What the heck just happened!!! Congrats to everyone here. We all deserve it we've been through hell and back over the years. We just had a 20% day 100% 14 day return good lord!!! Canopy making green in more ways than one.
I caved and took 10% off the table. That is a drop in the bucket of my holdings. I'm the bullish of bulls going forward still. That's a down payment on another house and still holding 90% god bless Canopy.
This is insane! $11.50 lol didn't they lose money hold on to your hat
This stock price is completely unpredictable, the only thing you can do is hold on for dear life lol
Lol thanks! May the force be with us. Someone liked what they saw bid at 9.85 or I could be willing it up with my jedi mind tricks
Thank just got it too. I have to read sedar financials before I know what's going on, the NR doesn't really cover everything. I read on another board that Dundee raised their price target to $12 but no link so I don't believe it yet.

Beverage company? Is it Tinley? What are you guys reading the press releases? I don't see anything on Sedar yet.
Anyone have the conference call number handy my sub par googling can't seem to find it.
Conservative blue turned green, they know how to make money those conservatives.
The tax free account plus the dawn of prohibition ending is the best thing that has ever happened in my life. I feel the government is going to restrict the limits of the tax free account in the future it's too good to be true. They can even be passed down from generation to generation without paying taxes. I fully plan on my family never having to work another day in their life. I know in my family every tax free account is full to the brim with Canopy shares.
Yes, I held all my shares. It wasn't easy but I'm expecting them to be worth more even if the stock drops a bit before then. Honestly you'd think I'd be happy but I'm only happy after the market closes. Seeing swings of 50K plus up and down on a daily basis is nerve racking to say the least. I've thought long and hard about an exit strategy. Numbers, market psychology, my dollars are screaming sell but my math is telling me to sit tight. I don't want to get all starry-eyed and pull another dollarama here. Nothing has been announced yet, no legal sales have taken place, legislation has not been passed. Worst case scenario we feel some short term pain. I think this is the first stage of a 3 stage process that will play out. For the next year this stock is going to be very easy to move up I think the big money will push this up to the highest price possible. I hope I'm right. Profit is never a bad thing though enjoy it.
Yea you're right what's going to happen when Canada goes full legal. Canopy goes into outer space probably. GL
I know, maybe some larger companies doing some research on the industry and jumping in. I couldn't even guess, any small pullback even still in the green gets bought back up so quickly. today we went from 9.50 to 9.80 in less than 2 seconds. Looks like we will have that volume Engagefactor was talking about even if this does retreat a bit it mat be healthy.
I know long term no buyout is better you're right. Only if I don't have a heart attack first.
Why do I feel more stressed out when this is going up you'd think I'd be happy. I guess even if there is a pullback. Knowing when to sell is the hardest thing to do in trading stocks, I can say I've never gotten it right once :D I just want canopy to get bought out and I'm done make my life easier.
Almost looking like the same pattern as yesterday a selloff around 11 followed by strong buying. Yesterday it closed at a high we'll see what happens today.
Canopy has more cash in the bank then Aph just raised no idea if they'll raise more. The last raise dropped us only 30 cents I believe. The last conference call Bruce was asked about raising money and said they wouldn't until the new year. We'll see what happens. There's definitely appetite for this stock with everyone and their grandma waiting to buy on a pullback.
Aph raises money via bought deal at $4 and the pre market bid is 5.20?
Canopy should raise 100 million and see the pps rise.
Wow nice. NASDAQ listing would help get to that million. Looking forward to hearing Bruce on the conference call. I hope he addresses the goldman deal.
I don't really know other than he seems to really believe in what's he's doing. The kind of guy you want on the team. possible buy the facilities and let him run the show. They don't have a licence do they? Maybe is was just a learning visit for building new Canopy facilities. He did hashtag you can't afford us. Does that mean he's shopping the company I don't know, and the supreme guy being there is strange supreme I don't think can afford to buy anything.
https://twitter.com/adam_greenblatt/status/796737190596255745
Is this a hint at a buyout? The wording is too much of a coincidence.
This spaceship will one day be home to some beautiful canopy. Thanks for the tour .@DSutton1986 @TantalusLabs #hashtag #sungrown #ACMPR https://t.co/prhEzRaSiJ
Something is going on here relentless buying they just want shares and don't care what they pay for them. Your guess is as good as mine. I know what I think the company is worth year one of legalization a shite ton more then today and I'm not Albert Einstein. Other people if they're unbiased toward the plant should be able to see potential. Or maybe a buyout coming? Good news? Who knows. I'm sitting with my shares and the patience of a Buddhist monk after holding this roller coaster for 3 years.
I'd Rather live is a sunny merican state than cold as hell Canada Trump or no Trump . You mericans will be alright it will be a laugh watching this baffoon stumble around for 4 years.
Wtf I purposefully didn't look at the market but got too curious and we're up. Green is the new gold. That Dundee reports is looking for a 3 billion just medical industry that is quite bullish jeeze. I hope Canopy shares get gobbled up by funds and held in a dark dungeon for 10 years. God bless Trump and God bless America. America is great again!
I think the tsx might shut down today hopefully we get to recover first. Right now there's close to 400,000 dumbo shares selling Trump at 7.25.
Canopy getting bid down to 7.25? How many morons are there in the world? Too many to count!
Yea just mass deportation, the burning of coal and the end of NAFTA everything should be fine. At least he provides he's own comic relief just watching him. I can't wait to see him meet some real leaders from around the world gong show! Wtf Americans will save a couple dollars then realized when they get sick and bankrupt Trump's not such a good idea.
Probably the safest place to be today is on gold or cannabis.
I can't believe I woke up to Trump winning this morning. I'm trying to look on the bright side if the big win for the legalization movement. I mostly feel sorry for the American population they wanted change which is understandable but this isn't the guy to do it. I feel thus is the final nail in the coffin of the "great" America. You've officially entered laughing stock of the world territory sorry.... This is bad for Canada as well Trump doesn't understand that trade with Canada employs 10 million people in America. Scary times, we'll see some short term shock from this followed by a quick bounce back up I'd guess. What a joke
Maybe you guys can burn weed instead of Trump coal.
Holy crap Trump is this really happening?
Is he winning this?

Making Sense of Today
Wow, what a day.
I sold a 1/3 at an average of $7.50 as a hedge against a drop. It was like buying insurance. If I was right, then great. If wrong, ok., pay the insurance so to speak and get back in. I was feeling ok about the trade as the stock traded below $7.40, but the stock just would NOT break down...even on low volume. Slowly, steadily, relentlessly, the buying kept coming in. As the stock rose to $7.48, I decided it was time to to reconsider the trade, and I began buying. Back in fully at an average of $7.55. So I paid a dime for the insurance. Do I feel bad about that? No. It was the right move. I'm happy to have the shares back and the gain tha followed, and the other 2/3 position did just fine...by doing nothing!
Somehow though, I still need to make sense of today to understand what was going on. Here's my thoughts.
1) I'm still convinced there were shorts setting up in the $7.50 area. There's games that get played, and I was seeing these.
2) As the stock started to push up, house 85 suddenly devoured the $7.55 level, and at that point, ALL the trading instantly changed. They did the same thing at $7.60 devouring close to 150,000 shares.
3) I think at that point, any short position got totally freaked out, and they started covering. (I would have covered too!). The big gulps of shares, and the steady relentless buying was just too much to argue with.
So ok, there was short covering. But I'm truly convinced there was more than this. I've looked at the trading, and I'm now absolutely conviniced there is Fund buying coming in.
For example. Barclay's (house 90). I've looked at their trading for the last month. They've only been there at all for 11 days of the past month...many days trading nothing. On 10 of the 11 days that they DID trade, the average might be 15,000 shares on the day. Then today comes along. Their buying was VERY strong, measured throughout the day. In total today, they bought 144,200 shares...and sold NONE. Their average buy price was $7.54 Here's the stats on their buying for the past month, and you'll see what I mean how today marks a massive change to their involvement in the stock.

So you say, ok, $7.54 on average...not bad. But the question is, were they still willing to buy up at/near the high?? Absolutely, they were. From 3:30pm onwards, they were still in there buying. This bodes extremely well for the stock. They want shares, and aren't shy at all to buy at the highs.

Merrill and Nesbitt were all over the map, so nothing noticeable there, but both houses were net up again today, significantly.
So here's the thought. I'm personally convinced this IS Fund buying, and their buying is eager. It's what essentially stopped the voloatility to the downside after reaching new highs. They were there to catch any shares sold, and then as the shares dried up, they bought...and bought...and bought, at progressively higher levels. To me, it is the ONLY reason that the stcok could be so rock steady.
Now what's REALLY encouraging is that they're more than willing to buy at what we're calling the "highs". Well perhaps in their world, they don't consider these levels high at all, in comparison to where they think the stock is going.
And what's even MORE exciting, is that there are still only a few funds involved. When other Funds get involved too, the stock is really going to move up. Look at what happened today with just a few Funds involved.
Given the strength of their buying, even near the highs, I don't see this stopping any time soon. We'll see what comes.

According to the Morningstar website, there are now five funds that own shares in CGC. It's just beginning

I don't see anything in the news release but, usually thus twitter account is pretty reliable. Could our new Quebec hemp company come into play here? I guess it's made elsewhere. I like this company's branding I think it fit perfect with the tweed brand. I hope tweed partners with them. I don't own their stock just a fan of their Branding.

Thanks I've never really seen it play out on a start up before. I've really only invested in mature companies that were already 50% and up owned by institutions. We've been lucky enough to find this company when no one even knew their name back in 2014 two years later they are the most traded company on the tsx it's unbelievable, I feel blessed.
The only thing close to this I've seen was dollarama a Canadian dollar store. I rode it from around $10 for a double into the 20's . They had around 300 million in sales. Then I watched it go bananas into the $100 per share mark. I believe that was my lesson setting me up for Canopy learn from your mistakes.
Watch the bid asks go through for a little while this morning. There are some serious players in the game now. 100's of thousands of shares getting gobbled up. The past few month I wonder how many shares have been locked up long term? or do you guys think these are more large traders coming in and out. Anyways this smith falls company has come a long way in 2 years. Wow
I think they'll be where my personal expectations are of them by next year most definitely and probably much higher. producing 40,000 kg's of product, 300 million plus ready to go for rec. Even if they hit that we're laughing here.

Updates on Smiths Falls Construction and Company Licensing
SMITHS FALLS, ON, Nov. 7, 2016 /CNW/ - Canopy Growth Corporation (TSX: CGC) ("Canopy" or the "Company") is pleased to update that its wholly owned subsidiary Tweed Inc. ("Tweed") has received approval to begin using its new breeding area at 1 Hershey Drive in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
Consisting of several breeding rooms, phenotyping rooms, and male and female plant rooms that are nestled far away from the flowering rooms, the breeding complex has been specially designed to isolate pollen and male plants from the remainder of the facility.
"This breeding area now allows Tweed to launch two projects core to its vision of offering Canadians the most variety and options in the sector," said Mark Zekulin, President of Canopy Growth Corporation. "First, working with our world class partners, we can begin breeding new varieties uniquely available in the Canadian regulated market. Second, as part of our commitment to supporting a patient's right to grow at home, we can now begin large-scale production of seeds for the legal Canadian market."
This is the first such facility in the industry and will position Tweed as the only licensed producer capable of breeding new products to specific cannabinoid profiles.
In addition, Tweed has had a further three rooms approved as Schedule 3 rooms where cannabis can be present. These rooms will make overall product lifecycles more efficient.
The Company has previously projected 30 total indoor flowering rooms in the 168,000 sq. ft. licensed production area at Tweed's Smiths Falls facility. Based on updated construction plans that will employ multi-level construction, the Company is now targeting 39 similarly sized growing rooms, 12 of which are approved and operational and another 12 of which are under construction targeting completion in the first half of calendar year 2017.
"The demand for high-quality medical cannabis continues to grow at a rapid pace," said Mark Zekulin, President, Canopy Growth Corporation. "Our facilities are growing at a similarly rapid rate to build on our leading position in the medical market, one that requires variety and scale."
Across its three licensed production sites, Canopy subsidiaries are now licensed for 13,500 kg of dried cannabis production and 6,700 kg of cannabis oil production, representing over 7 million ml of finished cannabis oil.
Here's to Future Growth.
