"what do you smoke? black market already won ! are you blind and naive?"
****
And what kind of moonshine are you drinking? Maybe that's what's making you deaf, dumb and blind. I doubt you even play a mean pinball.
Bringing the black market above ground is inevitable and much needed for our world economy. Sure, you can be against that, but it is easy enough to see that is exactly what's trending.
Maybe you should've gotten into CGC early as a real investment, rather than as a late to the game bad day trader short bet. Sorry about that, but you will never fix your loss by beating this narrowly read board up with negative sentiment. The real money is institutional and they don't worry about penny trader plays. They hold all the shares and don't read your posts.
Go CGC!
If you think the race is over, you are the one who is blind and naive. Haven’t you heard of “sin taxes?” This is how governments make money to pave roads and fill potholes (and maybe even fill politicians pockets). Unless you think the entire world will devolve into anarchy and living off the grid, legalization is inevitable. Sorry about your bad bet. Go CGC!
Here's why the black market will never win: How about some real standards, testing and enforcement of truth in labeling? That might be helpful, right? Oh, and this is also the black market that has brought us Fentanyl, right? Getting cannabis out of the gutter and into the light of day requires companies like CGC to succeed. Sure some people still buy moonshine, but it's only a tiny segment that doesn't compete really on quality or price. Move on and stop trying to recover your bad bet. Go CGC!
I like the taste of Biosteel. It’s improving my workouts and tennis games. CGC is in all the right spaces. Big platform for a big industry moving from the underground to the above ground economy; tax revenue that will save our democracy from the crooks, cheapskates and liars! Sorry about your bad bet.
Maybe because of comments that are boring and predictable. Sorry about your bad bet on CGC. Maybe getting in earlier would have helped. Regardless of daily price action, CGC is still the industry leader. When the tide rises, the biggest ship floats first!
Just like beer, wine and other alcohol products, branding will matter and command a price premium. This isn't a race to the bottom, it's a race to the top. CGC is the market leader. Even though leaders tend to take a few arrows in their backs, CGC is well positioned for a large share of the ever expanding legal marketplace. Patience matters.
Why? Canopy has more cash in the bank than any other player. Maybe only Borys is in desperate need of profit. CGC just beat estimates and you aren’t happy. Have you ever been? Glad for CGC, sorry you made a losing bet. Short is a bad play in a developing industry with long established demand.
Who knows? Maybe you? Tomorrow is just another day in the long arc of CGC and the above ground cannabis market’s development. As the saying goes,”Some days are diamonds, some days are stones.” Canopy is a diamond, if you have the stones. Do you?
Stuttering again? CGC still shows a nice gain for many of us. New industry, long term play. Time is on CGCs side!
Wow! Issac Newton of penny stocks! How about what has gone up from under $2 will still go up? Look at CGC’s chart as something other than a day trader or a short seller caught in no man’s land and you will see the best financed, best managed and most cash rich player in a wide open new frontier. Go CGC!
Interesting. Nice to see actual information. Thanks for your diligence.
And yes, my bar is pretty low. I've been in CGC and its predecessors since early 2014. I'm doing okay. You gotta dance with the girl who brung ya!
Bory & Dogger: Maybe I have a stuttering problem too. I'd just say don't own what you don't like, eat your loss and find somewhere that makes you happy. CGC does that for me.
Specifically, that they did well with medicinal internationally and with B2B in Canada. This is a sign that their strategy is paying off despite COVID and regional policy-related slowing of the retail roll out in Canada. To be honest, I didn't expect that they would beat estimates, but they did. Gotta give CGC credit for that!
Dude! Do you have a stuttering issue? I think you’ve posted this before. Any news on CGC? Any meaningful insight on CGC? Maybe a short problem on CGC? Good earnings report today. CGC continues to be the world leader in both strategic direction and cash on hand.
When you are losing badly, it's a sign that you should just fold your hand and walk away. Only big losers keep playing til they are tapped out. CGC reported what anyone should have expected. They set low expectations with Q4 guidance (which some have trumpeted like it was the end of the world) and then they beat that guidance in Q1. Well executed by a strong management team, despite COVID headwinds. Go CGC!
You raise a good point. On 28-Jul, CGC traded over 19 million shares and closed at $19.48. It would be interesting to know who was buying. Anyone have a clue? Have any disclosures been filed?
Such a pleasant thought (sarcasm intended). There are many reasons in the public domain to indicate that CGC is turning up. Better management under Constellation’s guidance, more time for the legal market to develop, smart investments in US CBD (Biosteel) Even looking at the chart, support is evident. What’s not to like, unless you are hoping to profit from the losses of others (no sarcasm at all)?
Why is that? CGC’s share price has had many ups and downs without positive earnings. New industry coming above ground from black market, production and distribution all being established, proven demand. CGC is by far the dominant early entry player and backed by Constellation, one of the biggest global players in an adjacent/complementary category. What’s not to like?
Not sure what you mean. Is there a CGC chart for that?
November isn’t that far away. Patience has always been rewarded by CGC.
I’m not sure that comparing CGC to penny stock alternatives is a valid comparison. Sure one can put their money wherever they want, but most institutions won’t put anything in their portfolio that is less than $10 and the major exchanges drop stocks that fall into the pennies. CGC may not be for the average joe, but I don’t think most average joes have any stocks at all, with the exception of indexed funds as part of a retirement plan.
Happy: really nice point of view! We should all be willing to see and seize the change to legal. Go CGC!
Well maybe, that you need some patience? It might take more than one hit to get you to a new high.
I thought Biosteel tasted just fine, like any other hydration supplement. The clerk at Vitamin Shoppe was very high (sic) on it, especially the CBD version. She said the running community was comining and asking for it. Interesting way for CGC to get into US market through Biosteel. Vitamin Shoppe is very big.
Can you point to any new public information to support your negative view or are you only hoping to gain by the losses of others? Any previously released information has already been absorbed by the market.
As the saying goes, “Sell on news, buy on rumor.” Obviously, you are looking for news. Why is seeing the price go down on CGC so important to you? Maybe because your game plan is to profit from the losses of others. Nice guy!
Maybe it’s not greed, nor lack of understanding. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that others only see the opportunity as you do. Which, by the way, is consistently small-minded, short term and negative. Good luck playing on what you hope will be the misfortunes of others. The future is so much more than a zero-sum game.
Oh! You are sooo much smarter than the Constellation team! You should really consider going into business for yourself. Oh, that's right It is all about you and your penny-stock investments. What a champ!
Seems like the price on your chart goes up with celeb endorsements. Don’t forget about Snoop!
So, maybe I’m not the best person to understand charting, but your chart appears to say that celebrity endorsements have been very good for CGC. Just maybe there is more to value than static daily transactions.
Don't forget Snoop!
Don’t you have a chart for that?
You just gotta go your own way. I'm okay with that. You don't really strike me as someone who tries to make a buck off of someone else's loss. One of the benefits of being a "perma-long" as you say, is we don't have a loss. Early bird gets the worm.
Well maybe yes, but getting in under $3 USD wasn't bad. Maybe if I was a day trader getting out at $60 would've been nice, but I'm a glass half full kinda guy. I am more interested in fundamentals than charts. This is still a nascent industry. Who buys booze from moonshiners any more? Just wait.
A lot depends on where your entry point was in that picture. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, but still way up and patient.
Totally surprised to see that you have words and not just charts. A few of us that still remain might recall when the shout out for $17 CDN seemed like a total pie-in-the-sky dream. Having seen that and more. I’m not at all disappointed. Our best days are still ahead. It’s not just a chart thing. The operators do make a difference. Bruce was fun, but his time is gone. Constellation has what it takes to get CGC over the goal line.
Are you talking to yourself again? If/when there are earnings, do you get sent a check? All that really matters is the share price. Many, many companies go up in share price with or without earnings. Get over it.
This was once a fun board. Many of the OGs made money and exited. Some of us still remain. I had no idea how boring shorts and other losers could become. At the end of the day, the current crop of comments don’t really add any new information on CGC. Not long ago, this was an active board, now it’s filled with occasional comments by sore losers who only seek to profit on the losses of others. I miss MMPRUser and his domestic problems; they were off topic but made a good read.
You guys called it this morning. Good job!
