SNTS - note the increase in daily short sale volume. This one might just sqeeze for us.

They daily short volume yesterday was 49.24%. Looks like a war right at the 200 day.
SNTS - I understand that they expect more positive Phase III data to come out in November. They will then submit a new drug application in mid-2011. Will they be submitting to the FDA or in Europe? I'm trying to dig into this one more and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

SNTS - that 200 day ma at 3.30 is the key resistance we need to break.
Agreed. The FDA is good with the data, but these guys are not. Makes no sense except being short and trying to cover. Also, this drug is proven in Europe already and bringing in ~$750M - $1B in revs.
They simply short (yes more) a huge amount all at once, which drives the price down, hits stop loss orders which creates automatic selling, then they hope it creates panic selling to really drive the price down. After it's down, they start to cover and the prices starts to rise again.
I've seen it done on 3, most recently with AVNR, where I was sitting with a BIG loss during the raid. It does make you trigger shy for future plays, which is a shame. We're dealing with big money here. I think the AVNR raid was about $3-4M hitting at once.
I have no idea how this one will play out, but the fact remains the same, I do think this approval is a huge win for CADX with a great market opportunity in the U.S.
Tomorrow's volitility will surely create many trading opportunities. Best of luck.
Very possible. I don't think they want to cover $90,000,000 at $9.00 or higher. I'll be hawking it tomorrow.
CADX $9.00 - just got back and saw it was approved with crazy AH trading. There is a massive short position here, so I'll be curious to see what they do tomorrow morning.
Mega-short here. We know they won't go into a likely approval without a fight.

It's a shame it's like that now, but gotta roll with the punches I guess. I believe it will be approved this week; however, I'm not buying until the last minute. This will avoid me buying, then living through ANOTHER bear raid. If they raid, I'll be waiting this time. Good luck to you.
Smart.
CADX - I obtained that info here:
http://www.wsw.com/webcast/jmp11/cadence/
CADX - I heard Bristol Myers sold 90M doses in Europe in 2008 (no data for 2009). The CADX CEO advised that the price point would likely be about $8/dose, maybe a little more. Sounds like pretty solid market potential.
AAPL - might see a pullback to $280, which I believe would be an excellent entry point. I think they might buy Netflix at some point also.
Regarding the option exercising, I would exercise my options too, if I had them.....lol.
CADX (8.88) - nice observation bfr! Not only will I watch this one for a bear raid on Thursday, but all week. They may try to mix things up a bit to catch people off guard with a different day.
Based on what I have read, the CRL this past Feb was purely relating to manufacturing issues, not safety or efficacy. So they basically had 7 months or so to fix these issues. I feel this provides CADX with a pretty good chance of approval.
The current short count on shortsqeeze.com is 9,766,300, which is up from 8,953,600. This equates to $86,724,744 at the current price of $8.88. 42.76% of the float is short, which is massive and does make the AVNR short seem petty.
I'd like to hear some other opinions regarding the chance of approval of Ofirmev for fever and pain indications on Nov 4th.
Thanks.
Yes, 8:00 est
Agreed, worth the 10 mins it takes.
OT: LOL!!!!
I think so too.
AVNR - website back up and running.
Yep, halted with a T1 - pending news.
AVNR - someone actually called the bear raid on the YMBs at 2:24 p.m...right before it happened. It's so nuts over there, I tend to ignore most of it. Where's that time machine when you need it? lol

OT: LOL!
A bear raid is a type of stock market strategy, where a trader (or group of traders) attempts to force down the price of a stock to cover a short position. The name is derived from the common use of 'bear' or bearish in the language of Market sentiment to reflect the idea that investors expect downward price movement.
A bear raid can be done by spreading negative rumors about the target firm, which puts downward pressure on the share price. This may be a form of securities fraud. Alternatively, traders could take on large short positions themselves, with the large volume of selling ideally causing the price to fall, making the strategy self perpetuating.

Was wondering the same about the circuit breaker rules.
Agreed. So corrupt and blatant.
You see that buy/cover at 3? $518,400 Huge!
It would be great to see a gap Monday morning to $5.00+ and see the shorts start covering there.
I would not want to be short on this one over the weekend. VVUS got a CRL and they are up 25% lol! I'm feeling confident in my DD on this one and will ride it through approval.
The FDA has been very timely with their decisions. Our decision is due tomorrow, so I wouldn't expect anything until then. If sooner, great. At the latest, we hear something before Monday's opening bell.
On another note, there was some dude on the yahoo boards who is short and forgot to change his id and posted to himself like he was someone else...lol!!
Approval = short cover explosion. ~16M short right now and they are starting to cover a bit today.
If we really break through that 3.00-3.01 today, we might see some serious covering.
So this is the guy who wrote the article this morning...HAAA!!
http://favusinstitutionalresearch.com/
Listen to your DD everyone, not people like this. Just because it's released via thestreet.com, doesn't make it accurate.
There is some BIG $ short on AVNR, so they will do anything they can to create fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Downside -80%? Come on, get real. IMO, that stupid comment showed their true intensions.
With Saturday due date, might not see anything until Monday morning pre-market. Hopefully we'll hear sooner.
and POZN sitting at 7.00'ish a share
IB is one example.
VVUS +6%, will likely not obtain approval. AVNR -6%, will likely obtain approval. No logic in these markets sometimes.
