While everyone waits for long-awaited USA cannabis progress, the real money play (imo) for TILRAY is Germany.
If the Greens, with their pro-legalisation policy, enter a coalition government they could become the main power in Berlin, whether it is a right wing or left federal government.
The big holding power in Germany has been the conservative CDU/CSU, who folks believe will always be in government, but hey, the latest opinion polls are showing the Greens are now three percentage points ahead of the CDU/CSU bloc.
The Greens are currently at 26%, with the CDU/CSU at 23% in Germany (Europe's most industrialized country).
Middle-aged voters are now seeing the Greens as a stable (almost 'conservative') governing party.
German youth are turning Green.
Young people don’t see the Greens’ leader Annalena Baerbock’s lack of experience governing at the state level as a disadvantage.
Political scientist Oskar Niedermayer of Berlin’s Free University states Baerbock's alleged disadvantage could help her in the eyes of voters, who see her as embodying something “new” and “fresh” on the German political scene.
Latest polls show 62% of Germans believe a change of government would be a good idea from September's general election.
Also, the German Greens are toning down, maturing up, extreme policies are on the shelf, because young members want power, and less infighting.
If the Greens win big in September (like Trudeau in '15) then (imo): legalisation within 12 to 24 months.
Medical cannabis, now being held back by backward bureaucrats in Berlin, will flourish with a Green victory, sprinting production and distribution big time.
We are not just talking about 80m Germans. What Germany does the rest of Europe follows.... France, Holland, Spain, Italy, etc (but not the UK).
We are still talking about a population bigger than the USA... less politically divided than the US, more educated than the US, more sophisticated, with relevant wealth and disposable incomes... and a large demand already for cannabis.
This is why I have been adding TLRY... and will continue buying. IMO the medium / long term (2 - 5 years) Europe could be a bigger play than the USA, and TILRAY will become the biggest cannabis company in the world.
looks like the market might also be seeing this German play...
I have noticed you on the Canopy board pushing doom, pushing the black market...
yeah, I'm buying long here...
Legalisation will come very very slow to the UK, as both leading political parties are anti-cannabis and are content with the present prohibition...
We are all waiting on US legalisation news...
The big play for me will be Germany, where Tilray has a huge advantage ... Polls for Germany's autumn general election are showing a surge for the Greens that could give them the majority party in the next Berlin government... and the Greens want rec cannabis legalised... and no doubt medical will zoom...
I am thinking Tilray could hit blue skies double or treble from here...
Thanks, Funman.....
"Shares of Tilray are not in buy range. So TLRY stock is not a buy right now."
It must be me... I've been buying TLRY lately...
"What I want to do is take an industry that Canada was first to get to market and make sure we don't get left behind."

The number of older adults who use cannabis is on the rise, and some health experts are concerned.
