I suspect that at a high level individual accts may be knoan as to tje source. At a local level, there may be talk. And I think there was a Merrill odd-lot index. But I am unaware of sophisticated data mining, but that was 25 yrs ago.

SPY pnf sell occurred yesterday, with ATR recalc changing chart slightly. An upbar is in place, and 150.40 would start a down column.

You may get your bounce, due to the efforts to prevent tech sell signals.
First the old lows were supported, then the pnf short was prevented. At least, the buy on the close was either not their, or was overwhelmed.

Holding bearish positions and hoping not to suffer too much pressure tomorrow.

SPX: the master trader (different board) often notes that Colby's research found ema(5) to be the best trend following system by a large multiple. I dont incorporate it in my stuff, but the ema(5) is approx 1502, and a close under that will add weight onto the shoulders of the mkt.

TLT if bonds begin to fall again from resistance, that would pressure stocks and FXE. Might not be good for gold.

FXE pivot likely to be more like 134.50

FXE pnf objectives 136.5, and we are close enough for govt work. CCI for 30day cycle is trying to rollover, and a trend-line break would signal entry for an initial probe. TL for 1/4 of cycle length suggests yesterday's low near 133.25 would serve as the pivot.

WHAT IF? FXE looks suspiciously like blowoff gaps. I have LT leg counts to 134-137, and cyclic counts to the same area. What happens when the European crisis re-emerges?

If the economies are not needing/using the excess liquidity productively, will the money seek safety in commodities as a store of value, and especially precious metals?

Good work. I wound up a trapped short by dealing with domestic issues and taking a longer view to my position, and mkt never backed off an inch. Hopefully this will be the start of a reasonable retracement.

GLD broke through trendline and buy occurred with 10min ATR pnf (30min remained long). Looking for 20-25 week low, and this may have occurred.

SPY GLD continuing to hold short equities, long gold. The ratio could easily fall to 0.82 and this would represent SPY 132 vs GLD 160. My target for SPY is lower than that, and definitely bullish on GLD. Have a great new year.

If credit mkts want higher yields on US bonds, mkt will suffer. If Ben buys what others are selling, to keep rates low, mkt will suffer. We may become the best looking rat on the Titanic, but it still goes down. 444 probably not, but 700 is reasonable on the charts.

As I read it, the pmts are based on tonnage unloaded so our exports are not affected. However, imports included finished and unfinished goods; retail pipelines could be impacted, but more critical may be the impact a shortage of parts, OEM and for repair, may have on manufacturing and service industries.
