New Android 4.4.3 KitKat Update Details Leak By Adam Mills | 04/24/2014 3 Comments
Google’s Android 4.4.3 KitKat update remains the giant elephant in the room and today, we’ve seen several new alleged Android 4.4.3 KitKat update details emerge ahead of the update’s highly anticipated release.
The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is a heavily rumored bug fix update that will be coming to Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 10, Nexus 7 and perhaps Google Play Edition users in the coming days. Google still hasn’t announced the update but thanks to a collection of leaks, the update’s arrival is all but confirmed.
While we wait for Google to issue the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update to tackle Android 4.4.2 KitKat problems, Android users are stuck having to rely on leaks for information. And today, we’ve seen a few new leaks emerge. These new leaks not only help to reaffirm the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update’s existence but they also provide new information for Android users.
The first new Android 4.4.3 KitKat update detail comes from LlabTooFeR, an HTC ROM developer and known HTC insider who has an excellent track record when it comes to software updates. In fact, it was he who first revealed that Google was working on an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for its user base.
He claims that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update will be landing for the HTC One M8, HTC’s brand new flagship that touched down only a few weeks ago. He claims not to know anything other than the fact that it will be coming to the HTC One M8 down the road. Android 4.4.3 KitKat update rumors have pointed to an arrival on the HTC One M8 Google Play Edition, a device that is sold through the Google Play Store.
Google typically rolls out major Android updates to its stable of Nexus smartphones and tablets first. Nexus 7, Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and Nexus 5 users will likely be on the front lines. The Nexus software updates are usually followed by updates for the company’s arsenal of Google Play Edition devices. The company hasn’t announced any Android 4.4.3 KitKat update details yet so official roll out plans remain tucked away behind the scenes.
The second leak comes from GFXBenchmark and it depicts a device called the Motorola XT912A running Android 4.4.3 KitKat, which again, is an unreleased piece of software. The device is believed to either be the new Moto X, a device that is confirmed for arrival in the summer, or a new Droid smartphone headed to Verizon.
The benchmark shows off an array of specifications including a 5.2-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 24GB of internal storage, and a 12MP camera. Motorola would almost certainly have access to Android 4.4.3 KitKat so this seems to be a credible leak.
Google may push a new dialer to Android users, but it’s not clear if it will come with Android 4.4.3.
We’ve also seen another possible Android 4.4.3 KitKat leak from XDA-Developers though it’s not as credible as the other two. A leaked screenshot appears to show a redesigned dialer. The device that is using the redesigned dialer appears to be a Nexus 5 running the unreleased Android 4.4.3 KitKat update.
The new dialer shows contacts that are arranged in a card-like format, a big change from the look found in Android 4.4.2 KitKat. We had heard that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update would be focused on bug fixes and would not come with new features but this certainly opens the door to the possibility.
Sprint recently confirmed an Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for its version of the Nexus 5 though the carrier says that the update has been delayed due to issues with the software. The carrier has yet to issue a new release date for the software though a customer service agent said that it expected the update to be deployed soon.
Google recently updated its Edu Device Setup application on the Google Play Store. It was updated several days ago and the device’s change log includes the following references:
Support for new Google Spreadsheets
Support for Android 4.4.3 and non-Nexus Tablets
Minor UI updates and bug fixes
We’ve also seen the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition show up in a new Bluetooth certification with Android 4.4.3 KitKat update on board. This doesn’t confirm any imminent release but it does seem to confirm previous leaks that suggested that Android 4.4.3 KitKat would be arriving for more than just Nexus devices.
Google still hasn’t said what Android 4.4.3 KitKat will be fixing though an unofficial change log suggests that it will come with a fix for unstable data connections, improved camera focus, a fix for random reboot issues, a fix for missed call LED problems, VPN fixes, and much more.
Google’s next Android update, after Android 4.4.3 KitKat, is rumored to be Android 4.5. The new Android update is rumored to be coming in July, after Google I/O, alongside a brand new Nexus device, rumored to be a larger Nexus 8. Android 4.5 rumors remain scarce though there is a chance that the update could be accompanied by design changes in addition to new features.

Do a Google search and look up about flashing a custom rom that is built for Android 4.4.2. I’d recommend CyanogenMod.

I really enjoyed slimbean on my s3, and also slimkat. They both appeared to be fairly stable on that device, and I really liked the blacked out feature. Hat tip to the guys developing slimroms.

NTEK...by far the peat penny stock I have ever owned. Lost lots on a handful of other pennies. So happy I never gave up on NTEK. With all the big players tied to NTEK, I know this is the real deal!!!
All the bashing has been ridiculous & it will be even more sad if they don't admit the lies that have been scaring investors away & just keep doing it like nothing has happened here.
Dividends, 1st for me in the pennies. Huge things to be rolled out here & we will be laughing at this current dip in PPS shortly.
Happy for all longs here & people that recently jumped in.
Let's have fun!$$$
