSE and have a market value of $2.7 billion. Which is of course Marvel Entertainment (NYSE: MVL) and which just so coincidentally -- also got its start in animation (i.e. Marvel Comics).
10 year Marvel Chart: http://tinyurl.com/5gwdr7
Well that's exactly what Platinum Studios just announced.
The producer is Gale Anne Hurd, who is right now (and has been for 20 years) your genuine "powerful" Hollywood producer. It starts in 1984 with "Terminator" which she also co-wrote with James Cameron. Then she did "Aliens" two years later. Then the "Abyss" in 1989 and the Terminator 2 and Terminator 3 (3 alone did $420 million) and in fact she had 2 films in 2003 which together grossed $660 million -- and it just doesn't stop. She next did the first "The Hulk" which did $240 million for Universal (NYSE:GE) and Marvel and now she's doing the follow up.
"All praise, Gale Anne Hurd."
The Incredible Hulk: http://incrediblehulk.marvel.com/
Really, how often does a publicly-traded company whose shares sell for under a dollar, get to team up with someone of that stature? How do you even get someone like her on the phone? Isn't she aware their stock is trading on the bulletin board?
Of course she (and her team of legal advisers) are. So our point is, "just imagine the possibilities." Where might this stock be in a few years ?
Whatever it is you're thinking about the "reputation" of Platinum Studios (PDOS) in Hollywood, which is primarily based on its having a $0.15 stock -- just toss those thoughts right out the window. These people have reputation for miles.
And one other item. We've mentioned before that Platinum has a library of 5600 "items" which they can exploit. The deal with Gale Anne Hurd is called "Final Orbit." Final Orbit is a "soon-to-be-published" action thriller comic and the graphic novel isn't even slated for release by Platinum Studios Comics until early 2009. How did they pull that off?
Now of course, you never know "if" something that is announced will be produced, will actually get produced (getting the actors, getting the financing etc). But you tell us, what are the odds with Gale Anne producing ? Someone who has done more than two dozen feature films, that have generated billions of dollars of revenue. Bets anyone?
And in case you missed it, while they are working on the above, they are also working on Unique, Atlantis Rising, Cowboys and Aliens, Dead of Night and Witchblade -- and all with major motion picture companies:
"Platinum Studios' film and TV division has other properties in development at major film studios, including "Unique" at Walt Disney Pictures (NYSE: DIS) with "Harry Potter" producer David Heyman, "Atlantis Rising" at DreamWorks with Kurtzman/Orci ("Transformers") and "Cowboys and Aliens," written by "Iron Man" screenwriters Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby, also at Dreamworks in association with Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Platinum Studios also recently announced it's partnering with Hyde Park Entertainment to co-produce "Dead of Night," based on the beloved Italian comic book series, Dylan Dog and a partnership with Top Cow Productions and Arclight Films to co-produce Witchblade, based on the best-selling independent comic book title."
It's like wow...these folks are busy (and wow, who's better than us)!

I guess people cant wait. Even with all the information we give here, it is not enough for some. They want instant gratification. This is not a quick in and out stock. Some enjoy taking a big gamble to try to get in lower, or just selling for cash, who knows. I honestly dont think we have even started going here in my opinion. We have not seen the PR stating who will be the judges and sponsors for the CBC yet. That is one PR that will be exciting, again in my opinion.

PDOS: Gale Anne Hurd's Valhalla Motion Pictures and Platinum Studios Partner to Bring ''Final Orbit'' to the Big Screen
Tuesday June 3, 4:26 pm ET
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Motion Pictures, producer of Marvel Studios’ (NYSE: MVL - News) Summer release The Incredible Hulk, and Platinum Studios, Inc. (OTCBB: PDOS - News), an entertainment company that controls an international library of more than 5,600 comic book characters which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media, today announced a deal to co-develop and produce a feature film based on the soon-to-be-published action thriller comic book Final Orbit. The graphic novel is slated for release by Platinum Studios Comics in early 2009.
Final Orbit tells the story of some lottery winners who are vacationing on the International Space Station but when it is damaged, the vacation becomes a nightmare, trapping the tourists alone in a crippled module with no astronauts to help them.
Hurd and Platinum Studios’ Chairman and CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg are set to produce. Former Universal Pictures’ senior executive, Randy Greenberg, of The Greenberg Group, will executive produce. Gary Ventimiglia, President of Production at Valhalla Motion Pictures, will co-produce.
“Final Orbit has all of the classic cat-and-mouse, edge-of-your-seat elements to be a fantastic white-knuckle thriller,” said Hurd, Chairman of Valhalla Motion Pictures. “Being able to develop the motion picture alongside the comic book allows for the cross pollination of creative ideas that benefit both avenues.”
“I believe that Gale has the unique sensibility to pull out the core essence of these comic characters and events to make an extremely satisfying and entertaining motion picture,” said Platinum Studios’ Rosenberg.
Gale Anne Hurd and Valhalla Motion Pictures most recently produced the highly anticipated The Incredible Hulk for Marvel Studios (NYSE: MVL - News) which is being released by Universal Pictures (NYSE: GE - News) on June 13. Valhalla is continually developing a broad range of projects and recently wrapped Marvel’s Punisher: War Zone for Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF - News) and Sony Pictures Entertainment (NYSE: SNE - News). Hurd has produced more than two dozen feature films that have generated billions of dollars of revenue. Her other credits include The Terminator, Aliens, Armageddon, Aeon Flux, The Punisher, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines among others.
Platinum Studios’ film and TV division has other properties in development at major film studios, including Unique at Walt Disney Pictures (NYSE: DIS - News) with “Harry Potter” producer David Heyman, Atlantis Rising at DreamWorks with Kurtzman/Orci (“Transformers”) and Cowboys and Aliens, written by “Iron Man” screenwriters Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby, also at Dreamworks in association with Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. YEA, this is a good thing. I was reading they already rewrote the script twice and still no actors announced. Looks like this baby is all Top Cow. They should snip his ***** for putting up all this misleading info on Platinum. Someone has to go in a fix these sites. Bad info in equils bad data out.

Remember what I said "rattle the cages.". Im glad to see Platinum had a talk with Gayle Hurd about working on the Magdalena Movie. Back in production.
Hurd Has Faith In Magdalena
from the producer of Hulk and Punisher...
June 2nd 2008 12:36pm | Posted by: Michael Stevens, HNR Senior Editor
Producers Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, chairman of Platinum Studios and Gale Anne "Hulk" Hurd, founder of Valhalla Motion Pictures continue to develop Top Cow's 'spiritually themed' comic book series Magdalena as a feature film.
Kevin "Alone" Taft is writing the screenplay, focusing on a young woman named 'Patience' who discovers she is part of a lineage of female warriors descended from biblical 'Mary Magdalene'.
The film's present-day action-adventure storyline is being compared to The Da Vinci Code by author Dan Brown.
"Magdalena is exactly the kind of project we love," said Hurd.
"A strong female lead character, a story with rich mythology, and compelling characters ... The religious overtone adds a new dimension to the adventure story ..."
Magdalena the comic book series has been translated into 26 languages in 55 countries.

Platinum Studios Preps Final Orbit Comic for Big Screen
By Nix | June 2, 2008 (10:38 am) | More: Final Orbit (2009) Movie, Sci-Fi Movie News ShareThis
It still amazes me that Hollywood is willing to pay buckets of money to buy movie rights to make movies based on comic books that haven’t even been published yet. Isn’t that kind of like buying stock in a company that hasn’t even gone public yet? Shouldn’t you wait to see if the comic does well and develops a fanbase? Eh, who am I kidding, Hollywood has never been that logical. In any case, Platinum Studios has teamed up with Valhalla Motion Pictures to bring the as-yet-unpublished (it’s due to be published next year) comic book “Final Orbit” to the big screen.
Variety has more about the comics and its storyline:
“Final Orbit,” which will be published by Platinum Studios Comics early next year, tells the story of a lottery that gives thrill-seekers a chance to vacation aboard a newly completed International Space Station. But the trips turns nightmarish after the station is damaged, trapping tourists in a crippled module with no trained astronauts to help them.
Don’t you hate it when that happens?
Russell Gewirtz has been tapped to write the script. His previous credits include “Inside Man” for Spike Lee and the upcoming Robert De Niro-Al Pacino cop flick “Righteous Kill”. Gale Anne Hurd is the head honcho of Valhalla, and if you don’t know the name Gale Anne Hurd, then you just aren’t a real sci-fi fan.
A sample concept art from the unfinished comic below. Find more here:

Another film in the works? Coming in 2009?

The world is in peril when Bonesaw (2009) and other demonic characters from a woman's hit fantasy horror novels look set to actually enter reality. This will be computer generated film, so it will be interesting to see what animation technique they adopt. It should be visually impressive.
