I disagree. The public awareness about negative health effect of sucrose is already very strong and is growing exponentially. This is why the "artificial" sweeteners were so successful. But their success is clearly temporary, for they are a wrong sucrose substitute: they are clearly very toxic, and their proponents' days are counted.
Meanwhile, the scientific awareness is growing that numerous "natural" sweeteners, such as sucrose and stevia, are maybe toxic as well.
Thus, it is obviously not incidentally that the Nature put in fruits not sucrose but the fructose: the fruits are to be eaten to propagate in this way the plants, and they are delicious and are eaten. But sucrose in beats or in sugar-cans serves as a preservative from animals. The purpose of the Steviol Glycosides is the same: to keep animals away from the plants of Stevia rebaudiana. It only appears so, that people can consume it without being intoxicated, but they consume a lot of toxic stuffs : caffeine for example. When though the blood-brain physiological barrier is weakened, stevia intoxicates the brain (the same as all those artificial sweeteners. There are very toxic and sweet mushrooms also.
