Ketch did another nice job on the Q and A. No apparent BS. Although, I get the feel it's going to be well into 2003 before we have a legitimate chance for nice gains. "Better late than never".
WHP, please discuss the potential ramifications this may have for NVEI. Isn't McAndrew a consultant for NVEI?
"We are getting really close." wheels, please elaborate on what you base this on.
hitimer, I was encouraged by Barrett's upbeat forecast for technology. It seems like NVEI might be coming on the scene at the right time.
Could this be good news for NVEI?
"Reuters Company News
Intel's Barrett sees sector crisis ending in 2003
Sunday October 6, 9:22 am ET
SEVILLE, Spain, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Chief Executive Craig Barrett of U.S.-based Intel Corp (NasdaqNM:INTC - News), the world's largest chipmaker, said on Sunday he was more optimistic than ever about the tech sector and saw the current crisis ending by early 2003.
"I have never been more optimistic on the future than I am right now, even in the middle of a recession," Barrett said, adding that he has named one of the horses on his ranch in Arizona "Nasdaq."
"Everywhere in the world we are bringing computers and the Internet to the masses: in Russia, China, the rest of Asia, the Middle East and so on. The story of the future is in the convergence of computer and wireless capabilities," he said.
Barrett has travelled extensively in the past two months, visiting Russia, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Australia, Vietnam and India, among other countries."
I feel funding and a movie deal a would take NVEI well over $1.00 especially in concert with some additional forthright Q and A volumes. IMO
thanks WHP, I'm still cautious, but it looks like NVEI does indeed have a solid game plan in place. I agree, the timing should be good.
The simple and most important piece of the puzzle remains to be seen. That being the fact that the tech "really works in the real world and can bring in revenues". I'm still cautious, but after reading the latest Q and A and seeing JH's response to BL, I'm becoming more upbeat about NVEI's chances to pull it off. However, I'll be very surprised to see tech revenues before mid 2003. I guess "better late than never".
BuyLow, that response from from JH was gracious and encouraging. IMO Thanks for sharing.
Wouldn't it be sweet if that is some Insider Buying?
dcs31, you'd be doing fellow shareholders a tremendous favor if you'd call Brad Ketch and ask him directly those pertinent questions. Then please report his responses back to the board.
"I am getting dam tired of trying to read between the lines." AMEN to that.
excel, did Brad say how they plan to clarify the terms and when we can expect clarification?
WHP, thank you for that great post.
spokeshave, nice breakdown of the possibilities. Out of curiosity, which category do you feel NVEI will most likely be in? Also, do you expect the company to announce the specs by sometime in December? I still can not quite figure out why it's taking so long to at least give shareholders an idea of the speed and distance they are testing.
immitt, 5 bucks a share does sound pretty darn good right now considering what we longs have been through.
wheels, if it's proven to work in real world conditions, I'd think they'd have to get at least $30 a share in a buyout. Only because somebody else would have to take it from there. If it's proven to work in real world conditions, I'd think "licensing" would be the way to go unless they got some knockout price like $100 a share.
Cracker Jack, this isn't the bottom unless NVEI delivers some pertinent news, SOON. IMO (I really thought the "bottom" would have been the .70s before some really "moving" news.)
hitimer, as usual, I find your post interesting. Please define "titrate" for me. I couldn't find it in my small dictionary.
Make that "timelines".
Did Cooper and NVEI miss any "by the end of summer" deadlines?
Has Cooper ever made any comments pertaining to NVEI's future NASDAQ application plans?
erugger, very true.
famlyinvstr, I agree on all accounts.
NT, you're correct. My mistake. Fall does extend thru Dec. 20. So I'll revise my challenge for specs to "by Dec. 20". I'm really expecting them sooner.
Now if Cooper and Ketch would do some followup insider buying, we'd REALLY have something to "hang our hat on". We couldn't get that lucky next week, could we?
In recent weeks I've been here challenging NVEI for such things as a letter to update shareholders and to do some insider buying to help reinforce shareholders's confidence. I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but look what's come out the last two days. NVEI is starting to look more shareholder-friendly to me. Way to go NVEI. You met the challenge. Now I challenge you to deliver to shareholders and the naysayers the specs on speed and distance by the timeframe you've hinted at (before carrier trials later this fall). Which by my calculations is by sometime in November. Maybe somebody in management does read this message board and is empathtic to shareholders afterall.
NT, I agree. But my question is, in reading between the lines, doesn't it sound like November at the latest for speed and distance info?
Does this mean that we can expect to see the long-awaited specific speed and distance information by sometime in November?
"That's an important milestone in our semiconductor development plan. The test results were very much in line with our in-house simulations, and we have put our engineers and partners to work on preparing the next set of tests, which we will run later in the fall.
When we complete the next series of simulations, we'll be able to publish some specific information regarding the performance of our technology. Then we'll move rapidly to complete our prototype hardware board and begin a new series of field trials with equipment manufacturers and selected service providers."
Grandylong, there wasn't a buy signal the other day in the .40s?
NVEI soothsayers
After reading Cooper's letter, what do you see as the next likely occurance that will move the NVEI share price significantly to the upside? Financing deal, movie distribution deal, field trial progress report, etc. Your timeline predictions would also be appreciated as well as your opinion of Cooper's performance for shareholders to date. Is Cooper implying that things are under control and will be fine? But don't expect immediate results because some variables will have to chronologically fall in place for the tech to be a success.
CJ, now that we have a little positive momentum, a little good news would make things interesting.
hitimer, I agree, Cooper must provide some continued evidence of his leadership of this company. This silence for tech protection is getting a little trying among some of the troops.
As is this financing and movie "guessing game". By the way, wouldn't it be nice, as a shareholder, to know what these consultants are actually doing for us, the shareholders.
Cooper should step up to the plate today or tomorrow and at least reassure shareholders that all is fine with the developmental processing of the tech. And that timelines are secure.
SS, how can we get honest answers to your questions?
"They've been making alot of progress with the tech and things continue to move forward (as far as I can tell)." CJ, it would be nice for NVEI to provide more information verifying "progress".
I'm trying to figure out if the glass is half full or half empty with NVEI. It would be a great time for a meaningful progress report on field testing.
A field test update that indicates another stepping stone to successful implementation of the tech even with no specific numbers will make the inevitable slide back into the .50s easier to bear. IMO
Shallowpockets, I'm going to "cool it" on advocating a shareholder-friendly Insider Buy or two and start focusing on more field test updates. That's what we need to see more progress on for now. I thought we'd have seen a further update by now. I hope the silence is not because there is no progress to report.
excel, what I'd do if I had the slightest interest in NVEI right now. Is nibble, then be prepared to stock up upon authenic verification of the tech. Average up.
