"NEWS: We're working with social-mobile games developer DNA Dynamics - check out The Naked Gun ICUP & Warheads: Medieval Tales on iOS and Android"
Wonder what they have going on? Seems to correspond with the increased social activity I posted earlier today. I'm curious about the 'social-mobile' part of this post also...TMK DNAD hasn't gotten into the social aspect...yet :)
http://www.facebook.com/spidershed
While the pps may be in the toilet, there seems to be plenty of actual company activity going on...time will tell and I gots lots of it, almost as much as DNAD shares :p
Warheads followers have jumped to over 900 from just 20 last time I checked, which was really only a week or so ago IIRC (https://twitter.com/Hugo_Deangard)
LtFrankDrebinJrs followers have also recently shot up in the last week or so https://twitter.com/LtFrankDrebinJr
and so have the 'likes' on the DNAD facebook page, big upsurge in the last 2 weeks http://www.facebook.com/DNADynamics/likes
something def. seems up to me, like you mentioned I think the Tapjoy connection may have something to do with it.
Warheads is part of that whole tapjoy thing also, so I don't know how that fits into things. I don't know if Tapjoy download or grossing numbers actually appear in the main app stores or what, seems like they should but I haven't been able to find out for sure.
In the PR DNAD said 5000 new users per day, but that number doesn't really jive with the numbers I can find on appannie or other sites, so that leads me to believe that those download numbers we can obtain probably don't include tapjoy channels...but who knows.
Here's a good high level overview of tapjoy for anyone who cares, and IMO we should :)
http://www.slideshare.net/feelingfuzzy/tapjoy-presentation
even worse case you need to recalc your figures to include the rest of the world. TNG isn't just in the US store, TNG is listed in at least 50 market locales besides the US. Some of them may not bring in as close to as much mula, but it's the multiplier that's key...and don't underestimate developing countries where mobiles outnumber normal computers by a huge margin.
I think we'll see some revs from TNG in Q2 since in my experience, they are recorded when they occur, not necessarily when they get paid...but accounting practices differ. DNAD probably hasn't seen anything from the naked gun yet so I'm not in the least surprised at the OS raise last week. From my research Apple pays 30-45 days after the end of the month, so very soon they should be seeing their first payment from apple/goog.
Don't forget about the IAPs also, that will make up at least 50% of the revs for this game, and any of their other games IMO.
Well, since they haven't changed the par value, they can't sell anything under .001 without incurring legal headaches...we are prolly as low as we go unless retail gets scared.
I'm betting today was the major portion of last Thursday's increase. IMO, the 'investor' just wanted to dump his shares to the detriment of all.
*Sigh* wouldn't it be great if we all could buy for a discount and then sell immediately for a 50-100% gain?
Quite simply IMO, we all need to realize what we have put our money in, a startup with huge potential, but also with limited funds for the near term until revenues start to come....which will be very soon IMO, end of the month should see the first actual payment for The Naked Gun.
DNAD started on a shoestring budget at the beginning of last year and for some companies the only way to fund growth is equity financing. How does a company pay for employees and growth a the beginning without HUGE seed funding? We are seeing what I consider extremely good growth and business plan realization for a company in it's first year. Would I like to have seen more revs and less dilution, HELL YES, but realistically what can/should we expect?
I'm not trying to rationalize this, I don't like where we are in the least, but the fact of the matter is it's happening and we can either live with it or get out and don't look back. It would be great if they could secure debt financing to a greater degree, but it would also mean that it would take much longer to be completely in the black. DNAD really doesn't have that much debt, and IMO have actually struck a fairly decent balance between equity and debt financing. I do think that they should secure more debt financing though, but they are choosing not to for whatever reasons.
Remember also, the company can't dilute it into the trips since par is .001, so unless retail dumps for big losses we won't go there. DNAD is doing private placements and those 'investors' are turning around and selling to us for a quick profit. IMO once revenues can supplant costs we will move up nicely, but until then we are more than likely going to stay around these levels. Peeps can either buy at these ridiculously low levels and hold or wait, but I'm hoping that revenues will be seen very soon.
TNG came out on May 31, DNAD won't see actual cash from that until the end of June, but I really do think that things will turn around. If they don't and they raise the AS again, I will def. reconsider.
Have a great weekend all!
With The Naked Gun, DNAD has a proven hit. If they weren't on somebody's radar for acquisition before this, they will def. be now IMO. Not many mobile companies can lay claim to a top 5 hit, and if their upcoming titles keep on improving and generating more revs...lookout.
The fact that we still have a market cap under 1M, let alone 5-10M is rediculous IMO. Tech startup in a hot sector with actual hit games and revenues, we must be in backwards land, or at least the land of confusion :)

Do you know how accurate this site is? According to that it seems there has been pretty significant short volume over the past month or so, especially around the time that The Naked Gun came out and the subsequent drop in PPS, when everybody was screaming chicken little.
Highest grossing ratings from appannie, looks lagging by a couple days, but you can see how well we are doing in other countries' stores also...sorry about the formatting can't do tables in posts :( From the context, most of the numbers for the countries are the Entertainment cat. ranking, the dash means overall ranking for that country is NA.

Good points jess, one thing that i want to stress also is that I'm pretty sure these ranking numbers we are seeing are for the US store only. DNAD's The Naked Gun has done very well and continues to do very well in many other markets and continues to penetrate globally.
When I was looking at App Annie this morning, IIRC the US was actually behind quite a few other countries...that doesn't necessarily mean that there is more money being spent in those countries but the fact that it's doing so well in so many other countries makes me VERY happy. We need to keep in mind that when we look at itunes/google play we only see 1 market locale, and there are so many others out there, big ones too...especially in Asia, where there are many more peeps also.
Check out app annie www.appannie.com as they list rankings for all the markets for the previous day. You do have to register, but after that it's free.
big ol' ask slap to end the day, tanks to whoever that was! :)
Also, very important to note that it's not another mobile game being developed by a competitor. I was afraid of this and this announcement actually quelled my nerves a whole lot. TMK DNAD still owns the licensing rights for the mobile game and there's also a new feature in facebook in which allows a facebook game to link directly to it's mobile counterpart...
http://mashable.com/2012/02/09/facebooks-social-games-in-2012/
Remember also last week also that we learned that Kev Corti, a huge social media guy, is now a consultant at DNAD which could imply a link between the facebook game and DNAD's mobile game. Lot's of good stuff to look forward to here indeed. I'm dang excited now :)
Very well said savage, nice post!
Many 'point and click' style adventures are very cartoonish in their nature, The Naked Gun is very cartoonish so I could definitely see those images as some sort of a game, especially the transitional artwork between scenes. A cartoon IMO wouldn't make that much sense at this point since the TV series is still going so strong and is pretty kid friendly in the first place. Usually seems as though cartoons come after the original series has run its course.
There does seem to be a complete lack of searching going on though, as a quick google for "merlin mobile game" will point directly at DNAD, but I guess many wouldn't even think about the possibility of mobile game as their first, or even second and third thoughts.
It would be great if it would be DNADs game but I'm not making any calls at this point. I'm excited to see what it is nonetheless as I actually like the series...total sci-fi dork here :) though not even close to as crazy as those FB fans, I don't really follow anything having to do with the show and I'm def. not *hyperventilating* about it LOL :)
IMO no one would know about the game unless they followed DNAD. As DNAD is not known by the common folk ;) no one would have the slightest clue since Freemantle has been hush hush about it.
There have been a few of us who have posted comments about the mobile game from DNAD in those few threads, so if the comments are not there anymore than they must have been deleted...which may be further evidence to support that it is indeed the game.
I'm trying to keep my expectations in check, but I guess we will find out tomorrow. Even if it's not the game, there could be multiple publicity 'events' tied to the new season and Monday's event could just be the first taste, followed by others, including the official Merlin game.
Well, I for one believe that all the past dilution has been used to fund TNG and any other games they are developing, along with other necessary business items. Although I don't think Elite has been responsible for the game contracts, I think they have been responsible for getting them the 'funding' from private placements.
No matter what people say, dilution is the lifeblood of public start-ups, we may not like it, but that's where many get their money from before revenues start coming in...and many never actually have any revenues, check one BIG one for DNAD. I'll admit I got in too early and have suffered some consequences, but I believe/hope from now on out we'll be seeing some changes, I firmly believe in the company. I have had my doubts at certain times but the available DD just seems to always point me in a more positive direction than negative IMO.
DNAD has come a very long way in it's first 1.5 years IMO.
Have a good day all.
Welcome! Glad to have you here Diamond. Lots of good peeps here but the pps as of late is very perplexing to say the least.
It's rare to find a company who has products that you can actually see and use, not to mention track the success of.
...and Pickle is the DD master :)
Interesting that Kev Corti, the founder/CEO of Soshi Games, is a new consultant on the DNAD team. I did a double take on that one. There was some rumor talk last fall about Soshi and DNAD. This guy has some mega social games knowhow and could at the very least spell an entry into the social games arena for DNAD.
Maybe they are actually doing The Naked Gun: ICUP social game? Or maybe something completely new.
Who knows, but if the pps wasn't so dang low I'd jump for joy right now :)
wish I had more powder...
Very well could be, it seems to be a really tight gaming community there in Leamington.
DNAD updated their quarterly with the new address at the beginning of the month, so I'm thinking sometime in May.
SuperSonic just released their first mobile game yesterday for BBC International and it's killing the charts on ITunes. So, DNAD moves into a space with SuperSonic who then subsequently releases their first mobile app, coinkidink? mmmm, maybe :)
http://www.appynation.com/appynation-developer-creates-bbc-top-gear-game/
no doubt in mine either
If this continues with TNG and then Merlin is a hit among other things that could be in the works, IMO there is the real possibility that DNAD's revenues for this year will be MUCH higher than the current market cap.
When the heck does that happen with a pinky? Usually market cap exceeds revenues by a huge margin down here. I know it's a moving target, but IMO we will not be in this range for much longer.
I don't think it has yet, but bringing the price to .99 and continued marketing of the game are going to get it featured IMO. With the amount of reviews the game got for $5, we should see a wave of new downloads at this price and hopefully some time in the spotlight.
This is more than I expected with TNG, and I'm happy as a clam.
Now if we could just get the pps up ;) But, consistent pps increases usually come after the company demonstrates performance so I'm really looking forward to good things here.
Problem is they are not a promotor or marketer, although IMO DNAD really does need this as part of their business plan unless they are purposely trying to keep their stock under the radar. There has yet to be any sort of promotion or pump from the company in the year I have been here.
Elite is in the business of finding so called 'investors' for DNAD, which is who the company is selling shares to in order to finance their activities until significant revenues start to roll in. I'm hoping Q2/3 is the start of significant increases in revs and significant decreases in dilution and a boot out the door for Elite.
And I agree 100%, if the posters/readers on this board got together and started a marketing campaign we could eclipse anything the company has done so far. In fact if we do a good enough job we might just make enough money on the stock to justify our efforts. I'm actually quite serious, if all the readers on this board started to do some social media regarding DNAD, we might just be able to make a nice impact. It would be quite a lot of work although sometimes social media waves just take off and keep rolling..... VERY wishful thinking :)
Very nice, one of their devs did mention they were stepping up marketing on the game last week. Would really like to know how they are marketing it, although I did some quick research and it seems as though the top ways to market mobile games are to get it into the hands of as many reviewers as possible and get it on the free/discount boards.
While it would be great if this data would be available, I'm doubting this information can be publicly obtained as it's proprietary sales information. IMO it really amounts to the same thing as sales data for any company's product and I don't think most companies will freely give data of that nature out to the public domain.
DNAD's par is .001. IIRC they cannot sell shares below that amount without taking on financial/legal ramifications. Any of these 'investors', and I use the term VERY lightly, who DNAD is selling these shares to want them at a discount. They can't obtain much of a discount if the current pps hovers around .001. IMO that is why we never went below that level in the last dip. Only retail selling will take us under .001.
Whoever we can attribute this latest dump to did a piss poor job of managing it, but apparently they just wanted their quick flip and exit ASAP which sucks big time for all, but might be a blessing in disguise for anyone who get shares in the 1s.
I'm really hoping we will be done with this soon, after all I'm hoping they wouldn't have raised the AS to just 550, to then have to increase it again within a month or two.
got my 2.5 :)
Yes they do. Wish you know who still had a relationship with them ;)
No mobile games tonight, still don't have a tablet. Keep blowing my money on other useless things.
My wife's coming home from a weeklong family visit tomorrow so I parked in front of the tv and played Rayman Origins for a while and sucked down a nice IPA. I don't often get to spend much time in front of a game before my better half tells me to go do something useful ;) ...so I'm actually not far in the game even though i bought it around 6 months ago.
Have a good night all
Only IHub board I'll visit today :) Glad to have another to visit.
Something interesting to talk about since it's so quiet today.
DNAD just moved into a new building, which houses another gaming company called Supersonic Software, Ltd. I guess the building is actually owned by SS, called the Supersonic House. They look to be a more traditional independent gaming company but they've been around since the 90s and have partnered with Codemasters in the past. Not a super profitable company but they've survived a long time.
DNAD and all its subsidiaries, including Helical Games, are now registered at this address. It's a good move IMO, moving into close proximity with another gaming company, who knows maybe they'll partner with each other in the future. Don't know much about the arrangement, just that I got alerts notifying me of the address change(s).
Also remember that these areas in the UK don't have as much office space/building like we are used to here in the states. Lots of office buildings are big old converted houses.

FYI, in April/May DNAD traded 726,197,536 shares according to FINRA. 294,289,347 in April and 431,908,189 in May
Total os/float increase since April 1st has been 145M, or 20% of the total amount traded in the same period, and almost twice the OS.
I don't disagree that dilution has had its negative impact, but IMO it seems there has been enough volume to overcome the dilution and the volume seems to indicate there are many shares being flipped short term.
A big chunk of the pre-april float was locked up and probably still is. If a good portion of those shares still have not been sold off, each of those 145M diluted shares since April 1st *could* have already been sold 5x over (145 * 5 = 725).
Of course that's just one way to look at it...take it for what it is, one of many perspectives on a bunch of numbers.
