In the case of the family with the stolen vehicle for a small price they would have had their vehicle recovered.

Your right shipping companies with large items are looking to protect their goods which are easy to spot once stolen, your car keys maybe not so easy, think of what this will do for the auto industry alone, I have four vehicles and would love to have a tracker for all of them ,a family I know with six children recently had their suburban stolen and it was never recovered, probably somewhere in Mexico by now , could have been easily tracked with this technology.
