Nope. Because it would be just that - a GUESS.
Recent history would suggest that we get one any day now, as we seemed to be getting an update roughly once a month. The last was the first week of January (1/5/10 IIRC).
But Scott & co. have proven that they only release news when there is something of substance to be reported. They won't do it just to maintain a schedule of PRs or anything like that, IMO.
So to be honest, it could be tomorrow morning or it could be sometime in March for all we know.
Pay no mind to that post. It is patently false information re/ the mining of Niobium in Canada.
No worries here.
sign me up for that, please and thank you! ;)
Based on?
Not saying I disagree, but just curious why you're so confident.
Looking back, it does seem like we get updated on SOMETHING about once a month - and usually near the first week of the month.
Of course it'll be pure speculation, but what do you believe our next update will be on?
Options:
Shining Tree
Nemegosenda
JV
Financials
Uplisting
Smart money would be on one of the first two options, but we can't rule out a nice little surprise (one of the last 3) that could really generate some interest in our hidden gem here!
Red - nice to hear from ya!
Any TA comments about SRSR you'd care to share with the board? Key supports/resistance levels? Overall trends? Predictions?
We'd love to hear 'em.
SMD - Please feel free to re-post your "concerns" post...just omit the paragraph that was talking about how "this is not a bashing board..." and it will be allowed to stay, as per IHUB admin.
Thanks again for your contributions.
Yep, those would sure be nice to see and I'm certain we will at some point in the future. Probably all boxes that Scott has on his "checklist" of items to accomplish.
It would also be nice to see another write-up in a major publication like the one we had done on us a while ago...
Anything to help re-energize folks and get some fresh, new eyes on this incredibly undervalued company!
The management is there. The properties are there. The resources are there. The only thing I see that is lacking is the promotional aspect of the company. I'm certainly not calling for "pump", but I also don't believe that we've truly been discovered yet...we're not necessarily "on the map" as firmly as we SHOULD be given our assets. JMO.
Good for you, smd. Honestly, good for you for having concerns and voicing them in a no-BS, straightforward manner. Those concerns will keep you grounded and realistic about the potential here.
You SHOULD have concerns. I can only assume that we ALL do. If there was no potential downside we'd all have literally every penny we own tied up in Sarissa - but of course none of us do. That's why I'm sure the vast majority of us still diversify our stock holdings.
Now if I may address a couple of your concerns...
1) China "bubble burst" - it might happen, it might not. Lots of different opinions on that depending on which financial analyst you read/listen to/watch. Just like people's predictions on gold going to $5000 or gold falling back down to $500, there are always going to be folks on either end of the spectrum...the bears and bulls if you will. Sure, China's incredible economic growth can't be sustained indefinitely...but no economy in the world, much like no stock in the world ever goes straight up with no fall back. It's cyclical like anything else. So, do we have 1 year before the proverbial bubble bursts? 10 years? Can't answer that for you. But I have to believe that there is enough demand for niobium, gold and REEs in other growing areas of the world (India, Brazil, etc.) to buoy the price of raw materials - or at least to prevent a catastrophic drop. Keep in mind that Roskill believes these prices will remain stable or grow at similar levels to what was seen before the big global economic downturn. They are one of the best at predicting these things with all aspects being taken into account.
2) All I can say about "selling the company" for anything in the ballpark of a nickel/share is that it ain't gonna happen, IMO! It just isn't. Listen, Scott is from mining royalty - that much we all agree on, yes? Scott is not a kid and only has a finite number of years left as a working man, would you not agree? Do you really think he's going to put all this effort into this property just to flip it for a moderate profit (which is what it would be at 5c/share)? Nah, I'm inclined to believe that Nemegosenda is his legacy property. It's his 9th symphony, his Sistine Chapel...I have to believe that he's going to see this through, and in turn, we as shareholders will be handsomely rewarded for our patience.
3) That's interesting info re/ Scott's pay. I guess we'll have to wait for clarification from Merle if Scott decides to make his compensation info public knowledge. But you're right, on the pink sheets where full disclosure is not mandatory, we are often left to speculate...So we're going to have to take the "wait and see" approach on that front, unfortunately. A bi-product of the pinks I'm afraid.
Again, thanks for bringing up these concerns. That is EXACTLY what this board is here for. I have no idea if my comments have quelled any of your "fears" (that's likely too strong of a word), but all I can tell you is that even if your average price is .20, with a little more patience I believe you'll be seeing green in your portfolio sometime in 2010. I honestly believe that. No bull. Can't guarantee it, obviously, but I'm confident in it!
All the best and I hope you continue to hold this long. Remember that it's always good to have an "exit strategy" and to stick to it. Never be afraid to take profits when the opportunity presents itself, but also keep in mind that you bought into this stock above 10 cents because you thought there was value there. Since that time has Scott & co at Sarissa done anything to shake your resolve or belief that that is still the case? Do you believe this company is worth more than 20 cents/share? Do you believe it has a VALUE above a dollar? If yes, then trust in that. Because you're not alone. There are a LOT of very intelligent, dedicated folks on this board who are right there with ya!
Take care smd. Have a good one.
If I had to guess (and that's exactly what it is - a GUESS), I would say the first or second week of February we'll get an update from Scott & co.
Now to further speculate as to what that update will include is an entirely different conversation...
Anyone care to venture a guess?
In the spirit of the championship season, let's use the NFL's injury report guidelines here...
1. Updated results from drilling at Nemegosenda - I'd call that one "probable" (75% chance).
2. Update on the drilling plans and more results from Shining Tree - I would say that's "questionable" (50% chance).
3. Announcement of a JV for Shining Tree, off-take or financing details, and/or news regarding uplisting - I'd say that's "doubtful" (25% chance) for this next PR.
4. Outright sale of Sarissa Resources - I'm saying that one is "out" (0% chance) for now.
Any thoughts?
That's just MMs coming "off the board" at the end of a trading day - happens quite often. Not typically indicative of the real best bid/ask in my experience.
Unless I am mistaken....?
115 people to date, 95% of which consider themselves to be long - now THAT is a nice, strong group of shareholders for a pink sheet stock!
Thanks for putting in the time to do that survey Onta! You are invaluable to this board.
You got it jack. We don't want to have too many balls in the air. I think we are better served with a concentration on a couple "key" properties and developments...such as we are doing with Lake N. and ST currently.
I've always believed that it's better to focus on one thing and do it the right way before moving on to the next. No sense spreading yourself too thin when you will be better rewarded maximizing the potential of each opportunity.
And that is exactly what I believe Scott is doing. He knows the potential of each of his properties and he's seeing that it does not get wasted!
You betcha!
Accumulation continues from the weak to the strong. More shares in the hands of folks who understand that our VALUE is not currently being shown in our PRICE.
And again, lots of support in the mid- to high-4's. Not a whole lot of downside risk right now...excellent entry point for new folks or accumulation price for those of us already in and looking to add!
Lots of green days ahead IMO!
Agreed! I'm super duper pleased with my investment in Sarissa Resources! ;)
It's certainly proven to be a company that is on the right track and provides an excellent opportunity to see a significant return on your investment.
Top notch management and top notch properties all for under 5 cents? - Sign me up! (...oh wait, I've been signed up for two and a half years now...)
But really, what more can you ask for?
Fair enough. I think we all did!
But I'm confident those days will return. The word of the day (month...year...?) is "patience".
Signed,
A confident, patient Sarissa Resources shareholder.
I invested in Scott Keevil and in potentially three world class mines.
That's all you need to know, jf. I sleep just fine at night because of EXACTLY what you have written there.
Scott Keevil is working his plan. It takes time on his part and patience on ours. And you're right - those assets are not going anywhere!
Nice post btw. Trust what you own.
Nice support being shown here in the 4s (as there has been for a couple of months). Lots of folks seem to be happy to absorb any shares falling out of weak hands. That's a very good thing - no shortage of folks who recognize the potential here if they have a little patience...
Bodes well for our future!
Good opportunity to accumulate some cheapies here guys and gals.
Just keep in mind that upside potential dwarfs the downside risk with Sarissa. As safe a place to put your money into as there is on the pink sheets - if you are so inclined.
Happy investing!
That's very true. But I am also inclined to believe that it is very TEMPORARY.
With the right news, liquidity will not be an issue going forward. Those 10, 15, 20 million share days we've talked about are 'a comin'! (just don't know when exactly...)
Yep, I think we see some sort of update from the company within the next couple of weeks. The folks at Sarissa have shown a propensity to "keep us in the loop" regarding drilling results at both Shining Tree and Nemegosenda on a monthly basis as of late. So, given that our last PR came out the first week of January, it would stand to reason that we'd see one in or around the first week of February.
Lots of potential items that could be discussed in the next PR. We could have some clarification on the on-going drilling program at Shining Tree (considering they mentioned in the last PR that they were "planning" further exploration there). Also, with two drills still turning up at Lake N., we could see some more results from there...
...And you never can rule out a surprise PR that might discuss the possibility of a JV on Shining Tree (was "hinted at" in a previous PR).
February could be a fun month for SRSR shareholders.
Well said chuck!
Personally, I believe we're in for a bit more accumulation and then we'll likely see a bigger SUSTAINED move in short order.
Keep in mind that we've had a couple mini "runs" (I prefer to call them "spikes") on above average volume and then we trickle down on much lower volume. What that says to me is that there have been a few larger buyers who wanted in, got their shares and are holding onto them for considerably higher prices. If they flipped these shares between say 4.5 cents and 6 cents or so, you'd see roughly mirrored volume on the pullbacks as what we saw on the price run-ups in November and early-January. That hasn't happened so I'm inclined to believe those shares are being held tight...
That bodes VERY well for us as shares are in strong hands - hands that belong to minds that understand our VALUE is not being reflected in our current PRICE.
Not much inventory available for sale down here in the 4's and my TA knowledge, albeit quite limited, would suggest that we have excellent support just below where we are now. So the downside risk is dwarfed by the upside potential.
Me likey that ratio!
Continued best of luck here chuck.
What did I miss?
Nice. I like that!
Let's try to get back on topic here guys and gals.
Everyone who posts on here does so for a reason. Keep that in mind and make judgements for yourselves on which to acknowledge and which to ignore.
But let's try to keep this a high quality board that focuses on Sarissa Resources and its prospects as an investment.
Thanks and have a good weekend!
Nice. Thanks for the L2 folks.
Nice to see that we've got 4 MMs at 0.045 or better. Good support there it seems.
Now we'll see if we can get some sustained buying interest and finish the week at or near 5c.
Am I seeing that correctly? A half cent spread with best ask at 0.052?
My feed is 15 minutes delayed, so it's likely changed, but that just goes to show you that there is no inventory on the ask side. If multiple buyers want in, this thing will go in a hurry.
So if volume increases substantially and out of the blue, LOOK OUT!
Well I trust your TA, tom...thank you. You've had some good insights in the past and I do take into account your comments when watching how this trades, despite my admitted skepticism towards technical analysis in general.
I guess I'm a buyer at 0.04 and then I am a FIEND at 0.02 (but FWIW I doubt I'll have the opportunity to get into "fiend mode"!)
My money's (literally and figuratively) on the 4 support holding strong as it did earlier...I doubt very strongly that there are any sellers down there to facilitate a drop any lower.
You are a font of TA knowledge my friend! ;)
Personally I would rather us be in a Nessie Snout formation, but those take time to develop...
All kidding aside, do we have any of our resident TA gurus who would like to provide us with key support levels they believe we need to hold?
TIA
Couldn't tell you for 100% certain, JP.
An email to Merle might (and I stress MIGHT) give you a better indication...but since it has not been made public in a NR yet, I doubt you'll get anything definitive.
Keep in mind, that statement was made in a PR dated January 5th, so two and a half weeks ago. Given how quickly Scott has moved things along in other drilling projects, I would speculate that the "planning" and determination of what/where/when/how to drill at Shining Tree would not have taken them too long and may well be decided already.
What does that drilling "plan" entail? Not sure. But if Scott & co. deem it economically responsible to drill at Shining Tree while two drills are turning at Lake N., then that's what we'll do. After all, I think we're all in agreement that the Shining Tree property is the first "means" to our Nemegosenda's "ends", no? So proving up as much of the gold resource there as possible will give us the best bargaining/leverage in potential JV negotiations. That money can, in turn, be used to help fund the continued exploration of our niobium property.
Just some things to think about.
I would anticipate that the next PR should shed some more light on the situation and that could come any day now.
Have a good one, JP.
Yes, I would say that it was justified Onta. But I'm back in business and efforts have been made to ensure it doesn't happen again. Happy to be back on board and hopefully I'll be able to set a better example as a mod of this fine board.
Thanks to all here who contribute positively (and that includes those who provide constructive criticism and keep us "grounded"). This really is one of the best boards on IHUB and I believe Sarissa Resources and their management deserve a high calibre of shareholders to mirror the high calibre operation they are running.
Have a good night!
Thanks TR. Good to be "back"...though I never really left!
Great day today for accumulating cheapies...never really can tell how many more of these days there will be. So take advantage if/when you can! I know I will be.
Greener days ahead guys & gals.
From the last PR:
Sarissa's management is extremely pleased with these initial results as indications are that gold and silver concentrations in the central Gosselin zone area may improve with depth. Further drilling to test for depth extensions is presently being planned.
Agreed on that, Onta.
A lack of news does NOT mean a lack of progress. Perhaps it is quite the opposite?!?...
Consider that they may have so many balls in the air (multiple zones at Lake N., Shining Tree, weighing financing offers, etc.) that they don't really NEED to issue any NRs until there is something of extreme importance to be made public.
Again, Scott Keevil has a plan. Scott Keevil's plan is to maximize long-term shareholder value. Scott Keevil is executing this plan.
Have some patience and reap the rewards. It's as simple as that.
Just look at these dips as extended Christmas gifts. If you have the funds, I would suggest you BUY, BUY, BUY (yes, I just hit the Cramer button!)
Today's dip is a product of its environment today it seems...
Almost all Canadian stocks are getting hammered today. ABX, RIM, TCK, etc., not to mention ALL of our banks are in the Red. And the Canadian dollar is getting slammed too.
AAA should bounce back big time tomorrow (or later today, who knows?), so this is a terrific buying op on the dip, IMO.
Yep, terrific stuff as usual Pdog.
I would agree that we did not just "stumble upon" these properties.
And you are bang on when you say that Scott doesn't just toss around statements like "world class" for the benefit of artificially (and temporarily) inflating the share price. Has never been his M.O. and likely will never be.
I have the utmost confidence in this company BECAUSE of the management, not in spite of it.
The way I see it, the management is the #1 reason to own this security. The properties are #2...
...and THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING, considering the properties have billions of dollars of assets (that's right folks - billions with a "B"!)
Thanks again for your contributions Pdog. Such an asset to the board.
Nice little buying op here. Might be one of the last chances to snag some shares under .40!
Nice entry point for anyone looking to establish a position or for current holders to accumulate.
Sounds like we could be hearing from the company on multiple fronts any day now...exciting stuff coming in the next few weeks and months.
I asked Merle about it back in late-2009 and though he could not say for 100% certain, he was inclined to believe we would be participants again, yes.
Did you happen to attend PDAC last year? I know several folks from the board did.
Uh oh. A company that strategically uses shares to finance operations and development of the company? We are in BIG trouble here!
You make a wonderful point - the alternative is SO MUCH BETTER. I think Sarissa shareholders would be better served if Scott just sat around and didn't drill a darn thing b/c he doesn't have the free cash to do it.
Sorry turbosetch, it didn't work the first time, or the second, or the third, or the.......it ain't gonna work this time either.
Odd trading today.
Lots of early action and price fluctuation, but no move in the last little while.
The beautiful thing about AAA is that it's downside risk is almost non-existant! It trades so strong and there always seem to be buyers to gobble up the "dips" before they can become "drops".
The upside potential is staggering and I just don't see any reason why you wouldn't take a large starter position here (or add to your stash already)...
A lotta green days ahead, methinks.
I think that the mini-spike to 6c+ was just as others here have speculated - likely one or two larger buyers who wanted to establish a position.
Much like what happened in Novemeber when we mini-spiked to 7c+ and then settled back down.
It was a quick few days of buying volume that caused a temporary PPS increase.
But who knows? You could be right that we're setting up for a run. When our true run DOES indeed start I think we'll all know it!
Everyone just needs to keep in mind the explosive potential this stock has proven to have. We ran for what, 10 or 11 straight green days last summer. The company is now further along in its development, so our upside potential is even greater IMO.
These prices are still a screaming "buy and hold on for dear life" if you ask me.
