Yep.....definitely not the tell tale signs/earmarks of a scam in progress. Agreed that this is solid evidence that Quasar is not a scam and that they are VERY SERIOUS about what they are pursuing in terms of a business plan. We will see more evidence very soon IMO. Long and holding my QASP shares till the cash cows come home!
I wouldn't say its "jumping up and down", but it is a positive indicator when coupled with the previous O/S drop. The trend is a reduced O/S which reduces the float which should translate to a larger push north once QASP releases an update/news. Fewer shares equals greater price sensitivity IMO. Thanks for keeping it real Robo.
Hope you're right.
Note I said "confirms it for me". All my opinion. If true/verifiable, certainly welcome news.
Anyone have any guesses as to who bought that approx. 840K about 1220 today? Was that retail? Be nice if QASP could buy back in the occasional big block like that while keeping with their presumed strategy of buying down at this level. Speeds up the process if they could. All IMO.
GREAT news on the O/S!! IMO that confirms it for me.....the buyback is in progress, the float is drying up bit by bit, and my shares are looking prettier by the minute. Now the question is only when do we find out what we've bought?
Hey.....I like elevator music! LOL. Just checked out some paint drying over on the other side of my building. Amazing to watch!
Well said, but I can't control that so.....I will wait.......patiently!
Like ice pick jabs to the neck. One in and of itself doesn't do alot, but multiple jabs......yes, each little jab dries up the float even more. Will make this stock very sensitive to any news. Long on QASP.....waiting patiently.
The question remains as to why they would buy in such small blocks all day. What is the strategy here?
Does someone have a contact within one of these MMs to ask why these small buys would fire off like this? Just curious.
Let's see if those 5K buys stop at 1530 EST, the point when QASP is restricted from buying back.....correct?
Thanks for the education Bronx! Appreciate that. Have a great day!
Notice all those small trades stopped in last half hour...buyback?
Well said.......IMO there is a deliberateness here in pointing this company towards long term success that just doesn't resonate with many penny/day traders. I think you are speaking to something that everyone here should consider. Rome wasn't built in a day, but that's unfortunately the view of many who want the gratification now. Patience here is crucial. Dean is not in this to satisfy quesy shareholders.....if he focuses on building a strong foundation underneath this company, then he will have met not only his and Quasar's expectations, but those of shareholders too.
The bottom line here is that we don't know for sure how the engineeering will play out for this concept. I'm sure all this has been considered and the same questions asked behind closed doors in the JV discussions/negotiations. Dean is not dumb. If he and his team didn't feel these issues could be overcome, they wouldn't invest. I find it hard to believe that they came in, said something to the effect of "neato", and then coughed up $5M to develop the idea. Makes no sense.
Spencyg.....your concerns are relevant, but I think they're shared by the folks that invested in the technology, and the answers they got from Tigerfish and EDAG satisfied their concerns.
Let's see how it plays out over time.......all this conjecture re: weight trade offs, feasibility are simply that without knowing what concerns have already been discussed in the process of investing.......its premature and assumes the worst, that QASP said "neato" and bought it. They're smarter than that IMO.
To every technology problem, there is a solution. The board can argue all day about the viability of retractable pontoons, but none of us (as far as I know) are qualified to say whether or not this will work. Obviously, Quasar believes it will. Let's just see how it plays out.
This is all technical conjecture on my part, so take it as such. Re: retractable pontoon technology. Marich pointed out economies of scale IRT different types of aircraft. Having an aeronautical engineering background/being a professional pilot, I would venture to say that the pontoons can be reasonably generic based on the weight class of the aircraft and the ability to shift the center of gravity (balance) within the pontoons if needed. IMO the challenge for the engineers will be the mounting hardware, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic connections which would be somewhat unique to each aircraft design. Some economy of scale in that process since Cessna, Piper, Quasar, all aircraft companies tend to engineer around a general design concept. Not difficult to design though and certain parts will be generic to the system even with different aircraft types. Over time, we'll see what EDAG/Quasar engineers come up with. Very doable for a good aeronautical engineer. Since EDAG works with Airbus, I have every confidence this one is a slam dunk in terms of talent required.
Again, I contend that this is a revolutionary design approach for AMPHIBIOUS aircraft and floatplanes. Never seen anything like it and it should appeal to a wide range of customers.
Its so exciting to watch all this unfold. The mood around my house is quite good!!!!
I'll take that one. Besides increased fuel efficiency, you also get less drag which translates to greater range at higher airspeeds, all for less cost in fuel. The ability to select pontoons or landing gear completely changes the versatility of the aircraft. now you can land on a runway or river with ease.
.0288 on TD. Doesn't mean much, although I wouldn't be surprised to see this gap up on Tuesday if people are putting in their buy orders over the weekend. Might be wrong. Usually, the ask/bid are so far off when the market is closed.
With this news yesterday, go splurge. My three year old is ready to play tractors. Will have to log off in a minute. Have a great day!
Talks to the global aspect of QASP. Very nice and nice vision.
I agree....he's too smart for that IMO. At this point, he's not going to do anything to jeopardize the beginning of this fledgling conglomerate. If feel pretty safe with my investment at this point. Pressure feels like its come off.
How are those grandkids?
If you haven't, go and watch the Tigerfish video. This is revolutionary for the floatplane/seaplane industry IMO. Quasar bought the patent/idea in essence and will develop it. Retractable pontoons/option to deploy landing gear are all revolutionary IMO. Haven't seen anything like that as a professional pilot with over 25 years of flying and this overcomes a recognized drag limitation placed on amphibious/floatplane aircraft. Extends range/saves fuel/increases the aircraft's utility. Potential military as well as civilian applications and could be installed on aircraft of various sizes/weight classes. I caution investors not to home in on the fact that its an remote control model aircraft. The Australian inventors simply demonstrate that the design concept works (nice, inexpensive way to demonstrate the technology), and works very well from what I can see. I'm already thinking about redundant systems if a pontoon fails to deploy. Would imagine they've got some sort of blow down bottle/alternate source to extend the pontoons, and if not, Quasar's/EDAG's engineers will figure that one out pretty easily. If you've invested $5M and you sell these for $150K a copy, you can see it won't take many sales to break even on your investment.
Whats the chances that, if these are publicly traded companies, of allowing them to draft and release a press release. Seems common sense to me that this would satisfy notifying vendors/customers without undue advantage/insider trading. We ought to keep our collective "ears to the rail" on that prospect as a potential investment ourselves.
Don't know if its accurate, but ask is up to .0288 on TD. Lots of buy orders coming in?
Finger never got near the SELL button today....this is a much more long term investment for me. Today, we left the gate, taxiied out, the throttles were pushed up, we're rolling down the runway, and we're all looking out the windows at the bystanders waving goodbye....LIFTOFF!!
Too many of you are over-analyzing the action today. MMs will eventually not hold this down....they simply can't. If you're a believer in this stock, what has changed? In the long run, IMO, this stock will continue to climb to FL$1.00 with clearance to climb higher if the pilot flies her right by following the flight plan.
Everyone take a deep breath, enjoy the three day weekend, go for a walk, enjoy some football, kiss your significant other, and count your blessings.
Same thing we've seen before......a lack of patience in some folks. Instant gratification is ok, but the satisfaction is alot sweeter for those who wait.
"Miss, Miss....can I get a bit more champagne once we get to cruise altitude? Thank You." (Married to a flight attendant).
Lighten up and LAUGH!!
Interesting angle I hadn't heard....thanks Manti!
I think we've got our answer as to who gets the patent rights to the technology right there. IMO Quasar bought it. If so, smart move. Pieces of the puzzle are beginning to fall into place now....good sign IMO.
AUGUST 4, 2009 PR
Quasar Aerospace, announced that at a regularly scheduled meeting of its board of directors today, the board authorized upon completion of funding of previous announced acquisitions Quasar will begin to repurchase up to ten percent (10 %) of the companies issued and outstanding shares at the companies sole discretion. There will be no fixed termination date for the repurchase program and can be expanded to up to twenty percent (20%) at the discretion of the management committee.
Did anyone make this possible connection? Could be that funding is completed and now buyback is in progress. Its says it right here in this PR that one will trigger the next. What do you all think? Does this possibly tell us that the funding is indeed completed? Not trying to pump......just trying to connect the dots. Maybe I'm reading too much into this.
Bullseye!!! Makes good business sense. These are smart people. Anyone with something between the ears would see the logic in this approach. Maximizes return for the co in terms of capital to continue/expand business plan and lines shareholder's pockets.
Absolutely agree.....will look forward to the numbers tomorrow. That's alot of shares for HDSN to be gobbling up though. Who were the two brokerages orchestrating the buyback? I can't remember.....wasn't it Deutschbank and ???? Don't we have visibility on their buys? All good points emerald. I still see evidence of buyback though.
All IMO......More evidence that the buyback is in progress. More evidence that shareholder value will be increased. Makes sense to reduce the float and make everyone's shares more valuable and stacks the deck in everyone's (including Dean's) favor when news is released. The more I watch, the more I realize that this is all very purposefully orchestrated within Quasar's business plan. And, there is some sort of financing there to buyback these shares, so the $15M bridge loan MUST be real. Its all coming together for me in my mind. As bummed as I've been the last two days, this morning is doing much to improve my spirits. Thank you.....a QASP long term investor.
Done!!!
Same to you my friend!
Seems like a very deliberate and controlled "walk up" by the MMs. If the trend continues and barring news, we'll see over .025 today with a little volume after lunch. Looks good IMO.
Notice the uptrend line on the intraday dips? Almost linear in progression. You can draw a nice, straight line in the upwards direction. Higher intraday lows show me alot of buying pressure here.....good sign IMO.
No PMing for me catdaddyrt. Thanks for the private reply though. Sounds like a great family. I've got one grandson out on the west coast. Have a restful weekend!
Great picture catdaddy. Now I understanding the handle. What a cutie (the kid....not the fish!) Have a GREAT weekend all!!!!!
Should close strong into the EOD. Investors will want in and not miss out should acquisitions news come out post-market Friday to pre-market Monday. Anyone have any idea how much the company may have bought today so far?
