I just checked the Archlightfilms site and found their Witchblade page. They say they have a demo but no access to us. I would love to see that. Bet they know who the actress is and they put Everett De Roche as a writer even though Top Cow hasnt confirmed it yet. IMO

Your right, Im bad. Exec producer. I dont know either if anything is in production. Dylan Dog could start as late as sept, and Witchblade, well I dont see that starting this year. Still no actress picked yet for it. Maybe Magdalana could be next year, as Gayle Ann promised some video for Comic con next year. It seems to be farther along. Not sure if its up to Platinum to speed things up movie wise or even if they can. I would love to see platinum close the year with a movie but I dont think it will happen. But who knows. I think there is some films on the hiatus/inactive lists. If there already made, I wonder if we could get those optioned back and to DVD maybe. Even a cartoon would be good and maybe get it on Cartoon network or something and sell it. All IMO.

Lets hope they get some sort of financing deal so that were not looking at a 30 million debt by next year. That should hold off the debters from the door. The good point is if 1 movie comes out in 2009 and it is even a quarter as good as Batman or Ironman, the debt should be gone. Lets hope Dreamworks is still going to make the movies they bought even if Speilberg is not directing. I dont think we will know this one until Speilberg leaves, or he could still be under contract to make these movies anyway. Who knows.
Just My Opinion

I guess I'll let you guys figure this one out. Not sure if this is Platinum. If so, looks like something going on in NY. Maybe there just doing some kind of artwork?

I'd go for that, not the stock deal though, but the food aspect. Personally, Id like to see C&A on a cereal box, including toy inside, cookies deals, gummy candies, etc. You know your playing in the big league when you got product placement in foods. Look how Marvel put spiderman everywhere. If Platinum wants to compete, they need to start calling around and striking these deals for food, playing cards, other marketing aspects other than Action figures and Games. I wouldnt be surprised if something is already in the works with C&A at the least. IMO

I didnt see anything as a surprise in there. Of course, I did a quick scan, looking for specific things, so I could have missed something.

Interesting article. Give this a thought when you negotiate your next movie. Maybe Gayle could do Final Orbit in 3D. Now that would be cool.

This isn't your grandfather's 3-D. The system is higher-tech and doesn't leave you with a headache. Most importantly for the theaters and the studios they split their revenues with, 3-D showings can earn up to five times more per screen than 2-D films. The experience is so compelling theaters can pack their 3-D showings and charge a couple of dollars more per ticket. And with home theaters more luxurious and high-tech than ever, the 3-D experience is something that can't be recreated at home, giving moviegoers good reason to make the trip to a theater.
* Good for DVD sales too IMO- MM

I thought Irony ment the opposite of its literal meaning? If you choose the suckees, even though you really could be chosing the winners, then the winners could turn out to be the suckees or vice a versa. Now thats irony. Pick something. Its your right. One vote doesnt make a difference, unless your Kevin Costner in his new movie. Ba Dum Dum

Well, we will know in a month or two if its a done deal and they start making announcements. IMO Its all just a waiting game now. Did you vote already. The voting boxes are now active. Still looking for the PR so people can start voting. Not everyone reads this site to get some of the latest dirt.

Your not talking about the pre-business venture (under the existing name)right? Wonder if those will be delayed now?
Now thats pretty cool. Lets hope they choose Platinum as a first look contact and since they have to build their movie inventory, choose a bunch of films from Platinums library. IMO
I watched them all already. There is a few good ones that could become some really good movies, that one included. JMO

New Hollywood Film Casts Old West Cowboys as ‘Imperialists’
http://www.therealitycheck.org/2008/06/19/new-hollywood-film-casts-old-west-cowboys-as-imperialists/
Whoops, found the official confirmation for RDJ.
http://www.ez-entertainment.net/blog/?p=441
But there’s been actual confirmation is that he’s in final negotiations to star in DreamWorks/Universal’s sci-fi western, Cowboys Vs Aliens.
In the Old West, a battle in Silver City, Arizona, between Apaches and Western settlers, including a former gunslinger named Zeke Jackson, is rudely interrupted when an alien spaceship crashlands. And its occupants are less-than-friendly, prompting the earthlings to set aside their differences and send those critters back to space. Downey will play Zeke Jackson.

A Dylan Dog fan club. IMO, we should at least get up the web site promo for the movie. This could be as big as any of the other movies.
MM
http://www.one-desire.org/dylan/fanlist.php
Dylan Dog has been up for adaptation for what seems like forever. Michele Saovi was once going to helm a Dylan Dog film before he changed the story up a bit and made Cemetery Man. So finally years later the film is finally coming together with Kevin Munroe at the helm with scribes Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly. Not to mention up and comer Brandon Routh (Superman).
Screen Daily today gave us a little sneek peak at some of the plot and they also have learned that the film will move the setting from London to New York. Dylan Dog is forced back into his nightmare investigations after he is approached by a woman who claims to have seen her father brutally murdered by a mysterious creature. With his street smart, his gun and a set of paranormal weapons, Dylan attempts to restore order both above and below ground.
In the U.S. the movie will be called Dead of Night while everywhere else the film will be sold as Dylan Dog. It makes sense since the comic is much more popular overseas than it ever was in North America. The original comic created by Tiziano Sclavi, “Dylan Dog” was first published in 1986 and has been translated into 17 languages. Platinum Studios and Hyde Park will produce.
http://www.palaceofhorror.com/2008/07/20/dead-of-night-plot-details/
Remember this: On 6 June 2008 Platinum Studios Inc (OTCBB:PDOS) and Vanguard Animation, the film production entity created by the producer of the Shrek franchise, introduced a new comic book imprint called Vanguard Comics.
Could this be it? Coming soon.

Possible Back-to-Back Shoot For 'Witchblade'?
Thursday, July 31, 2008
We halfway confirmed some interesting news that landed in our laps at the San Diego Comic Con. We learned that Top Cow and Arclight are already planning a sequel to their adaptation of Witchblade, with the possibilities of the two films being shot back-to-back. The news comes from the same scooper who tipped us off months ago that Michael Rymer would be directing the film that centers on an ornate jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives extraordinary powers to the wearer, a specially chosen female from each generation. We confirmed sequel plans, but weren't able to get any official comment on the back-to-back shoot. More when it comes in.

Brian, if RDJ has signed on to the Cowboys and Aliens project, and not just thinking about it as previously reported, there is a difference, would that not be good for a PR. That would be major news in the Hollywood community. It would get picked up on some good news stations IMO. Nice pick up on the new sponsor for Wowio.
Lets hope for another high volume day. Update on money TV this morning. Around middle of clip. New info Wowio, RDJ did sign on for C&A?

I was wondering why such volume today. Could also be the writeup?
Is this us? If you click the link, it kind of goes back to Platinum studios press release but the PR says a Japanese company. Confusing?
http://akumagoro.wordpress.com/2008/08/05/publishers-rule-videogame-universe/
Bungie’s groundbreaking declaration of independence from Microsoft last year is one of a few recent signs that the situation may be changing. The past year also has seen a group of well-respected Japanese developers form their own company, Platinum Studios, and land a multigame deal with Sega. Ken Levine, head of the Take-Two-owned studio that made last year’s smash “BioShock,” is renegotiating what could be a lucrative contract with the help of reps at CAA.
OT- Since these guys are looking for Asian Films to buy, looks like they have money buring a hole in their pockets, and Platinum picked them up as a sponsor for CBC, who's to say we cant sell them "the weapon" as a feature film or one of our other asian comics to film. Just a observation.

Reader Submitted Micro-Cap Idea - Platinum Studios (PDOS)
Filed under: General— MicroCapPress Editor @ 9:36 am
Continuing to work through a series of reader-submitted micro cap trading ideas, today we’ll submit Platinum Studios (PDOS) for consideration.
Platinum Studios is an entertainment company that specializes in developing and adapting comics and graphic novel content to feature films, television, animation, games, mobile wireless, gaming, merchandising, and other media. Their comic characters make up the largest library in the world, which contains more than 5,622 characters.
Some of their feature films will include: “Cowboys and Aliens” & “Atlantis Rising” (by Dreamworks), “Dylan Dog”, “Witchblade”, and “Unique” by Disney. Scott Rosenberg (who sold Men in Black to Sony) is the CEO.
Working with leading companies in the entertainment and new media sectors, Platinum Studios is emerging as one of the front-runners in the creation of new content across ALL media platforms. The comparison being made most often is to Marvel Entertainment (MVL), which started out as comic book company. In only a couple of decades though, Marvel has become an entertainment company…to say the least. By the way, Marvel’s stock is only worth about nine times what is was a decade ago.
Platinum’s learning curve may not even be that long, since many of the special effects and movie technology advancements have only been made on the last six years or so. Toss in the fact that Platinum has an even larger library than Marvel, and it makes you wonder where it could all go.
The only pitfall the editorial staff of the Micro Cap Press sees is this…even though the library of comic characters is bigger than Marvel’s, there’s no real ’star power’. Marvel’s Hulk, Spider-Man, and X-Men were all established heroes known pretty much to everyone. Platinum will have to make their heroes a household name to get as much traction…..maybe.
The counter-argument is a good one - the people working on Platinum’s films right now have successfully launched ‘new’ character franchises before.
The name ’Gale Anne Hurd’ may or may not ring a bell with you, but the three ”Terminator” movies are recognized by pretty much everyone. Guess who turned those nothing ideas into the Terminator franchise? It was Gale Ann Hurd.
And Gale’s done more than that. It only started in 1984 with “Terminator”, which she also co-wrote with James Cameron. She did “Aliens” two years later. “The Abyss” followed in 1989, and then “Terminator 2″ and “Terminator 3″ (3 alone did $420 million) after that. She also did the first “The Hulk”.
So what? Well, Gale’s now teamed up with Platinum on some of the films-in-the-works we mentioned at the onset.
We don’t really know where that’ll go. Perhaps nowhere. Or, perhaps Platinum’s sitting on the next Terminator-like franchise. We just don’t know. With all the good company Platinum is keeping though, we have no problem directing your attention their way.
