This is totally opposite of what has been happening on this board. The pumpers are the ones that compare Calypso to companies such as Qualcomm, etc...I don't think the "bashers" are trying to make apples to oranges comparisons at all.
People, pro or con, can post as much as they want to. If someone appears to know everything and can answer every question perhaps you might want to pay attention to what they are saying...they may be correct.
If you ask doctors questions about health they can answer every question and most times they appear to know what's going on...does this mean you shouldn't listen to them?
Old news is part of a company's history, and history is an indicator of future performance...this is why someone's history is sometimes permissible in court because it is an indicator of what they are able/willing to do in the future.
Lesson 1 doesn't apply here because the stock price generally has been falling.
What's funny is that press release sounds like something Calypso would put out. I wonder just how many press releases are actually "real", if you know what I mean.
Bye...us intellectuals will stay here. We welcome dissenting viewpoints. :)
Calypso needs to be successful in their first venture before they are involved in other areas...
According to asnap every telecom business in the world has signed some sort of deal...ask him if you want to hear what you want to hear...LOL
speaking of copying and pasting, I should have copyrighted one post of mine because it's been reused several times! I'm flattered.
plaintiff,
Your posts are getting tougher and tougher to follow...English please.
This post made me burst out in laughter for some strange reason. This whole process is kinda funny if you think about it.
I just don't think Calypso has what it takes to be a successful business. Calypso has been extremely isolated, and it's very noticeable. The silence surrounding Calypso screams at you.
I guess next time he won't be so rude to a lady...LOL! ;)
You shouldn't be using up all of your parent's money like that! Shame on you. ;)
With all due respect, Michael, I think that the idea of having ASNAP technology (or some other version of the technology) does hint at the possibility of increased sales of access points in general because more people would want to utilize the internet for communications. I don't think this necessarily shows that ASNAP must be installed in the access points. I do wonder, however, why Calypso would be teaming up with them regarding access points when they supposedly want to carry access points for sale also. Perhaps they've decided not to offer their own access point.
Having said this, the patent does discuss how the computer and wireless devices will have to be configured to recognize each other so they can communicate with each other (in my words) so this DOES lead me to believe that something would have to be installed in the access point so that it can recognize these phones. BUT, I can also conceive that it's possible to do this without ASNAP being installed in the access point. I can conceive that just the fact that the access points utilize either "Bluetooth-type or some other internet-related frequency" that this can be pre-established in the software to recognize these certain frequencies and so thus they could communicate with them just based on that parameter. I'm no expert, of course, but I believe the patent is simply not clear on this issue. Perhaps this is why there is some argument on this specific point, and perhaps this is a vulnerability in the patent.
Does anyone still think Calypso Wireless handsets are going to be on any store shelves for this upcoming Christmas season? August 5 and counting.
Second-quarter 10-Q due in ten days.
Will Calypso Wireless attempt to start this whole charade over again for 2006? Inquiring minds want to know.
I find it interesting that the early July press release regarding Servinova discussed the ASNAP technology, but this press release only says they are testing the dual mode phones...if Servinova was originally interested in the ASNAP technology, but Calypso Wireless only was able to give them regular dual-mode phones I wonder what the reaction will be. I would bet NO DEAL!
Has there been one single press release put out about Calypso Wireless that was NOT initiated by Calypso Wireless? For example, why would Servinova not initiate a press release in this case?
The question that SHOULD be asked is why are people willing to pump this stock relentlessly? The answer to that is that there are a couple of people on this board that got shares in the company at a reduced cost...so they are pumping trying to get their investment to pay off whether the company is doing anything or not...you can't blame them I guess.
I don't hear people saying "buying opportunity" anymore when the pps drops...
The thing is, I think everyone is rumored out. There just is hardly any reaction to anything anymore because we've heard it all. Only real action is going to save Calypso.
I was just making a joke.
Please read fine print below:
The 1250i phone you are viewing is not the actual 1250i phone that we advertise as manufacturing, and it also is not the same phone that was shown as the 1250i two years ago...
Well, just don't ask for any updates! Look at this response I received from George Schilling a long time ago when asking about the China Telecom deal (keep in mind I was asking about it 15 months after it was so broadly and publicly announced...and it has been another 15 months since I received this reply)...
"Everyone knows the details of the China deal. Check the PR’s and 10K. What kind of updates do you expect? We are contracted to do a field trial when we have the prototypes available. There is no expiration date. There has been NO change. If there was any re-negotiation, it would obviously occur after the field trial. What would the point be to “change” or “update” the deal at this point? Do you really expect a PR every few weeks that says: Hey, China Deal OK!!! You ask, is it guaranteed revenue? It is guaranteed by contract that we will commence with a field trial. Revenue is generated from a successful field trial." - George Schilling
Oh, I'm fully aware of all the history involved here...and I still have lots of posts left!
Ok, thanks. I did notice on the EDGAR website that CLYW does not pull up Calypso Wireless...
I don't trust GS...why would I call and listen to what he has to say?
I know...sorry, I was responding as I read and later I saw that you guys addressed that.
$5 million won't even buy an average house in California (maybe I'm exaggerating some)...and you think they can buy RV Tec with it?
and this tells you all of...
NOTHING.
Do you call them just to reassure yourself? I don't understand. Alicia's job is to make you feel good. She will never tell you that things are not going well...
Remember Baghdad Bob...
Oh, I gather George is telling you to stop calling now?
So, this company was with them when Patrick Lannen and Winfred Fields were there? LOL
They have Calypso's stock symbol as KLVY...
Sorry, I'm not following your point.
What would they buy though for $5 million? Even Calypso has assets totaling more than that...and they don't have squat.
The real kicker would be if they bought whatever with a stock transaction, and where and who would the stock be going to? Another big, red flag if some unidentifiable company pops up...
Hey, maybe they'll "buy" Franc Telecom! HAHA. That's doubtful, though, because it resides in England...kinda tough to set up a money funnel there...maybe costa rica, panama, or nicaragua, nigeria, or something like that.
I can order a phone too like the one that Calypso has, but I don't understand how I could think I could do anything with it other than to maybe call up Sprint and ask them if I can get service on their network with it...
and I wouldn't be able to because it's not a Sprint phone...
Think about what I just said for a moment. Why would a company like Franc Telecom agree to purchase phones to sell when they don't even know if the carriers will allow the phones to be used on their networks? This makes no business sense. You certainly would want to make sure the major carriers in England were going to carry Calypso phones before you just agree to buy a bunch of them. Calypso would have to do major field trials with major carriers over the course of likely months before anyone in their right mind would just agree to purchase phones...how ridiculous.
pclee, take a look at this write-up about Kodak's early years. I don't see any mention here of Kodak doing anything through other parties. Kodak patented a product that actually existed, worked, and truly revolutionized film, and then the company began manufacturing their own products. They certainly did not start by demonstrating a product that they "ordered" from somewhere else...haha.
http://www.kodak.com/US/en/corp/kodakHistory/buildingTheFoundation.shtml
AND, I'll add that when Qualcomm began they were known also for their particular innovations and they are actually known for producing their own products. The president even insisted on it. So, you might want to get a bit more acquainted with the histories of the companies you mention.
Well, sure! The lawyers are going to get their money no matter what happens with Calypso. They get paid in shares of stock which will continue to bring the share price down over time.
I don't recall Calpyso ever saying anything about having 150 phones...they've only said prototypes were available. I think you got 150 from rumors on this board.
Just like they had you believe they were in full production mode to supply China Telecom with equipment in late 2003...
and if they aren't trialing ASNAP, then what are they trialing? Obviously, the phones they ordered are going to do what they were made to do hopefully...but that doesn't help Calypso.
???
