Looks like it is time to take the 55% loss on my current round of shares and get out of here .. can't take this anymore.
Never, and I mean NEVER, buy into a stock like this after the big run. Just isn't worth it to watch your investment continue to deteriorate in value.
Good luck, but I need to get out soon before I lose anymore ...
He believes buying at .0007 and not having sold yet is the same as not buying at all.
So that should give an indication as to what kind of weight his opinions should carry.
OK, just making sure the MM's aren't playing more games with us .. but it wouldn't have surprised me if they were showing buys as sells, etc.
Were you the order for 30k at .05 at 9:52, or were you filled at 10:09 at .0451?
Anyone with an order in higher than .0405 and not showing up?
Seems hard to believe we'd go through 5 different bids on 101k volume and in the span of 41 seconds. That seems to be a coordinated effort by the MM's if you ask me (of course, I don't know much) ...
Well, that certainly explains A LOT of the strange instances where my orders weren't shown on Level II, and a few times, never showed up at all even once they were filled!
Guess it must be nice to have power ... LOL
Hey Monk, quick question about E-Trade. Do they generally place restrictions on securities after unusual trading days like Scottrade does?
I know I've missed a few stocks because of that, and was wondering if E-Trade has the same sort of restrictions in place after huge 100%+ gains or way above average volume.
Thanks.
Getting closer to being back in control of my shares.
Account Transfer Request to E-Trade has been completed, although it tells me I may have to wait a day or two before the assets post to my account.
So, that means CDIV has at most, two more days to rally BIG TIME where I can't sell out of excitement.
Size 12 here as well ... but I've got some nice heavy duty Sorel's that would get the job done nicely!
Too bad I don't know where NITE "lives" .. LOL
Who's to say it isn't already there, and the MM's just aren't showing it?
Maybe Monk will run the test for us though.
I hope you guys are right.
Right now I'm waiting to see if my transfer from Scottrade to E-Trade will go through this week, so an up week for CDIV would be wonderful, since I'm trying to transfer half of my position, and don't want to mess up a transfer by selling those shares.
Just .07-.08 by week's end would be enough for me .. teens can wait for next week.
Were you waiting for that order to go through, or did you set the order right before it was filled?
I'll settle for a trip back to .07 first - let's take some babysteps after this week.
I've taken preventative measures to ensure that I can't sell all of my CDIV because of my current super-emotional state.
I've requested a partial account transfer from Scottrade to E-trade, to split up my funds and also prevent myself from doing the same thing again, putting everything into ONE stock. At least now I'll be able to take two separate positions at different prices and such rather than placing an order for every last cent. LOL
But I SO could have used the money I made last week - I'm in a very bad position right now.
No job this summer - I was going to work for a family member, but now another unemployed family member is taking any hours I could have gotten. That unemployed family member happened to be the very same person who had been cosigning my student loans - so I'm desperately hoping that my most recent attempted loan application will be approved based on my credit alone.
So, were I unable to get a loan, my account balance here would have been enough (had I withdrawn the funds) to cover my first semester while I searched for other options.
Now I have nothing out of stocks, back to a much lower value in stocks, and just starting to feel a little depressed.
I hope you are right, and those 7's are back to at least even in a short time, but it is SO hard to watch more and more money disappearing from my listed account value.
Every decision I've ever made due to emotion has also been wrong - like when I got back in early this week at .0731 average after I sold at .078 before the run to .13. I was mad at myself for selling too early, and was determined not to miss the next big run.
So, hard holding when no matter what I do, I'm wrong.
From now on, when I think I should do something, I shouldn't listen to myself.
I'd like my post removed from the stickies above, as I don't feel like any sort of winner right now.
Thanks!
It has been so long since I used that account, I had no clue where to even find the information. LOL
I went to the site, and it said $9.99, but it IS a flat fee there which is better than what my commissions are on EVERY trade with Scottrade.
How would you rate their reliability and such? I might split up my funds in my Scottrade account, and it'll either go to fund a new account somewhere, or into my existing E-Trade account.
Trying to eliminate the "eggs in one basket" possibility that has me stressed out this week.
Who here uses E-Trade?
This might be a stupid question answered many times all over the site and I just didn't find it, but do they charge the same flat rate on penny stocks as big board stocks, or is there an additional 0.5% fee like with Scottrade?
I just remembered I have an account with them, but haven't used it in many many months. And seeing as how I'm trading a lot of penny stocks, and not so many over $1.00, I figured it would be worth it to ask.
Well, you posted on the 5th, talking about how they had no cash and wondering how they were paying for their acquisitions ...
That was the day after its first non-sideways trading day in a week and a half (held .0019 for about a week before that day closing at .0026). Then you posted at the end of the day the following Monday (after it went up 169%). Then you waited until after it had hit .13 and dipped to .07 to post that Friday. Come in after it had already dipped almost 50% from the high to tell us you thought it was "nearing the top".
Hey, nice call! I think it is going to drop to .025 on Wednesday, June 17th ... hey, look! I was right!
You were watching all week I'm sure, just waiting for the first big dip to come in telling us you were right.
Well, I have been putting off chores all week, watching CDIV .. I think it's about time I go outside and try to forget about CDIV for the rest of the day.
Maybe when I come back in, things will be a little more encouraging in terms of share price.
Starting to look up again for CDIV.
I sold my last "cheap" shares today - 10k from .024 - sold at .075 (last order at that price). Trying to put that little bit into something at .0001, figured I'd only lose my commissions if it never goes anywhere.
Still holding almost 100k shares here, hoping for a new HOD here shortly - that'd make me happy.
I guess I just grew accustomed to watching my position value growing each day ... so today (and yesterday morning) are disappointing after last week. Perhaps I expect too much from a stock .. LOL
Well, this isn't the kind of day I was expecting .. I was all excited last night too, and couldn't sleep.
Good night ... and just in case, good morning. LOL
4 hours and 19 minutes before the fun begins!
Is it 9:30 yet?
For the first time since I got out of school for the summer, I've found myself really struggling to get some sleep. So, when I can't fall asleep, what do I do?
I start watching some episodes of Monk - after 5 of them, I'm still awake. Now the question is, stay up or try to sleep for a few hours? If I stay up, I need to find some more Monk - Hulu only has the last 5 episodes.
Counting down the seconds to opening bell .. tick tock tick tock ..
Thanks, me too!
The problem isn't with the majority of the material. I understand 90% of what is going on in the math classes pretty easily. It's the 10% that I don't really know that seems to make up 40% of the test material. Honestly, how am I supposed to know how to construct a vector space such that it contains the matrix [0, 1] [1, 0] but not the matrix [1, 0] [0, 1]? I mean, everything else you learn tells you that the columns can be interchanged, and now you want me to make it so that they can't be?!?!?
So yeah ... that's when I end up failing the class, and forget ever having set foot in the same room as the professor within 2 weeks, not to mention being unable to remember who the professor was! LOL
Back when I was a kid, I was quite good at math. Learned basic multiplication and division in preschool, knew what squareroots and such were as well. So, naturally, growing up and always liking math, for the longest time I wanted to be a CPA. I just wanted to work with numbers my whole life.
Not really sure when things changed, but in my second AP Calculus class in high school, the teacher told me about the school I ended up going to, and thought I should look into engineering. Guess having something to go on when looking for a school was enough to set me down a potential career path or something like that. LOL
I'm doing good right now (CDIV is helping with that IMMENSELY), but these nights are going by way too slowly! Math was by far my favorite subject in high school, but surprisingly, has been the most difficult for me to get through in college.
Just the new approach based on equations and concepts, but not so much actual values, has really thrown me off.
Accounting classes ... I get to take a few of those next year. Of course, I'm going for a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and next year is my senior year ... I just wanted to take some easy classes for my electives!
Should be learning all about taxes, just in time to have to figure them out!
Thanks for keeping me on my toes!
Might have missed out today if I hadn't started thinking about getting back in after that message. So, my 90k shares at .08 or under that I picked up today, thank you!
Finally moved NITE up to .094!
Just need somebody to take the initiative and start hitting the ask ... seems they UT pretty quickly once that happens.
I'd help out, but I can't do much with $2.80 .. LOL
Awesome!
I'm sure a lot of people (myself included) are quite happy with those 6's and 7's from the morning!
Added 90k shares today, between .07 and .08!
You're welcome on the partial (sorry I didn't have more) .. I REALLY wanted more CDIV, what can I say? (sorry for bringing the price down though)
Tapped out at 100k shares of CDIV - average price is .0683
Speaking of holding the float, any clue where the Den stands now in terms of # of shares held? I wish I could be more of a contributor, but 77k shares just isn't that much compared to you guys who are playing in the majors.
But yes, I do need to learn not to be so impatient and such - after all, that has already "cost" me over $50k on CDIV.
Well, I never left completely, but 10k shares just wasn't enough! LOL
I thought I made a bad call when I sold at .078, but human nature "saved" me this time, with people (and MM's) taking profits after such huge gains last week. But now it is time for this to take off again, so everybody can make a lot more money.
Now please, don't take this to .15 tomorrow, or I may have to sell.
What the heck, another 21k at .07 ... she's got to head up sooner or later.
OK guys, back in with 46k at .07. Trying to help get it started back up.
