'Chart Reader', honestly do not know what Rambos' response will be, but I called a bottom in this market at the end of January. Notice where the low in SMH was? JB was also in this camp too. Wonder where he got too?
How long does SMH have to trade like this before you are comfortable?
Here is a better link I use everyday too:

The Commodities Bubble may have just burst.
It used to be that bubbles were rare occurrences, maybe one per generation. But the current generation just can’t resist chasing higher prices in markets until those markets are driven into bubbles. In just nine years we’ve experienced the dot.com and tech stock bubbles of 1999, the real estate bubble of 2005-2006, the debt/credit bubble, and the current commodities bubble.
But we know what always happens to bubbles. They can be stretched only so thin. And that did sound like a loud hissing noise this week.
In just four days, gold plunged more than $100 an ounce. The gold mining stocks, as measured by the XAU Index of Mining Stocks, plunged 17%, back to their level of last September, six months of super spike-up gains lost in just four days.
It does look like gold, the traditional predictor of inflation, may be signaling that the commodity bubble is bursting. The price of oil fell $10 a barrel this week, almost 10%. Wheat futures plunged 10%. The DJ U.S. Basic Materials Index fell 8%.
SO I SAY…WOW!
We shall see, but if this bubble is truly bursting this will be great for stocks going forward. After all, where else can you buy cheap/low right now?
Great day!
Commodities Down
US Dollar UP
I hope you are right.
Isn't it semi's that move first out of a recession low?
I am willing to bet since the enemy we fight has no borders we will always be at war. And with that many mistakes will be made. So it is best to prepare no matter what.
I second that, but there has been something wrong for a while now though.
I am willing to bet that this position moves very little to the upside even after the bottom for the market is 100 percent confirmed.
So the question is when will the dollar stop falling? It has to at some point.
Just like trying to see a market bottom before everyone else this is just another one of those areas which will have a turn at some point.
Commodities? A trading range from here on out or is it time to just go short? I wonder...
Anyone going to short Commodities?
A Sigma board...AWESOME!!!
Well, everyone had another chance to buy SIGM around 20 yesterday. Did anyone pull the trigger?
I bought a little...
rambos_10, then why do you recommend buying stocks?

Let's hope this ends the bottoming process then. We won't know for a month or so out though.
I have been buying the indexes with my new money this week. The FED seems to be stepping in at a certain level to help. I am not worried!!!
If I was sleeping, I would not be able to post.
No. You just can't get around what history has shown with all the war spending that has happened and is happening. Your's or my opinion whether war is good or not is another issue entirely.
And I do recognize that others have to give up the lives for my freedom. I greatly appreciate this. I would not be able to enjoy my life if it was not for this sacrifice. And many other people are able to say the same thing because of this.
To me freedom comes at a cost. And the one's who stand up for that freedom need the most respect given to them.
'rambos_10', don't think so. War has always been good for the economy and markets over time. Lot of jobs, etc are created because of this spending.
rambos_10 is not selling anything so why would it matter if anyone listened to him or not?
'satorino', not sure why you did not ask Chart Reader directly. After all, we all know he is reading/posting here now.
And rambos_10 I can pretty much guarantee they will not beat double the indexes. Plus, that kind of trading takes to much time and is very stressful too. I want to continue enjoying my life.
SMH is
ML SEMICONDUCTER HOLDERS INDEX.
That should answer your question.
Just wanted to go on record. I do not own MRVL and will not! There are many other stocks worth my time and money right now.
But I lean towards the indexes for most of my money anyway. Individual stock picking is very hard during times like this.
'jbothoo7', glad your back!
You and I are thinking alike again.
Bring on the pain! The only way to create real bargains in my opinion.
This is awesome.
I just took out a loan against one of my properties. I will have the money in my account the beginning of next week and then I will buy an index fund with it. I have not done this for many many years.
I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE ARE SCARED!!!
'cbs13', don't mind marvell_loser. The signon name says it all. The have lost and are upset about it.
Good post BTW, but it was not needed.
Prepare for more ranting!!!
'rambos_10', thanks for the post.
That is music to my ears.
Same thing happened in 1990 and wouldn't you know it...CitiBank lead the way down then too.
Funny it did it on such a psychological important day.
This bottoming process has been and is truly amazing.
The Party regarding MRVL will most likely begin next quarter. Guidance for this company and others should be a lot better.
Regarding your comment about stocks going up during actual reccessions, for the most part you are right and will be right this time too. Why? Because on a valuation basis stocks are extremely cheap right now. Unlike 2001 during our last recession where stocks went down and continued to go down until October of 2002. So I say all this to let everyone know that they should be careful when timing an investment or even a trade. Know the environment or be looking at the Big Picture to help make the correct choice.
It is not about the past, but about the future.
Also, glad to see most everyone still around during this difficult time. Sunny days are ahead for the markets overall!!!
I use Liberty Mutual. Not sure how customer service is though since I have never claimed anything before. My house would have to burn down before I make a claim.
Just because I am curious, does anyone know how liberty mutual ranks for customer service?
What a hell of a hammer on DIVX today!
LOL.
This REHAB facility must be loaded with investors!!!
I think so!
With HD DVD losing out to Blu-Ray there will be more than enough business to go around. Plus, competition is always good.
'plashadpobedy', this may sound crazy but I hope this post of yours comes true.
TA does not work anyway as has been shown with MRVL. So who cares.
Yeah, I am still waiting for the news too. What the heck. It has been weeks.
'jbothoo7', I AGREE! The last two games I saw were the best I have ever seen and both times the Giants were involved!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talking about stradegy is one thing. Posting a call is another.
One thing I have learned with forums is that old news/old posts are just that old and are hardly ever read again. Showing someone your stradegy works is whole other ball game.
Look forward to your future posts.
