I quit TD a few years ago. We have the Big Five banks here (TD, BMO, CIBC, RBC, Scotiabank). I'm not much for banks when I see their astronomical profits. I went with Ques_rade. I've been very happy and they welcome American stock markets with no problem. In fact, I've gotten out of Canadian companies now except I'm keeping one Gold/Copper explorer.
