I'm glad to see a guy like Perlmutter be committed to something, and pushing hard to get it done. But he's up against guys Like Rand Paul, which based on his comment, shows Paul remains a simple-minded toady - if he really wants to know why dems can't pass this is repubs also refuse to cross the aisle and back it, or work toward a bill that can pass (dems as well have some ownership in that divide too). We need a congress that looks beyond self-interest, party, and that isn't happening any time soon.
We are now a government where the party advancing a piece of legislation needs to have a complete lock on its own party members to pass it, little to no chance of bipartisan decisions from either side or a few folks crossing party lines to back a good bill.
Hopefully Perlmutter proves me wrong.
Right, those stressed margins are buying opportunities for SHWZ if they can get the numbers to work. And hovering on the TX border is a nice place to be.
The good news is opportunities abound. Arizona is a great choice, Oklahoma has a ton of dispensaries for the picking. Nevada only has about 40 dispensaries last I looked, so I doubt their next move is there, unless it's to get a toe in the door in Vegas. I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised since they'll make the right choice whatever it is.
Interesting that the SA article mentioned Florida. I don't think that's likely at all as a next move. Dye is very much on point with his plans, he wants to be regional, he'll be regional. It would take a really sweet plum to pull his gaze off that in my opinion and look out of the region.
volume today is impressive
spot on. and I don't believe that's the only state incorporating the social justice components. I'd settle for even safe banking right now, and if legalization occurred, more states could feel compelled to deal with their own incarcerated populations from a social justice perspective. The Dems need a win, the repubs know that and don't want to give it to them ahead of the midterms. I think safe banking passes only if the repubs take both houses, and they'd of course jettison any social justice provisions and probably legalization if they do take both houses. But we'd finally have something. In any case, not holding my breath.
I've seen a lot of items bungle all sorts of facts about stocks, miss key info. sorry I grabbed the first one I pulled back from the google search - I should have grabbed the PR itself.
I'm for the social justice aspects of the original bill but passing that in this congress isn't happening. to get anything done there needs to be compromise, and we have two sides unwilling to do that. ANY progress at the federal level at this point would be remarkable and encouraging to the sector.
1 for 3. I had 15k, now 5k
Thanks hoop - I think we're thinking along similar lines. I think 10 is also reachable this year, especially with whatever surprises Dye has up his sleeve. 50 in two post-passing? Maybe, I'd be happy with 40, and probably would have sold most but not all by then. Good luck to all in hoping in the next year or two we all hit our target numbers to start selling...
Could Schumer finally be waking up to the fact he can't go it alone on this? That would be nice. I hope it's not just posturing to appear bi-partisan and then not act in a bi-partisan way. Time will tell, I just hope I'm still alive when it does! Thanks for sharing this.
Hoop, you are far better at this sort of thing than me, so I wonder with the new shares being held in very strong hands, and SHWZ still with a relatively small amount of available shares for trading vs other MSOs, throw in a little exuberance as the ERs come in, my sense is you have some nice but relatively conservative projections? Trust me, I like conservative projections, makes me happier when they're exceeded, but was wondering about your thoughts on perhaps an upper range as well?
to get to nasdaq they did a 3 to 1.

been enjoying watching this claw its way back north. feeling a bit more content with my decision not to sell after the reverse split.
I as well would like to see some branding news, progress on biosciences division. I think the next ER may be as exciting as reading the latest Tom Clancy novel
nothing in my opinion. they are doing well without safe banking, without fed legalization, in fact, the lack of that may be a help in gaining regional success. I was only speaking to the fact that OTC is viewed as high risk and the ETFs would have a bit of explanation to do investing in OTC only stocks without being able to say, "Well, if MJ was legal, they could be on these higher level, more traditional exchanges like these in Canada..."
I would imagine it's the dual listing as you note. That provides a sense of "assurance" the stock can be on a better exchange if it weren't for US federal legislation. It's perhaps a way of culling the herd and cover their behinds in relation to those high risk stocks only on the Wild West of the OTC...
Precisely - NM President with great experience, Coca Cola? Loving that. This team only brings in quality leaders with excellent pedigrees.
this is very good news - thanks for sharing. The more this sort of Federal vs State idiocy gets exposed in more and more states the better, and that can lead to potentially real action rather than talk at the federal level or as you note, the courts can do congress' work for them to a point due to their continuing failure.
I'm sorry, i was multi tasking, the target was q3 2021. I can't remember if it was in drift or not. I'd need to look
i believe they are targeting Q3 for the Brow 2.

I was hoping for double this volume on this news today, glad I didn't make that prediction this morning as I'd have been dead wrong. Hopefully word will continue to spread.
Turtles do live a very long time so that is entirely possible...
Congress is broken. It no longer serves the purpose it was designed for. SHWZ will be okay whether they pass it or not, of course it will be better if they do, but as long as house and senate are split between dem and repub nothing will pass. It's all ensuring one side or the other gets credit, nothing to do with value provided to the citizenry. So if the repubs win the house and senate this will pass after the midterms in a watered down bill focusing only on the financial banking aspects (non-social / legal aspects being excluded).
If dems somehow gain both houses it will be the schumer bill, but that won't happen in the midterms. For MJ, it's better if the repubs win and safe will pass, McConnell will miraculously lose all objections when it's a pure republican win.
That's the current state of hypocrisy and self-serving nature of congress I'm afraid.
more proof management is on the ball. and we tick closer to the next ER with another acquisition now behind us. I wouldn't discount the possibility of a few mom and pops picked up as well in the near future - nothing too large to over-complicate this major acquisition's ingestion into the Schwazze world. Just to flesh out state coverage geographically.
An S-3 filing is utilized when a company wishes to raise capital, usually as a secondary offering after an initial public offering has already occurred. In order to utilize the simplified process, firms must first meet a certain set of eligibility criteria.

Could be a higher open on the day, will be interesting to see if it holds.
lately, my mood has been both a better predictor and emulator of the price swings in SHWZ... Still sitting back waiting on the March ER. The recent hires were another nice vote of confidence in Dye's vision. But like we've seen, news in and of itself is not moving this consistently. ER, profit, revenue growth, percentage of market, expansion and growth metrics will So we wait.
SGA up on the brands page on the shwz website

The federal representatives have proven to be cowards. Promises, no action. I thought that enough money would be in pot by now in their respective states to influence these guys, since that's what they listen to and react to. Must not be a big enough MJ PAC to get the job done.
So they sit, and let the states do the heavy lifting until it becomes inevitable or entirely meaningless to have fed laws when all but a few states have legalized. They won't take any perceived risk to do anything (not that there really is any), and the grid lock that wants no side to win keeps winning the day.
Never thought I'd miss the days when laws were ugly sausage making, now, the handle keeps getting cranked and no sausage comes out.
I think we agree - Albertsons did not just use the Albertson's name - it was a suite of brands that had resonance in the communities where they were located. Unless there's value in changing that name, keep it. As to what can get sold in that store, shwz is trying to build a selection of brand offerings (including their own) in those stores. As their core stores grow in prominence, it may make sense to shift names to the best rated, most popular, and shwz gets to choose how and when it's best to do that. Marketing is a bit limited - no Snoop Dog doing commercials for you at halftime at the Super Bowl (but then he's been an MJ commercial for years). When that becomes possible, look out. For now, whether a store uses star buds, emerald fields, smoking gun, schwazze, who cares as long as the customers know it, recognize it, and buy in it and buy the brands we sell.
For me it's a timeline and regulation issue. You are right, why erase the name of a business doing well with one the customers may not know? Keep it for now, build the house of brands. Down the road, when MJ is able to advertise to build brand recognition (currently they can't effectively), that's the time to build the single SHWZ or Starbuds brand when it can be legally marketed within and across states. IMHO
Geeze kids, your mother and I go away for a long weekend and during that time, we are nearly at war with Russia, market tanking into a bear market direction, SHWZ gets pummeled, MJ as an industry is in the toilet, the board is in dissension, Colorado sales at end of year sink, the fed govt plunges into complete and utter gridlock, and nobody watered the plants or brought in the mail...
Not liking the trend, but in terms of SHWZ, fundamentally, SHWZ's business from my perspective remains the same and nothing recently changes my outlook, but most definitely I'll be doing some shifting of other holdings to take advantage of new buying opportunities on the way down.
Otherwise, waiting on march and the ER. Same as before.
News as we've seen has not lately moved the stock. Progress in the ERs ultimately will. It's nice to see the stock gaining attention, those bits of evidence of licensing occurring, helps affirm progress is being made. But moves north? ERs. Trying not to sweat these cyclical, industry based dips too much, the fed waffling - as we've seen SHWZ can build and do well on its own.
me too. my round numbers kept asking to be rounder. I now have an exit strategy for a portion at specific price point that's a little lower than before to let then "free" shares ride. Not that any shares are ever free. it will just get me to a point where what I continue to hold is far lessr a worry until this is on a major exchange, even more solid. GLTA
picked up a little more at 1.63. I know I said I was not buying any more before, but I'm truly done now. I'll go back to waiting for the next ER.
The good news, volume picked up. The bad news, we went lower...
