With such a small float, do you think a split is in order? Or do you think that they will do another issuance? I guess they have to with Network 1's involvement
Like the comment about people dumping BTC to buy Bitumen. Admittedly, Bitumen has more real world uses than BTC. I didn't realize that the US has 90% of the asphalt roads. Is that how to interpret that?
Just can't wait for the NASDAQ listing
So then how come some investors are recommending holding onto Seadrill?
Like you said, I am confused. I am just trying to get the correct story
I am confused. Some reports say that the shareholders of Vantage are getting screwed, others say that they are doing well?
What about this article?
https://seekingalpha.com/article/3963667-vantage-drilling-international-vantage-drilling-company-need-know
Haha , ok fair enough. In 5 years I will remember to ask again. What would it take for you to exit Seadrill before 5 years?
I agree. We eventually do need a carbon neutral solution. Natural gas is a good transition to a carbon neutral fuel, but we do need a long term solution. Have you looked into https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_fluoride_thorium_reactor
You mean you don't think they will receive any of that $61 million promissory note?
So Vantage Drilling International received all of the drill ships and the former shareholders of VTGDF received a promissory note that may or note be repaid? So the shareholders of VTGDF were hustled? Is that how to interpret that?
WOW! I didn't realize it was that bad. What a hustle.
Like I've said before, CANNOT wait for that PR. Good advice: Baby steps first and let's not get ahead of ourselves. However, like you said, the potential move to NASDAQ is a good sign.
Yup! Can't wait for that PR. I have been adding to my position after I read that.
That's true. Though they could potentially pay off debt before that happens. But to be fair, debt is a much cheaper form of financing, so I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Well not to be morbid, but fair enough. Do you have an exit point for Seadrill?
Ok, and that is different from an asphalt refinery? Correct? The refinery refines the bitumen, then it is shipped to the asphalt plant where it is then mixed with aggregate?
Yeah I thought that would have been a great move too; especially if the rate of return on the assets was less than the interest cost of the debt. Also, reducing debt levels today, allows for increases in future borrowing if appropriate investments can be found. But maybe that is why we aren't the CFO of WFT.
Ah ok, that makes sense. So almost 22% of assets in cash? Not bad at all. That seems like a good position to be in ahead of Thursday's OPEC meeting.
The World of Asphalt 2018 would be a very good idea. I was reading an article today about airport runway construction and how it is many times more lucrative than highway construction. Maybe TVOG should look at repairing some runways when this infrastructure bill passes.
I admit I am not as familiar with TVOG as you are, but that is why I am here. I apologize if I offended you with my questions.
Wasn't the liquidation part of the bankruptcy? Maybe I am confused, but I certainly remember reading about their bankruptcy.
That is another reason I am happy to see coal go. It seems like such a waste of beautiful natural resources. While I will concede that underground mining is not as detrimental, natural gas is cheaper, cleaner, and does not destroy the land in the way that mountain top removal does.
Ah ok, that makes sense about disclosures. I didn't think about that.
What are your thoughts regarding their emergence from bankruptcy?
Holy cow! Did you guys see this??
Turner registered for NASDAQ
http://turnerventuregroup.com/2017/11/27/turner-obtains-nasdaq-system-approvals-cleared-public-disclosures/
Excellent news! I bet no one thought to buy that domain.
Ok, no worries. Thank you for your help.
What do you think the potential is?
Ok, so the companies/people that are receiving the preferred shares are earning them then?
That's true. Though I am also curious about other asphalt assets, not just tankers.
Hmmm...I would imagine both? Though, as I mentioned in another post, I am not sure how many independent asphalt refiners there are in the country. I would hazard a guess that it would probably be whole companies?
Oh I completely agree that this a good sign. It is also a very good sign that the auditors signed off on the !4 million in revenue.
It would be interesting if anyone had any estimates on the amount of asphalt that would be needed under an infrastructure plan.
Those are very good points. Thank you for clarifying.
An Investment Banker.
I am not trying to get into a fight, I just ask a lot of questions. I am not trying to offend anyone
That's what I was thinking: money in the bank! Really I was wondering if there was a technical reason why production is declining - depleting assets, poor engineering, etc., or if they were purposefully holding off on production.
Just to play devil's advocate, but do you think that oil will always be in demand? Yes, I agree it will be for the next couple of decades, but what about 100 years from now?
I wasn't thinking of trading on this, I was just wondering if there was a reason for such a movement? I was thinking that price might spike as we get into the heating season and natural gas consumption increases.
I apologize for disappointing you so much. I am not an I Banker so these are figures that I have read, but not being in the industry, can't speak first hand. Just wanted to start a discussion. LOL
Declining production, but increasing revenues and earnings? Is this a good sign or bad? I was thinking that the company may be holding off on production until prices go higher, but would like to know others' thoughts.
What do you think the reason for this historical move is?
RS?
