Well, everything I own was down today. I guess we noticed how much the indexes were down....could hardly escape the bloodbath in anything.
Waitedg: It will be interesting to see how it acts from here. I think when it dropped just before the close last week, people didn't have a chance to really look at the details. I saw some positive comments on it in a DT room I frequent today. I hope you end up doing very well with it.
Not whining. It's the truth. Just telling it like it is. I am learning good lessons from these disasters.
Well, I'll believe it when I see it happen. I don't trust them any more. What happened to the AMEX thing? We were led to the slaughter all along, all the way from up in the 5's and maybe above that. I will never buy anything again like that. I have to keep learning these lessons. Since I have been going with my own DD, I am doing a lot better. You would think I would have learned by now. Like a mule, I had to have a 2 x 4 between the eyes.
TDYH: Hmmmm. No one trusts them???
I am holding it Waitedg. I don't listen to anything. I make my own decisions by why I bot it in the first place.
I may become a stock broker of sorts. Seems lately I am on a hot streak and now I have a number of people emailing me asking me for my picks...lol. Well, if I can help people make a few, I am glad to do it. I have three private Yahoo! boards and one more I only help monitor. Therein lies why I have been getting the private emails asking me if I have any that I can give them on the "side." Well, I normally post everything I like on my boards and let Star know as well. I have some more, but they are low-priced and not sure how they will go.
One I have not posted much on is ONT. I bot that one starting at around $.77. So, as they say, "past performance is no indication of future performances..."
IVAN: Do you all remember this one when Naz was posting it here? I got burned on it after holding it for several years, but I never sold about 25 percent of it I had in the IRA. Wish I had it all back. I took a big loss on the 75 percent I sold for less than half of what I paid. Well, it is going gangbusters now. This thing could go to the moon:

ON THE MARKET A BEST IDEA for 2006
A WORLD AWASH IN OIL - HEAVY OIL
Ivanhoe Energy (IVAN) $2.38 Nasdaq
Yesterday (IVAN) was up 56% on over 54 million shares
Last June I attended a couple of day `road show' out to Bakersfield,
California where I visited Ivanhoe's new heavy-oil to light-oil 1000
barrel a day demonstration facility. With $66 crude and a developing
major shortage of the `light-oil' variety - the market for a
conversion solution to this ever increasing and no end in sight
predicament is indeed mind-boggling.
THE GLOBAL PROBLEM:
Last October Federal Reserve boss Alan Greenspan spoke about the
world's energy crisis and heavy oil. Notably: Crude oil prices are
being distorted by shortages of capacity (the ability) to upgrade
the higher sulfur content and heavier grades of crude oil. Two
thirds of global output is heavy oil and the price difference
between West Texas Light and the heavy stuff is a huge $17 a barrel.
70% of the known world deposits are the heavy crude (15%) or the
extra heavy (55%).
ENTER – Ivanhoe's astonishing new technology converts, for the first
time ever, heavy oil to light oil - effectively, efficiently, in
volume and inexpensively. The process also creates steam and / or
power as a byproduct; it takes three barrels of steam to extract one
barrel of heavy crude. The short version of how the technology works
is: 100% heavy oil goes in one end and 90% light oil comes out the
other. The remaining 10% fuels the process with some `energy' left
over.
Key information: (IVAN) has legendary management with a major
international footprint, and they know where the heavy oil is and
who controls it - many by their first name.
Disappointing results from Intel, Yahoo!, surging oil, could mean
that the 2006 rally is history.
January 18, 2006: 8:40 AM EST
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - There could be a tech wreck on Wall Street
early Wednesday as big earnings misses from Intel and Yahoo!, as well
as rising oil prices, look set to drive stocks sharply lower at the
open.
The news from the two U.S. tech giants, as well as an investigation
into Japanese Internet company Livedoor, helped spark a sell-off in
markets around the world, with Tokyo shares tumbling 3 percent, and
European stocks slumping in early trading.
The Tokyo exchange halted trading 20 minutes early due to a flood of
sell orders.
Back at home, S&P and Nasdaq futures tumbled, pointing to a big drop
when trading begins in about three hours. Whether the U.S. market can
right itself later Wednesday as the trading day wears on remains to
be seen.
The stock market rallied smartly in the first seven sessions of the
new year, but has pulled back in recent days.
London market watchers said the Nasdaq could slide about 34 points
when the market opens, or nearly 1.5 percent, while the Dow was seen
off nearly 100 points, or about 1 percent, according to Reuters.
"It's always negative if we start with some bad (U.S.) earnings
surprises. The fear is we'll have a very shaky earning season and I
think that's quite probable," the news agency quoted Thomas Radinger,
a senior fund manager at Activest in Munich, as saying.
After the market closed Tuesday, Intel and Yahoo reported earnings
that missed analysts' forecasts.
Intel (Research) also issued disappointing guidance for the first
quarter and said it would no longer issue mid-quarter updates -- news
that sent the stock tumbling in after-hours trading. The stock was
off about 9 percent in European trading in Frankfurt Wednesday
morning.
The world's No. 1 chip maker cited weakness in the market for chips
for desktop computers.
Yahoo! (Research) also missed fourth quarter forecasts and issued
lower-than-expected sales guidance, painting a bleak picture for the
tech industry. The stock sank about 11 percent in Frankfurt. (More
U.S. stocks traded in Frankfurt.)
IBM (Research) reported earnings that topped forecasts but sales that
came in below expectations on Wall Street.
A number of big-name companies are due to report results later
Wednesday, including Apple Computer Inc (Research). and eBay Inc.
(Research)
JPMorgan Chase said fourth-quarter earnings rose as investment
banking profits offset weaker trading revenue and losses from a surge
in bankruptcy filings. The results topped forecasts on Wall Street.
(Full story).
Elsewhere, oil prices rose back near $67 a barrel on worries over
threats of attacks by rebels in Nigeria against oil facilities in the
world's No. 8 exporter.
The February light crude futures contract climbed 44 cents to $66.75
a barrel in electronic trading, while the March contract for Brent
crude gained 36 cents to $65.26.
Treasury prices rose as investors sought safety, lowering the yield
on the 10-year note to 4.32 percent from 4.33 percent late Tuesday.
Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
The dollar was little changed against the euro and fell slightly
against the yen.
Doubloon: Some gaps never get filled.
Waitedg: I'm holding, but my stake is small.
Sorry, meant' under $1.00
ONT: I posted this one here several times under $2.00:
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/060116/20060116005260.html?.v=1
It's getting cheaper by the minute here. Maybe we should mortgage our homes.
This is really funny. The last time I spoke with Todd Yocham, he asked me what the average was that I paid for my shares. Now I think I know why. So, they are taking $2.13 and giving us $4.50. So, I guess we better be glad for that.
I'll wait and let them give me the 4.50. Likely it will go through. That is what they've been doing all along is getting the audit done to get this deal done. I thought it was supposed to be worth $12.00 a share or that was what they wanted, or was it $20/share...?
Well, I knew something was going on from the way the shares were acting. Someone was accumulating knowing they would make a killing on those shares they were buying under $3.00
So, we would get $4.50 per share? Doesn't even make me break even if that's the case.
This cracked me up. Hope some of you enjoy it.
Do you remember the Original Hollywood Squares and its comics, this may clear-up your lungs. These great questions and answers are from the days when " Hollywood Squares" game show responses were spontaneous and clever, not scripted and (often) dull, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course....

I sold sold some puts along the way, and so far so good.
Conference Friday re TRLG if anyone has interest. I still like it and think it is going to at least be a double at some point, but a LT hold:

Thanks for passing on that info.
NMGC: Secondary filing...
NNVC: Big drop on profit-taking today. I know someone close to the people who seem to know what's going on with it. FWIW, here is his message when I asked about the drop:
these are wild swings expected of a Pinkl! I think
$1.50 is a good entry point but this stock is definitely going back
above $2 as it will be moving to a major exchange! Word is
circulating (grape vine) that the efficacy preclinical trials were
good! Keep in mind this is a long weekend (for the markets) and
traders are selling! I have my entire position with me! I have been
thru these swings several times and it is hard to predict them. If I
had extra cash I would have bought more!
More news from NNVC in the coming days!
Waitedg: Traders always sell into long weekend. Everything an aberration today IMO. I only see TRLG doing normal, only because guidance was issued this morning.
I wish it was 6.65. But....there has to be something going on over there. Everyone hush-hush. Volume coming in, though not huge, it is huge comparatively speaking. Something gonna pop IMO...and feel it in my gut.
Three-day weekend coming up for the markets, so lots of "nothing" going on, and day traders don't want to hold over three days. Prolly not going to see much of anything until after Monday. Don't despair... Just the way they play it.
I got no response from TDYH either. They aren't talking.
Bot NIHK: Nighthawk Systems Signs Agreement with Verizon Wireless
Good morning! The following press release went out this morning and
announces an agreement that we recently signed with Verizon Wireless. This
is a huge strategic accomplishment for Nighthawk Systems. Verizon Wireless
has agreed to let Nighthawk Systems utilize their nationwide wireless
network to provide the airtime services for our devices. We can markup and
resell their network, bundling it with our devices. There is more to this
than meets the eye. To my knowledge, we are the first telemetry equipment
manufacturer to reach this point with Verizon Wireless. Secondly, while I
cannot go into specific details, they have provided a pricing strategy with
us that has never been used for telemetry services before that will, in my
opinion, allow us to provide airtime for telemetry at never-before-seen
prices. This should give us a huge advantage over other telemetry service
providers. Not only will be able to offer break-through pricing, but we
will be able to bring along Verizon Wireless as our partner!
We have long been pushing for this through our participation in
conferences and seminars. Paging technology is the most effective method to
do what we do; however, wireless providers have historically been resistant
to pricing their services to allow for companies to utilize the technology
for low volume, but mission critical data services. I am extremely pleased
that Verizon Wireless has decided to take a leadership position in this
regard, and has chosen to do so with Nighthawk Systems. Verizon Wireless
recognizes the opporunity for Nighthawk Systems to bring incremental
revenues to their network.
This agreement with Verizon gives Nighthawk a leg up on other telemetry
equipment and service providers, gives us instant and increased credibility
with large corporate and governmental entities seeking telemetry solutions,
and gives us the ability to change the face of the telemetry industry.
I look forward to sharing our future successes with you!

Foolish 8 List FYI: http://www.quicken.com/investments/strategyexperts/?strongpicks=foo
Waitedg: Well I believe when you hear a higher calling, it is good to go. I believe in that deeply. It isn't how much money we make in the world; it is what we did to make it a better one. God bless!!
NNVC! I sold it too early this morning.
NMGC: Looks to me like the MM's trying to get weak hands out. Taking out stops. Was doing the same with TRLG for a good while.
NXG: Has crossed resistance of $2.00. FWIW
FHHI: This one could do well. It is basically a start-up at this point with changes in the company, etc. In summary, a turnaround. Should begin to bring in some revenues as they move forward.
