Before anti nuclear activists showing up here again....
I might as well post the latest "Fukushima News" myself.
NRC Hid Concerns, Hailed Safety Record as Fukushima Melted:
http://tinyurl.com/ktwjbol
To me, this is just one more reason to get the Lightbridge fuel commercialized. A.S.A.P.
PWR Power plants near oceans or in high risk quake zones should be mandated by the NRC to use their fuel,
because of the superior safety benefits compared to regular uranium oxide fuel rods.
The Fukushima hydrogen explosion could not have happened, if Lightbridge's fuel would have been available and inside that reactor.
As the 3rd Anniversary of Japan's devastating tsunami nears, my deepest condolences go to all survivors who lost friends & family in this tragic natural event.
Life goes on....
Go Lightbridge!

Me too....
Great quote and I couldn't agree more.
Take care, boom
I agree....is this the "calm before the storm"???
Either way....
It should get interesting......
I don't see anything alarming.....
As far as I can see, the only institutional entity who is selling is "Marxe Austin & Greenhouse David M"
And they started selling already in October last year.
Some block sales as low as $1.40....
http://tinyurl.com/lqptalo
So what??? Others are still buying....
I wish, I would have bought more at that price.
As of December 31, 2013 they own about 1,7mio shares total.
http://tinyurl.com/ltu7h7d
I don't even give a "crap" if "Marxe&Greenhouse" sells their entire holdings....
This stock is completely undervalued.
There is nothing to worry about...at least not for me.
A nuclear company that has a patented fuel for a potential "monopoly" in the entire world PWR nuclear power market with a measly $50 million market cap?
Are you kidding? This stock is "peanuts" at the current price.
This is simple math. Without the "Fukushima" accident, they would easily trade @ $10.00 right now.
You don't need to listen to me, and I don't need to hype anything.
Why would I want to do that anyway? I am in this for "Long"
As always: Do your own research...
I only voice my opinion here and try to get people educated about nuclear power.
Or you can listen to Cramer...he says what you say: "Sell"

You came in the Lightbridge board to tell me about ATHX.
And I just gave you my opinion. Nothing else....
No reason to get pissed. O.K.???

Thanks again for your info.
BTW: Who is Luce888... "Mr. one post"??? LOL

Hi expediter, I did some research on this....
IMHO:
Not to "pi$$" on your parade, but ATHX is way overhyped and a high risk gamble right now....

Buffett: Wouldn't sell shares on Ukraine news
NEW YORK -- Warren Buffett told CNBC Monday that he wouldn't sell stocks Monday because of the crisis in Ukraine. If anything, the chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. said in an interview, he would be a buyer. "If we get into a major war, the value of money goes down, so the last thing you'd want to do is hold money," Buffett said. "The stock market is going to advance over time. You are going to be a lot better off holding productive assets over the next 50 years." Separately, he described the controversial Keystone pipeline as "probably a good idea for the country."

I don't know all the details or what exact components LTBR needs from Russia at this point.
The Russians keep developing their own fuel for their "VVER-1000" reactor, while Lightbridge is going forward with their "PWR" type fuel development.
As far as I know, all final "PWR" fuel tests are being done here in the US now.
I don't believe that any sanctions towards Russia could severely affect Lightbridge's technological progress anymore.
Russia is not going to be a market for Lightbridge's new fuel anyway....
The initial deal in the 90's was kind of like, the Russians didn't have enough funds to keep their test facility in Moscow up and running. So, Lightbridge basically "rented" the test reactor & staff from the Russians and financed the R&D. Russia on the other hand benefited from the shared test results, and is not part of any future patent "royalty payments" towards Lightbridge.
Both sides got a pretty good deal in this journey. IMHO
See also this article: http://tinyurl.com/khuhqyd
Of course, let's all hope that things do not get completely out of control in the Ukraine. Regardless of Lightbridge's future....
I doubt that the Ukraine/Russia conflict has any major effect or influence on LTBR's stock price.
It rather affects the world's stock markets in general, because of possible war fears & instability concerns.
"Oil & Gas" are usually the most affected commodities by such events....
The nuclear business is not at risk at this point. IMHO

"This reactor can continue to cool its core after passive shutdown without an external source of cooling water and electricity
and even without any operator action for nearly 110 days."
"Utilization of thorium in the third stage of our nuclear power program will reduce our dependence on fossil fuels,
mostly imported, and will be a major contribution to global efforts to combat climate change."
It is also said to be the most secured and safest reactor, which in future, could be set up close to densely-populated
regions without any need for an exclusion zone.

I don't know. I think that this stock is an absolute bargain at these levels.
Regardless of their earnings right now.
People simply don't understand the significance of their fuel and the patent that goes with it.
Lightbridge really has a "Monopoly" in the PWR nuclear power market with that fuel.
Theorethically, right now, someone could buy the whole company with all intellectual property for about $50 million???
Are you kidding??? That's "peanuts"....
What really amazes me, is the fact that people rather invest in Facebook with an P/E of 113!!! And climbing.... lol
And for what? "Social Networking"???
Or how about "BitCoin"??? lol
Amazing...
I can only shake my head about so much lunacy.....
Nope...nothing
Maybe tomorrow???
I completely agree with your assessment....
That's why they don't even put the date of the earnings call on their website.
It won't be pretty...that's for sure.
My hope is that a lot of small investors bought the stock recently for a more long term investment and hold on to it.
Of course...you never really know.
The real money is not coming in before their fuel get's the "green light" for commercial use.
But despite that, I am very optimistic about the companies future.
Always look at the "big picture"
And as you already stated: "nuclear business is fickle"
....actually it should say: "the mob is fickle"
Nuclear science is just simple physics, but most people simply don't understand it.

I just hope it won't be too bad....

I am posting this, so everyone can put this news in the right perspective. There is a lot of misinformation out on the internet about nuclear power generation.....
With Lightbridge's new fuel this accident would not have happened, due to the extremely lower temperature inside the reactor core.

They never have....
These guys are very professional.
Of course, as always, do your own research.
After all...it's a bet on the future of nuclear power
I don't know anything about the Yahoo LTBR board...
If you are asking about LTBR, all you need to know about their time line is in both slide presentations. (Steve's is the most current...)
Yes... the obtained patent and the Babcock-Wilcox manufacturing agreement will probably be the biggest news this year.
I would hate to make up stuff or hype anything else......
Nuclear R&D takes time and is strongly government regulated.
Stronger than any other field. Which is understandable.
But this patent and the manufacturing agreement are very important milestones in their more than 20 year long journey...
They're getting very close to commercial implementation of the new fuel.
So far, they have completed exactly what they wanted on schedule....
2016/17 will be the years of finalization.
Just be patient.....

..there will be "pull back" on the road ahead.
What's important: This is for real and any correction will be an opportunity to get in or to buy more.
The product is scientifically sound and not "science fiction"
That's all that matters. At least for me....
In 2016/17 we will be laughing how cheap we got in.
My Rating: "Strong & Long"
Go Lightbridge!!!
Absolutely correct.....
LTBR has never had any intentions to become a manufacturer of any kind.
They started as a research and development company and expanded to consulting services in order to create revenue to keep their R&D financed.
Lightbridge's future income will be a 10% revenue royalty on all fuel sales from future customers. That doesn't sound a lot, but in the nuclear industry that is "big money".
Almost every commercial reactor in the world today can use their fuel. And a 17% to 30% bigger power output is a "no-brainer" for the nuke plant owners.
We are talking "Mega-Bucks" here....
Not to forget the additional safety benefits of the new fuel.
This is "BIG"

Lightbridge testing fuel at Idaho lab (2010)

Lightbridge's next key research and development milestones for its fuel technology.
* Demonstrate the full-scale fabrication process for Lightbridge metallic fuel rods in 2013-2014.
* Perform in-reactor and out-of-reactor experiments in 2013-2016.
Develop analytical models in 2013-2016 for the Company's metallic fuel technology that can be used for regulatory licensing activities.
* Begin lead test assembly (LTA) operation in a full-size commercial light water reactor in 2017-2018, which involves testing a limited number of the full-scale fuel assemblies in the core of a commercial nuclear power plant over three 18-month cycles.
Lightbridge Fuel Safety:
In a large break, loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) scenario, preliminary analytical modeling shows that the temperature of zirconium cladding on Lightbridge metallic fuel rods remains at least 200 degrees Celsius below the temperature at which steam begins to react with zirconium to generate hydrogen gas and an explosion risk. Additional tests are planned to confirm these preliminary results, Grae said. Under normal conditions, Lightbridge fuels are designed to operate approximately 1,000 degrees Celsius lower than conventional uranium oxide fuels.
Note: No generation of hydrogen gas due to lower temperature means no "Fukushima" like explosion risk....
Go Lightbridge!!!
