Dew - Another great article
However because I don't understand medical implications I was wondering about the US (FDA) response. I did not see any new requirement just the ones already know, is this correct? I believe it was a restatement of what GTC already knew they had to prove.
That's, “We would really need assurance that the animals aren’t infected with any kind of prion disease,” and so on, the four conditions.
OKY Thank you in advance

Ok OK never mind!
PS: 70 Billion pulled from the files in my waist basket, close I bet, close.
When buy orders don't cover of course that means no sellers at that price (or few)
You are stealing the stock at $1.20. Good for you

We all have visions of sugarplums dancing in our heads. I have been with GTC for over a year and every time someone brings up future development its treated as an aside. Your right its not put into the equation.
I notice two attitudes, well three:
1. ATryn took so long please don't confuse me with what could
possibly be I see nothing else being developed!
2. Every trial for every drug (protein) will take years. So
who likes to talk about company value in 2011.
3. There is a three but they don't live long on this
board, "Where rich, GTC will be at $50 BY Christmas" the
answer always comes back, yeah "of what year". LOL
I'm an older guy and wonder if I will ever see explosive growth. I mean will I ever see $50. Possible (Im not that old) but you get the idea.

LOL I'm and old main frame programmer.
Anyway computer software for banking at home depends on what you need. A simple check register there all good.
If your taking care of estates with multiple bank accounts and all other assets you got the wrong guy. You need someone who uses these software packages to tell you specifically what each package is good for, what it has problems with, and also what it does not handle, or handles clumsily.
Knowing PCs even is not enough, you need a person who uses the software. You can look on line for reviews of the software. If Amazon sells the packages there will be customer reviews when looking up the product on their site.
Good Luck

Great response, but most of all it helped clarify the whole process. I now after being invested for 1 1/2 years feel I have a clue. Just a clue, but it feels great.
LOL OKY
PS: I know yours was a response to the possibility of two products but it contained a great explanation of the process.

Maybe I should read these posts backwards. In some ways makes more sense.
Well glad to see that although I'm not Medical, I can figure. Its all the math and programming I took. LOL

"I had also been curious to know if a goat could carry more than one drug at the same time"
I don't know but then wouldn't you have to prove you have extracted the proper drug (the one on the label) to within some degree of purity say 99.9999% or something, that may be the problem.
Good question
jessellivermore -
I am full of hope and love for the new biology. I'm 63 and now I think I'll go into Bio Tech LOL.
Not being sarcastic, trying to be funny. I really felt your passion and got another glimpse. I'm deeply touched by your effort to communicate with me. You where very successful.
I realize now that science is so advanced to me I can only skim its surface, how interesting.
Thank you again
jessellivermore
Very helpful, not that I understood it all but it had a lot I did understand. A shocker, "Therapeutic proteins are complex organic molecules much too large to be produced in a chem lab"
Did I know proteins could be manufactured, nooo, this makes much of what I've read make much more sense. I know, I know, second year biology for you (maybe first) but I was never in those courses. Dull math, electronics, computer programming.
Thank you, this has shed some light
Hi "Did you see Dew's last post?"
I see without seeing maybe because I'm Dyslexic, maybe its natural for someone who does not have a medical background.
Words like this confuse me, "like ProCrit (EPO), Genotropin (HGH), Lantus (insulin), Byetta (incretin mimetic)"
Words like this I can get my poor brain around.
"Most of these also are natural in the body"
also understandable,
"A substance that is made from a living organism or its products and is used in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of cancer and other diseases."
From those simple statements I have a better understanding and I thank you. I appreciate your effort because words like "interleukins" while they trip of your tongue like they where always there, a foreign to me.
Thank You
Hi - I'm trying to get clarification from you or anyone. ATryn is not a drug its a human protein grown in goats. Its used for blood clotting for people who are getting major operations and have problems with clotting.
Not only is the cost knocked down by a factor of 10 but ATryn runs no risk of sepsis which is a killer in some % of the cases where people are getting protein from human blood.
That much I can understand somewhat but:
It is my understanding that there is potentially a 'important' market of drugs being developed to use this technology. My problem is the explanations of how this technology is used is presented in BIO speak. My question is how will transgenics be used in conjunction with these drugs.
I need simple language like as a transport mechanism for the drug or whatever it is.
Can you explain to a lay man? I've accepted what many people have said with out really understanding!

"I don't expect a wholesale switch from the tried and true cell culture methodologies to transgenic production of proteins"
I believe you are correct however we are talking billions in sales here. Our problem is not getting all of them, but DO WE
HAVE to go through the entire approval path for each one, or after a time can different products be folded in. OK i don't know what folded in means, grouped together?
I don't believe GTC can do that, if they could then I'm going
out and buying a house in the country now, not to mention my retirement papers. Did I mention my retirement papers. LOL
OKY
I am very happy with the stock price action-
No I'm not crazy and I have decided not to post "TA"
here. Mostly because its meaningless to long term
investors unless your getting skittish about the price action.
This site seems to have the informed not overly impressed
with side issue crowd. The true investor types and not the
trading crowd.
Therefore my intuitive observations and charting skill has
little meaning, especially since so much news has come out
to upset the applecart and make "TA" look stupid.
Its enough to say for reasons of my own I think the current
action is encouraging and see a fall and rise of two to
three weeks before we take off.
Now Cox will announce some good news and everything I've
just said will fall apart. I just can't help myself. :)

jessellivermore and more -
I have re-though my expectations due to:
1. So many disappointments have driven certain types of
speculators away. Seen as “too hot to handle”, too
slow to develop.
2. HD market launch 2Q07
3. US approval mid-2008
4. Dilution of stock
All timing estimations supplied by Dew
I now expect $4.00 by Jan. ‘07’ and $12.00 by June ‘08’.
OKY - Of course IMO not "TA" but Gut

"I must confess to being amazed at the comatose reaction of the market to this monumental"
LOL, me also however I've seen bio tech companies on approval go down for a few weeks, then climb like hell.
I say we can't go down much but in a day to a month we will climb. Will we climb like hell, I'm not so sure, REVENUE.
Its better that way, if it goes up on speculation it always falls until the REVENUE starts coming in.
Case in point IMCL $42 prior approval goes down a month then climbs to $89 and drops to around $32 price earning 10. Why,
REVENUE seen stagnant right now.

Dew - Yippee but I think the rise in stock price will be slow,
sure but slow.
Congratulations all.

EXPRESSION OF DOMINANT NEGATIVE TRANSMEMBRANE RECEPTORS IN THE MILK OF TRANSGENIC ANIMALS
Is it significant!
Thank you DEW

I better buckle down for a long rest.

DEW Than You
Now I understand, fast track does not apply but priority review does. There does not seem to be a humanitarian consideration either (well there is as you have pointed out, “Thrombate is rarely available" and we should not forget the risk of Sepsis) this must be considered.
Lets hope the FDA is not myopic on this one, lets hope the insurance companies get on the bandwagon (ATryn is far cheaper and carries far less risk). The need (or urgency) may be the drawback as it all depends on their perception, they will have to consider Sepsis. As you are well aware Sepsis is often life-threatening, especially in people with a weakened immune system or other medical illnesses.
lancecraft
There is so much good news surrounding this stock. My main fear was answered by PHARMING mostly.
If they have fast track IM not saying we will, we could, but if we do or don't, we are pretty assured this technology is accepted in the US.
But just for once I'd like to hit it big overnight, I can celebrate sooner and longer. LOL
PS and I can stop answering questions from my family, like why isn't it going up now, and are you sure it will be accepted in the US, and so on.

Jessellivermore
I have to say although your post did not deal with issues (maybe in a general way) I found it to be very upbeat.
There are few posts that get me to smile but yours did. Yes I think GTC has had a turn of fortune.
Not to be crass however, but I would now like to see it turn into a stockholders reward. Not that the year and 1/2 I've waited is anywhere near as long as some stockholders have waited, but it sure would be nice. :)
Somehow I'm getting the feeling GTC has been to the well to many times and we may not see more than little reward till the revenue flows. We will see thats only opinion.
OKY
Thank you Dew, I was surprised when he called me back. There was more I could have asked and I'm sure my account is only 95% accurate.
I told him I was posting what he said and we laughed because
he has had experience with that. You know, the game
"telephone". :)
OKY
I called Tom Newberry
The deal was already done it was signed, there was never any
doubt, the offering was never to be withdrawn. There will be
no news article because its already announced to be done.
He said it was done because cash was tight regardless of what
people might say on the board. There are expenses involved
with European approval. Cash spot markets are drying up,
money (investment money) is drying up. There are Geopolitical
reasons and Bio tech money in general is getting harder to get.
There are things in the offing that they have put on the shelf
because cash is tight. Not to say that any of them will be
revived in the near future but now one or two is possible.
I asked why not wait ill the price was better, he said they are
not in the speculation business. the money was there now, they
need it now and who knows about the future.
As best as I can remember!
OKY
FLOBLU
Thank You and don't worry I'm not selling, LOL just blowing off some steam. The steam was engendered by attitude more than by anything else.
This is still a gem of a company, and I still expect great things in 5 years time, but alas (great * .6) LOL
Of course I can always buy more stock at this price but I will not go into the cookie money.
Take care OKY
PS: Oh engendered by the fact that Ive sold this company to
5 members of my family including my son and daughter. Thank God they all have a sense of humor.
I am shocked and dismayed at some of the longs here
Counting the stock giveaways from this year and last, stockholders now own 30-40% less than a year ago. Just sitting here minding our own business, then we are told, “what do you expect the management are not owners”. What does that mean? That is not an excuse for shafting owners. Management is hired by us to protect US, the owners.
“But they need money to survive and that protects owners”, true but can’t we expect them to do it in a more responsible manner. I really have to take umbrage with the flip way some of us are taking this as if it should be expected. Oh, and telling me most bio tech companies shaft there investors really does not make me feel good. The person who tells you if you don’t like it leave and the person who tells them they are a breath of fresh air really need to re-think who they are. You guys are shareholders and can expect a better deal then the one management is dishing out.
I have suggested that perhaps there is something wrong with the approval not because I am attacking management; I’m trying to give them a good reason for bad decisions.
A temporary need for money is resulting in a permanent loss of shareholder value. If this stock moves to $30.00 a share in ten years I will be out about $200,000 dollars. That’s me alone and the old shareholders, the ones who have supported the company till now will be out 1.5 billion dollars (admittedly all estimated). Yes, I know we can expect mis-steps, yes-small companies need money like blood to survive, but what’s with this cavalier attitude.
OKY Mad as hell and I’ll have to take more of this crap
FloBlu this is the afterlife
And he said the devil made them do it, they
where approached. These guys talked so fast
GTC had no other recourse but to put 20% of
the company into these guys hands, at bargain
prices yet???????????????????????????????????
I know because now they have cash for a year.
Sounds right to me, nooo! Waiting 5 weeks was
out of the question, had to go on vacation.
Posters have indicated that a 2% chance of being
turned down prompted this? So they would
have to act now. I say there is a 37.672%
chance that they are worried...why???
OKY IMO
I object
Over the last year we have seen a delusion of share price of
about 60% (I have not done the math is it more) and we keep being understanding. My projections of a $50 share price 5-10 years from now should now be $30.00.
Still a stunning return if it bears fruit. The question becomes will it. I have read all the posts that deal with the latest raising of capital and without pointing at who, I can not
believe on a 2% probability that GTC would not be accepted in
Europe that GTC would seek capitol at $1.38 just weeks before supposed good news. Perhaps, what I see as dumb is smart, and it is I who deserve the title. Some have posted bad management but these guys are just to smart so perhaps I need to back off.
I hate my negativity but there it is, unlike many posters I'm now thinking 2008 instead of 2007. Maybe its best if I don't
post any more. At least till approval if it comes Aug-Sept.
If it does come I can always blame my new bad attitude on the 100 degree weather we have had.
OKY IMO
"I am still having trouble figuring out why GTCB did the financing they did at this time'
Me too, unless they need the money today to build new facilities due to new business in the making. Even then if they just waited 5 weeks you would think they could get $1.50-$2.00
Just does not make sense. Its as if for one reason or another they expect to be at $1.38 till US approval. UUUGllly
I don't want to spin myself into the ground and I realize we really don't know anything and are scaring ourselves, but give me a break. We live in the web they spin.
It may just be better to stop looking, reading, and figuring for a year and then look back in. Of course if I did that last year I'd be looking back in now, to more borrowing, more questions, more aggravation.
No I'm not saying anything but I bought a ticket and I'm entitled.
OKY
Hi Dew,
With all due respect :) As I consider you far more knowledgeable about such things. I cant understand why you
think $5.00 would be a ridiculous offer at this time.
Would not they be paying for the future potential of the
company? Why would stockholders take less? OK fast buck,
but I think we belong at $3 - $4 now so $5 would not get
my vote.
I know you are a much deeper thinker than I and wonder if
you can elaborate on why you think $5 is to much at this
time? Perhaps you mean till the signing. Perhaps you are
thinking revenue over the next year but buyouts are usually
done based on 7 year projected revenue. Or am I drinking
to early in the day. LOL
OKY
Really, although you don't think so, and seem to think there is more, you said it all. This is a great opportunity for some company to buy GTCB out. You would expect offers. Its a matter of what will be offered. Do the officers of the company, and the owners want a fast buck or are they interested in a DNA. For this you would need in depth knowledge of who the owners are (majority stock holders) and how they think!
Impossible to answer your question but I'm sure there are real thinkers on the board who will add possible suitors.
Some have posted that at this time $10 - $12 would be interesting, but how they come to that number is anyones guess. A bigger question is would anyone offer that much?
OKY
Hi
I think this is a much better board, well now at least. As
I've been posting at YAHOO, it looks like we are about to
start up to higher resistance levels. The double bottom handle kind of adds to the cup and handle $3.25 is indicated. Of course this will take some time, perhaps several months but it looks good.
Anyway real long investors could care less and I really don't have anything "real" to contribute. Good luck to all.
OKY _ Thanks Dew
