Looks like someone is propping the price up to me so the notes can be converted, whether they are allowed to do that "on paper" or not. (we all know how well that works) That's why the O/S is what it is now.
But buy up all you want at .20. You should be able to do that for a couple years or so.
Someone is very frustrated that GTEC has flatlined between .20 and .205. Are we all going to be asked to slap ask again? Maybe if we all do that, we can push the PPS higher together. lol
Lying how? I asked you questions regarding the IBOX.
When I said I wasn't talking to you, it was because you replied to message 4466, not that one.
Well, Long, I wasn't talking to you in that message. If you don't like what I type about GTEC, then don't read it. What I think people find annoying is a certain someone asking people to pay more for the stock than they need to by slapping ask, and by incessant cheerleading of any and all info GTEC puts out. The board needs someone to put out a bearish case for GTEC so people can have both sides and make up there own mind. You can lose a lot more money jumping in a potentially bad investment than by avoiding one. Always best to err on the side of caution.
I wasn't making any demands, I just pointed out in the form of a question how you spin the IBOX by neglecting to update certain information. You are a very bad moderator, in my opinion. Overbearing and one-sided. Not ideal moderator traits. No wonder the board is dead most every day except for you and bbb.
Its better than nothing. To play devil's advocate, it could be just something to keep interest in the company up, so there is a market for the note conversions. If there was no carrot held out for possible uplisting, then there would be no market for GTEC shares. That possibility is the only good thing GTEC has going for it right now.
Next conference, those able to participate really need to press the uplisting issue and force Elsa to answer directly.. in fluent English.
Well the O/S is being increased somehow. I think the note holders are converting their portions of the notes into shares.
BTW, is it even possible to RS when you are in the middle of note/warrant agreements? I don't think so. You would have to rewrite all the contracts to reflect the new share structure. Thats why RS's happen right before or right after financing. So that's why I think we will flatline until 2011.
Why are SGA expenses so high?
Yep I agree...But when are they going to do that, 2011 when the notes are done pumping shares in the market? Remember we were led to believe it would be this year.
And just how do you propose it will qualify for an uplisting?
Are you saying PPS will be over 2 or 5 bucks soon? we are at 20 cents for crying out loud..and share count is being increased not decreased.
Well Long, we all heard the conference call. Stones. Glass House. I didn't hear any cursing but there were buckets of stutter and spittle.
Are you going to update the IBOX anytime soon? To show the new O/S and authorized shares? Maybe full details about the recent financing? I'd hate for any new GTEC investors to get the wrong valuations based on old info and incessant cheerleading on the board. If you want to continue to act like GTEC is the best deal since Googles IPO, at least provide the facts accurately. Funny how you updated the board for the link to the financing but conveniently forgot to update the share count.
bbb, you know uplisting won't happen anytime soon. It was impossible with the old share count. Much less the new one. This stock has flatlined and there is no catalyst that can overcome and lift GTEC above the millions of shares it is likely to get hit with every cent above .20 and .25.
I really doubt anything was said. Any Pope company employees would be forbidden to talk about Pope's investments. lol...imagine just calling around equity firms trying to get dibs on what they are investing in and why. You will get hung up on.
That's a good idea, I think I will do that. Day late and a dollar short for me, but might help for the future.
The escrow holds the CEO's shares, not the notes. You should know that.
Started converting those notes already, haha.
Interesting article on the challenges facing the Vietnamese economy: http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Southeast_Asia/JC18Ae02.html
I wonder how prone CVIC is to the double digit inflation and worker strikes going on now?
Pope is really not playing, keeping that PPS above .20, lol. We'll see if they keep it up.
Well we got our candle...Would have liked to see stronger volume though, it was pretty anemic. At any rate, we found our bottom I believe. (*fingers crossed* ) But due to the weak volume I don't think this is the beginning of an uptrend yet. We might languish in the mid to low .20s for a time. Let's hope we don't get any more heavy selling.
At any rate, I dipped in again...lets go, let's go, Cavico!
heyyyyy... a new OTCBB company I've actually heard of! I wonder how many of those 100m + A/S shares are going to make their way into the float in the near future?
Looks like we got options at 1.00 and warrants at 1.50....
Anyone dig up anything yet while doing their DD? Anyone go long yet here?
Strong brand...still feel that its too new to jump in...want to see how they plan on doing business.
Coincidently, I saw a new board has been created on IHUB: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=12829
If that's how you see yourself...lol...go for it buddy.
But I think bbb is a better set of ears for such narcissistic self-congradulations. (BTW...I hear SWVC is a great long term investment!!!) So on that note, you guys have a great time on the board. I'll be back around to voice my opinion on any new developments. like it or not, haha.
It is a good sign. Lets hope for a nice candle tomorrow, with expanding volume. But if we still see red tomorrow, then I'm afraid bleeding will continue through next week.
I've found that sarcasm gets lost in translation on message boards, lol.
Say whatever you feel, man...it doesn't make you a pumper or dumper.
This badge of honor you put on yourself for never saying anything bad about GTEC in public is rediculous. That's why many people don't like or trust you. You are so shrill and one-sided.
And I don't think its a scam. But recent devlopments have put it more in the negative column for me.
Yeah, feel free to update whatever you dig up. Strong brand, definately. DEO is starting to look nice too.
But I try to invest in companies with little to no debt. Debt turns little mistakes into big ones. If a company has no debt, then there is no real threat of bankruptcy, a good cushion to have when value investing. Its easier to change the business completely than to pay off debt.
LOL...actually you should see the movie, its a classic film. I went to Georgia not too long ago and was reminded of the movie. If you ever want to know how an industrial powerhouse like america elects the leaders we do...watch deliverance, lol.
Anyway, back on topic...Yes GTEC could be big. But I already have my chips in. Its not enough of a "sure thing" to me anymore to continue adding except to flip. Maybe when they RS.
Hopefully...I don't want to see GTEC become another stinky pinky any more than Long does.
But in penny stocks...no, in investing period, its best to look at the class half empty and use caution.
Otherwise you will find yourself bent over the barrel one day.
Ever seen 'Deliverance'? "Squee! Squee!" <-Don't be that guy.
Well excuse me for being thouroughly unimpressed with Elsa.
I guess that comes from knowing a few accountants/MBA's. I don't know what kind of financing advice they get that encourages such a cash rich, cash flow positive company to take such bent-over-the-barrel financing terms. Maybe it was her lack of people/English skills that let Pope walk all over GTEC.
I know what you are saying...I can understand her too, but its a far cry from "fluent" as stipulated by Pope, imo. Was hoping they'd bring in some new blood instead of people tied to old GTEC management. But whatever.
Also, I was unaware that she had a reputation. Learn something new every day I guess...
No bonus for taking English classes?
j/k...kind of.
Well ok not really.
But its good those bonuses are there. Feels better.
I haven't looked deeply into SMG...Etrade shows a possible red flag:
"SMG's debt to equity ratio (3.71) indicates that it has been more aggressive with using debt to finance growth than 93% of its peers in the Chemical Manufacturing industry."
Have you looked into its debt levels any? Seems kind of high.
I think it is a Buffet-style company with a big "moat", but I don't think he would pay this much for it. Using TA I wouldn't call a bottom yet either, unless the options market is telling you something different. But calling bottoms is not my strong point, lol.
don't hold your breath just yet...we still saw a new lower low today. Chart says could sink some more in the week or so ahead. It's good to see some resistance finally though.
It'll be done sinking by the end of the month imo. I'd wait to see more of a back and forth battle between green and red before I hop back in. Right now red is still a landslide.
Good point about some OTC stocks in 2000, but my OTC portfolio has never, ever been affected by general market conditions. My large cap stocks will generally tick up or down based on market conditions though.
Besides, how many vietnamese holders of CVIC.ob do you really think there are (outside of CVIC owners)? My guess is not many, and I'd think those guys would be the most inclined to sell on a crashing Vietnamese market. Even the IR rep didn't mention the Vietnamese market, which would have been an easy excuse for him.
We'll have to agree to disagree, I really don't think cvic's decline has had anything to do with the vietnam market though. But anything's possible, I'm not being dogmatic about my opinion. Hopefully by the time the next filings come around we will have some answers :)
I wish Pope gave GTEC a financing deal more like this:
http://www.chn-biotics.com/files/12-12-07CHBTConvertibleNoteKLGFINAL.pdf
Its the other way around, lol...But hey I believe it, otherwise I would have sold. I just think there is something going on here.
I had to laugh at the IR rep saying they didn't want to promote while the stock was going through "volatility"...its not "volatile", its plummeting!
I think I will be giving them a call myself soon.
I mean, can we get ONE green day? damn...
I'm not sure that I buy CCG's explanations either. This stock is getting dumped like its toxic waste. I feel like a sucker having bought in, even with a small position. Always sucked at trying to catch bottoms.
And to those who suggested it, I HIGHLY doubt this decline is related to whats going on in the Vietnamese market...We all know the OTCBB is a world of its own, and that is a poor excuse.
I still believe that by the end of the month we will have bottomed out. *fingers crossed* Will jump back in then.
In addition, it seems that this guy's popular blog has been feuling a lot of concern about Crocker, he writes about CCG and its clients (not in a positive light) frequently:
http://chinaotcplayer.blogspot.com/2008/02/update-another-auditor-with-history.html
http://chinaotcplayer.blogspot.com/2008/06/update-mystery-of-liu-sisters.html
http://chinaotcplayer.blogspot.com/2008/03/sunday-quiz-companies-with-dubious.html
http://chinaotcplayer.blogspot.com/2008/03/update-ccgyob-sticking-to-its-unclean.html
Looking around at a few of CCG's other client's, it seems many investors quickly get frustrated or disapointed with CCG and Crocker.
so.. grain of salt, grain of salt with this IR firm, imo. I think a lot of their companies are "real" but they seem to be real lax on the vetting process so they can secure the client and get paid.
GLTA...It will be interesting to see where CVIC will be at the end of the month. I have a feeling that we will have bottomed out by that time and it should be a great time to jump in.
Not only that, but even if GTEC doesn't get the EPS target, Pope doesn't care, they just get paid in a ton of shares to dump.
I think anyone that actually likes the terms of this deal is nuts.
That being said, if Pope is going to keep the share price from drifting lower than .20, it could make for some good trading as we consistently get these broad daily spreads.
interesting...
One of the things I like about Cavico is their investment-oriented business plan. Its good to see a growing construction company investing in diverse areas from the stock market to real estate. Seem to be setting a firm foundation for themselves.
I feel more comfortable with henry as "just an investor", but I am also aware that he probably holds more influence than, say, one of us. In GTEC, we frequently saw the fingerprints of "The old management" in their decisions, which should have been a warning sign in that company's case.
Crocker has shown himself to be a rude B.S. artist to the people who have talked to him. In GTEC we were dealing with him back when he was running CCG by himself (Crocker's cell phone # is on the GTEC IHUB board for those interested). Hopefully now that his IR firm has grown to be bigger and more prominent, they conduct themselves in a more forthright manner. Or at least hopefully Roger is more trustworthy.
All the same, I would take anything from that IR firm with a grain of salt. Trust is earned and CCG has some catching up to do in my book.
To those who don't know, in GTEC, Crocker told certain investors in contact with him that GTEC would make a RS and uplisting a top priority in the first half of 08. Instead, we were smacked in the face with an equity financing deal that was dilutive to a completely unnecessary degree that guarantees we won't uplist until at least 2011. There are more "suspicions" about some of Crockers clients but that is beyond the scope of this board.
Well SOMEbody with a lot of shares to sell has been selling. who knows why? might know something we dont as it relates to this alleged equity financing deal.
I don't think the company is all hype, or that anyone else really thinks that. Must be something else. You can have the greatest company in the world, but investors don't benefit unless share demand outweighs share supply.
I agree they would want to do it as cheaply as possible, but like I said the terms would decide whether current shareholders would profit or suffer further.
Usually, on the big boards, private equity means that KKR or Cerebus or somebody would take a company private, at a premium to market. In those cases, shareholders benefit.
But on the OTCBB, "private equity" means dilution via convertable notes and warrants at a discount, not a premium, to the market price, which damages us "little guys" while the equity firms rake in the dough.
I don't know how high up or close to actual operations your source is, he might just erronously think "us investing in company = increased PPS" because that is the way it works on the big boards when PE takes a company private.
Do you know the name of the PE firm, or if it is a PE firm that mostly does larger cap stocks?
